Morning Devotional...

My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?
Psalm 22:1

Crucifixion was the terrifying death of the Roman and far worse than the flaming stake, the shining sword, the awful ax, the poisonous hemlock or the swinging rope.

At Calvary our Saviour met the cross and when He did, He took our place. The sharp clear ring of steel to steel was heard and the suffering substitute died, but not before His cry of abandonment rose to the heavens: "My God, My God, why?"

Greater than His physical suffering was that of being forsaken of God.

Today may we adore, praise, and worship by faith at the nail-pierced feet of our beloved Saviour.
--Arnot P. McIntee

But oh, what grief, what agony,
when wrathful judgment's awful spell
Burst over Thee, on Calvary's tree,
God's Lamb for us, Immanuel!

Good Morning everyone.  Yesterday the holiday day all we did is drive.  Good job we enjoy driving.  We were up and out of the house by 5:45am.  We had Melaura to be picked up ar camp.  Then we had to keep moving to get back to N. Bay for 11:30.  We were 10 minutes late.  Our optomitrist (sp?) went into the office just so John could get his glasses.  Interestingly the northerners do things like that.  Melaura wanted a shower, so in to Bonnie's for that.  From there we headed up to Englehart to have a visit with Rick's dad.  It was a short visit, but it was a good opportunity to pray with a brother.  Rick's sister had us for supper, then home stoppong at the book store in Cobalt.  I am glad the girls have my love of books.  Kassie found and Andrew Murray book on prayer, for 25 cents!  We are not long home.  I am off to bed, eyelids are drooping.John figures we ran 500 miles today.  Please continue to pray for Rick's dad.  The prognosis is not good.

Ruth no goats thank you.  Yes they would do the job, but there is too much other work with them.

Carol, Yes I sew, but I have had 2 large computer projects to get done.  One is complete, the other is not quite 1/2 done.  I would love to learn.  I have asked several friends to teach me, but it is made to sound so complicated, streatchers, and tiny stitches, and all.......Maybe next year.  I am a bit of a cluck cluck chicken.  I have been given a knitting machine, when I get the rest of the parts I will have it serviced then everyone will get knitted items for Christmas.

I trust everyone has a good holiday weekend.  We are having a family doo on Monday.  Mother's/Father's/birthday doo.  I may not be on much till Tuesday.

Night/ morning all and God Bless and Keep you all safe.

Hi everyone on a beautiful Sunday morning in Georgia.  It is going to be a hot one again.

I realized after I had retired last evening that I hadn't read CP or the SeniorNet site, which I do almost everyday.  So will be sure that doesn't happen today by making it one of the first things I am doing today.

Yesterday was a busy day.  After coffee my friend, Rod, came over and helped me install a new dual head video card in my computer and get my double monitors set up.  We also did a little rearranging of where I had the computer placed so that I could get the two screens together.  I am enjoying having the second screen available again.  Then I had to pay the bills for this month.  Since my income arrives on the 1st, I usually pay almost all of the bills at once and it takes awhile.  Guess that says I have too many bills.

I don't think there is anything unusual that we will be doing today.  We will go to church and then out-to-lunch somewhere and then have a restful day.

JudyB, that was a lot of driving all in one day and you still ended up at home.  I wish you lived closer to my wife as I am sure she would be happy to help you learn to quilt.  That is her favorite passtime and she has a lot of fabric, which seems to be the case with all quilters.  Her current project is a quilt she is making for a quilt guild project of some kind and it has to be done by next month.  Then she is making three small patterned quilts for our great grandchildren from some fabric she found when we were in Michigan.  I don't think we ever go on a trip that she doesn't manage to locate at least one quilt store.

Pat, thank you for the fine devotional yesterday and today.

A belated Happy Birthday to Canada.  The USA will have its birthday celebration on Tuesday.

Marilyn, what type of storage shed did you get?  Is it a RubberMaid one?  Hope they are simply to put together.  How do you anchor them down so they won't blow away in a big wind?  It sounds like you had a wonderful service at your church.

Ruth, as long as you don't stand at the door in anticipation of the arrival of the ice cream truck on a daily basis you should be fine.  Occasionally we get an ice cream truck up and down our street.  Not sure how they can afford to operate anymore with this high price of gas.

Mary Frances, glad to read you are feeling better.

Janet, I think as we get older we don't anticipate Christmas, birthdays, etc as we did when we were children and time in general just seems to go by more quickly as a result.  Glad to read that Beth is making some friends and has found someone to talk with.  Hope she will like the other lady you mentioned as well.  Glad to read that she isn't confined to her room but gets around on her electric scotter or wheelchair.

Etta Sue, sure hope today finds you feeling better.  Get some extra rest and hopefully you will feel better soon.

Jane, I am sure you are counting the hours now until your daughter can visit.  Don't overdo that housecleaning and then not be able to enjoy her visit.

Hi Ritz, it is good to see you posting.

Carol, take it easy in the gym.  Do you have a pool there as water exercise is easy on the body and would keep the weight off that foot.

Al, I feel as you do in terms of never having owned a boat or RV and also about never having had to deal with a swimming pool.

