Morning Devotional...

This is My beloved Son.          Matthew 3:17
This is my beloved...my friend.       Song of Solomon 5:16

Christ is both the Beloved of the Father and the Beloved of the saints.

He who is the delight of His Father's heart is the delight of His people also, so that we may say, "Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ."

Together with the Father we have found all that we desire in the Son.

He is our Beloved, too.

Taken up with Thee, Lord Jesus,
I would be;
Finding joy and satisfaction
All in Thee;
Thou the nearest, and the dearest,
unto me.

Just "slipping in" for a minute.  Too many posts to read just now, as I must get ready for church.  If Norm isn''t feeling well enough to take me; I'll call a friend.

Just a note Janice:  What is Nexium for?  I've seen it advertised as the little purple pill.  Norm gets a lot of stomach pain and nausea.  Do you need a Rx for it?  Do you think it would help him?

Oh, Janet... I'd love to hear that John and Beth "fell for each other"... wouldn't that be wonderful?  Be sure and keep me updated.

I'm a "hopeless romantic"...LOL

I will go back later today and read all the NEM posts I've missed.

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Have a good God Blessed Sunday everyone!

My, Judy, you're an early bird this morning!  It is now 6:51 here in Kansas, and I thought I'd check out CP before doing other things.  Since we are going to Colorado to church, we have an extra hour today.  (Colo. is on Mountainl time, we are on Central.)  Beth wants to go wtih us.  Tomorrow is her big day!  She asked me if I want to go with her to meet John in Garden City, I asked why would she want her Mom along, and she said "Because I want a photographer!"  ;) ;D ;D ;D ::)

I am going to watch a couple church services on TV now, so I will see all of you later!

My, we do have some early birds this morning.  And I thought I was early.

Good morning, Janet and Judy!  Also glad to see Trish stopped in to say Hi.  Sure hope you come back more often.  School is out here now also.

Another busy day.  Church and then the Home Tour.  Will be interesting having Lydia with us.

God Bless All of You...

Good Sunday morning to everyone.  I have read all the posts but not going to try to write individual messages this morning.  We will be headed for church after while but we are not going out to lunch today as our son is suppose to come over this afternoon.

Glad to see you home Etta Sue.  Pat, hope you are feeling better today.

I will try to get back later.

Good Morning all you early birds. It is 6:47 here on the west coast.

Lord Bless this day for each and every person, open the ears of all those going to your house this day that they may hear what you are saying to them.Annoint every Pastor and teacher with a double anointing to preach your word in a manner pleasing to you. Remove the spiritual cataracts of those who do not know you  that they may see and come to the full, deep and clear knowledge that you are GOD . Protect those who are traveling today Lord and bring them safely home.

Pat I am reading in the Song of Solomon today. What a wonderful book telling us of Jesus love for his children.

No posts for awhile in here!   :o

Well....  Let's sing then.

Just over in the glory land

I've a home prepared where the saints abide
Just over in the glory land
And I long to be by my Saviour's side
Just over in the glory land

Just over in the glory land
I'll join the happy angel band
Just over in the glory land
Just over in the glory land
There with the mighty host I'll stand
Just over in the glory land

I am on my way to those mansions fair
Just over in the glory land
There to sing God's praises and his glory share
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

What a joyful thought that my Lord I'll see
Just over in the glory land
And with kindred saved, there forever be
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

With the blood washed throng I will shout and sing
Just over in the glory land
Glad hosannas to Christ, the Lord and King
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

I came in a fexed me something to eat, turned on John Hagee then laid on the couch to relax. ;)

Papa John

Well it isn't morning anymore so good afternoon everybody.

Good to see Pat, Judy, Janet, Etta Sue, Larry, and Marilyn.  Not too big a crowd today.  We really had a good service this morning.  Tonight we begin our Vacation Bible School.  I should have kept my mouth shut but several months ago I volunteered to help with the drama part.  So tonight and then the next three nights through Wednesday night I will be working with some teenagers in presenting little dramas from the last Week in Jesus' life.

