Morning Devotional...

Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. John 13:23

In Him is no sin. 1 John 3:5

It is not by accident or chance that the one who leaned on the breast of Christ and could feel the heartbeat of the Saviour would later take up his pen and write of His sinlessness--those tremendous words which have come down through the centuries, "In Him is no sin."

In thought, actions, words, and motives, He is sinless.

When the world would seek to attack the impeccability of our Lord, may we lay hold upon the words of John today, "In Him is no sin."
                                                                         --John M. Clegg

O spotless Lamb of God in Thee
the Father's holiness we see;
And with delight Thy children trace
in Thee His wondrous love and grace.

Yes, Pat: Because of His sinlessness we are saved, healed, and part of the Family of God.  Let us never forget the price He paid for us ... He who knew no sin!

Tomorrow (today?) is our Pastor Ron's birthday, so the usual First- Sunday-of-the-month potluck will include a cake and cards, etc.  He just returned from a two week trip to Michigan (a family reunion and fishing trip into Canada with his brothers) on a motorcycle!  When I asked him how the trip was, he responded "LONG!"   :D

I am looking forward to the service in the morning ... there will be no evening service, since it's potluck Sunday, so I just may get in here later tomorrow as well!  Lucky you!! ;D

Take care and have an awesome Lord's Day!

It is early Sunday morning.  It is early for me, 6:00 a.m.  I had to get up this morning because when I woke up my back was giving me fits which sometimes is the case.

But it is a beautiful morning.  I have just had my coffee and orange juice and as I sit here I think of our wonderful blessings.  Our daughters and grandchildren are still here and after while they will all be up getting ready for morning worship.

Ps 100:1-5
1   Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2   Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
3   Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4   Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
5   For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.  (NIV)

I look forward to being with my brothers and sisters today in the assembly when we praise the Lord with thanksgiving.  I hope you all have a good day.

--- Papa John    ;D

Thank you, Pat, for the devotion today.  Yes, He was sinless and He died for our sins.  He is all-forgiving as he accepts us as His brothers and sisters.  We will all be one big family in heaven because of this sinless man.

Jane, sounds like you are going to have a wonderful day today with your pastor returning from his trip and celebrating his birthday.  Just don't eat too much.  Save room for food when you come to YOUR reunion in Indiana!!

Papa John, I sure pray that your back settles down.  Does it go into spasms?  My husband's back would do that.  Said it felt like 'things' crawling on him.

Jerry and I are going to church a little early today.  Today is his first day to be 'Chief Take Care of Audio Tapes' person.  Hmmmph!  I am going to see if I can teach an old dog new tricks since I know how to do all of it.  Will inform you with a progress report later as to how well he learns... ::) ::)

We had another awesome wind storm last night.  A few little limbs down but nothing major close to here.  Just glad to have these new windows which really muffles the sound.

Hi everyone.  We also had rain last evening and night and probably more to come today.  I was watching the Braves play and they had a rain delay but were able to finish the game and win when with the bases loaded the Montreal pitcher walked in the winning run.  Don't see that happen very often.  The Braves had been behind throughout the game.

Pat, a short but very powerful devotional this morning.  Papa John, those verses from the 100th Psalm are wonderful instructions for praise.

Jane, enjoy the pot luck at your church today.  I think this type of event helps bring folks into closer bonds with each other.  We will probably go out to eat after church with several of our friends as we do most Sundays.  It is always a joyful time of fellowship.

Etta Sue, it is good that you are experienced with your church's tape ministry and will be able to help Jerry "learn the ropes".  That is a wonderful service especially when the tapes are taken to shutins.

We slept in late this morning as didn't get up much before 8 am and Pat got up a little later.  We will be headed for church in an hour or so.  One of the members of our church is attending Columbia Theological Seminary close by in Decatur, GA and is doing a summer internship at our church this year.  He is giving the sermon this morning as our Pastor is in Michigan attending a memorial service for his mother-in-law, who passed away several weeks ago in Arizona but was a native of Michigan.  This will also be our Communion Sunday.

