Morning Devotional...My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me? Psalm 22:1
Crucifixion was the terrifying death of the Roman and far worse than the flaming stake, the shining sword, the awful ax, the poisonous hemlock or the swinging rope.
At Calvary our Saviour met the cross and when He did, He took our place.
The sharp clear ring of steel to steel was heard and the suffering substitute died, but not before His cry of abandonment rose to the heavens: "
My God, My God, why?"
Greater than His physical suffering was that of being forsaken of God.
Today may we adore, praise, and worship by faith at the nail-pierced feet of our beloved Saviour.
--Arnot P. McInteeBut oh, what grief, what agony,
when wrathful judgment's awful spell
Burst over Thee, on Calvary's tree,
God's Lamb for us, Immanuel!

hahahaha!
I took too long to compose a post and when I went to post it, was too late!
Oh well, I was only venting anyway.
I can't write it again, too tired.
Hope everyone here is doing well.

Pat, thanks for posting the words to Just As I Am. That is one of my favorite songs. I copied the lyrics so I could type them up. My sisters are coming this weekend, and we're going to do a lot of singing the old songs. Just As I Am is one we all like to sing, but always forget words. :) I went online tonight and found a page with lots of very old Christian song lyrics, but songs we've sung at family gatherings when young. I know the "girls" will be surprised when I make song books for us. :)
Chris, your devotional was wonderful. I'd not heard that about the bottle in the ocean, but it really makes sense; doesn't it? We are in Him and He in us. I really like the way he puts it.
I haven't seen The Passion. A group from church went last Wednesday, but I just couldn't.
I don't know what I would do, and I didn't want to be with a bunch of people if I started sobbing and couldn't stop. But then, I may just be quiet......like those you saw, Etta Sue. I don't know what I'd do. I'll wait a few days and go with my daughter, maybe.
I'm still having computer problems.....or phone line problems, or isp problems. Next week I'll have the phone repairman come out and look outside. I can't afford for him to come in my house. They sure charge a lot. :o It takes forever to get anywhere, so I haven't been on here much.
Nards, I'm sure I would have loved your grandpa. I know heaven is having a party. He left a legacy of kindness and a bright light so that his family might see that and want to be like him. What a precious gift for him to leave for all of you.
Mullet, I haven't been back to look at all the posts, but I hope you're feeing better. Angel has a yucky cold and fever tonight.
Blessing to all of you. Nita
9 a.m. U.K.
Thank-you Pat. There is no worse feeling than that of not having a father there when you need him! Thank-You Jesus for doing that for me!
"And now you must not be afraid. Surely you cannot be afraid of the Father who loves you more than the tenderest earthly father ever loved his child; or of the Saviour who loved you and gave Himself for you! No you must not be afraid." W.Walsham How, D.D.
Ria...Hallo dear sister. Lovely day here. Sun is shining . Hope you feel better :D
A Blessed Lord's Day to you all.
Love in Jesus' Name.

AS ALWAYS, A WONDERFUL WORD FROM A. W. TOZER. HOW MANY TIMES WE DO FORGET AND GO OUT IN OUR OWN STRENGTH, THEN WONDER WHY WE STRUGGLE AND SOMETIMES FAIL AND BECOME DISILLUSIONED! :)
THE POWER WITHIN US, NATURALLY, IS A SIN- TAINTED POWER. SO, TO TELL SOMEONE TO "AWAKEN THE POWER WITHIN" IS A FARCE AND LEADS TO DESPAIR!
ONLY THE POWER OF GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT CAN OVERCOME ALL SIN AND ALL OBSTACLES.

The Holy Spirit: Wake Up the Lion In You!
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being
from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.
--2 Corinthians 3:5
That is the difference between Christianity and all the Oriental
cults and religions. All cult religions try to wake up what you
already have, and Christianity says, "What you have is not enough--
you will need the enduement which is sent from above!" That is the
difference. The others say, "Stir up the thing that is in you," and
they expect this to be enough.
By way of illustration, if there were four or five lions coming at
you, you would never think of saying to a little French poodle,
"Wake up the lion in you." That would not work--it would not be
enough. They would chew the little fellow up and swallow him,
haircut and all, because a French poodle just isn't sufficient for
a pack of lions. Some power outside of himself would have to make
him bigger and stronger than the lion if he were to conquer.
That is exactly what the Holy Spirit says He does for the Christian
believer, but the cult religions still say, "Concentrate and free
your mind and release the creative powers that lie within you." The
Counselor, 142-143.
"Lord, in our self-reliance we're all too often guilty of digging
deep for that inner self-sufficiency. Our New Age culture fosters
that error. Teach us how futile; show us Your power. Amen."

