Morning Devotional...

One spoon of ten shekels of gold, full of incense.
Numbers 7:14

Twelve times in this chapter, reference is made to "A golden spoon of ten shekels, full of incense". The princes were commanded to bring gifts to the Lord and each brought a spoon of gold. Each spoon was alike and precious, just as we who gather to remember the Lord today.

We are all His blood bought children, none greater than the other, each precious to Him. Regarding the spoons function, one comment only is made, they were to be full of incense.

What a picture of our worship. May we be full of Him and for Him.

SAVIOR, THY DYING LOVE
(Click to hear music)

God demonstrates His love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

Words:  Sylvanus D. Phelps (1816-1895)
Music: Robert Lowry

Savior, Thy dying love Thou gavest me.
Nor should I aught withhold, dear Lord, from Thee.
In love my soul would bow, my heart fulfill its vow,
Some offering bring Thee now, something for Thee.

O'er the blest mercy seat, pleading for me,
My feeble faith looks up, Jesus, to Thee.
Help me the cross to bear, Thy wondrous love declare,
Some song to raise, or prayer, something for Thee.

Give me a faithful heart, likeness to Thee.
That each departing day henceforth may see
Some work of love begun, some deed of kindness done,
Some wanderer sought and won, something for Thee.

All that I am and have, Thy gifts so free,
In joy, in grief, through life, O Lord, for Thee!
And when Thy face I see, my ransomed soul shall be
Through all eternity, something for Thee.

:-[ :-[ okay, okay.  I said that (typed it rather) before I went to check again.  Last night, only Marilyn had commented.  Thanks for the nice comments.  I think I will just go put in a couple more.

Pat, is it all right to add five in a day, since there are 5 blanks, or do you prefer the four?

I will go add three, I think, maybe it was two I have ready, and then it's to bed with me!

Janet, let's say 5 until we get many more adding.  Right now there aren't that many adding their quota so go ahead.

OK?

I'm just changing some of the little photos up top and then I'm going off to my bed (that is already warmed up!  :) )

That is an awesome site but when one doesn't have DSL speed for downloading it takes a very long time to get to the "prize."   :-\ I did persevere and really enjoyed it, though.

I look at all the photos but find it difficult to comment on each one because I just say the same thing over and over .... Great photo!  :-[

JANET:  When did you first start to paint seriously....at what age?  Have you always painted or did you take it up and drop it only to take it up again?  Or did you take it up late in life?  Have you had professional training? (it sure looks like you did)

I ask because I have a daughter that has the talent, but beyond high school never pursued it...too busy raising a family.  I have been encouraging her for years and have offered to pay for classes materials etc to get her going again.

She does use the talent for projects at church.  She painted a huge banner for my retirement party, she does banners for the kids birthdays.

CHRIS:  Sorry to hear you are not going to church today.  Here's another box of Kleenix for you......

Hi, Ed!  I painted my first painting in 1971, and I think I was maybe in my early 30s then.  I had no idea I could do it!  Had never had any art classes in school at all.  All of my training has been in classes as an adult.  I would love to be able to attend class once a week, but now there isn't anyone around here (except me) who is teaching painting.

I have taken short-term classes with several professional artists through the years and really appreciate what they taught me.  The rest has been through observation, trial and error.

Keep encouraging your daughter, one of these days her family will be all grown up and she will be able to paint more.  In the meantime, any kind of artwork will help keep her motivated.

Today our pastor is going to talk to the men about their responsibilites in marriage.  Next week it's the ladies' turn!  :)

Beth wanted so much to go to church today, but she can't move much at all, so is watching church on TV.

Darrel poured water over my head (after warming it) so I could wash my hair and shower.  What a sweet husband!  And being without water makes me have a new appreciation for how hard our forebears had to work to get a family cleaned up and ready to attend church!  Not to mention the laundry.  I'm so thankful for hot and cold running water IN THE HOUSE, and a washer and dryer!  And I hope it warms up enough today to thaw out the pipes.  :-\

Got to run, talk to you all later.

By the way, I put more photos in the gallery last night, please go take a look.  Thanks.

Good Morning Everyone, Pat thanks for the devotional and the comments ont he photos. Yes more people need to upload some photos. Personally I need to get out there and take more photos. I have started taking my camera with me again. I still haven't uploaded  more from by birthday or from christmas. I have also neglected my own website.

Our church has finally got it's web siteonline although it is still not completed. The Young  assistant Pastor who is doing it has been ill for the last 4 weeks.  any way  Here it is I hope you will go check it out from time to time to see what has been added.

I had a wonderful conversationwith Nita on Skype yesterday and we spent  a little time in prayer. How wonderful it is to be able to join with some one from CP in prayer, and to hear the voice of someone you feel you have known  forever.

After church I need to go to Fay's and do up her dishens then back home to get myself ready to go to the Sleep Clinic again.

I will be back later.

I will be back later.

Good morning y'all

Yes, Marilyn and I were on Skype for awhile.  It was so nice to speak with her and then to pray together.  I'm still amazed at the quality of sound.

Janet, your paintings are wonderful.  Oh, you are so gifted.  I can see why you are the teacher!  Long ago I used to like to paint, but just stopped and never picked it up again.  The expression in the face of Jesus is multi-layered and I can see His anger, His authority, His compassion, etc.  You've captured something deeper than your brush strokes.  And yes, I do believe you were annointed for this one.

Hello and good afternoon.
To those that are not well I am remembering you in prayer I sure hope the bug does not arrive at my home.

