JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of My hands. Behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
Isaiah 49:16; Zechariah 3:9

This prophetic mention of the cleansing of the land was wrought by the shedding of Christ's innocent blood.

His hands held no pardon written on mere paper or parchment, no engraved tables of stone or wood. His very hands were themselves engraved with wounds of love by the nails that pierced them.

In those wounds we find our security, for at Calvary His hands were imprinted for our eternal salvation.

He will always remember us for He bears the marks forever. May we remember Him and all He has done today.
—Tom Steere

A DEBTOR TO MERCY ALONE

"He which hath begun a good work in you
will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6

Augustus M. Toplady (1740-1778) Words: Augustus M. Toplady

A debtor to mercy alone, of covenant mercy I sing;
Nor fear, with Thy righteousness on, my person and off'ring to bring.
The terrors of law and of God with me can have nothing to do;
My Savior's obedience and blood hide all my transgressions from view.

The work which His goodness began, the arm of His strength will complete;
His promise is Yea and Amen, and never was forfeited yet.
Things future, nor things that are now, nor all things below or above,
Can make Him His purpose forgo, or sever my soul from His love.

My name from the palms of His hands eternity will not erase;
Impressed on His heart it remains, in marks of indelible grace.
Yes, I to the end shall endure, as sure as the earnest is giv'n;
More happy, but not more secure, the glorified spirits in Heav'n.

Pat, speaking of those who used to come here........how is Jeanne Lee?  I've been thinking of her a lot.

Pat

I think she's ok.

I don't hear from her very often, Nita.   She's keeping busy since her husband passed away.

Good Morning: Thank you Pat for the devotional.

I am missing my friend Linda today. I always picked her up for early  Sunday morning prayer before church. We would go pray for an hour before Sunday school started. It isn't going to be the same, there were many Sunday mornings when we were the only prayer warriors there while the worship team went through the finally practice in the sancturary. Linda would be on the front row worshiping God as she raised her hands in prayer. As for me I would be walking around  laying hands on the chairs, kneeling or sitting in the back praying. Sometimes we would go into the nursery to pray if the band was too loud.

For those who did not see my post yesterday Linda went to be  with her Lord Friday morning about 3 am. She was a member of the biggest extended family in our church. Please remember her family in your prayers.

Yes, Janet, I DO have an imagination, and my imagination could see you diving into that aquarium!

Hi everyone on this Sunday morning.  I slept in until about 9 am and am not at all peppy today.  However, we are going to go to church and this evening we are going to our daughter-in-laws first birthday of sobriety at AA.  This is a really big accomplishment for her and we are happy to be able to attend this event.  It is very hot here today as it is over most of the United States and I expect a large part of Canada.  I heard on the TV a little bit ago that we could have some really beautiful sunsets during the next few days.  It has something to so with sand in the supper atmosphere pulled up from Africa and the impact of the tropical storm Franklin off the east coast of the United States.

Marilyn, sorry to here of the loss of your prayer partner.

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.

Good morning, I worshipped with TV today. Leslie did not awaken to put the wheelchair in the back of the truck, but the sermon was wonderful and I enjoyed the music.

Larry, what a great reason to celebrate.

Marilyn, I'm so sorry about your friend. It really hurts to lose someone with whom we feel so close.

Janet, I'm so hopeful that Beth will see improvement and that your problems and emotional and physical pain will be lifted today.

Jim, I'm thinking of you and praying that if the marriage can be healed, it will be. If not, I'm praying for peace for you as you struggle to regain your equilibrium.

So many others I cannot comment on, but I read all posts, even though I don't always reply.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

I agree, Jim---even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Ha ha ha, Al---and do you imagine me in miniature in that acquarium?  ;)

Larry, that is interesting how different weather phenomena affect the colors in our sunsets, isn't it?  I remember when the fires were raging in Yellowstone National Park a few years ago, we had very purple sunsets because of all the smoke in the atmosphere.  I will be sure to look at the sunsets for the next few weeks.  Wonderful news of your daughter-in-law's sobriety.  Are your son and his wife Christians?  I know it must be much harder for a non-christian to attain a goal like that, because they don't have the Lord to help them.  Don't stay out in the heat any longer than you must!

