JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit. . . night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
Mark 5:2, 5

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 Corinthians 3:17

It is an interesting paradox that an excess of freedom leads to bondage. In the name of independence, mankind allows itself to run rampant from the standards of God's holiness.

The end of this journey of self gratification is a sad one--it is a place of bondage, weeping and death, yet it is a place where Jesus comes.

And as He delivered this man, He will deliver you and bring you into the joy of dependence on Him--the place of true liberty.
--S. McEachern

And Can it Be That I Should Gain[/u]
(Click to hear music]

Suddenly there was a great earthquake,
so that the foundations of the prison were shaken;
and immediately all the doors were opened
and everyone's chains were loosed.
Acts 19:26

Words: Charles Wesley, Psalms and Hymns, 1738.
Music: "Sagina," Thomas Campbell, 1835

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior's blood!
Died He for me who caused His pain!
For me who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

'Tis mystery all: th'Immortal dies!
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.
'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father's throne above
(so free, so infinite His grace!),
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam's helpless race.
'Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
'Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature's night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray;
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th'eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th'eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

Well, CP was down!

I wonder how many of you noticed.  I know that Al Moak noticed as he wrote to me.  I've just received his email now.

Glad we're back.

Yup, PAT ... I sure did notice!   ::)  I tried for a while and then just shut down and watched TV for the rest of the evening.   :P  I'm glad everything is working now, too!
I really enjoyed looking at your photo galleries ... I'll be back!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

True freedom comes from surrender; not to man but to God through Jesus.  The companion of freedom is responsibility; imposed not by others but imposed by a true love for our neighbours.

Self gratification often robs others of their own dignity and freedom and as Pat has said will lead us down a path riddled with remorse and and an unwanted sense of guilt.

Pat: I cannot seem to be able to view your Rose of Sharon photo.

The Church: Church Organization

For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the
things that are lacking and appoint elders in every city as I
commanded you.
--Titus 1:5

I am and have been for years much distressed about the tendency to
over-organize the Christian community, and I have for that reason
had it charged against me that I do not believe in organization. The
truth is quite otherwise.

The man who would oppose organization in the church must needs be
ignorant of the facts of life. Art is organized beauty; music is
organized sound; philosophy is organized thought; science is
organized knowledge; government is merely society organized. And what
is the true church of Christ but organized mystery?...

Many church groups have perished from too much organization, even as
others from too little. Wise church leaders will watch out for both
extremes. A man may die as a result of having too low blood pressure
as certainly as from having too high, and it matters little which
takes him off. He is equally dead either way. The important thing in
church organization is to discover the scriptural balance between two
extremes and avoid both.  God Tells the Man Who Cares, 30.

"Give us wisdom, Lord, to operate with good organization and wise
business practices. But keep us from being so organized that the Holy
Spirit has no room to work. Amen."

Yes indeed, freedom has great resposibility, freedom, not to rule over others but to serve them, no government without responsibilty, no freedom without the same.
"He who would be greatest among you must serve the others."
True freedom is only found in serving God and others. :)

Just as CP was "down" yesterday for a few hours, Photo-Sense is down today as they've been moving servers at the webhoster all weekend so there's a few steps still to take and then PS will be back...thus the Red X.  This happens on sites all the time.  SeniorNet had problems from July 1 to July 5 where we couldn't use FTP or do other functions on the site.  Guess as volunteers, we just learn to live with these hiccups.

Good Morning: Thank you Pat and Chris for the devotionals this morning, it is so good to get up each day, come in here and find these wonderful devotionals and special words to start my day.

Happy Lord's day, This is the day the Lord hath made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.

I am looking forward to a wonderful season of prayer as the few of us gather in the sanctuary this morning for prayer meeting. We pray individually for 45 minutes then gather at the front by the altar, hold hands and each one prays in agreement with the others, for the service, the worship team, Teen Challenge, the sick  etc.etc.

Now I will check the prayer requests here then get ready for church.

Yes, Pat, I noticed that CP was down.  So I shut down my computer and read for a while.

Papa John, you are so right!  And it is very hot here!  But no way was I going to let Darrel be out there doing that hard work without helping him.  We do pretty well know our limits now, though.  Neither one of us can do a full day of hard work like we used to do.  Thanks for the advice!  :)

Our pastor is preaching on "Signs of the End Times" this morning and I am really looking forward to it.

Liz, you reminded me that we have hundreds of record albums, too!  We should get a record player into the house (have some in the garage) and start listening to music again.  We have some really good ones.

