Morning Devotional...

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6

Faith is invisible but it is seen in the lives of those who live by it.

Moses' character was built on the decisions he made. He chose to suffer affliction with the people of God rather than have the treasures of Egypt.  His values were on the eternal and not temporal things.

God honours faith and faith honours God.

Let us strive daily to please Him by our faith in Him.

My Faith Looks Up To Thee  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/my-faith-looks-up-to-thee.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"We live by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

Words: Ray Palmer, 1830.
Music: "Olivet (Mason)," Lowell Mason, 1830

Ray Palmer wrote these lyrics upon receiving a vision of Christ shortly after his graduation from Yale University, while working as a tutor at a New York school. However, he kept them to himself until meeting Lowell Mason on a street in Boston, Massachusetts. When Mason asked him to write something for a new hymnal, Palmer dug out his old notes and produced these lyrics, written two years earlier. After taking the lyrics home and reading them, Mason composed this tune. Several days later he saw Palmer again and said:

You may live many years and do many good things, but I think you will be best known to posterity as the author of My Faith Looks Up to Thee.

My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away,
O let me from this day be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee,
Pure warm, and changeless be, a living fire!

While life's dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread, be Thou my Guide;
Bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow's tears away,
Nor let me ever stray from Thee aside.

When ends life's transient dream,
When death's cold sullen stream over me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love, fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above, a ransomed soul!

Good morning on this Lord's Day.  I am still among the living even though I haven't been in here for awhile.

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  I hope you are doing better.  Seems like I have slowed down and haven't been able to keep up with everything.

In our prayers we should pray for peace in this troubled world.

1 Tim 2:1-8
1   I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2   For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3   For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4   Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5   For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6   Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
7   Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
8   I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
(KJV)

Papa John

Papa John, it's so nice to see your post.  Even though you haven't been posting much lately, you have still been in my prayers and Cornelia as well.

Yes, we must pray for this troubled world.  Please take care.

Everyone must still be at church.  I went to church today.  Got there early and even before the service started my back started aching.  Then between services I was duplicating tapes and CD's and by back was throbbing.  Then after the last service and duping tapes and CD's, I couldn't wait to get in my car and sit down.  I have a stool but you can 'work' sitting on the stool.  So it is stand, sit, stoop, bend etc and my back just doesn't like it.

So I have sent an email to the Media Minister telling him I must quit doing the duping of Tapes and CD's.  I will train them but no more standing, stooping, sitting, bending etc.

Marilyn ~ Those nylon srubbies are great for cars, too.  For getting off bugs and tar!

Isn't it great to see Papa John post?  That means him and Cornelia are fine!

I am ready to go see Erik pitch!  Be back later!!

Horrible about your back, Etta Sue.  Nothing worse.  It will be good to maybe have some young person doing this.

Talk to you later!

Hi everyone.  W are enjoying a lovely rain at the moment and it sounds so good.  Just got up from a nice nap.  We had an extended service this morning because we had a Redidication of our Narthax (church lobby) and the outdoor courtyard that is in the middle of our building.  Over the years memorial gifts have been given to the church in memory of loved one, or in my case, on behalf of my parents at the time of their passing.  This was done following the sermon and then after the Benediction we had a time of fellowship in the courtyard.  Then we went out to eat with 10 other folks.  It was late today and therefore the crowds had lessened.

Etta Sue, sorry to read about your backache and know you didn't want to have to give up your duties with the tapes.  However, you probably did the very best thing for your own health and comfort.

Papa John, glad to see you posting.

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.

Candice, I agree with Pat on enjoying your postings.  Your enthusiusm shines right through your words.

Al, I am sure Marbeth rested better at home than in the hospital, which is a very difficult place to rest due to the noise and the almost constant appearance of a nurse or aid.

Janet, you are not alone in disputing a charge and later finding out it was a good charge.  I expect that happens fairly often since often the identifying information on a credit card billing isn't very descriptive.  Sure you were glad to get it resolved.

Ohenry, I hope you get some good shots and enjoy your camping.

Hi Nita, glad you got your yard all shaped up.

Marilyn, I remember when you used to live in the desert.  I am sure you  are glad to live where it is cooler.

Ruth, enjoy your vacation.  Are you going to some exciting place?

Good morning...errr...make that good afternoon.  Lovely services this morning followed by brunch with friends and just got back from the heat of the day.  A mild 104, but tonight will be in the mid 60's.  Larry, I could use a little of that rain.  Etta Sue...you take care of that back!

I have been continuing to cook since I came home from church, I am waiting for Gilbert and family to arrive to have dinner at 3PM All I have left to do is make the gravy. I left the Turkey cooking while I went to church.

Good service this morning although I wasn't really paying attention very closely, Bad Me!It as on the attacks of Satan.

My new client Ruth called me this morning  and  will be going to work over there tomorrow too. She fell Saturday and hit her head and well as bruised her tail bone, I have to take her to the doctor at 10:30.

Laters.

Hi Everyone,   I've been very busy.   Sorry for not posting more.  My blood pressure has been up, so I'm going to  another cardiologist next week.   Hope to straighten this out.

God bless

Love Ruthie

I had a good visit with the family, Dinner was wonderful with all of us around the table  eating and talking. Sarah did the dishes while Gilbert and I put things away and the  little ones went outside to play.

After prayer meeting this evening I  watered the front and back lawns, they really needed it too. The grass is all brown from me being so lazy and not watering.

Tomorrow I go to work right after Tai Chi to take Ruth to her Doctor appointment, after that I will go to Wm's.

That's all for tonight.
