Morning Devotional... As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. Song of Solomon 2:3
How special is the bridegroom to his bride. All others are like the trees of the forest, but he is different!
He stands out like an apple tree in the woods.
This is how the Lord Jesus is, or should be, to those of us who belong to Him.
He is like an apple tree in a forest, that forest being all that the world has to offer, its fame, riches and might. All its attractions, honors and famous people are like so much ordinary forest.
We have the Lord!
When was the last time you told Him how special He is to you?
~Carl KnottOh, this is my Beloved,
there's none so fair as He;
The chief among ten thousand,
He's all in all to me.
--James G. Deck
Thank you Pat for today's devotional. It has brought to my memory this song....
Jesus, Name above all names
Beautiful Saviour, Glorious Lord
Emanuel, God is with us
Blessed Redeemer, Living Word
I hope that Jesus, the Lamb of God, is special to all who come to CP.
God Bless

I am.
Hi All..
Its not the 4th yet where I am at but, will post for the Day-Its going to be a busy day for us-Our Sons birthday is today and we will go to church and then come home and get ready for his bd party.
Its hard to believe that he is going to be 5..It amazes me how time goes by-I read a wonderful devotion tonight about God Demonstrating his love for us-talking about Mommas rocking there babies and how when we hold our children close in our arms, our Heavenly Father's love for us is revealed. He's Holding us as we hold them.
Ohh Lord, may I never forget the feel of Your little ones in my arms. I praise you for the privilege of being the instrument of Your love and care for them.
I thought that was such an awesome Devotional.
Its hard to believe but, School starts back up this next Monday-This Next Semester I am teaching the children Character Building and found an awesome site where I am able to get the books for like 4.95-I will be teaching Obedience , Kindness and Compassion in the Character Building, along with their other studies.
Tonight I cleaned alot and I am so tired, I cleaned the kitchen blinds, removing each of them and cleaning them on both sides, then drying them and hanging each of them back up-I probably worked on them for 3 hours or more-my body is so sore from standing their cleaning/hanging etc.
Well, I am going to say goodnight and I hope that all of you have a blessed day tomorrow.
Hugs in Jesus
Rachelle
Good Night Lee. I guess you were just off to bed when I came back in doing a (https://www.christianphotographers.com/forum/smi/happydance.gif)
Hi Rachelle.
After spending virtually all day Saturday trying to get my computer microphone working, I had given up in frustration and came into CP for a last read before bed and discovered that I could no longer hear the songs that Pat had posted for us, and decided to try again. I still am not totally sure how I did it, but now have it working again!
I pray that everyone else who has 'sick' computers gets theirs fixed. It is not fun when you have to 'baby' your computer.
Now time to go for some much needed slumber for myself I think!
Night everyone! Talk to you later.
GOOD MORNING SUNDAY 11.10 AM IN HOLLAND
PAT thank you very much for the devotional this morning also for the very nice hyms yesterday.
IT is terrible wetter in Holland this night we have had a very little bit snow but now freezing over it is icy. I am staying in home. The hole day it will be icy in Holland.
Larry i also say we must wait till our
Saviour is coming back then will there be peace not now we also can read it in the Bible what there all will
be in the END TIME.
Yesterday again a parcel with a bomb.
Holland was always a peacefull country but now not more,
The only thing we can do is reading in our Bibles and pray that can us given peace.
Our computer is also very slow there is standing to much on. He must clean and have a new start.
But we can that not do by ourself. WE have no virussen
when i am on the computer the virusscanner is working
also the firewall. And when someone us send a mail my
server scan the mail and when they find a virus then they put the mail away i only get a message and the spamfilter is working.
Hebrews 6:19
WE have this hope as an
anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
LOVE, GRACE, MERCY
Thank you for filling my past and my present
with Your love and Your grace and Your mercy
Thank you for the promise
that i will spend all my tomorrows with You.
I wish you all a BLESSED SUNDAY
Bye love Ria
Good-afternoon from England...just.12.20 p.m.
Oh Pat, that's a lovely devotional...and I have just gone in to see the last [posts for yesterday. Lovely music. I was late going to bed as you know but I just couldn't stay up anylonger though I saw you were posting some more beautiful words for us.
Ria Have you compacted your files? I have and things are going much faster on here now.
My little cat Becky is leaping on and off the table..must go now or she will be posting for me. Might make a better job of it...haha!
Soni mentioned the film "Freaky Friday"last night., It has good reviews over here. The star, Jamie Lee Curtis is a fav. of mine. Lovely lady.
This is what C.P. does:-
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing"
Ps100:1-2
See you later dear brethren.
Love Jenny
Sunday morning and I have to leave in a few minutes.
I wasn't online at all yesterday. Home all day but the pc wasn't even turned on. Decided to let my arm rest and it did.
I think it is raining out. Inky and Ali are getting along good now. Inky chases Ali. Then Ali chases Inky. What a twosome. Wonder what will be broken first. Inky is totally different than Ali. My ceiling fan in the bedroom has long chains on it so my Mother could turn it on and off from the bed. Well, Inky can turn it on and off also!!!!
Gotta go.
I am praying that everyone has a God-filled day.