Except for a little shower earlier this afternoon we have had another beautiful day.  Finally it has warmed up to 80 degrees.

I put a little picture of me over in photos in my Apostle John costume which I know you are all dying to see.

Good evening.  A wonderful day.  Today we had some special music....identical twins sang...Mary and Sherry...looked like in their 50's.  Great harmony.  Our sermon was by the missionary that 22 of our members went to Thailand and helped him build a church.  He said that he knew that we had heard all kinds of stories about Thailand and that there were two things that he could talk about this morning.  One, a sermon on scripture or, two, the REAL story about Thailand.  We all laughed but he had his sermon on scripture.  Jerry and I then had breakfast out and I left him at his house and came on home.  Ivalou, Lydia and I went on our Home Tour.  I couldn't believe such nice homes in small town Lapel.  Two are within a half-mile of me.  The sod farmer's home is great...4,000 sq ft with lots of antiques and old quilts.  Murals painted on the walls.  His home is only 3 years old.  Then next to it is a 5,000 sq. ft. home that all you can see from the road is the roof.  It contained a hodgepodge of all kinds of collections....salt & peppers shakers but all had a face on them....Raggedy Ann's....all kinds of glassware....even a T-shirt signed by Dick Clark.  Plus a bunch more of everything.  One home was a home of her husbands for 98 years.  He died at 102 ½.  She is 87.  No children and he was our small town millionaire.  She has traveled all over the world...even went to Antartica when she was in her 60's.  If we could have had her talk, her home would have lots of stories.  Another house had murals painted everywhere....looked medieval.  Very pretty for a home built in the 50's.  Another was small but I really liked it best.  Then the last one was my niece's home...just a year and a half old.  She is a great decorator.  But it was fun to see the homes and see people I hadn't seen for 40 plus years.  And Lydia did great.  She was a good little girl.

Now my legs and feet are tired.  Need to get horizontal!!!

God Bless You All!!!

Ruth Ann Bice

Today has been such a good day, even though I had to finish it up by working for 3 hours.

With this being Pentecost Sunday, the focus was on the Holy Spirit and how He leads, guides, and comforts. Our substitute song leader for the summer is one of the most humble young men a person could ever meet. He spoke a few words this morning, but had a huge problem because he was so overwhelmed simply by the bigness and goodness of God that he was trying to keep the lump in his throat down enough that he could speak. What a godly minister he'll be!

Then lunch with friends. Then, I had locked myself out of the house this morning (senior moment, I'm afraid  :-\), so a young friend who lives not far from my work brought me her key to my house and we had a copy made at K-Mart. Since she was so sweet to me, I suggested I drink a cup of tea while she was eating her lunch, so I "ate" lunch twice and everyone was so sweet and congenial.

Then, I worked for 3 hours and visited my son who's having such a difficult time of it with bad debilitating headaches.

All told, a busy, but good day. Isn't it great to worship God! What blessings we receive each day.

Ruth Ann

Well, here we are back from Oregon.  It's soooo good to be home!  We always like our place better when we get back.
Turned out my boyhood friend and his wife up in Brookings are JWs - but thery don't seem died-in-the-wool JWs, so maybe the future holds better things - pray we'll have another time or two with them.
The Church service up there went well - not many people, but very attentive.  And we had a young gal play the piano for our singing, which was great.

Pat

Great to have you home, Al!
I was praying for you and maybe this isn't the best news but we can continue to pray for your friends.

It's been a slow day here at CP but I expect that everyone is busy with their Sunday things.

I've spent quite a bit of time with ice packs on my cheek!  I've looked like a chipmunk with the swelling!   :o

Charles Weigle was an Itinerant evangelist.  One day after preaching at a gospel crusade, he came home to find a note from his wife.  She did not care for the life she led because of being an evangelist's wife and she was leaving him.

