Morning Devotional...

He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore His arm brought salvation unto Him.
Isa. 59:16

The Lord hath made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Isaiah 52:10

Some seek to demonstrate their strength by rolling up their shirtsleeves and arm wrestling another. Likewise, Isaiah metaphorically uses the arm eleven times to speak of God's delivering strength--Calvary being the greatest display.

At Calvary, God's bare arm hung between heaven and earth, took the nails I deserved and brought deliverance to my soul.

What strength!

O CHRIST, WHAT BURDENS BOWED THY HEAD (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/substitution.mp3)
(Click to hear music)

He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

Words: Anne R. Cousin (1824-1906)
Music:  Ira D. Sankey (1840-1908)

O Christ, what burdens bowed Thy head!
Our load was laid on Thee;
Thou stoodest in the sinner's stead,
Didst bear all ill for me.
A Victim led, Thy blood was shed;
Now there's no load for me.

Death and the curse were in our cup:
O Christ, 'twas full for Thee;
But Thou hast drained the last dark drop,
'Tis empty now for me.
That bitter cup, love drank it up;
Now blessing's draught for me.

Jehovah lifted up His rod;
O Christ, it fell on Thee!
Thou wast sore stricken of Thy God;
There's not one stroke for me.
Thy tears, Thy blood, beneath it flowed;
Thy bruising healeth me.

The tempest's awful voice was heard,
O Christ, it broke on Thee!
Thy open bosom was my ward,
It braved the storm for me.
Thy form was scarred, Thy visage marred;
Now cloudless peace for me.

Jehovah bade His sword awake;
O Christ, it woke 'gainst Thee!
Thy blood the flaming blade must slake;
Thine heart its sheath must be;
All for my sake, my peace to make;
Now sleeps that sword for me.

For me, Lord Jesus, Thou hast died,
And I have died in Thee!
Thou'rt ris'n—my hands are all untied,
And now Thou liv'st in me.
When purified, made white and tried,
Thy glory then for me!

Pat Good devotional.  Yet the bigness of our Lord God is unimagineable.  The metaphores help but even they are small in comparison.  Yet as we see in three dimentions I believe God sees 4 dimentionally.  The fourth covering time.  Imagine seeing the creation and the end all at the same time!!  Like Rich Mullins sang Our God is an awesome God!

It is late and I am soon off to bed.  Melaura has MSN downloading for me so that should  be working tomorrow.

Good night everyone and have a God day on the Lord's Day

I have a CD of Anthony Burger called "Anthony Burger Live"  and after reading some more of his Tributes, I found out that CD was recorded in Northern Ireland.  On that CD Anthony is talking about his two sons AJ and Austin.   The audience were thrilled and gave loud applause.  Every day more people post a tribute to Anthony Burger.  Most are from the singers on the Gaithers and they are saying that they are comforted to know that he is with Jesus now.

God bless

Pat, thanks for the encouraging Word.  It was a good day at church.  Also, in the afternoon I did some pre-marital counseling with a young couple.

It's good to see the new members here and to see them posting pictures.  I want my camera back so I can go look for the first signs of spring!  Maybe by the end of this week ::) .

In His Grip,

                                                     February 26, 2006
VERSE:
   In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that
God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live
through him.
    -- 1 John 4:9

THOUGHT:
   Love is an action. The Bible stresses this truth again and
again. Love must not only be spoken, it must also be shown. The
beginning of love is God. He showed his love in the most
sacrificial of ways so we could know our incredible value to him.
The price of our adoption was the emptying of heaven of its
greatest treasure, God the Son, who is our Savior.
PRAYER:
   Loving Father, thank you for adopting me into your family. I can
never thank you enough or repay you for your kindness, but please
receive the service of my life as my ongoing thanksgiving for your
grace and my small way of trying to share the love you have given
me. Through my Brother and my Ransom I pray. Amen.

Well, it couldn't last toooo long!  The clouds are back, and they are saying rain on and off for most of the week ahead.  So - for you easterners, that means it's coming your way, either as rain, snow, sleet, etc.  Are you ready for that?

This is going to be an important day.  Our church is having a special congregational meeting at 6 this evening.  It will be announced that our former worship leader has resigned and is going elsewhere.  May God continue to give us unity and peace.

Good Morning I am sitting here listening to a CD that Pastor Leroy gave me of his. He is singing some of the old southern gospel hymns etc. I couldn't read my email because some them have midis added. I finally found my tape of House of the Rising Sun that I use to sing Amazing Grace so I can practice for his TV program the next time he records.

Liz I always enjoy you  little funnies that you post. Please do not stop.

Janet good that you are home again and had anice relaxing weekend.

Pat and Chris thank you for the devotionls today.

Al and Marbeth stopped by on their way home from the movies yesterday to see how I am faring with that foot. Prayers have been answered and there is no pain in my foot even thought is all those different colors. The bruise on my nose is going away and it doesn't hurt either. Praise the Lord for the prayers of my brothers and sisters.

We are having an outside speaker this morning and this evening her name is Fay Clark, she has been coming to Abundant Life center for a lot of years.