Personal Life: A Friend of God
And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and
it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the
friend of God.
--James 2:23
After all, what higher privilege and experience is granted to mankind
on earth than to be admitted into the circle of the friends of God?...
It is well for us to remember that Divine-human friendship originated
with God. Had God not first said "You are My friends," it would be
inexcusably brash for any man to say, "I am a friend of God." But
since God claims us for His friends, it is an act of unbelief to deny
the offer of such a relationship....
The spiritual giants of old were those who at some time became
acutely conscious of the presence of God. They maintained that
consciousness for the rest of their lives....
The essential point is this: These were men who met and experienced
God! How otherwise can the saints and prophets be explained? How
otherwise can we account for the amazing power for good they have
exercised over countless generations?
Is it not that indeed they had become friends of God? Is it not that
they walked in conscious communion with the real Presence and
addressed their prayers to God with the artless conviction that they
were truly addressing Someone actually there? Men Who Met God,
13-14.
"Compared with those saints of old, Father, I seem to know so
little of that conscious communion with Your real Presence! I pray
that throughout this year I might catch a glimpse of what that
means, and might increasingly move into the intimate joy of
experiencing You as a personal Friend. Amen."
Margit and I have caught that bug from Jenny,
we both went to bed last night feeling rough, and spent the night coughing and with a very sore throat, hence no church today >:(
And I'm back in work tomorrow, oh boy!
BTW. I'm amazed by how many ways there are to spell CALENDAR! LOL :D
Even Al our editor lol. :) ;) :D
Thank goodness Pat got it right.
love to all.

Have a wonderful Birthday Zachary! Remember to save me a piece of cake. OH YA!!! You have to blow out all 5 of those candles! ;D
Good Morning everyone and a belated Happy New Year to all. This greeting is somewhat late but I was in Tennesse over New years and just got home last night. It was a good trip as my son drove a second truck with a load for the same destination as mine and that gave us some much needed father son time and rekindling old memories from 2or 3 years ago.We had good weather for the most part, just a little rain. I have just finished catching up on all the messages that were posted on CP while I was away and now must start getting ready for church so I will be back later today.
God Bless veryone. John.
Well, look here, a bright red fire engine all for yourself 8), but it's not every day that one celebrates a birthday. May we jump on to join the celebration?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Zachery

Regards from England. :) ;)
Good Sunday morning. It is overcast here with still a bit of snowfall in the air. Very dark yesterday with snow falling all day long. We are not plowed yet.
Judy: We watched the old movie "Charade" last night - just love the intrigue and clean language that is so far gone.
Larry: I didn't know that there is any anti-smut legislation - will have to try to find that.
Chris & Margrit: Both of you indisposed at the same time. Not fair. The one who is sick is supposed to be coddled and waited on. ;)
Etta Sue: Stay off the computer for a while & get that arm mended - just time yourself and that might help. LOL on Inky turning the overhead lights on. We could never have a cat because one son is allergic to cats to the point of wheezing and breaking out in hives.
Soni: What a terrific card you made for Zachery.
It is a very dark morning but the message of the Light of the Lord is all around us.
Carol

"If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me."
Matthew 16:24
Words: Jessie B. Pounds, in Living Praises No. 2, by Charles Gabriel and W. W. Dowling (St. Louis, Missouri: Christian Publishing Co., 1906).
Music: Charles H. Gabriel
I must needs go home by the way of the cross,
There's no other way but this;
I shall ne'er get sight of the gates of light,
If the way of the cross I miss.
Refrain
The way of the cross leads home,
The way of the cross leads home,
It is sweet to know as I onward go,
The way of the cross leads home.
I must needs go on in the blood sprinkled way,
The path that the Savior trod,
If I ever climb to the heights sublime,
Where the soul is at home with God.
Refrain
Then I bid farewell to the way of the world,
To walk in it never more;
For the Lord says, "Come," and I seek my home,
Where He waits at the open door.

