Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Let us please remember to pray for Christian websites across the internet and at this time, especially let us remember the Administrators and Moderators of the Christians Corner which was severely hacked last evening.  I was on the site and saw the devastation and I wept.  I won't forget it and I prayed for the owners and for those in charge.  It seems as if they will get some of it back but lots was lost.

Oh, we have so much to be thankful for here at Christian Photographers.  We've never had this happen and we pray that we never will.

Morning Devotional...

I love the Lord, because He hath heard my voice and my supplications. We love Him, because He first loved us.
Psalm 116:1; 1 John 4:19

Both writers, though separated by many centuries, had solid reasons for declaring their love for the Lord. (If you are not acquainted with their reasons, why not look them up in your Bible?)

Today, whatever personal reasons we may have for loving Him, we gladly acknowledge that our love for the Lord finds its source in His love for us, so wonderfully shown at Calvary.

May that love have an ever-deepening impact upon us!
—G. Hall

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
(Click to hear music)

May I never boast except
in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 6:14

Words: Isaac Watts, Hymns and Spiritual Songs, 1707. Charles Wesley reportedly said he would give up all his other hymns to have written this one.
Music: "Hamburg," Lowell Mason, 1824; first appeared in The Boston Handel and Haydn Society Collection of Church Music, third edition, 1825

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads o'er His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

[Added by the compilers of Hymns Ancient and Modern]

To Christ, Who won for sinners grace
By bitter grief and anguish sore,
Be praise from all the ransomed race
Forever and forevermore.

I like that song.  I think for a lot of songs, we really need to stop and "HEAR" the words, not just sing them.  This one is also nice a cappela.

Well, I've got one more thing to do online, then it is off to bed for me!  Maybe even before midnight!

takec are.

Good Sunday to all,

We went to service last night & right in the middle of the sermon, I had to sneeze, cough & got up and left but was able to come back right after that episode.  So, I missed the last part of pastor's sermon.  He is leaving us in July and everyone is feeling quite down about this as he has not been there long enough but his wife wanted to get away from domineering family here.  At least that is what we heard.  Strange.

Have a good day & I hope that you are never hacked again.

That's one of my top favorite hymns - thank you!  That's one I can sing either tenor or bass parts to.  It's message is that we owe all thanks and all our being to Him.

Hi everyone.  It is a very rainy morning here in Georgia.  Guess we are getting some of the effects of the tropical storm from the last few days.  It looks like we will be having showers for several days.

I went to bed early last night as was tired and then didn't get up for about 11 hours and still feel tired today.  Guess this is one of "those" days.  We are going to church but doubt that we will go out to eat afterwards as Pat is planning on attending the new sewing/quilting machine demostration this afternoon.  Sure I will have an afternoon nap and then maybe will feel more like my old self.

Pat, thanks for the devotional this morning.

Not much new here so will be brief this morning.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Etta Sue

My, no one has posted for almost 12 hours!!!  Hopefully everyone is enjoying the Lord's day and hopefully are quiet for Him.

What a wonderful time we had yesterday hashing over old times and making new friends and memories.  And we are having a girl's luncheon once a month.  Some that I thought would be there, weren't and some that I didn't think would be there, was.  All and all a great day.

Ivalou said that she knew I would have a great time and that I would be so excited about it that I would be re-hashing the day and not be able to sleep.  Naw!  Not me!  Well, it is all my sister's fault for suggesting it.  I saw 3 a.m. something on my clock and got up at 6 a.m.  Needless to say,  I will probably sleep good tonight.

Today was our first day to dupe CD's.  Not too many requests for them but I got one for the Teen Service.  The clarity of the CD is quite tremendous over the audio tapes.  I think I will send an email to the church people and dig up some business....  The CD audio was even.  The tapes were not.  The music would drown you out and then you had to turn it up for the talking parts of the service.  Then the music would bust your eardrums.  The CD was even throughout.  Great!

Early to bed and early to rise tonight.  Ivalou's daughter came to get Lydia and is spending the night.  It has been a few years since she has been roaming around in a car so I am driving and taking her to the high school where she attended.  She won't believe her eyes how it has grown down there with 4-5 lane highways, traffic signals and not counting all the new homes that has been and is being built.

Then we are going for Chinese...HI MIEKA!!!