See you all tomorrow.

Good Morning

Larry: yes it is a Rubbermaid shed. it has a floor that  will be snapped as well as screwed together, then the sides and doors are snapped together first then  the  upright  rods go in to hold them It won't blow aways as there will be those tubs and my lawn mower sitting on the floor to hold it down.  I have been reading the instructions online. Hopefully I can get it together on Monday afternoon if they deliver it that day. I don't want the box to sit on the grass very long and kill the grass under it.

I am looking forward to seeing just how many of those  who said they would be at our church today will actually be there. We have so many out on vacation right now and most of the people at the service Friday night we not ours. Some of ours really needed to hear that message. However it must not have been Gods timing for them to hear it.

I will be back later.

PS please pray for my friend Ray from the church down south. In his email today he tells me that they have found some kind of a nodule in one of his lungs.

Good morning.  I didn't get in here yesterday.  We did have a good day.  It was our 57th anniversary but we didn't do anything special except I did get Cornelia a big bunch of beautiful flowers.  <3

Tonight at church we will have devotional out on the lawn and afterwards a big fireworks display.   Many people from the neighborhood come for this each year.  One of our members who is in the wholesale fireworks business contributes the fireworks and his expertise for putting on a great show.

Thanks to Pat for the devotional.  It is good to see all of you today.  I hope you have a good day of worship.

Janet

Good Sunday morning to you!  :)  It is so nice out right now, but headed to being another hot day.

I attended our local dinner theater production of "Steel Magnolias" last night.  The cast of six women did a great job, but the place was SO hot!  And they didn't have a stage, so it was difficult for those at the back tables to see.  Actually, I had the very furthest back seat; but I moved to the front table and some friends made room for me there.  (Of course, I went over and asked them first.)  It was more fun that way, as I knew not one person at the table where I was first seated.

Marilyn, if you put up a shed like that here, you may wake up to wonder whether it was in some town 40 or 60 miles away!  The floor might stay, but I guarantee the walls and roof would leave!  But, thankfully, not too many places have as bad winds as we have here on the high plains.

It is time to get ready for Sunday School.

Larry, good to see you, as usual.  I only wish I were as computer literate as you are!

I got prints of all the family reunion and wedding photos.  Now I have a lot of scrapbooking to do!

Our honeymoon couple are due back home today.  We will probably go down on Tuesday to spend the holiday with them.  Hugoton has a lot of fun activities in their park that day.

See y'all after church!

Attendance was down at church as it usually is near the 4th of July.  About 40 teenagers and 10 adults were leaving after church to go to east Tennessee to work at an adult mental institution.  Our teens have done that for years and the attendance going there is awesome.  They call it Holy Sweat.

Janet, our next Dinner/Theater production will be Steel Magnoliaz but we are stadium seating and they are on a stage.  Not a bad seat in the theater.

Still not feeling fantastic.  Going to get my book, read and perhaps ZZZZzzzzzz!

Hey there all y'all :D

My daughter just called as she's on the road heading this way.  She should be here in less than 2 hours. And you are so right, Larry, I am looking forward to seeing her again. (My house is all clean and the yard looks nice too. )

I have no clue how long Dot will want to hang around here, but at least a couple days anyway, I'm sure.

Pat, I don't have a camera so there will most likely be any photos.  In fact, I am hoping to unload some of the hundreds of photos I have here so Dot can figure out what to do with them.   :-\  Hopefully she will feel like helping me sort through them.  I have other stuff I hope to sneak aboard her car while she's not looking, too   :)

A phone call last night let me know I may not have to worry about getting the place in Sacramento cleared out and sold for a while anyway.  That is a relief as I certainly wasn't looking forward to that job!

Gotta go ... I just want to let all y'all know how great it is to see all your smiling faces  posts.  I look forward to seeing you each day and often wonder about those of you who stay away for prolonged periods.  I'm glad to see you pop in from time to time.

BTW:  Happy Birthday, ALMA!

Janet

Yes!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALMA!!   <3

I had a little burst of energy this afternoon, do I did a lot of de-cluttering.  Our junk and other mail is one of my biggest housekeeping problems.  >:(  I got several of the hot spots cleaned off, then went to the care home to attend church with Beth (they have their service at 4 PM) and did more after I got home.  We aren't having services tonight at my church.

When I got home from the care home, Darrel was watching a program on Discovery about the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtzee River in China, and since we will be there in less than a month, of course I watched the rest with him.  The river has already risen over 300 feet since 2004, and many, many national treasures (antiquities) of China are being lost forever.  They have found and moved so many, and now they are being stolen and sold on the black market.  Sad.  Darrel says we should have gone there in the late 90's....but what we will see will all be gone in a couple more years, as they say the river will rise another 500 feet!  :o

Jane, so happy you are having Dot for a visit.  Have a great time!

I'm off to try to finish my book!

Missed being here yesterday to celebrate Canada's BD.  How old is she anyway?

Reason I was so busy yesterday, my BW and I were celebrating 46 yrs of marriage.

It is at this point in our lives we realize just how blessed we are of God.  We enjoy every day together and thank God for each day.