It is the LORD'S DAY! It isn't His special day as though none of the other days were His, but it is special because He rose from the dead on that day. HE LIVES! Worship His majesty!
I am going to get ready for church. Have fun!
brrrsss... :o it is 0 degrees here. Wow! It is cold! :o
It's cold here too, Sonja. But no snow YET!! We're supposed to get some later on today though. Nothing like Lee is having though in Idaho I hope!!!
If you feel stuck,
bring your whole
self to Christ,
not just the problem,
but YOU.

Hi Carol...don't you know our Chris gets coddled all the time. Doesn't he Margit?
Chris O.K. so I am your scapegoat..if it's any consolation I am still suffering. It's gone to bronchitis now. I feel rough. Had just got over one bad flu and then this on top.. P'raps now you've got it I might feel the release. Sorry dear brother and sister, but we are meant to share! Get well soon. Don't think you will be well enough for work tomorrow Chris, please use wisdom dear bro. Get your "anti-virus" on...ha ha!
Etta Sue Glad your arm is improved from the rest.
Pat I love the hymn. Thank-you. Without crucifixion there is no resurrection. No short cuts on this journey I am afraid but we are so lucky that Jesus our "forerunner" has gone ahead of us. We know the end of the story. Thank-you Lord Jesus. I love you dear Saviour. Take us higher Lord, up onto the mountains.
Cold, so cold here. Sky is full of snow. So far only a smattering has fallen.
God Bless.
Speak soon.

Good morning from a rather damp and cold coast of Oregon. Today is communion and potluck at our church (1st Sunday). It is also our Pastor's daughter, Sarah's, birthday. We will not have an evening service today.
PAT~ I must tell you that song "The Way Of The Cross Leads Home" was a favorite of my mother. She loved it, and we had it sung at her memorial service. Thank you.
Have a good day and I'll check back in later.
Hi everyone. We are just back from church and then going out to eat with a group of 13. Now we are awaiting our son coming over to pick up a neck pillow Pat made for him to take with him on his trip to China this week. He is very excited about the trip and will be gone for about 10 days. He and a fellow worker are staying on a couple of days after the work is done to do some sight-seeing in Hong Kong (I think it is). They are going to a city in China first.
Happy Birthday, Zachery. Hope you have a great party today.
Sorry to hear of those among our CP family that are ailing and sure hope that tomorrow finds you all feeling better. There is a lot of sickness down here as well. However, we are not having the cold weather and today it is up to 70 degrees with rain predicted tonight or tomorrow.
We had sad news among our church family this morning in that an 88 year old sister of one of our members was abducted as she left her job as a greeter at a McDonald's and she was murdered apparently for her pocketbook. Needless to say everyone is in a state of shock. What evil exists in this world.
Jane, today was communion at our church and we took it by intinction, which we do everyother month. The in-between months the communion is served in the pews.
Carol, I don't remember the name of the congressman who has introduced the anti-smut legislation.
Dear Jenny, you have my sympathy, it is awful to feel the cattarrh at the back of the throat, and the continual barking cough which hurts the throat, and keeps you awake,
We wish you healing and strength in Jesus name,
bless you sister, lets pray for each other. :)

Home from church, The Incredible dog competition is on the TV. So I am watching that. I think Ice Skating is on today too.