Janet

Hello, all..........really a slow day here today, but as Etta Sue said, I hope you are all enjoying a quiet day with our loving Lord.  We had a busy but good day.  Immediately after the morning service, we drove to Hugoton for Abby's Great-grandma Wayland's 100th birthday dinner.  She is amazing---doesn't even use a cane to walk, lives in her own home, does all her own work, mind sharp as a tack---if I hang around till I'm a hundred, I want to be just like her!  ;) ;D

We got home just in time to go to the evening service, and now it's really storming.  They had baseball size hail in town, but so far no hail at all here where we live a couple miles south of town.  My friend Pat and I went to the Pizza hut after church, but when it began to hail, we got a couple of "go boxes" and headed for home!  I didn't want to get the poor car beat up, especially after the near miss on Friday!

I had a good talk with Curtis today.  Love that boy!  ;D  And Mark, too.  Mark is excited about starting college soon, and he ordered his headset today which he needs for his pilot training.

Pat, where are you going?  Wherever it is, I hope you have such a lovely time, a good vacation and great visits with whomever you will be seeing.  (((hugs)))

Larry, sure hope you feel stronger tomorrow.  Please continue to pace yourself and take good care of Larry for us.  I hope Pat is feeling better, too.  You two have had more than your share of problems lately.

Hi, Marilyn!  You would have loved our service tonight!  ;)

I want to go work on my family reunion album a bit before I go to bed.  See you all tomorrow!

Hi Everyone...

I went to church this morning and their A/C wasn't working and we all were perspiring and i made it home and went to lie down and slept most of the afternoon.

Then it was time to close the competition on Photography Cafe for the Macro shots and announce the winners and then I went to lie down again.   :-[ :-[ :-[

Janet, where am I going?  I'm not entirely sure but down east to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and maybe across the bridge to Prince Edward Island.  Just not sure yet.  Probably leaving on Wed. or Thurs. depending on whether Marie gets clearance from the doctor.

It was sad this morning in church as Pastor Boadway gave us a little briefing on Monika and her cancer.  It's now in her brain and it's affecting the part of her brain for swallowing and she might only live between 48 hours and the most about 12 days so pray for that dear family.  She's 45 years old.

Hi all!  For Sunday to be a day of rest, I sure am tired. :)

This is brief tonight as I want to get to bed at a decent time.  Travis and I are going to the lake for the day tomorrow (though it will probably rain all day :( -- see Larry's post), but it will be a good chance to spend soem time wiht Travis and let him play with his cousins.

Karma, I think this every time I see your photo or read a post from you, so I think it is time I say it to you---I think you are just tops!  I love your sense of humor, and your depth as a Christian.  Well, shucks.  I guess I'm trying to say I love you, girl!  God bless, and have a super day with Trav tomorrow, and hope you get lots of pictures.

Janet - You always remember to say the nicest things, and remember to comment on everyone's posts.

I love you for that, Janet.

I am just amazed at Abby's great grandma, and the wonder of her, living on her own, doing all her own housekeeping etc.  My - I'd LOVE to be just like her, too!

I went to two different churches today.  My own in the morning....then the usual 18 of us went out for brunch, then at night, to the church Pat is speaking of....the one without a/c.  The speaker was so good...I didn't mind the heat at all.

Friends, just another reminder....please pray for Monika, the Pastor's wife, that Pat is speaking of...this precious family really needs our prayers.  She has three children, all teenagers.

I couldn't get on the net this morning. Have just arrived tonight. Today would have been my 46th wedding anniversary, so two friends spent the evening with me - that was so thoughtful of them.

I'm having general anesthesia for dental surgery on Tuesday at 12:30 pm. Would appreciate prayers - it's some sort of "ectomy" that should heal this long-term abcess that simply will not go away. As I understand it, they will literally remove the abcess, leaving me with stitches.

It's marvelous what the medical community can do, these days, isn't it.

Love to all.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Janet

Thank you kindly, Judy.  Hope you are doing well these days.

Ruth Ann, I will be praying for you, dear.  I'm thinking when you get rid of that infection, you will begin to feel a whole lot better.  And congratulations on your 30 pound weight loss!  You go, girl!  That's really great!  I keep losing and regaining the same three pounds.  :-[ :-\ wahh!  :'(  I'm so proud of you!