Good Morning. Wonderful devotional Pat. In the Gospel of John, John always writes of himself in the third person, I used to  wonder why he did that.

This is communion Sunday for us too. It is also our annual "Celebrate Jesus day" The 25th anniversary of the dedication of our building. We are having a picnic at the park, there won't be an evening service tonight, but we are going to have a service in the park. We will be having are regular service at church this morning tho'.

Iain I miss your devotional this morning, Am I here too early or what?

Papa John Psalm 100 is one of my Pastor's favorite songs we sing it often. Also "My God can do anything".

The Lord awakened me this morning with a song on my lips and in my heart and I could not go back to sleep (it was 4 am).

"I will celebrate,
Sing unto the Lord,
Sing unto the Lord a new song.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
hallelu, hallelujah

Good morning!  It is bright and sunny here in SW Kansas, and promising to get really HOT later on.  We are getting ready to go to Hugoton to church.  Beth will go to her preferred church here in Ulysses.  It is good for her to have friends and associates other than us, and I am happy this church family treats her so well.  We go sometimes, too, but really want her to get established there as her own person.

Great devotionals, Pat and Papa John.  There are so many riches in the Word, we never seem to even scratch the surface of the wonders held there.

After a bit of a "down" day yesterday, I'm feeling myself again this morning! :) ;D  God is SOOO good, ALLLL the time! :D

I'll likely be back this afternoon and check out what's happening in here!

Hello to Jane, Larry, Pat, Papa John, and Etta Sue!

Jerry and I are back from church.  You can teach an old dog new tricks!!!!  Jerry did well with the tape recording, printing the tape labels and so forth.  I guess there were people waiting for the tapes when he took out the first three.  It fast records three tapes at a time.

We then went out for breakfast and then to WalMart.  It is very hot and humid today with lots of lake front property...due to the heavy rain falls that we have had the last few days.  But so far my basement shows some dry areas.  I wouldn't put anything down there that wouldn't be water proof though.

No races today for Jerry...he is yawning, though.  Probably getting close to nap time.

God bless all of you!!!

Hello everyone.  It's been a nice day here, and we had a great service this morning.  If you think of it, you can pray for my mom this week, she'll be away.  She's going to a conference for teacher training.  I think it's great, she'll be away from here for a while, and learning wonderful things at the same time, and hopefully making new friends as well.  Just a quick pop in before I go help her get things organized.  God be with you all.  JEn.

Jen, it's so nice that you can be happy for your Mom getting some time away to learn things which will help her in that all important job of home schooling your younger siblings.  I hope your knee is getting stronger each day, you take care of it, okay?

I thought there would be many messages here when we got back home, but it's a slow day.  Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, so that's cool.

We went to Pigs R Us and ate dinner.  This is a new restaurant in Hugoton, and only open on Sundays for the noon meal.  It was totally swamped!  We had to wait a bit for tables.  These folks have three little boys, the oldest being around 8 or so, and boy!  Do those little guys work!  They get the drinks for people and clear the tables, and they were really being kept hopping!  Cute little guys!

It's hot here, around 95 right now.  I think I might give in to the temptation to take a little nap! 8)

Hi all! :)

We had a good trip to do all the training John had to do.  The weather was hot, but we did enjoy it more than the cold of winter.

Our Youth Pastor is about 24, and is engaged.  He spoke today.  I cannot get over the wisdom of this young man.  He spoke on what we as Christians should and shouldn't do.  He was finishing up a series on purity.  I will through the coming dayus pass on some of the points he made, but he quoted a verse that was one of my Mum's favourites.
1Th 5:22  Abstain from al APPEARANCE of evil. he said what a person does may not in itself be wrong, but it may have the appearance of evil and as such may cause a brother or sister to stumble.

Melaura is eating healthy again, she has an insatiable appetite.  This is a good thing!

We went and hit some garage sales yesterday and found a rubber blow up dingy for $2 so guess what, we are being nagged at to go "swimming"!  We'll see.