This is for Zachary!
Hey, everybody, look at me!
Today I'm FIVE years old, you see.
And I never will be four,
Not ever, ever, any more.
First I'll be five a while, and then,
I'll soon be something else again!
There are bare patches showing in our back yard. But I don't think they will for long. Tonight and tomorrow are supposed to bring winter back. Just in time for me to go to work. :-\ But that's OK. I don't have to travel over the mountain any more, I have a good safe car, the road crews are on the ball in our town, and when I get home everything will be warm and snug and Gene will have a steaming hot cup of coffee ready for me. Isn't the Lord good?
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fusers.adelphia.net%2F%7Epairajeans%2Fsmile7.gif&hash=2ff88f5e1646cd73910cdf1a2608646c7cde0692)
Hi guys and gals! I stopped in for just a minute this morning, but before I had caught up on reading the posts, it was time to go to church.
Our pastor used the problems the K-State Quarterback caused to enforce some moral lessons, which I certainly agree with......first, that in breaking the rule (not to mention the moral sin he committed) he should NOT have been allowed to play. Second, that Snider (and we all like the coach) by letting him play, jeopardized the curfew rule from this time forward. Third, that you cannot hide your sins---sin always brings consequences.
The sad thing in all of this (to me) is that Roberson didn't only cause the team to lose the biggest game of the year, he jeopardized his future career. Two scouts who went to the game just to check him out, left when they heard what he had done.
But I think, saddest of all is the hurt he caused so many thousands of people---the team, the support groups from the school, tens of thousands of fans, family members, etc. It goes on and on and on. This is just one example of the lack of morals now, the idea of sex as "recreation." God, help us! It reminds me of that poem about the ripples in the water. I will go find it so I can copy it here.
I learned so much in Sunday school today. We studied Prov. 1:1-19 The verse that really jumped out at me was
5) A wise man will listen and increase his learning, and a discerning man will obtain guidance
If you ask yourself "Who is a wise man?" What is your answer? A wise man is someone who listens. You can not listen if you are to busy talking. I will be going through this with my kids this week for our bible study.
Sometimes when you are with a friend or a family member do you try to get the last word in? I know I do sometimes. How do you feel when that happens to you. Do you feel like they don't care about what happened in your life or the good or bad news that you may have?
I am going to try this year to consentrate on them and not me. Why does it always have to be me?
Just a thought!
We also read this during our praising time.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper then any toeedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
What are your thoughts on this?
Psalms 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Sonja, that was a wonderful post, and I agree with you 100%!
Here is the poem. I hope you like it as much as I do!
DROP A PEBBLE IN THE WATER
Drop a pebble in the water: just a splash, and it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on an on,
Spreading, spreading from the center, flowing on out to the sea.
And there is no way of telling where the end is going to be.
Drop a pebble in the water: in a minute , you forget,
But there's little waves a-flowing, and there's ripples circling yet,
And those little waves a-flowing to a great big wave have grown;
You've disturbed a mighty river just by dropping in a stone.
Drop an unkind word, or careless: in a minute it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on.
They keep spreading, spreading, spreading from the center as they go,
And there's no way to stop them, once you've started them to flow.
Drop an unkind word or careless: ina minute you forget;
But there's little waves a-flowing, and there's ripples circling yet,
And perhaps in some sad heart a mighty wave of tears you've stirred,
And disturbed a life was happy ere you dropped that unkind word.
Drop a word of cheer and kindness: just a flash and it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on,
Bearing hope and joy and comfort on each splashing, dashing wave
Till you wouldn't believe the volume of the one kind word you gave.
Drop a word of cheer and kindness: in a minute you forget;
But there's gladness still a-swelling, and there's joy a-circling yet,
And you've rolled a wave of comfort whose sweet music can be heard
Over miles and miles of water just by dropping one kind word.
--James W. Foley
What wonderful posts in here so far today! Thanks so much folks.
Sonja, you had a wonderful time in Sunday School! Great! Thanks for sharing.
And Janet, you are sharing lots of nice poems and snippets. Thanks for them. I'm opening a little folder on my computer (when it's fixed :( ) for these.
Sorry, Jenny and Chris and Margit that you are all ill. Get better soon!
Yes, Jeanne, I think our "spring-like" weather is soon to end. It's snowing at present in Windsor/Detroit and that's just about 300 km from here.
I have my first appointment at the Dental College on Thursday so hopefully, it won't be a bad day for driving.
Hope you're having a great birthday party in Idaho for little Zachery, Rachelle. Glad you came in here and told us about it.
Chris..........
Yep, that's a gotcha......Calendar :P
Now I'm going to redeem myself. Take note and DO it. Go to your local pharmacy and purchase a cold remedy named ZICAM. It looks exactly like a nose spray, but it isn't. Follow the instructions to the letter and I PROMISE you, your cold will start to clear-up within eight hours. No phony baloney on this one. I was turned on to it the day my cold started Four days ago. I was stuffed-up, nose running, and my head was full with the warm breath coming from my nose. Awesome stuff. Who ever said there was no cure for the common cold. I'm now a believer.
[size=4Thanks Lee! I putter on the list![/size]
Interesting reading today folks and where are all the men today. Comne on guys lets get some more messages on CP.
Ruth Ann I will certainly let you know if I am coming into the NAshville area or if I don't find out I will get Judy to let you know I always find it nice to meet peole along the way. It helps break the lonliness of the road. Thanks for the invite.
Church was interesting today as the pastor who happens to be a car buff used a tire on the platform as a way to illustrate his message. this man never stops amazing me. It was an effective message though as a number of people went forward after the service for prayer. One thing I really enjoy about our pastor is the fact that he is real. There is nothing artificial about this amn and he is very much in tune with what is going on around him. I spoke with the director of the truckers chapels that I work with on a part time basis as a volunteer and he related some of the plans for the coming year. we are going to start a chapel in Quebec this year as well as start the work going in our area in Northern Ontarion. I enjoy being involved with this ministry as I have inside knowledge of it's importance. It gives trtuckers a place to come for fellowship as well as conselling if they are having problems or if they just need someone to listen and provide a place to relax. Life on the road is not always easy for the men and women who move freight across our continent. I would appreciate your prayers for this ministry as we move forward this year that we may move in Gods timing and and follow his lead. The ministry relies enirely on donations and all fulltime chaplians raise their own support.
Well we are visiting with my son and his family at the moment so I will go for now but will check back before I turn in tonight.
In Christ John.