I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1

Pat, I will pin myself to the map when I go to work Tuesday or Wednesday and have a faster internet connection.  That map is soooooooooooooooooo slow.  Actually, the map isn't slow, my 'puter is.

Nards has gone to church.  We kept the two kids home again.  Travis is still sniffly and "puny" and Kristi is still on antibiotics, so we are trying to keep them out of the public as much as possible.

I think I am ready for Spring.  It is a beautiful sunny day today, but extremely cold outside.

Hope all goes well.  My kids are growling at each other ??? so I'd better run.

Ohhh, I'm sorry Karma that you're finding the map slow.  I guess you can't get Google Earth to work on your puter either then.  That's too bad.

Will look for your pin mid-week then.   <3

I just checked the map again.  I think we have a potential disaster.  There's only 4 of us holding the west down, and all of you on the R side of the US.  What if we all tip over? :)

That's my problem, too ... Whenever I go to the map, and then do the zoom in thing a couple zooms, my puter freezes up and I have to reboot.  :-\  Soooo I have decided to stay away from the map or make it my last destination before leaving the big WWW.

I'm joining my friends in a couple hours to sing at the nursing home.  We sing while they're having their Sunday dinner.  They always stop by as they're leaving the dining room to thank us and tell us how much they enjoy our singing ... We enjoy it too!   ;D  We're not professionals but we sing from our love for the Lord and a desire to bless Him as He blesses the listeners.   ;)

Good afternoon!  Good to read all your posts today.  Beth was able to go to church today for the first time in a long while, praise the Lord!  She enjoyed it so much.

I need to get some stuff done around here, and since we don't have services this evening (Pastor and wife are leaving for a prayer summit) I have this afternoon to get started getting said stuff done.  :-\ (Or something like that.)

Karma, I surely hope those two lovely kids of yours get well soon and stay that way!

We saw such a mischevious side of our pastor this trip!  Goodness, he and JoLynn are both so "ornery!"   :o  But so much fun, too.  ;D

I need to go see about putting my pin on the map, if I can figure out how to do it.  See you later!

Without highway numbers or town names, it is hard to know if you are getting stuck in the right spot, but I tried to do it.  ^-^

One would think, from that map, that Kansas City and Wichita were the only two cities in the whole state of Kansas.  :idiot:

I tried again; found Hutchinson and a few others, but none in my area.  Then it said it couldn't get closer or something.  Oh, well, no matter anyhow. :P

I received a phone call from my friend Kitty down south during the service this morning, (I  keep my cell phone on because I am on call 24-7 for my clients) She told me that Pastor Bill English had a massive heart attack this morning and was being Life Flighted to the Veterans hospital somewhere in Southern California around there some place. Please pray for him and for his wife Lenora.

When I was putting in my push pin I changed the map from Hybrid to Map.  Then I saw my highways and streets.  Then I changed it back to Hybrid and added my pushpin on the roof of my house!  Did anyone notice the long streak by my house going north and south?  That is where they removed sod...the farm land is a sod farm.  It looks like a road but that is bare dirt.  And did you see the two houses to the right of me.  Ivalou is in the first house, Kaye Don the second house!  Close, aren't we?

Church was awesome as usual.  Tiring because I am trying to have everything ready for the substitute for when I am in Florida.  So I want to get 4 weeks ahead!  Just about did that today.  Truly, I am getting burnt out doing the tape duplicating every Sunday.  Would be nice to have a Sunday off from it and then go out to eat with some ladies from church after the services.  It would be nice for my back, as well.

I am cold.  Have been ever since I got home today.

Oh, yeah!  Now I am need of buying two new tires before going to Florida.  The tire that was aired up Thursday was low again today.  So I need to get my plumbing redone, washer fixed and two new tires.  There goes my tax refund!!

Janet, I don't see your pin.

I also see Garden City and lots of places.  I think you didn't zoom in enough.

Dodge City is there and I just don't know where Ulysses is in relation to these.

After you put your pin on the map, you don't go to your profile again to view the map or clicking on it will take your pin off.  You use the MemberMap button up top on this page.

Oh my, Pat!  Poor Biscuit.  What a shock that had to be for her.  She's on my prayer list for the peace and comforting arms of Jesus.

We got over 8 inches of snow yesterday and although neighbors cleared my driveway and porches so that there was only a couple of inches this morning, my car was almost invisible.  With the thermometer showing zero and fairly brisk wind, I decided I didn't need frostbitten hands and toes so I stayed home from church.  A disappointment, because I had planned on breakfast (served by the Sunday School) at church before the service when the chalk artist was scheduled.   :'(

Just got back from church and the restaurant after.  I was telling someone that my heart had all these extra beats but my arteries are okay.  After I mentioned that I had retired, she said "that's probably why the extra beats, it takes a long time to adjust to retirement"  Her mother is a doctor, so she knows something about health.  She said "Oh you will be okay"    Then I told her I was working at EE Canada and she said.  "Well please don't overdo it"    So I won't.

God Bless
