Morning Devotional...

By faith Noah...prepared an ark to the saving of his house. Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
Hebrews 11:7; Job 1:5

Noah's faith influenced his whole family—they were all saved!

Job was a faithful father who offered up daily sacrifices on behalf of his children.

Fathers are you preparing the ark for your children by your godly example? Are you acting as the spiritual head of your family, by offering up strong prayers for them? Make this your goal and lead them to Christ.

Is there anything more important?

Happy the home when God is there
And love fills everyone one,
When with united work and prayer
The master's will is done.

Happy the home where God's strong love
Is starting to appear.
Where all the children hear His fame
And parents hold Him dear.

Happy the home where prayer is heard
And paise is everywhere,
Where parents love the sacred Word
And its true wisdom share.

Lord, let us in our homes agree
This blessed peace to gain;
Unite our hearts in love to Thee,
And love to all will reign.

Blessing for Fathers

Thank You, God, for fathers and for the faith that supports, guides, and uplifts them.
The Old Testament story of Abraham and his son Isaac illustrates the faculty of faith a parent must exhibit. In the story, Abraham was faced with making a choice concerning his young son. Abraham demonstrated his conviction that God wanted only good for himself and for his family, saying, "God himself will provide the lamb." And God did.

Like Abraham, I may not always know what to do for those who are entrusted into my care. I do know, however, that God will provide all that is needed to guide me and the people I care about.

I grow in faith just as children grow and learn each day. I am grateful for those who guided me on my way, and I am grateful for the faith that supports, guides, and uplifts me at all times.

"Fathers make known to children
your faithfulness."
--Isaiah 38:19

Good morning everyone.  It is a cool morning here and heard some thunder earlier but no rain, at least yet.  I slept in until 8 am this morning.  I guess I am trying to save up some extra energy.

We are going to church in about an hour.  Our pastor is doing a series of sermons on the Book of Ruth and they are very interesting.  I expect we will go out to eat after church and then think our son is planning on coming over later in the day as he e-mailed me to ask if we would be home today.  I told him not to try too early in case we do go out to lunch.

Judy B., glad to see you have your computer working again.  Computers are great but can be very frustrating.  I am sure you will be having warmer weather up your way soon.  We have had some 90 degree days here this year but still not too bad.

Pat and Marilyn, those were good devotional for Father's Day.

Ruth Ann, hopefully missing one dosage of your medicine won't be harmful.  I do know they always say to take the full prescription of antibiotics even when you get to feeling better.

LIz, sounds like those cats are keeping you well entertained.  It is a shame when people have pets and don't properly attend to them.

Sue, glad your new work schedule is working out to your satisfaction.

Good morning, friends,

My goodness - this is the SECOND day in a row I've awakened feeling good. Thanks be to God for His mercies.

Judy, so glad to see you - thankful the family can celebrate Fathers Day together. I'd still love to have lunch or a glass of iced tea with John if he comes through here again.

Larry, you and Al and Papa John. and John, and Skief and Chris and our other men participants are such an inspiration to me. You LEAD your families rather than wait for the wife to be the spiritual leader in the family. My husband was also the leader, and it's been mighty big shoes I've tried to fill all these years.

May God bless our Christian fathers everywhere and draw them close to His bosom each day.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Still raining here lots of water standing around, little lakes everywhere around me on the bare ground. Ok time to get going around here.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

I was awake early enough to see a most beautiful dawning -- I said aloud "Oh, Father, the sky is so pretty. Thank you."  I guess I dozed off again because I dreamt that I had been asked to sing a duet with a former pastor of mine. (definitely a dream!).  The song, by John W. Peterson, was playing in my head as I awoke.  I have not thought of this song for many years, but it so fits the day:

"My Father is omnipotent, And that you can't deny,
A God of might and miracles 'Tis written in the sky.

Though here His glory has been shown; We still can't fully see
The wonders of His might, His throne; 'Twill take eternity.

The Bible tells us of His pow'r And wisdom all way through;
And ev'ry little bird and flow'r Are testimonies, too.

CHORUS
It took a miracle to put the stars in place.
It took a miracle to hang the world in space.
But when He saved my soul, cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace."

What a Father!!  And, awesome as He is, He loves me and allows me to call Him My Father! [/b][/color]
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Worship: Worship With a Stench
Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your
doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil.
--Isaiah 1:16
Let us suppose we are back in the old days of the high priest, who
took incense into the sanctum and went behind the veil and offered
it there. And let us suppose that rubber--the worst-smelling thing
I can think of when it burns--had been available in those days.
Let us suppose that chips of rubber had been mixed with the
incense, so that instead of the pure smoke of the spices filling
the temple with sweet perfume, there had been the black, angry,
rancid smell of rubber mixed with it. How could a priest worship
God by mixing with the sweet-smelling ingredients some foul
ingredient that would be a stench in the nostrils of priest and
people?
So how can we worship God acceptably when there is within our
nature something that, when it catches on fire, gives off not a
fragrance but a smell? How can we hope to worship God acceptably
when there is something in our nature which is undisciplined,
uncorrected, unpurged, unpurified--which is evil and which will
not and cannot worship God acceptably? Even granted that a man
with evil ingredients in his nature might with some part of him
worship God half acceptably, what kind of a way is that to live?
Tozer on Worship and Entertainment, 8-9.

"Purify my heart. Bring to my remembrance anything that might be
a stench in Your holy nostrils. Cleanse me, that my worship this
morning might be a sweet perfume, pleasing to You in every way.
Amen."

Jane, what a beautiful dream and wonderful song.  I'm sure the dream had meaning and the Lord will reveal it to you when it's time.  And what a way to start your day; eh?  In His Presence, fully aware, there is nothing on earth, nor in heaven, to compare.

Etta Sue

Marilyn, I am not 65 yets so didn't know the difference between SS.  I draw SS from my husband and will draw my own at 65½.  I am not on disability.

The wedding was beautiful.  I must be getting old.  All I saw was Dollar Signs.  I cannot imagine what a wedding like that would cost.  And then the couple are honeymooning in Cancun, Mexico.  And this is a couple that just graduated from college and isn't working.  Oh, well!

Church was awesome today.  Both messages was about Deborah, the Judge.  After church I ate some lunch then came home.  When I got to church this morning there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  But when I left, the sky was full of clouds....some dark.  I hate to do this but I used my weed-eater when I got home and then mowed.  After charging the weed-eater back up, I finished weed-eating.  Then watered the plants.

Ivalou came home while I was cooling off in my swing and mowed, too.  She came over and just left.

Tomorrow I have a doctor appointment and then Small Groups back in the woods.

Etta Sue;  You have sure been busy with mowing and watering.  Summer is going so quickly.

Ruth:  We only have a walkway here at this patio home and I have planted herbs and some flowers.  Miss the garden often but then we can leave so much easier now.  What do you have in your garden?

Larry:  I have Electric Quilt 5 as well as Pat.  Can you tell me where the classes are online and if there is any fee?  I have used it and have books as well but it is easier for me to learn by just following exact directions.  I have heard of the implanted defibs and they do wonders.  What an interesting world we live in.

Peace to all,
Carol

We are home from church.  What a wonderful celebration, how I missed my family.

Great devotionals today Pat and Marilyn.

John did bring home the good weather, after close to 2 weeks of cold damp weather the sunshine was sure welcome.

Ruth Anne John has not been back to GA since the trip where he met you.  That seemed to be a trial run, maybe not using the resin from Canada.

Well GTG, folks talk soon