Now I am on my way to check out the gallery. I also need to add some photo's to my gallery but I do not feel confident, sometime I will get it figured out.

It's on its way, but our brand is thinner than yours so be careful not to blow a hole in the center.

QUESTION:  Is this a virus that I can catch over the Internet...I don't want my computer to get sick.  Ha Ha

Seriously though, stay dry, stay warm and stay liquidated  errr hydrated.  And chicken soup is good for you...something about the amino acids (sp)  Also drink hot ginger ale...it's the ginger in it....

Home from another very good service at church, I just ate a bowl of Coleslaw that I made yesterday.  It is hot with cayenne pepper. I also made some nice  curried rice with veggies in it that I will warm and eat shortly. I have to go to Fay's in a bit and do her dishes.

Janet

Another slow Sunday here in CP.  That's good, as we are supposed to rest today.  I'm going to take a nap shortly.

We had a great service today, too.  Good advice to the men on marriage, which he will finish tonight; then next Sunday, it's the wives' turn!  ;)

During church, Beth called and said she had an emergency.  Her water had finally thawed, was running over in her bathroom basin and flooding her bedroom.  So Darrel ran home and took care of it.  She just didn't have enough strength to turn the faucet off.  :(  For some reason, she is really weak today.

When we got home, our water had thawed out, too, and no pipes were "busted" ....Praise the Lord!!  We are so happy to have water again, and not to have to bust out sheetrock to find broken pipes.  Whew!

After getting the water again, we got busy and peeled and chopped vegetables and now have a BIG crockpot of vegetable soup cooking.  Then I went to Beth's to take her some food, picked up the wet towels from her flood, started a load of her laundry, put away some things, and re-bandaged her wounds.

Nita, thank you so much for your comments on my painting.  I took my camera to church to take a photo of the one I painted for Pastor's wife, so I can post it later.  Not my best work, but it's really hard to paint another person's vision----and she loves it, so that's what matters.

Marilyn, good luck at the sleep clinic tonight.  Sometimes I think Darrel needs to do that, as he breathes so irregularly at night.

See y'all later!  Ed, Pat, Chris and Margit---please get well soon.  Praise God, I seem to have averted the cold that was attacking me.  I'm still taking the C, just for insurance.

Janet,

As I looked at your paintings of the young boy and the beach setting, I thought that both could be used as lessons on how to crop a picture!  Just have thoroughly enjoyed your work/ministry.  Keep 'em coming!

Hi everyone.  It is another cold and dreary type day here in Georgia but we really haven't had the rain the predicted.  We had a soloist rather than having the choir sing the Anthem this morning but the choir did process and semifill the choir loft as we had about 10 choir members out.  Our youth pastor preached on the 5th commandment on honoring our parents and had a very good message.

Following church we went to a new place to eat.  It was a steakhouse and pretty pricey but the food was good.  It was also rather chilly in the restruarant.  I came home and got under my electric blanket and had a nice snooze.

Janet, glad to read that your water lines thawed out and no damage.  Hope Beth didn't have damage other than the wet floor.  I look forward to see your new photos.

Nita and Marilyn, Skype is pretty amazing and the cost is certainly right.  I also like that you can talk with anyone in the world that has it on their computer.  Ruth, Sykpe is not the same thing as MSN Messenger, but works very similar to it.

I had hoped to see a posting from Papa John indicating that Cornelia had been discharged from the hospital.  Maybe he will be by later this evening with futher news.

Marilyn, hope you have a good night at the sleep clinic.

My good friend Rod is on his way home from Hawaii.  They checked out of their condo this morning and will spend another night in Hawaii and fly home tomorrow.  They have had a nice week and he said he had taken a lot of very good pictures with his new Casio Digital Camera that was just put on the market.

Marilyn, I just looked at your church website and it is very eye-catching and clean looking.  It looks like a very good start.

I use Skype when talking with my friends who have Windows.  I have a Mac and my son in college in San Diego has a Mac.  We talk daily on iChat, similar to Skype, but with video...it's nice to see that boy...and we are amazed that he keeps his apartment clean!

Kevin...lol.......way to keep up on that boy.  Does he know when you'll be calling?  Maybe he makes a mad rush to pick everthing the cam could catch.

A beautiful day here.  Kim and Paul (daughter and sil)took the boys for a walk/run at Empire Lake.  They have nice trails all over.  The dogs were glad to get out, and besides Kim and Paul can run with them, and I can't.  They're napping now.

Have fun at your sleep over, Marilyn. :)

I've been cold today, even with the good weather.  Cold and tired.  Maybe I should take a nap too. :)

Blessings everyone.  Nita

Marilyn

Thanks Nita. I'm sure it will be so much fun to be hooked up to a machine to help me breathe.

Whew! I am tired!  But I have everything all spiffied up!  I would like to sweep the deck but it is too cold.  Even though it didn't even get to 20°F today, I looked out one of my windows and counted 13 Robins.  So Spring it on the way!!

Marilyn ~ Could you post your church website again.  Slow dial up here.  15 minutes and still don't have the website up that Carol mentioned!

I will probably not be here tomorrow.  Too busy!  So see ya Tuesday!

Hope everyone gets over the sniffles!!

Here it is

It is almost time for me to head out for Eureka. I have my tarp in the car to cover the windsheild with and my pj's and slippers in a bag.

This morning after I took the tarp off the window I decided that the window needed cleaning so I sprayed it with the wiper spray and it froze as soon as it hit the window, when I tried to spray it again the spray was frozen and wouldn't come out by that time I was down at the corner and all I had to do was turn and go about 75 feet to the church driveway, so  just did it.