LYNDA TO CP
RIA :)
Good Morning all on our Lord's Day.
I am really looking forward to church today. I know it will be emotional since our sermon will be about 'The Passion' and the crucifixion. I cry about every Sunday in church. I used to hate myself for that but now I feel it is a cleansing. Nita, as for the movie....I didn't hear any sobbing where I was sitting but from seeing all the red eyes and wet eyes when leaving, I am sure there was sobbing. This is such an 'in your face' film that you are in shock 'n' awe at what you just experienced. Everyone knows what takes part...(read about the crucifixion in the gospels) but this movie gives you a graphic visual. I just think that it is a reminder of what Christ did you me.
I know some will not see this film and that is your choice. But for me, I am so glad that I saw it. And this person doesn't like any violence, blood, torturing or anything remote close to any of that. I am a comedy, romance type of girl.... ::) Oh, yes! Mel Gibson even put in a scene that was funny!!! In fact, that was the only part that any sound was heard from the audience.»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

We just got done with the paper route so now I am headed to the shower. We have a busy day at church today.
Hope you all have a good day.
Etta Sue~I had tears in my eyes the whole time watching the movie. I almost started to cry like a baby seeing a few parts. I also heard people crying behind me and i had earplugs in.
Some folks sat there while others left right after the movie. Zachery and I sat and then we left and didn't say a word till we got home. I guess we didn't know what to say, maybe shock or something.
Awesome movie.
Good Morning one and all. Thank you pat for the devotional this morning and for "just as I am " yesterday. I have never heard that song that I haven't cried. I am posting my devotional from Days Of Praise here as it seems to go along with some of the posts here this morning as to when we ask God "WHY".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
February 29 - WHY?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?" (Romans 9:20).
In this scientific age, it is essential for us to remember that "science" can never answer any question beginning with "why." Scientific research seeks to answer questions of "what" and "how," and sometimes "where" and "when," but it can never deal with "why" questions. Such questions require a moral or theological answer.
Probably the most vexing of all such questions is: "Why do the righteous suffer?" Or, put another way: "Why is there evil in a world created by a God who is good?" The question becomes especially poignant when personal calamity comes and we ask, "Why did this happen to me?"
Many think the Book of Job was written to answer such questions, for Job was one of the most godly men who ever lived, yet he suffered more than anyone. But God answered Job's searching questions only by pointing to the wonders of His Creation. God has made us for Himself, and He is "forming" us for His own holy purpose; that is all we need to know right now. "What I do thou knowest not now," said Jesus, "but thou shalt know hereafter" (John 13:7).
Yet even Jesus in His human suffering cried out on the cross: "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46). We do know, at least in part, the answer to this question. "For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (II Corinthians 5:21).
For answers to the other "why" questions, we may well have to await God's own time. Until then, "we know that all things work together for good to them that love God" (Romans 8:28), and we can say with Job: "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him" (Job 13:15). HMM
I am just popping in to greet you this morning. Today we will see The Passion. We won't be home until tonight.
I wish all of you blessings today.
Talk to you later, Janet...
Here are the words to that lovely tune that Chris put in:
He Looked Beyond My Fault
(and saw my need)
Amazing Grace, shall always be my song of praise
For it was grace that brought me liberty
I do not know, just why He came to love me so
He looked beyond my fault and saw my need
I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary
To view the cross, where Jesus died for me
How marvelous, His grace that caught my falling soul
He Looked beyond my fault and saw my need.
Good morning everyone! I'm getting ready to go to youth class at the church.

Here are a few good old choruses I have been singing this afternoon Perhaps Papa John remembers them also.:-
All the way to Calvary He went for me,
He went for me. He went for me.
All the way to Calvary He went for me
And now He sets me free.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest Name I know,
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.
Give me oil in my lamp
Keep me burning
Give me oil in my lamp
I pray.
Give me oil in my lamp
Keep me burning,
Keep me burning 'til the
Break of day.
Sing Hosanna, sing Hosanna
Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings.

I love that, Chris! Thanks for that. I would never have seen that little speaker if you hadn't pointed it out! LOL
Just got back from church. Lila Mae did a great job in the daycare. She only hollered at us twice. Chandraya sang her solo today. She did good. I am so proud of her. I got a few shots I will show you all later.
We won't be having church tonight because of all the snow God has given us today.
Troy and Mike are going to the movies to watch The Passion of Christ. I can't wait to see their faces and hear what they have to say. Zachery and I have been keeping our mouths shut so we don't give it away.
Be back later.
I do not know if everyone has seen this yet but Pat had just stuck it up and there were no topics so I stuck up a method for sore throats. (http://christianphotographers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=47)
It is just under practice board and messages.
Zachrey
Jenny you are so funny!!!!! But I do not know if mom will let them chase me! HEHEHE!!
Thank you for the hims!
Zachery
hahahhahaha...Zachery, you know me all to well, son. ;D
A good message from pastor Adrian Rogers tonight,
He was giving an example of a family squabble, and said that if the members are all arguing about pre trib, post trib, etc. etc. etc.
He said " you better get off the organization committee and get on the welcoming committee because Jesus is coming back soon and you better be ready to welcome Him."
He preached on Titus ch. 2 v 13-15
"Looking for the Blessed hope."
A very good preacher.

