Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Morning Devotional...

On His head were many crowns.
Revelation 19:12

The Jews cried out at His crucifixion that if He was a king then He should have a crown.

The crown that He wore on that day was made from cruel thorns, a product of the cursed earth. These were pressed down on that holy brow into which never an evil thought passed.

Praise and thank God that today He is the Victor and not the Victim. He is today crowned with glory and honor and He is worthy of it all.

May our hearts be full to overflowing as we come to worship Him today.
--John M. Clegg

Is crowned with glory now!
A royal diadem adorns
the mighty Victor's brow.

Hi everyone. It looks like I will be first to post here today.  Pat, thanks for the devotional that reminds of the the total goodness of our Savior Jesus Christ.

We had a lovely rain yesterday afternoon and early evening.  Everything is looking nice and green again and I see the grass has grown a bit overnight.  It will be another week before the lawn people are here again.

We have just gone through a very unpleasant couple of weeks and I hope things settle down this week.  Pat said this morning she felt like a Mack truck had run over her as stress brings on her pain from fibromyalgia and I started experiencing some mild chest pain last evening and although I slept good am feeling it again this morning.  Guess we are just getting fragile.

Etta Sue, it sounds like Kitty got quite a bargain.  I think she would have to have s separate internet account for the handheld device as hear of subscriptions for them.  It is always nice to spend a fun day with someone you enjoy spending time with.

Marilyn, I was happy to read that you had a pain free day yesterday.

Welcome back Ohenry.  Nice to read that you had such a pleasant time.  I am sure your wife cherishes precious time at home since she is away a lot.

Carol, our church youth just returned from a missionary trip in Mississippi a couple of weeks ago.  They conducted Bible Schools and helped restore homes from the hurricane.

Liz, glad to read you are having cooler weather.

Pat, nice you were able to take Geordie with you when you visited friends.  I am sure they enjoyed his company as well as yours.

Nita, I find having nothing to say never stops me.  Your messages are always interesting, whether you see them that way or not.  Just say hi if nothing else as know that encourages Pat to see a few more posting here.

Ruth, glad to see you back posting.  Hopefully you will get a break in the heat soon.

Hi Jane.

Al, if you read this before you go to church today just know we all are praying for you that your message will stir hearts as you share the message.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Al Moak

Thanks Larry.  I do pray God's Word will stir hearts - including mine.  Think I'll take a cup of  :coffee: with me when I go up front.  I can drink it if I'm sleepy, or I can use it to put out the fire, if that happens, or I can have somebody sprinkle it on me if I faint!  What a useful thing a  :coffee: is!

Good morning everyone.  God is great!

Pat:  No, I don't work full time as a photographer.  I am retired and now mainly a house husband of sorts who occassionally does earn a few dollars doing photo work or doing photoshop work for others.

Larry:  Yes, she has been gone a lot lately.  This is not the norm for her and hopefully will be much more infrrequent from this point forward.
Walking by faith means you see God's hand even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Marilyn

Good Morning everyone.  Not a lot of time here before I leave for church. So I will just say good devotional Pat and be on my way and Hello to everyone else too.

Have a Blessed Day

We need to make that everyday instead of just today.
Pat:  Thank you for devotions.  I hope that you are doing well.

Larry:  Sorry that your Pat feels so rough right now.  I hope this passes soon.

Al:  My best to Marbeth too.

Sue

Just popped in to say hello.

Marilyn, your photos of the Clysedales brought back many memories.  I always enjoyed them and would pick up the photo cards.

Now must get a few more things done.

Well, preaching this morning seemed to go well.  But surprise upon surprise - our pastor showed up.  His obligations elsewhere were at least partly fulfilled, so it was possible for him to attend the service.  So he listened to me.  He also made some good and helpful comments afterwards.  So it was a good time.

Etta Sue

Well, I went to church but didn't go to the Duplicating Kiosk.  I went to the first service and then notice the elder that had been helping me with the duping was at the kiosk.  I wanted a tape of the Senior service but there was a paper on the kiosk saying that the printer was down and there would be no tapes for today's services.  So I talked Mike to do the CD's.  Second service was the minister that is leaving for Florida tomorrow preaching.  His wife lead the Worship Team and his daughter sang a solo.  I left right after second service.

I ate at a restaurant.  Went to WalMart.  Got a coke at McD's and then drove to the park.  I sat in the shade with the windows all down playing with my new GPS.  Then at 3 I went back to church.  They had a Farewell Celebration for Mark and Deborah.  Sad and funny.  I laughed and I cried.  They had a video that was hilarious.  I sure will miss them.  But they said to come on down to Lake Aurora Resort and Campground...they have 308 bedrooms!!  I might just take them up on that!

I got home at 6 p.m. and had a message from Ivalou.  She is in Ohio.  Her daughter's father-in-law passed away so Ivalou went to help out with the kids.

I go in the morning for a glucose blood test so I am fasting tonight.  I am thinking of dozens of things that I would like to eat but can't.   :idiot:  :uglystupid:

Good evening

Etta: Fasting always gives me the desire to eat, must be a mental thing.

Not really to much around here but took a few minutes to check in.  Word arrived last evening telling us that a very dear pastor of many years ago has gone on to be with the Lord. He was approx 90 yrs of age. I would like to attend the funeral but it is a 2 hrs drive so I think it is best I stay home as I am still recovering from surgery and I think I did just a little too much yesterday so now rest I must do.yesterday I did laundry, went out for dinner then met Sue for a coffee I really think it was the laundry that was too much.  Tomorrow is another day.

Thanks for the devotional, Pat.

Quiet in here today.  We are still enjoying cooler temps. on the island.  I haven't much to say so here is a little smile (I hope!):

The Church Cake

Alice was to bake a cake for the church ladies' group bake sale, but she forgot to do it until the last minute.  She baked an angel food cake, however, when she took it from the oven she discovered the center had dropped flat.

She said, "Oh dear, there's no time to bake another cake." So, she looked around the house for something to build up the center of the cake.

Alice found it in the bathroom... a roll of toilet paper. She plunked it in the center of the cake and covered it with icing and decorations. The finished product looked beautiful, so she rushed it to the church.

Before she left the house, Alice gave her daughter some money and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the minute it opened, and to buy that cake and bring it home. Unfortunately, when the daughter arrived at the sale, the attractive looking cake had already been sold.

Alice was beside herself.

The next day, Alice was invited to a friend's home where two tables of bridge were to be played that afternoon.

After the game, a fancy lunch was served, and to top it off, the cake in question was presented for dessert.

When Alice saw the cake, she started to get out of her chair to rush and tell the hostess all about it. However, before she could get to her feet, one of the other ladies said, "What a beautiful cake!"

Alice could only sit back in her chair and watch, when she heard the hostess (who was a prominent church member) say:

"Thank you, I baked it myself."

Think there is a lesson in that somewhere?

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz
