JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

There came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mark 1:40

What a picture of an unregenerate sinner! Dying slowly of leprosy, an incurable disease. So he came to Christ.

That is our human responsibility—to come. He came humbly kneeling, asking earnestly, not demanding but pleading. "If you will, you can make me clean," is his plea.

He knew he was unclean, and hopeless unless the Lord helped him. He believed the Lord could make him clean. If you come to the Lord that way, you'll find Him willing and able to save you and cleanse you from sin too.

Why not come today?
—Carl Knott

Come away to Jesus,
He is willing to forgive;
His love will shine around you
every moment that you live.

Good morngin/afternoon/evening.  Sorry I didn't get in here Saturday.  We had a wedding to shoot and it was midnight before we got everything squared away, dumped, etc.  It was fun.  Wouldn't want to do it for a living, but an wedding here and there is okay.  :)

We seem to have the pink eye at our house.  :(  Travis caught it somewhere, and now Kristi has it.  Because she is so young, I have to call the doctor in the morning (Sunday), and the nurse said he will likely want to see her (again).  Any tips for keeping youngsters healthy?  Besides sealing them up in a sanitary bubble?

I will let ya'll go now.

don't forget to show us your "Self Portrait!"

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We finally have a sunny morning and no rain forecast at least until this evening.

I had a truly wasted day yesterday.  I rested most of the day and by 7 pm went to bed as couldn't keep my eyes open.  I didn't get up until 7 this morning but we are planning on going to church and I want to keep my eyes open today.

Pat, those chores or tasks we have planned that don't get done can either wait or didn't need to be done anyway.  Hope you are feeling better today.

Marilyn, not sure I would take any more food if it is going to be thrown away.  I agree with you in not trying to change the mind of a 96 year old woman.

Karmat, sorry about the "pink eye".  These little ones seem to be very prone to picking up a lot of childhood illnesses and what one gets the other will likely get as well.

Liz, sorry to hear you and Wendy are feeling poorly.

Janet, it sounds like Abby is keeping close tabs on you.  The wildflower tour sounds nice.  Hope you didn't get any of those bad storms that hit the midwest last night.

Hope everyone will have a good day.

Carol

Here is a copy of today's daily devotion from High Calling.  I so enjoy these short notes.

Daily Reflection and Prayer   by Eugene H. Peterson

"At the Right Hand of the Needy"
READ Psalm 109:30-31

QuoteWith my mouth I will give great thanks to the LORD; I will praise him in the midst of the throng. For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save them from those who would condemn them to death.
Psalm 109:30-31

Ours is not a storybook god, a heroic figure calculate out of a mythical past. Nor is he a philosophical god, a divine idea available to clever minds for answering questions about life. God is he whom we need at our right hand to save us from condemnation.

Prayer: "God be in my head, and in my understanding; God be in mine eyes, and in my looking; God be in my mouth, and in my speaking; God be in my heart, and in my thinking; God be at mine end, and at my departing" (Sarum Primer). Amen.

Ruth Ann:  I wish you the very best on your qwest to fix-up the portion of your home.  There will be an answer for you someday.  It would be so much fun to visit your area.

Pat:  Good that your sleep is improving.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

Al:  A good Sunday to you!  Yes, we often get stopover visitors in the late spring and during the early fall as they travel to and from home in the mid-west.  I often say that we should have bought a B&B.  This springtime was a bit sad for me as 4 couples planning to visit had to cancel their travel plans here because of weather so we stayed home for naught.

Larry:  Isn't it good that Karmat and I caught that note about Florida?  This week, the 9th, is Don's appt. with his doc and he will find out just what test they are to perform for his heart.  I am sure the VA will not have a date scheduled so there will be more waiting.

Building Bridges

God is the way and my source of life and abundance.

Our prayers create a bridge of faith that we cross over to heal physical or emotional hurt. We can heal even when there seems to be no way for us to experience health of mind and body.

We move from pain to relief, from anger to forgiveness through the sacred activity of prayer. In prayer we affirm healing of our bodies and our relationships. Believing in God and healing, we affirm the healing and express the healing that is the very core of God's plan of our creation.

Through prayer we build a bridge over troubles and challenges. We make a conscious connection to the power and presence of God within us and every situation. God is the way and our source of life and abundance.

"He said to the one who was paralyzed--'I say to you, stand up and take your bed and go to your home.' Immediately he stood up before them, took what he had been lying on, and went to his home, glorifying God."--Luke 5:24-25

Good Morning. Yesterday was just not a good day for me healthwise. I forgot to take my medication yesterday morning and didn't remember it until last evening,. With the wind blowing, the air full of pollen and me forgetting my meds, I sneezed all day long and my sinus's were so full I was miserable. Then I go to the church to run off the bulletin and the copy machine needs toner, and I couldn't find any toner in the office, so I had  it done at the Office Supply and it cost me $11.44. The cost is no big deal just the running around.

When I finally discovered that I had not taken my meds it was too late to take them. That was the second time this week I forgot my meds. I only have 3 prescriptions that I have to take daily 2 of which are allergy pills.

Praise God though this morning, I slept very well last night, I can breath through my nose, and it looks like a wonderful day. This is the day the Lord has made and I WILL rejoice and be glad in it.

So now I am going to check the rental classifieds for the week online. (they only change them once a week)Then get ready for church. So I will be back in a bit.

Good morning, friends,

Pat, thanks for the little ads we can click on. I found just the CD I was looking for in today's selection.

Marilyn, along with all my cleaning chores yesterday, I strategically placed kleenex boxes - even the allergy meds didn't take care of THAT level of deep cleaning!  ;)

It promises to be an extremely warm day today - yesterday the temps topped 90 degrees - even cold natured Ruth Ann was perspiring. I may need to turn on the air conditioner pretty soon.

Well, y'all have a great day. I must get ready to head to church.

Love to all,

Ruth Ann

Sorry folks for not showing up in here that often.  This month is probably the busiest month of the year for me, because of dance.  I also shot my first wedding yesterday. Wooohooo!!  It turned out great!

Here are some PICTURES I took.   ;D

I need to get going ..dance practice in a few hours and I need to feed the kids lunch and get things ready.

have a wonderful day!!!!

Janet

Hi there Soni, good to see you!  I hope you are keeping those sweet kids of yours in church, amid all the busyness of your hectic life.

Ruth Ann, it has really warmed up here, too---we may be paying soon for all those wonderful, cool days we have been having.

Church was great! Now I am going to find something to eat, go pick up my painting buddy and head for Fowler!  ;D ;D  So, if you happen to think of me this week, just send a prayer upward for me to have a productive week and safe travel.  Thanks!

Hey! It's me again.  ;D

I have been somewhat "otherwise occupied" for a while but did manage to keep up with the posts here in NEM (and elsewhere).

I do appreciate the devotionals y'all put in here.  As someone (Suzanne?) already noted: it's like going to church and feeling as the message is personally tailored.

SONI~I love the wedding photos!  You done GOOD, Girlfriend!!

Marilyn, I am enjoying your ongoing description of the changes being made at your place.  Also, good shots of the sunset and moonset.

KARMA~Sorry about the pink eye at your house.  Seems it's always something when you're raising young'uns.

Janet~I will keep you in prayer this week while you're away ... Hurry back!

I won't be able to comment on each post today, but be assured I have read each one and commented to myself.  Sorry you couldn't hear.   ;)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Etta Sue

What a wonderful time we had in Ohio.

A little funny...well, it was funny to us.  I stopped at a Truck Stop for a pit stop.  It was raining so I said...I will use Jerry's handicap placard and park in the handicap parking.  If anyone says anything, I will tell them that Jerry is in the trunk!!!  Ivalou said....And he sure is handicapped!!!

I found out my cell phone was showing NO SERVICE.  I used my nieces home phone to call Jerry's daughter.  Left a Voice Mail.  Then I used Erik's Verizon cell phone, identical to mine and left another Voice Mail for Lynn.  We went to the dance rehearsal.  I was thinking...I guess I can call Lynn tomorrow and take Jerry's ashes to her.  The someone squatted beside me and it was Lynn.  A g-niece was dancing at the time so we watched her and then went out to our cars.  It was good to see Lynn...I miss not seeing her often.  The rehearsal wasn't as late as years before.

Friday, Ivalou and I went to a Radio Shack.  One of the displays on my phone said HOME ONLY.  So it wasn't set right when I got it for the service I am paying for.  The man called Verizon and Verizon walked him through it and got it working fine now.  Nothing I did.  But he asked me if I had dropped the phone....no.  My antenna was cracked all around the antenna.  So when I got back to Jo's, I used nail glue and glued it back.  I have no idea why it was cracked.

Friday night was the dance recital.  Very good.  Edie, the 17½ year old was great in her solo performance.  Kara, 12 years next month, had improved greatly.  Lydia, 6 years old, was about the only one in her group that did everything on beat and didn't mess up.  She has been dancing 3 years now.

We were told that Erik, 15 years, would not be playing baseball.  The diamond had a water leak in the sprinkling system and they had to dig up the diamond.  But Friday, Erik's coach said there would be a double-header Saturday and Erik was pitching at the noon game.  I wasn't prepared to sit out in the sun.  So we packed the car, Lydia came home with us, and went to the game.  Well, they had three different pitchers...not Erik and lost the first game 8 to 7.  Between games I went to the car and got my folding chairs and umbrella.  After a half hour, game two started and Erik was pitching.  The game was called in the 6th inning because of the 10-point rule.  Erik's team won 3 to 13!!!!!  Erik is 15, 6'3" tall and skinny as a rail!!!  Freshmen but was selected to play on the Varsity team.  Great pitcher!!

But I have the worse sunburn on my face and arms than I have had for years and I was under the umbrella the second game.  My face was so hot and hurting, I didn't get online last night.  Still a little burny today but better after taking some pain killer/fever reducer caplets.  I don't have any sunburn lotion but I have put on Skin So Soft to keep my skin pliable.  I know I am blistered and will look a mess in a week when I start peeling.  Right now I am a lobster.  Owwwwy!

So this morning I had 96 emails before going to church.  The sermons today was on Rahab and the Two Spies.  Did you realize that there are only two women in the lineage between Adam and Jesus and they are Rahab and Mary, Jesus' mother?  So that means that Jesus' great times 29 grandmother was a prositute.  God uses the lowest for His purpose.  After both services, we had an Audio/Visual meeting.  New software for the overhead presentations.  Anyone use Media Shout at their church? That is what we will be using.  Even has in the software several versions of the Bible and My Documents and WORD can be used.  Only a one time fee for all the computers you want to use.  A savings in time and money.

Then I came home and Ivalou, Lydia and I went to another g-niece's Open House.  She graduated from high school last night.

Busy days...but I love it!!!

Ruth

Hello all:
It has been sunny and warm but also humid  in our part of Ontario I was out visiting this afternoon and this evening I watered the plants but I also feel that the bugs did a wonderful job at bitting I think perhaps I should do the watering in the morning.

Karma: I wish for your family to get better real soon.

Larry: Florida is a wonderful state to visit - but only at the right time of year.

Ruth Ann:  I too am thinking of retiring soon and man oh man the days seem to drag.

Already I am starting to feel tired so I think it will be an early night.

Ruth