Hi Everybody:
I have just arrived home from a Ladies Retreat out in Caledon at the Teen Ranch. There were 150 ladies there. The spiritual restoration was wonderful with singing, some old songs, some new. There was a hot tub where 8 people could fit in. This was outside under the stars with snow all around. There were horses and a nice long hike in the bush. The food was wonderful. There were games. But one of the fun things was a team including the Pastor's wife doing an amazing energetic dance to the music that advertises the YMCA. They all had straw hats on walking sticks and the whole thing was just a lot of fun. I stayed in the bunk house with 4 other ladies. It showed that Christians can have a wonderful time in the Lord.
Now I am going to the church to hear a Messianic Jewish man who is teaching Revelation. Talk to you later.
Love Ruthie
Here is a link that Melvin sent me re: The Passion of the Christ there are some great photos one there and some reviews.

We had a great sermon this morning and I will tell you about it later right now have to look something up on Google about something else. Jenny you know what it is.

Chris, we watched our taping of that Adrian Rogers message, too. He's on here from 12:00 noon to 1:00 and since we're seldom home in time to get it we tape it and watch it later - and we're never disappointed. ;D
We got back from Memphis and our couples retreat just a little while ago. We had a wonderful time and it was really spiritually refreshing. Of course Cornelia and I were the oldest couple there. This morning we had our worship before leaving to come back home. It was truly inspiring with our small group of about twenty couples.
Yesterday we had a three hour session of discussion, prayer, singing and dealing with the many problems couples face in this modern world, rearing children and making their marriages what God wants them to be.
In the afternoon some went to visit the home of Elvis Presley. Cornelia and I went with others to down town Memphis to a large shopping mall. We called our granddaughter who came with her husband and met us and took us to a park by the Mississippi River where we walked and sat on a bench and talked. Then we went to their apartment to see where they live. They were married just this last year and she is in her second year of Medical school and he works for a company which designs and prints catalogue.
Last night we went to a famous barbeque restaurant where Cornelia and I had a large slab of barbequed pork ribs. Delicious.
It is good to be back home again. I hope you all have had a good Lord's day and that you have a restful sleep tonight.

Well ... I didn't go to church today :-\ I have been in a rather reflective, subdued mood, and I stayed home to be alone with my Lord. CHRIS~I also saw that sermon by Adrian Rogers ... very good!
Our pastor Ron is getting married today ... even as I type this, in fact. :-[ Obviously I am not there! My feelings run too deeply at this moment for comment, so I will only tell y'all that several people have left our already small congregation, and others are planning to leave in a week or so. :-\ ??? At the moment, I have no leading one way or the other, except that I feel I need to stand firm for now in the midst of all this confusion and upset. Someone told me that I need to stay to keep my foot on the situation so it doesn't blow away! ::) ??? I suppose there needs to be at least one stabilizer here. ???
I have received notification of a high school reunion the 19-21 of March. I have never been to a reunion and have never really cared about going, but this time I think I need to get away ... It will be good to see some of my friends of "long ago" ... This is the Class of '52. That's only 52 years ago, y'know! Whoooeeeee ::) ??? ;D
I'll be back after a while and read what everyone's been up to this wonderful Leap Year day.
Take cover, ZACH!! ;D
11.p.m. U.K.
Oh Hello Papa John....How wonderful! You have had a great time. Praise God! You are an inspiration to us all.
My son Christopher is a great Elvis fan and would love to go to Memphis as dear Ruth Ann knows already! ;)
Elvis could have taken a tip out of your book Papa John re his marriage and fidelity.
Such a blessing for you to spend time with your grand-daughter also.
Jane "Stand still"...I love you and am praying for you dear sister in Christ.
Hi Marilyn ;)
Hi Chris and Margit and dear Zach
I am ready for my bed now...
Good night and God bless.
Jenny
Chris.........
Your post of yesterday....
QuotePentecost means that the Deity came to mankind to give Himself to
man, that man might breathe Him in as he breathes in the air, that He
might fill men. Dr. A. B. Simpson used an illustration which was about
as good as any I ever heard. He said, "Being filled with the fullness
of God is like a bottle in the ocean. You take the cork out of the
bottle and sink it in the ocean, and you have the bottle completely
full of ocean. The bottle is in the ocean, and the ocean is in the
bottle. The ocean contains the bottle, but the bottle contains only
a little bit of the ocean. So it is with the Christian."
Was to profound, I had to chew on it for a while. I've never heard it said any better. I know there is absolutely no way of getting more of God, His Spirit, or Jesus, because ALL of Him came to live within me when I was reborn. but I do know that through study of His Word, and prayer, I can be more LIKE Him, and can daily fill my cup with Him. Thanks for the great illustration. I'll not forget it.
Chris..........
We never miss Adrian, and remember all of what he said about it. Love him. ;) Loved his illustration of the close hangers.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name.