Etta Sue, I'm surely glad you and your passengers made it home fine through the storm.  Like the storms of life, it didn't last long!  ;D

I need to start getting ready for church now, will be back this afternoon.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone on this beautiful Sunday.  It is very clear right now and getting warmer by the hour here in Georgia.

We did not go to church this morning as I didn't feel well during the night and am tired today so decided to take it easy and stay in where it is cool.  Hopefully by tomorrow I will be ready to resume my walking regime at the "Y" following the vacation period.

We may have the opportunity tomorrow and for a couple more days to do a little paid work.  There is an advertising company very close by and they have a lot of political materials to get into envelopes and mailed in the next few days.  They pay only $7.50 an hour but I have few opportunities to earn any additional money and I can certainly sit and stuff envelopes for a few hours.  I am hopeful this will result in periodic little job opportunities but will have to wait and see.

Pat, I did find the CP site down yesterday evening as when I tried to load pages from the site to read on my laptop I couldn't get a connection.  Knew it would be back up soon so didn't worry about it.

Janet, that sounds like very hard work and do hope you and Darrell pace yourselves in the hot weather.

Papa John, I think you and Cornelia would enjoy the movie "Terminal".  I was told yesterday that it is based on a true story, modified for the screen, of a man who is still living in the terminal in Paris and has been for a long time.  I thought it was just a fantasy tale but guess this shows that truth is stranger than fiction.

Etta Sue, glad you had a good trip and know you will enjoy having the children close-by for a few days.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Janet

Larry, if I had the opportunity to do that envelope stuffing job, I would jump at the chance, too!  I'm sure the money will come in handy, there are always things we need or want----usually to help our kids out again, right?

Church was great!  Pastor listed 19 signs of the End Times and the soon coming of Jesus!  Next Sunday morning he is preaching on the Tribulation.  I like his preaching a lot!

I think I may take a nap today, had another one of "those" nights, was awake from midnight until around 6 this morning.  I finally got up and went to the living room and read for a couple of hours until I felt I might be able to sleep.

I called the kids on Jeff's cell phone today.  They were in a Dollar Store in Branson, said they are having a good time and will be driving home tomorrow.  I am missing all of them but glad they are having some family time away from the stresses of their businesses.

Enough of this chatter!  See you later!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I'm house sitting for friends through most of July, and her computer won't let me on the internet now - something odd with the zone alarm program, as best I can tell.

At any rate, since it's a 50-mile round trip to my home, I won't be able to check CP nearly as often until July is over.

Y'all have a good day - I love you with the love of my Lord.

Ruth Ann

I thought this little story was very fitting for a site called Christian Photographers!  Enjoy!

Pictures In Time"
By Joseph Mazzella

We have a lot of photo albums in our home. We tend to
take plenty of pictures at holidays, on trips, or even
when we are just playing around the house.

My oldest son and I are the two "hams" of the family.
Neither one of us minds getting our picture taken, and
we always smile for the camera.

Recently my wife moved the photo albums into the living
room, so we could get to them easier. My son now looks
through them almost everyday. The pictures seem to bring
him endless delight, and I have found myself looking at
them more often as well.

The pictures I see in these albums bring me so much joy.
They bring back a rich storehouse of happy memories and
remind me of all the beautiful times when my children
were still babies.

They remind me of all the special moments I have shared
with the people I love, that time passes quickly, and that
every moment in this life is precious. I value these
pictures more than I do the money in my wallet.

I have even "inherited" some old photo albums so to speak.
After my Mom died, my Dad passed on to me some of the old
family photo albums that she had kept up so well. Now my
children can see their Dad when he was just a boy, and I
can see my Mom when she was just a young girl.

It brings me a special happiness to see my family history
in all its richness unfold before my eyes in these pictures.

Take some time every now and then to look at your old
photographs. They will do a lot to remind you of all the
loving and joyous moments you have had in your life. They
may even inspire you to go out and create some more.

Remember, God only put us here for a short time. Let's
not waste a second of it frowning at the camera.

Papa John

Good Sunday afternoon.

Ruth Ann, if you happen to be near one of our branch libraries you can drop in and get on line with their computers.  Cornelia and I visited the library down town some time ago and I had no trouble finding anything on the computers.

Larry, I had heard that the movie Terminal is based on a true experience.  Sounds like a strange situation to me.  Maybe this week we will go by to see it.  Hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

Janet, that is a nice article about family photos.  We like to go back and look at the pictures we made when our children were little.  It brings back so many good memories.

James wrote, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2-3 (NKJ)