The next few years were a time of despair for Weigle.  He even wondered if anyone really cared for him.  After a time, his faith was again restored and he became active for the Lord again.

During this time he wanted to put to paper a song that would share the feelings he had experienced while during his despondent days.

From his heart came the words and the tune for the hymn,  "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus."

No One Cared For Me Like Jesus

I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true;
I would tell you how He changed my life completely -
He did something that no other friend could do.

chorus:
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There's no other friend so kind as He;
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me -
O how much He cared for me!

All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me;
All my heart was full of misery and woe;
Jesus placed His strong and loving arms around me,
And He led me in the way I ought to go.

Every day He comes to me with new assurance,
More and more I understand His words of love;
But I'll never know just why He came to save me,
Till some day I see His blessed face above
.

Hi Pat!  Sorry your jaw is swollen and hope you're better soon.  I haven't heard the hymn you posted before, but like the words.  (No one cared for me but Jesus)

Etta Sue - I would love to have toured those houses with you.  Closest I came to it was our monthly flea market in town with all the old 'stuff' to see.   Made offers on a few items but didn't buy any.

We finally saw sunlight today!  Rains are supposed to return on Wednesday and last till the weekend.  With 6 guests here for about 5 days, Truett and I have been thinking about indoor things to do.

Papa John, you'll do just fine with the drama for VBS and the kids will love you for helping them.

Many of our congregation were away this morning leaving empty spaces here and there.

Joan,
George Beverly Shea sang it a lot at the Billy Graham Crusades throughout the years.

Nice to see you, Joan!
My jaw won't be sore all that long.  It's just from all the chipping and chiselling.  The ice packs sure help.

I posted some lovely photos tonight for Lowtekrednek...

Pat - I LOVE that hymn... No One ever cared for Me like Jesus.... sometimes when I sing it; I feel very weepy.  Does anyone find hymns affect them that way?  I have wondered if thats the way the Lord is ttalking or ministering to me... does this make sense?

Our church was packed to the rafters again today.  We had a visiting missionary from the Phillipines.  I am sorry to say that I was SO TIRED from a busy Saturday, I almost fell asleep, so didn't get very much out of the message. :o

I am putting a prayer request in, so please read it; I would appreciate your prayers.  ..Thanks! :(

Janet:  Well....how about a picture of John!! - is he a "possibility"??!!  LOL ;)

What a lovely day we've had.  We started out with Charles Stanley on TV.  Then to church for our Pentecost Sunday service.  Home for lunch and a call to my mother and off to see "Memories on Wheels" at the high school athletic field with around a hundred vintage vehicles, including severa motorcycles.  I took some pictures which I'll try to get posted tomorrow night.

After we got home and read the Sunday papers we watched John Hagee, had supper and wound up with Joyce Meyer.  When Gene turned on a car race, in which I'm not at all interested, I decided to get my car pictures out of the camera and see how much "perking up" they'd need.

It'll be an early night for me tonight - 8:00 a.m. at work tomorrow (and every day all week).

Let's see if I can squeeze in before Pat locks the door. It has been a nice day. We had a thunderstorm during church and it was still raining when we got out but stopped soon after. It's muggy out but this IS Florida!

Today I officially became a senior citizen.  ;D  We took a golf cart ride to see the buffalo in the village and stopped for some supper and an ice cream cone. All in all I had a wonderful day. Talked with my "kids" on the phone.

Thanks for the devotional and the hymns. Also love to read all the chatter!

Beverly

HAHAHA!  Beverly, it will be a little late tonight before the door is locked as I've spent a lot of time under the influence of pain meds today so I'm really late!

I've looked at your buffalo photos.  They're great!

Well, it's that time again!  Time to lock the door after a lovely time in NEM.  Thanks for being such a wonderful group of people.

As we begin a new week, let's remember the verse that has been on my mind all day today...

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.  1 Corinthians 10:13

Those words "Whatsoever ye do" are so meaningful, aren't they?