Well got to go, talk later,
Love Judy

Hello again!  I just got in from our church.  Always, the first Sunday of the month is communion and we have potluck after the morning service.  Yesterday our pastor got to go fishing (he'd rather fish than anything else you can name!) so we had a fish fry for dinner ... Pastor also is a GREAT cook when it comes to fish!  Of course, living where we do, fishing (and crabbing and clamming) is the main entertainment.  We enjoy lots of wonderful fish direct from the ocean to our plate.  Passing through a skillet or deep fryer along the way, of course.  ::)

LARRY, this is one thing I have always enjoyed about this church fellowship ... it is so much like the fellowship recorded in the book of Acts.  We are a small group so there is ample opportunity to get to know one another and their needs and joys ... The first Sunday of every month we partake of communion and then adjourn to the kitchen/dining area upstairs for food and fellowship.  In fact, sometimes, Pastor will wait until we are all gathered upstairs before serving communion....  The upper room, y'know? ::)

Today being his birthday, we also enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream!   :P

I'm home for the rest of the day ... hmmmm that could be taken two ways!  Well, maybe I will do just that rest a while.   ;)

Y'all take care and continue to enjoy this Lord's Day with Him.

Well we have been in all afternoon, reading, sleeping, etc. and it is almost time to go for our evening service.

Etta Sue, yes I have those spasms which give really sharp pain.  Fortunately it isn't constant.  If I get in a comfortable position in the chair or on the bed.  However at night it is hard to find and stay in a comfortable position.  But moving around and doing just little simple things seems to irritate it.

We go back to the doctor in about a week.

Good to see each one today.

Hello everybody!!!!!!!

We have had a pretty good day today.  Went to church, then to mom's then went riding around hoping ot take soem pictures, but it was rainy, rainy, rainy.  Oh well.  I did get a shot for DPCs "unanswered questions" challenge this week.   (Think I'll abstain from the other one they are running).

Today TM (the preacher) preached on "overcoming the mountain" and used the text from Joshua where they have arrived at the river a second time and had to rely on God to overcome the "mountain" (actually a river) in front of them.  I loved one statement he made -- "God makes molehills out of mountains!!"

Anyway.  Best to all, and fi I do not get back in here -- have a good night!

(PS Jerry -- yes, I see all my transposed letters, I just don't feel like fixin' 'em! :P)

Hello Everyone...

It's so good to see those of you here who have been able to post messages.  Sundays are a slack day for many as they spend time in their churches.  And that's so good.

I've spent the afternoon lying down with an icepack on my face!  If the swelling is any worse tomorrow, I'll phone the University Dental Clinic as it shouldn't be getting worse--it should be getting better!    I've taken pain meds and slept for awhile.

I think that Geordie was asking me to go outside for awhile and finally he just gave up and jumped on top of me and stared in my eyes!  I got the message!  As soon as I budged on the bed, he jumped down and ran to the back door!  He's so funny.

Hello to everyone, I am just now home from the Church picnic. We had all kinds of good food to eat, cold fried chicken. potatoe, macaroni, green and fruit salads, watermelons, fresh pineapple and melon balls etc, etc.

The kids and the adults had a game of tossing water balloons to each other, those that got wet were out. Some of us played Bocci Ball, Pastor gave a short message, they sang to me and gave me cards and an envelope that I surely with be tithing from. We had a great time.

Pastor admonished me to find a church right away and said he would give me an outstanding recommendation, when It comes time to transfer my membership. I will be going to church one more time here to Wed. night bible Study.

Now I am at home trying to cool off the temp is down today to 100 F.

Marilyn, I know how you must feel leaving these people you love and who love you.  But you will make new friends soon in your new location.

We had a very good service this evening.  Now the 4th of July weekend is over and I am hoping that this new week will be a little more calm than these last two weeks.  I think Cornelia is now back to her normal self.

I hope you all have a good night's rest.

Papa John, I'm glad Cornelia is doing so good - say "HI" to her please!

OK, my kids want to play pinochle, so I better go do that.

I've still been feeling pretty yukky. I ate something at a potluck this past week that got my pancreas all upset. When that happens there's no energy and food doesn't digest well. Seems the best is nearly no protein or fat and all sorts of sleep and rest. Of the 3 days I worked last week, only 1 day was a full one. I had to leave work early on two successive days.