Marilyn, are you sure the kids understood what you were teaching them, and were convicted of their sins?  I am asking this because when I was six years old, I went forward in church with a whole group of kids and repeated the sinner's prayer; but I didn't really understand much about it.  We hadn't been going to thurch very long.  Then I was confused and doubtful for years, until I really accepted the Lord at the age of 17.  God bless you for wanting to witness to them and be assured of their eternal destiny.  I'm so sorry about your loss of your prayer partner; it is so good to have someone to pray with, isn't it?  Nothing like it.

Hi, Suzanne!  Lovely graphic!

We had a great service, and were all so happy to have our pastors back.  And they are happy to be back, too.

Ruth Ann, I came back to say thank you.  I am feeling stronger and more optimistic today, and can feel the effects of the prayers being offereed in my behalf.  I get up early on Sundays and listen to Joel Osteen, then James Merritt, then Jentezen Franklin, and finally ---- well, phooey, I can't think of his name right now.  Anyway, I should be well churched, after four sermons and then unday School and church.  ;)  I hope you are doing better, you have certainly been through a lot.  God bless.

It is sooooo hot!  Even this hound dog doesn't want to move.

I didn't keep notes and I am sorry that my memory fails me.  I think, I will say so and so to this person, then when I read another person's post, I forget what I wanted to say to the first person.  So please forgive me for not commenting to each of you.  Just remember you are in my heart and in my prayers.  God bless all of you.

Church was awesome.  The CD's are really going good now.  Of course, the sermons are awesome and that sure helps in people wanting to share tapes and CD's with their friends and family who are unable to attend church.  I didn't leave church today until 12:45 p.m.  I was really busy duping today!!  Then I ate at Taco Bell and come home.  When I drove in the drive, I thought...my swing sure looks inviting...maybe I will get a book and swing.  Then as I was walking from the garage to the house, I thought...too hot to sit outside today!!!  No way!!!  Thank God for air-conditioning!!!

Let's all sing together...

There's Just Something About That Name
(Click to here music)

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name.

Another wonderful  service and sermon this morning, Sermon was on Loyalty.  The worship team was off this morning, we have a new sound system and they are still getting things adjusted.  It makes it hard when the worship leader is hard of hearing and things get way to loud for some of the people. He has also changed some of the songs to his own renditions and we can't seem to follow along. Not complaining tho' we all need to accept change in our lives.

We had a time of remembering Linda. That was real nice too, lots of tears though. She was loved by so many and recognized as a prayer warrior.

I have already lost my post 3 times so this isn't as much as I said before and I will hope this one posts, if it doesn't, oh well c u all later.

Good Sunday afternoon to all y'all!

I attended church with Joy and Bryan today and then we shopping while we waited for Bryan's friend to finish her "job" in the church bookstore and join us for lunch at Applebee's.

Then ... we took Bryan home to change and get ready for work and we will be picking him up at 5 p.m. (10 min) and take him to work.  If not for the ride, he would have to walk about 20 minutes in 105 degree heat.  Not so fun!

I was able to get hold of my granddaughter Laura this afternoon and we will meet with her for lunch at 1p.m.  I don't know if she will be able to round up any of her family but whoever gets there will be okay.

I gotta go now, so I'll see y'all later..
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat

Jane, it's great to see you checking in.  I'm beginning now to look for your posts so hopefully you'll continue to be able to on this nice trip!

Enjoy!

We are home late tonight.  I was at church long enough to enjoy our time of praise.  One of my favourites was sung, "These are the Days of Elijah"  I had to leave as the sermon began as i had to work.  After work we took Mom out for supper.  She enjoyed the time out too.

The weather has turned cool and overcast.  Looks like we will have rain.  That is well needed.  Pat perhaps you will get what we have in a day or two.  It is a nice break from the heat.

Well I am off for now, but I will be back.

Pat

We had lots of rain last night, Judy and today off and on but the temperature right now is 30C (I just went out to look).

Glad that you had a good time with John's Mum.