You DO need to get your PC fixed. I sent a couple of updated shots of myself (That you asked for). Weather cold today -10 F. I also have a couple of mountain and sunset shots to send.
Janet..........
Like you, I completely disagree with the morality of the KC quarterback, but, If I'm not mistaken, the local prosecutor said there was insufficient evidence to prove he committed the act. Perhaps the media has him guilty before he is able to offer a defense. I watched the game and it was obvious he was not up to speed. Either way, let's pray for him. Been there, and forgiven.
Lee, it is true that there was insufficient evidence for charges to be filed. What I find so dismaying is that he did commit the act (consensually). Why can't they just behave??? But, yes, he does need prayer, and I was thinking earlier today that I hope someone goes to him and witnesses to him about the love and forgiveness of Jesus, and that He paid the price for Ell Roberson's sins on the cross.
They stated that the girl/woman involved was "obsessed" with Roberson. That is sad, too.
Anyhow, it is now history, and I promise no more about it from me! ;D ;D ;D
One mother told me after church that they used it as a life-lesson to their sons. "Be sure your sins will find you out!"
BEING MISERABLE IS A HABIT; BEING HAPPY IS A HABIT; AND THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
Thank you Pat for today's devotional. It has brought to my memory this song....
Jesus, Name above all names
Beautiful Saviour, Glorious Lord
Emanuel, God is with us
Blessed Redeemer, Living Word
So true
Mel
Good evening all! Don't know if I shared with you all or not, but my Senior Pastor's daughter, 23 years old, was killed in an auto accident 3 days before Christmas. The funeral was last Monday, and our senior pastor preached at the funeral. However, because they are still recovering from the blow, and because he is seeking the Lord over this issue, our assistant pastor preached a wonderful message this morning.
This being the first Sunday of the new year, he spoke to us about setting our spiritual rudder for the new year. He spoke about all the people in the 11th chapter of Hebrews that were written about in the bible. What they did to be remembered in this great book? THEY SAID "YES" to God. They said Yes to a relationship with God, and Yes to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and Yes to empowerment, and Yes to the MISSION. This is so exciting, because I really feel that I am called to the mission field. Phil 3:12...I press on that I may lay hold of THAT for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me... Everybody's "THAT" is different, but we must PRESS IN - don't pull back.
Faith says believing is seeing!
Please continue to life up the Warnock family during this time of grief. Thanks.
I'm so saddened by this, Nancy. I remember the night we were talking on Yahoo when you said you had a phone call and this was the news. Such a sad time for the family. Yes, I'll be remembering them as I have been.
Thanks for coming in and reminding us about this.
I hope you have a great New Year, Nancy. Sounds like that was a wonderful service in your church.
It is 9:30 and we are going to Dodge to pick up Beth. It sure feels odd to be going somewhere at this time of night. We will have time to pick up some film for the underwater camera at Wal-Mart before we go out to the airport. Talk to you all tomorrow! Sweet dreams!
Early tonight.
I've had to take some meds for pain and I may not be awake at midnight!
So, please continue your discussion in tomorrow's topic.