Oh, well, thank goodness I seem to be getting better. I have two days of classes to attend on Monday and Tuesday, so may not be around much until Wednesday.

So nice to read what you've all been doing today, and reading about your wonderful services.

Marilyn, you are making me hungry with talk and descriptions of your pot-luck supper.  Yum!., now I'm going into the kitchen and raiding the fridge to see what I can "snack on"!  I shouldn't be hungry after my roast beef supper, but I am!

Marilyn - I do hope you find a church that you will love.  I agree with your Pastor....locate one as soon as possible.  Try one out more than once or twice too, as sometimes, its a good idea to attend the mid-week service as well as the Sunday services.  Thats what I did when we moved to this city from our previous location.

I also wanted to see how friendly (or unfriendly) folks were at the mid-week service.  So many of our churches here don't even have an evening set aside for prayer meeting.

Etta Sue:  I see the "old dog" did learn well...LOL., good for you Jerry.  Did you enjoy taping?  I agree with what Larry said.... people who are unable to get to church really appreciate hearing the message on tape.  I know I really looked forward to receiving them when I was in a rehab hospital a few years ago.

Jen - Thank you for reminding (or asking) us to pray for your Mom.  I hope she enjoys her time away, and comes back refreshed.

Iain:  I missed your post today...have you been away?

Janet:  I agree... Beth needs to be independent and get to meet some gals and fellows her age.  Does John attend with her?  I am so pleased for them both that they have this friendship.  Keep us posted.  Wouldn't it be wonderful to hear of a wedding in the near future?  (Oh, I am such a romantic at heart...LOL)

Ursula:  Hi , and hope you pop in again soon!  Ottawa is a beautiful city.  Have you always lived there?

Judy B:  I'm glad your little granddaughter is feeling better.  How old is she now?

Karma:  How is Zach today? :o

Jane:  Sounds like you attend a very nice church as well.  Do you have pot luck luncheons often?  I love pot luck meals.... there is always such a nice variety.

Papa J:  Please give Cornelia a hug for me. and tell her how pleased we all are that she is "back to her old self".

Now, that was YOUR word...OLD...NOT mine...LOL ;D

We are going hwy. 58 out of Barstow to I-5 all the way up to either the 20 going by Clearlake (this is the easiest route) or we could go all the way to Redding and cross over on the 295. I don't think we will take that route in the truck.. It goes through the Trinity mountains and is very winding.

I would much rather cross over  on the 20 to Ukiah and up the 101 through the Redwoods. Barstow is 34 miles north of Lucerne valley on the 247. We will be drive and 14ft Uhaul  with my car on a car dolly, and their car.

Gitsie and Bebe will be in the car with Sarah and Happydog will be in the truck with me and Gilbert. I will be relief driving both the truck and the car from time to time.

Gilbert wants me to drive the truck through San Joaquin county. Years and Years ago he got a DUI there (we lived in Stockton then) and I don't think he finished paying his fine.

Stockton is our home town.

Pat and Ruth Ann... I didn't mean to leave you out.  See, there I go., naming names, and forgetting someone(s).  I really should take notes, but I don't. :-\

Pat - Is the swelling down., do you feel you can "tackle" an apple pie?  I happen to have one here, and would like you to come over sometime this week...PLEASE!.  I'll even warm it up with ice cream...just for YOU! ;)

Ruth Ann:  I hope you are feeling better tomorrow, after getting a good night's sleep.

Thats where I'm heading now....after I make something to eat!...LOL :D

Marilyn - I wanted to assure you that I will be praying for your safety as you drive to your new home.  I will pray that you will be able to speak to Gilbert about the Lord too.

It sure sounds like it will be a beautiful drive., and I trust not too busy, that you will be able to enjoy the scenery.

