JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa. 53:4

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
John 19:1

The Roman scourge, wielded by a soldier's muscular arm, devastated human flesh. Such a beating was brutal. But to be smitten by the arm of God--an arm so powerful that it took only His fingers to fashion gigantic stars--is beyond our comprehension.

It was love for you and me that motivated Christ to endure such torment.

He took our punishment, "and with His stripes we are healed" (Isa. 53:5).
--D. Logan

Jehovah lifted up His rod--O Christ it fell on Thee!
Thou wast sore stricken of Thy God,
There's not one stroke for me.

Pat tell me something.  Did Mom replace zippers?  I pay $8:00 as well.

Good devotional.  Mom had me memorize that chapter in Isaiah.  Imagine the healing that is done to our soul.  That to me in incomprehensible, that He would take that on for me.  Doesn't matter about the aches and pains, my soul and spirit are healled.

We have the puppies out running the kitchen.  The one we are keeping is attacking Mommy and she has used corporal punnishment to discipline.  Even the animal world knows what to do with misbehaving kids!

Well it is even later and I have finally wound down.

Night again.

:coffee: Good word Pat! Good morning everyone. I'm off to "Building Godly Relationships" and then Worship...So Y'all have a blessed, happy, and fortunate (To be envied) Day! That's from the Amplified Bible. Peace, Ritz.

Good Morning, Good devotional this morning Pat, Thank you.

We are having the same speaker this morning that we had on Wednesday night. I am so looking forward to the service today and tonight too with another speaker.

I have gathered up all the ingredients to make Borscht for Jan on Tuesday. Tomorrow night I am going to get it all measured out and into plastic bags and containers except for the potatoes I will clean and cut them over there. Borscht is so good when it is made the right way. I promised I would make some for Jan for her birthday she will be 93 on Thursday. Fay will be 97 in July. Praise the Lord for their long lives.

Good morning from sunny Florida!!!  No problems other than traffic in getting here.

Yesterday was went to see the Lippazaner Horses.  Horses that General Patton rescued from Austria.  They are born brown but turn white and are great show horses.  They travel all over for small circuit shows.  But I got a terrible sunburn.  I had an umbrella for my chair but it spooked a horse so I folded it up thus I got burnt.  I am fine today except when I am in the sun.

Ivalou turned her leg and her knee hurts.  She is keeping ice on it for the time being.  Hopefully us crips will be capable of doing something tomorrow and the rest of the week!  But we are away from home and the temp is 81 degrees!!!

See you all next in about 8 days!

 Good day to each of you.
It is a beautiful Sunny day here today.
I have just come home from church. It was great to felloeship and recive the word of God.
Our Pastor spoke on maintaining the presence of God.
Praying for you all-have a great day!

Janet

First I want to thank Liz for her kind words.  Yes, it is hard being the Mom of a son or daughter with problems.  I guess God knows what we can handle, it surely isn't a job for sissies, is it?  Not that parenting any child is a walk in the park!

Beth fell again last night, and we were out for the evening, so she was on the floor for quite a while before she found someone willing to come out and help her get up. :(  It is such a constant worry, but Darrel and I have to maintain lives of our own, too----we cannot be here 24/7 every day of the year.  What to do?  What to do?  I'm sure God will answer our prayers soon and give us the wisdom to make the right decisions for all of us.

The play last night was so much fun, and they did a terrific job.  It does us a world of good to be able to laugh and have a good time.  But it flies out the window quickly when I find three messages of distress from Beth on the phone when I get home. :( Ah, well......God knows, understands and will give us grace.

Abby is here now, she just went out to visit Beth, as Beth finally got the box John sent with the Christmas gift for Abby that Beth bought way back in August.  Procrastination seems to be a strong point of John's........... ;)

I need to run.  The ladies are meeting at church in a few minutes to do a video for our upcoming retreat.  We are all getting "cowboyed up" and making a video to the soundtrack from Rawhide.  Should be a blast!   I'll let you know how it turns out.

