Morning Devotional...And the chief priests accused Him of many things: but He answered nothing. Mark 15:3
He spoke to the sea and it obeyed Him (Mk. 4:39).
He could speak to an unclean spirit and it too would have to obey (Mk. 5:8).
He spoke to the dead and they would come back to life again (Jn. 11:43).
Indeed it could be said of Him, "never man spake like this man" (Jn. 7:46). Yet we are reminded that there was an occasion when He could have spoken but chose to remain silent.
He could have called for more than 12 legions of angels, but His voice was not heard.
Such was His love for you and me.
--John M. CleggHe could have called
ten thousand angels
To destroy the world
and set Him free;
He could have called
ten thousand angels,
but He died alone
for you and for me.
Since you opened the door, I will stop in and say "howdy!" First! ;D

Hi everyone. Have a few minutes before needing to leave for church.
We had a very strange evening last evening. Around 4 pm the power went out. We were not having a storm or rain but it was in the low 90's yesterday. It was out for about 50 minutes and then came back on. Then about 6:45 pm it goes out again. I called the power company and got the recording that there was widespread outages in our area. It didn't come on again until around 9 pm and then stayed on all night.
Karma and Nards, congratulations on your great news. How old will Travis be when the baby is born?
Heart, welcome to CP. We are happy to see you register and join in the discussions as we share with each other.
Rachelle, that shopping can really be hard on a person. We have a huge mall not too far from us and it is so big that I have never been to it as just don't have the energy. It wears me out just going to Wal-Mart to shop. Hope you are rested up today.
Janet, I met to ask you yesterday about how a wedding can be secret? Glad to read that John arrived safely and that you all had a good time. Hope you are able to get rested up today.
Pat, wonderful devotional thought this morning. I was just reading in a new book I got from the Billy Graham Assocation called "Breakfast with Jesus" by Greg Laurie. These are relatively short readings for daily use and the one today talked about Jesus appearing before Pilate. Pilate hung himself about seven years after washing his hands of Jesus when he was removed from high office by his superior. He was a broken, destitute man all alone.
Sonja, in your posting yesterday you said the following:
QuoteLarry~Sorry about the post. I know that can sink your ship.
I haven't a clue about what I was talking about that you were responding to but it has my curoisty.
Judy, hope your new garden does very well. My coffee drinking buddy is now starting to sell the produce from his huge garden (actually two different gardens) and has cucumbers, squash and green beans for sale. My wife told me I needed to be buying some it as it is always very good and freshly picked.
Jeanne, it sounds like it will be a bit noisy up your way with all the motorcycles in your area. Maybe you are out far enough that it won't bother you.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday and are able to attend church services as it is important that we commune as saints by meeting together to worship.
Good Morning all! Great News Karma! Congratulations!
May God bless everyone with a happy day!

Ephesians 5:18
Words: Elwood H. Stokes, 1879.
Music: John R. Sweney, 1879
Hover o'er me, Holy Spirit,
Bathe my trembling heart and brow;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come and fill me now.
Refrain
Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come, and fill me now.
Thou canst fill me, gracious Spirit,
Though I cannot tell Thee how;
But I need Thee, greatly need Thee,
Come, O come and fill me now.
Refrain
I am weakness, full of weakness,
At Thy sacred feet I bow;
Blest, divine, eternal Spirit,
Fill with power and fill me now.

Cleanse and comfort, bless and save me,
Bathe, O bathe my heart and brow;
Thou art comforting and saving,
Thou at sweetly filling now.

Thank ya'll. Welcome Heart!!
Details. Not a lot at this point. The estimated due date is around Feb. 10. I guess when I can get to the doctor for the first ultrasound and they can do those measurement thingys we'll know more. Aside from some typical "symptoms," I am feeling pretty good, most of the time. :P Thanks again for the congrats. We do feel blessed,
I read everyone's postings, but we've got to scoot out the door to choir practice, so I'd better be scooting. Laters!!!!
karmat
I want to add my congratulations to the Shufords, too. What happy news! I got to see a brand new baby today, and they are just so wonderful. Are you waiting a while to tell Big Brother Travis? Around eight months might seem like an eternity to one of his age.
We attended my son-in-law's grandmother's 99th birthday party after lunch. I took a couple of pictures with the new camera, so if I can figure out all the steps, I may post them later.
Larry, Sonja was referring to your losing your post yesterday. It is aggravating when that happens.
WELCOME to Heart for Jesus!! Do come and visit with us and tell us a bit about YOU. We are so glad to have you with us here.
The party we attended last night was my dear friend's 60th birthday. She is the one who intervened and got the SS lady to help get Beth's disability. She and her friend Maurice had been seeing each other for about a year, and decided to get married at the party as a surprise for the guests. About half of them knew about it in advance, as I did. It was a really fun party. After the wedding, there was a big barbecue dinner, then entertainment by local talent, including the bride, a beautiful wedding cake, punch, a chocolate fountain (YUMMMMM!!) with all kinds of fruits and cookies, etc, to dip in the fountain, door prizes, games and visiting. Her decorations were red hats! Red hats everywhere, along with purple decorations on the hats and purple net down the centers of the tables. Each lady and girl who didn't wear a red hat to the party received one to wear and then take home.
The bride was in purple, with a red hat, of course. The groom wore a white suit with purple shirt and red tie. The pastor had a purple shirt and red tie as well. On the invitations she requested all the guests to wear red or purple. She recited the poem about "When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple, with a red hat that doesn't go, etc." A really well-planned and fun party, and a wedding none of us will forget.
Do you understand now, Larry? Sorry I got a bit long-winded!
Oh, by the way, Pat----Carol Ann sang to her groom. She sang "You Decorated my Life."
Not many posts today. I am home from the pot luck at the church, I have been over to water my garden. This morning before I went to church Bebe and Happy got into a fur flying fight when she took his toy. Niether of them got injured but I sure had the fur to vacumm up.
I picked up another job today, with the lady that I first worked for when I moved up here. The only problem with it being that she smokes and smokes a lot. YUCKERS, now I will be smelling like smoke again.