HI!  Actually, Judy, Zach belongs to Sonifo, and Travis belongs to me.   :P

Speaking of Travis (well, ya'll weren't, but I am), tonight Bernard got to see a little glimpse of himself.  If he trips over something, or drops something, sometimes he will just pick it up and throw it.  Nothing major, just a little spurt of anger.  (Its actually quite humorous to watch).  Tonight we sent Travis to the sink to put a cup in.  He tried it once.  Missed and it hit the floor.  He picked it up, missed again, hit the floor.  The third time (completely unaware that we were watching), he picked it up, rared back and threw it as hard as possible.  It hit the sink above the window, then fell into the sink.  (Obviously a plastic cup).  He came back to where we were, pointed, adn said, "uh-oh.  uh-oh.  uh-oh."

Did I tell you we think he had roseola last week?  After that crazy fever left, he got a rash on his stomach and back.  It's the only thing we can figure it was.  Anybody know anything about it?

I am watching the most wonderful gospel concert from the east room at the White House, with the President and his staff. Right now Yolanda Adams is singing.

Hi: to all who are on line now, a whole bunch of us brothers and sisters enjoying the fellowship here. I am so pleased to be counted among you.
You love is overwhelming at times. I am so thankful to be here and part of this family.

Karma, Roseola is really no big thing sort of like the baby measles. Not contagious. Just something that babies get.

LOL - See... there I go again... should have taken notes! :o

Thanks for correcting me Karmat.   Yes, that sure sounds like roseola to me too.  I'm glad it wasn't measles....he could have been quite a bit sicker.
Travis sure sounds like a real boy, with that "pitching the cup"...good thing it didn't break a window!  How old is he now?   They really do such cute things when they think you aren't watching, don't they.

Hi Jud!
Today has been a terrible day for my crazy mouth to tell you the truth.  We're watching it.  The dentist phoned me just a little while ago and if the swelling isn't down tomorrow, he wants to know.  He's concerned about dry sockets!  YUCK!

I have to get up early to drive Larry to Hamilton.  I'm so glad that Dianne telephones me to wake me up!  LOL

Ruth Ann, I'll be thinking of you and remembering you as you are in classes for two days.  Is this for your job?  Sorry you weren't feeling well.

Travis will be eighteen months old on Friday (the 11th).  We think he may already be in the "terrible twos."  ;)

Pat, I hope you don't have dry sockets.  I will say a special prayer for you.

Yes, Karma, could be that Travis has entered that stage of his life!  But maybe you'll have the "Tremendous Two's"!

Oh Pat... I've had dry sockets.... sure hope you don't...they are terrible., SO PAINFUL! :'( :'(

This was years ago that I had them.... all I knew to do then was put ice on my face.  Do you do anything for your facial  pain? ???

It must be VERY DIFFICULT driving Larry to Hamilton when you are in pain. :'(

I go to Hamilton tomorrow too to see my surgeon who did my hip replacements.  I'm hoping Norm will drive....well, YES of course he will.

My app't is at 1:pm., there is ALWAYS such a long wait., I dread the wait! :'(

My phone will be ringing at 4 or 4:15 am Judy and we'll leave aroung 5 or 5:15.  We always stop in at Tim Horton's down at York and Victoria and that lasts me till Hamilton.

Oh Pat do I ever remember those dry sockets. I am saying a special prayer for you as I write this. I pray that the Lord will remove your pain and cause the swelling to go down. I pray the dry socket will no longer be dry. That everything will be fine before you lay your head on your pillow tonight.

Hello everyone.  We just saw mom off.  Her and dad are driving down tonight, and then my dad is coming back tomorrow night.  She's nervous, but I'm sure she'll be fine.  Thank you for your prayers on her behalf.  Just in case anyone is wondering, Ethan hasn't posted because he's on a missions trip to Ireland.

Thanks all, for your concern and prayers.  Pat, I'm praying for you too.  Let me know how you're doing.  God be with you all.  Goodnight.  Jen.

Well, I don't know yet if I have dry sockets!  So, I'm not getting concerned yet.

Jen, I wish I had known Ethan was going to Ireland!  Who's he with?

Well, it's time!  I must be up in 5 hours so the door is being locked and a new thread has been opened where you may continue your discussion.

It will be great if you do and then Iain will have lots to read!

(Good Morning, Iain!)