A special time this morning - interpretive dancing by one of the young girls in our congregation.  She danced to "Holy, Holy, Holy", using streamers and it was one of the most beautiful performances I've seen!  One of the amazing things about this is that her coreographer/teacher is a lady who has been a paraplegic for 30 years or more - a wonderful deeply spiritual christian who is never seen without a big cheerful  smile and nary a word of complaint.  Her husband says she is just the same at home as she is in public.

Then we had a report, with some great pictures, from the pastor and another man from our congregation who spent a week in Florida helping rebuild after the hurricane that devastated the area two years ago.

And we had a message about One Great Hour of Sharing and the good that's been done through that program.

All in all, a wonderful Sunday morning.   <3

Well........that was fun!  It took us a bit to think up something to do and write a script; then we did about four "takes" but got our video done!  It will be used on our new power point system to announce the retreat.

We all had on jeans, most of us had western shirts, all had cowboy hats, a couple had boots, one borrowed a little boy's toy pistol, a couple of us had kerchiefs.......we lined up in "cowboy stance" and tried to look mean (hard to do when you are stifling laughs!).  The soundtrack to Rawhide started, then pastor read something similar to this:  "There's a mean posse of yahoos coming this way.  They're lean, they're mean, and they will hunt you down.  They're energized, baptized and deputized and they're lookin' for a few good women."  The sound track came back up, and we swaggered forward, with one gal falling down the two steps off the platform.  She jumped up, we resumed our stances, and pastor read: " Come to Springs in the Plains women's gathering, "Suddenly" , March 24th and 25th in Ulysses, Kansas.  DON'T MISS IT!!"  Then we yelled "YEE-HAW" etc, waved our hats and ropes in the air and charged down the center aisle.    It is pretty hysterical!  ^-^  We had planned to make it ourdoors, but the wind is gusting up to 55 MPH here today!  :P

Jeanne, don't you just love those special times with the Lord?  I do.

I need to pay attention to Abby for a while.  See you later.

It is almost time to go back to the church for our 120 prayer meeting. WE are believing for 120 prayer warriors to gather at our church for prayer, so far that is sometime in the future as we have about 30 toward that goal.

The evening service will be a couple who will minister in song and music.

Wednesday night will be a team teaching by our Pastor Danny and a Church of Christ Pastor from Arcata, he has been to our Revivals and other services. This past wed night his wife attended while he ministered out of town. They  are good friends of Danny's.

We were sure blessed at this morning's service.  The evangelists wife ministered in Hebrew dance and tambourine playing. She was born in Mexico but has been teaching Hebrew dance there and in America for 12 years. It was a fantastic service. Janet I wish you could have been there, You too JudyB. I wish everyone of you could have been there, it was good Preaching and good Worship.

ps why doesn't anyone play the games anymore? Did ya get burnt out on them?

Hi everyone.  Nice to read all the postings since I last posted.

We went to Sunday School and then attended church.  The choir sang a moving anthem based on "For God So Loved the World".  Following church about 11 of us went out to eat at a new place that was a buffet and cost $6 per person.  There were so many people there that they couldn't keep up with the food.  I don't think our group will be going back at least on a Sunday.

Yesterday I decided I needed to reformat the main hard disk on my desktop computer.  So I have been busy reinstalling the software I want to run and getting the settings back.  There is a lot of work and I expect it will occupy most of my time tomorrow.

Janet, you are certainly correct that you and Darrell must also have a life of your own and cannot always be on call.

Glad to see that Etta Sue and her sister have arrived safely in Florida.

On Thursday the church was packed to hear Anne Graham Lotz.   There will be a huge gathering in Sept. for women called "JUST GIVE ME JESUS"   with Anne speaking.   I will be one of the counsellors. Many people will be involved with this conference.    Anne is an amazing speaker and she was saying her 'Daddy' was doing very good.  Mom not so good.  Is confined to a wheelchair with arthritis.  So we are getting ready to invite non-Christians to go to the Air Canada Centre in Toronto in September.

Love Ruthie