Hi, there, I've been recuperating from a bad headache that awakened me last night and went on until late this afternoon.
Glad it's better.
It's certainly good to read all the posts.
Y'all have a good evening.
Ruth Ann
What a day this has been. After church I had the boys while Bonnie and Sean went to see "The Passion" I met them after and they were both visibly shaken. All they could say was "He did that for me!"
One of the young men gave me a copy of the rap he had preformed a couple of months ago. I am writing the chorus here, so you can see what this young man is all about. He is engaged to one of our young ladies, and has requested prayer for the coming year as he goes to Japan to teach English.
I'm a warrior, I'm a soldier,
I'm fighting battles in my heart just like I told you.
I'm a warrior, I'm a soldier,
I'm fighting battles in my mind just like I told you.
I'm a warrior, I'm a soldier,
I'm fighting battles in my life just like I told you.
I'm a warrior, I'm a soldier,
I'm fighting battles for God just like I told you.
This morning as the Praise Team went into the sanctury we noticed the front rows were filled with many of the 8 - 10 year old children. This age group can be quite disruptive, so Pastor Jeff asked that I keep an eye on them as we proceeded with the service. Boy can these youngsters sing. Have you ever heard an impromptu childrens choir? We I did today. There is a chorus to a hymn that goes "Shout to the north and the south". That is the first line. I don't know the whole hymn by heart, Well these kids just bellowed it out and praised God. Nards can you help find the words?
John left today for VA. He will be home Friday, and for the weekend is going to Guelph to do some training. He will be staying with Pat, so that will be a bit of company in the evening for her.
I must go, I am tired tonight and the girls are still bouncing.
Night all

Hello all. What a wonderful day we had. We have around 7 inches of snow and about 2 foot drifts. I think we can do some (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sonifopictures.com%2Fgraphics%2F3sledding.gif&hash=991b0a6873bd011f307b426ab68bc7a24b4c7b53) tomorrow.
Wooohooo..Chandraya will be jazzed about that.
I am going to put the kids to bed and maybe head there myself.
Talk with you all tomorrow.

I'm Off to bed night all!!

JudyB - The song is "Shout to the North" by delirious.
Shout To The North
Men of faith rise up and sing
Of the great and glorious King
You are strong when you feel weak
In your brokeness complete
Shout to the North and the South
Sing to the East and the West
Jesus is saviour to all
Lord of heaven and earth
Rise up women of the truth
Stand and sing to broken hearts
Who can know the healing power
Of our awesome King of love
We've been through fire we've been
through rain
We've been refined by the power of his name
We've fallen deeper in love with you
You've burned the truth on our lips
Rise up church with broken wings
Fill this place with songs again
Of our God who reigns on high
By His grace again we'll fly
We just got home, and Darrel is still not feeling well. If he isn't better tomorrow I am going to try to get him to see a doctor.
The movie was all I expected it to be and more.
See you tomorrow, I am headed for my pillow!
Aww...Janet. I will say a prayer for Darrel.
Another awesome service from the New Generation tonight. The Holy Spirit was present in all His Holy power. I can't even talk about it except to say Powerful, Awesome as we layed hands on them and prayed for them we had them laying all over the floor. These are kids I am talking about some were new Christians that didn't know anything about being slain in the spirit..
At the morning service, the sermon was on "The God Factor" We all have a testimony of the God Factor in our lives. We are not the same as were were before salvation, The God factor came and changed us. Some of us have been impoverished either spiritually, physically, financially, or emotionally then entered the God Factor and changed everything. Some have been given a bad report from a Doctor saying that we have only months or days left on this earth and the God Factor changed it all and gave us the Healing that gave us back our life. "We shall live and not die and proclaim the works of the lord."
well you can fill in what applies to you, it was also a powerful sermon that will continue next week.
TTYL
