Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

The soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on His head.
John 19:2

Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns.
John 19:5

There are some fifty mentions of thorns in our Bible, and from the first
reference in Genesis 3:18 they are invariably a sad reminder of the fall of man and the subsequent curse.

Here, in Pilate's judgment hall, the Saviour wears a crown of thorns, almost like a painful prophecy that soon, very soon, at Golgotha, He will bear the curse on behalf of others (Gal. 3:13).
--Jim Flanigan

He bore the curse;
He bore it all;
Nor let one murmuring accent fall,
Through all the scenes of woe.

Hi everyone.

I see I am first to post after the fine devotional this morning.  I am so glad that Christ was willing to wear that crown of thorns for you and me. What a sacrifice.

Happy Birthday Judy.

Ohenry, that sounds like it will be a lovely trip.  Do you have an RV and do you do RV'ing very often?  Know you will be sorry to see your wife have to leave again for Alaska but sure she is needed there.

Jane, isn't it always a joy to share singing with the folks at the nursing home.  I find the folks at Calvin Cove at our church also seem to really enjoy singing and I enjoy playing the piano for them and leading the singing.

Kevin, do you have that experience very often when you are photographing sweets and delicious things?  :)

Marilyn, so sorry about your fall.  It seems like you are having several of these in the last few months.  Glad you didn't break anything or that your dog didn't get away from you.

We will be going to Sunday School and church before too long.  Then I think the group plans on going to a new place to eat called Lavender.  It is a Thai/Chinese/American small cafe.  Pat and I have started diets yesterday so will have to be careful about what we eat but we don't want to give up going out with friends on Sunday as we enjoy it so much.

Hope everyone has a great day.  It is going to be hot and humid here again today.  We had only a very, very short shower yesterday.

ohenry

Great morning to everyone.  It's a beautiful Sunday morning here...another masterpiece from the Master.

Larry:  yes, we have a travel trailer, although we don't seem to get the use out of it that we'd like to get.  It will also be hot here, but without the humidity that plagues your area.  I spent most of my life in areas that have high humidity and I know full well how uncomfortable that can be.

Pat: a nice short reminder of what He did for us.  Praise the Lord!

QuoteI am so glad that Christ was willing to wear that crown of thorns for you and me. What a sacrifice.
Larry:  Amen to your words.

Judy:  Happy Birthday to you...... Can you hear me singing?

This Sunday morning we must get out early as another day of over 100 degrees is predicted.

Marilyn:  The Clydesdale horses are at a farm here - not an ordinary farm as it is the beer company.  You should see how beautiful & clean the stalls are with t.v. cameras on the prized horses.  So calm and gentle.  Take care & I hope that owie mends quickly.

Etta Sue:  You bet that people can hear the difference between a Harley & the others.   Take care, I assume you are still driving often.

Kevin:  Glad that you think young!

Carol

I couldn't turn my head off last night.  I was awake at 1, 2 and 3 a.m.  Got up and messed around on the computer and went back to bed at 4 something.  The alarm went off at 6:30 a.m.  I shut it off and went back to sleep.  Woke up at 8:15.  Called church and told them I wouldn't be there today.  Now I feel bad that I didn't make the effort to go to church.  But too late now.

It's 11:15 and it is 85 degrees already!  Whew!  With a humidity of a thousand...it feels!

Well ... A hot day here is 70° and it's been hovering near that these past few days.  However the humidity was at 100% Friday! :o  BTW Coos Bay is right on the coast and only about 25 miles north of Bandon.  Have a great time there with the RV'ers ... My daughter and I spent the day on the 4th there.   ;)

PAT the devotional this morning brings to mind another song we sang at the Nursing Home on Friday (and one we sing often) "A Crown of Thorns" ( Do you happen to have that in your midi library?)

Larry, I really do enjoy singing at the nursing home.  It is fun to be with my friends and "making melody" but even more enjoyable to see the smiles of pleasure it brings from the people there.  Some even join in and sing along as they recall the old familiar songs.  It brings an hour of light into an otherwise not so brignt day for them.

Marilyn I checked out your Gallery photos of the Clydesdales ... You did a good job of resizing them.

I'm just taking it easy today as I am not feeling up to par ... and I don't have much else to do anyway.   :)

I trust all y'all have a truly blessed day and enjoy the presence of the Lord.

Hi Everyone from hot sticky Guelph.  Each time I go upstairs to the ground floor, the sweat all beads up and I just grab what I want and come back down to the basement.  This is HOT for sure.

Jane, what are the words of the first verse please?

Jane, what are the words of the first verse please?

I'm trying to remember .... "There was no crown for Him of silver or of gold; there was no diadem for Him to hold ..... (memory lapse here)
Chorus: "A rugged cross became His throne; His kingdom was in hearts alone; He shed His blood of crimson red and wore  a crown of thorns upon His head"

P.S. It's a song by Ira Stanphill

Cyberspace ate my post. So I am starting again.

Church this morning  aw very nice. Pastor Danny is a good preacher and has a heart for God.

Hi Jane isn't it good to hear that Nita's back is doing a little better./ My chiropractor go me all fixed up this past week.

My knee is doing better today still held together with the Krazy glue, the wound not the whole knee I think  need to clarify that for Jane and Janet or I will take another ribbing.

Larry I do have the tool for the screen but like you said it will be hard if the scree was cut to fit and it was, so Bill, across the street is going to take the door off one day this week and we will try to fix  the screen. The landlord's husband is coming tomorrow to try to fix the front door so that it doesn't stick. Sometimes I have to kick it open from the outside and one or twice I have had to use the back door because I couldn't get the front one to open. It is obvious that  one side of the house  has sunk down more than the other. Too much wet weather here the groung gets  so soggy.

Carol I have the pamphlet here on the Clydesdales that tells where all the farms are where they are raised, there are 9.

It's so good to see you, Ruth Ann!

I've been wondering how you've been as it's been so long.  How are you feeling?  How's that foot?

gosh, when you're off this site for 24 hours there is a lot of catching up to do!

today was the party, and i really don't even want to go into how it went, haha. last night was fun with sleeping over my friends house and going to the bazaar and then minature golfing, but we both dreaded today.

Pat, he's going to southeastern university in lakeland, fl.  i know much about pensacola though, but no, he's not going there.

I'm pretty tired, it's not even 10, and as soon as we got home this afternoon i took a shower and slept until we had to leave for church tonight, but i might finish checking somethings and then head to bed. hope everyone had a wonderful sunday! even if mine wasn't so swell, the joy of the Lord is my strength.

with love,
candice

Janet

We are home again, after a very enjoyable weekend.  We traveled to the tiny city of Haviland, to Barclay College (student body 100-120) to help with another Walk to Emmaus.  It was such a blessing.  Sat. night we drove on over to Pratt and spent the night with dear friends who lived here for 50 years, but moved to Pratt about 4 years ago to be near a daughter.  What a time we had catching up!  :)  We attended church with them this morning, then back to Haviland for the closing service of the Walk.

Israel is at war, and we really need to be praying for them.  Those who seek her destruction also seek the destruction of the USA.

Yes, Larry, Abby wants to take piano lessons, and I am so hoping they will get her started SOON!  ;)

It was beastly hot in SW Kansas today----109 degrees, no breeze, and high humidity.  Seems we are all (most, anyway) suffering with summer's heat just now.

I want to watch some of the news, see what happened while I've been away.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

Our services this morning included a recap of the VBS including a PowerPoint presentation of some of the pictures I took of the event.  I got a kick out of the little girl sitting on the pew with my wife and I when she saw herself on the big screen.

I trust everyone had a blessed day today.  Peace and love to each and every one of you.