Karma and Nard ~ WOO EEEE!!!!! I read about your good news this morning but this pc wouldn't go fast enough for me to post this morning and be at church when we wanted to be at church. Travis, big boy, won't it be fun being a big brother?? ?? ? You will have a brother or sister to play with!!! How about that?
Marilyn ~ So far we have just had lots of rain and some terrible thunder storms. I just try to stay home and turn on the sump pump if needed. Wouldn't leave for very long...wouldn't like having to buy a new furnace, hot water heater, water softener OR a new freezer...they are all in the basment.
Like I said, Jerry and I had to be at church today early. That's two weeks in a row that I have done the lighting. I think I have it down pat now. ;) We didn't leave the church until 12:30 p.m. Then I drove to Anderson so Jerry and I could eat Chinese at our favorite Chinese buffet. I thought of Mieka. Again...we see lots of Mexicans at Chinese restaurants but I have never seen Chinesesssss at Mexican restaurants.
Then I took Jerry home and I came on home after stopping for milk and sandwich spread. I told the Childrens Minister that I had an idea for painting the children's hallway...my niece in Ohio helped paint their hallway. It looks like a street in Jerusalem. Glad I had pictures and I put them on a .pps file and sent them to the Childrens Minister.
Then I noticed a former employee was on AIM...talked to her for awhile. Then Jerry came on line. Now I am just now getting on CP to check up on you guys!!! ?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`

Posted a few photos of the Roses at church.
Congratulations Karma and Nard
Our Granddaughter Jennifer called this afternoon, of course she was looking for info but non- the- less it is wonderful to
know that we are in her thoughts.
We are one of those folk that need a sump pump and ours needs to be replaced about every 5 years if we are lucky - thanks to a back up preventing our basement from being flooded. This time replacing the pump was quite a task as Mel is suffering with his teeth, and he does not know what or where the problem is exactly except that the headache is wild.
Pat: Thanks for all of your hard work.
I also watched the funeral what a remarkable man Ronald Regan was and you were left feeling that he had gone home to be with the Lord.
Ruth
What a slow day!
Here we are still on Page 2 at the end of our day. I sure hope that more folks come on before it's time to lock the door.
I'm here! Hello all of you :)
Bern and Karma - My love and congratulations to you both, and to wee Travis as well. :D
How old will Travis be when his new sibling arrives? ;)
We will be praying for you Karma, that all will go well, that you won't be bothered by the heat this summer. :-[
I don't think I posted this before, but the other night when Norm and I were sitting out fron on our porch, (it was about 7:pm)., and still quite light, two very brazen racoons were sauntering along, like they owned the street, tipping over neighbours' garbage containers. Norm got his spade out, and banged it on the tin can, thinking that would scare them away... no siree...the were so tame, and hardly looked up! :o
About ten minutes later, we heard "CLLOMP CLOMP CLOMP"., and down the street, just taking her time, was a huge deer. Now, this is a fairly active subdivision, no close fields or ravines, and to where she was going, I had no idea. ??? :D
What a beautiful sight that was though. Several neighbours were sitting out just as we were, but of course, nobody had a camera on them.....isn't that always the way? :-\
Well, thats about all the news I have to report....after seeing all that "wildlife"., I said to Norm., "well, now I'm waiting for the BEARS to come out!...LOL :D
Oh wow, Judy. We see raccoons occasionally, but it is mostly groundhogs, 'possums and skunks.
Travis will have turned three just before the baby is due.
Janet - I was a couple of days behind in reading your post.
I was so interested to read of your friend's wedding attire...of the purple and red! ;D She obviously belongs to the 'RED HATTERS SOCIETY" as do I!!
I have been unable to find that complete poem that you mention...would you know where I can read it? ??? I'd sure love to be able to print it out. :-\
Wednesday, I have been invited to take part in a program at our local Seniors' Centre. The head lady, we call her "THE QUEEN MOTHER" IS GIVING A TALK, , and she has asked me to go along, I am to wear my red hat, and purple dress (should be quite a sight...thats for sure)! ;D
Thanks...........Judy M.
Pardon me if I slam the door tonight but we're under a very severe storm watch and I have to do this quickly!
