JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

We have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
John 4:42

The Samaritan woman had introduced Christ to her neighbors and many were saved. Their words here brought a fourth revelation of the Lord to her soul.

At first she had seen Him only as "a Jew" (v. 9), thinking it strange He would even speak to her. When He said He knew she was living with a man who was not her husband, she realized He was a "prophet" (v. 19), and as the talk continued, she learned that He was the "Christ" (v. 25), for whom both Jews and Samaritans were waiting.

And then came the final revelation--He was really "the Saviour of the world."
--W. P. W. McVey

Christ the Saviour of sinners
came into the world to save;
Sing His glory, His worth, His fame,
Jesus alone can save.

God morning to you all and all of you have a good morning, too.

Today I work the lights so I get to hear the sermon twice.  It makes for a long morning but a fulfilled morning.  And also the Mexican restaurant is open when we leave....

My two furballs are truly warming up to each other.  They actually play now.  I do believe that Inky is good for Ali.  Ali looks bigger.  Hopefully muscle now.  Whew!  They do eat a lot though.

For Papa John....

Hi everyone.  We have a windy but so far sunny day.  However, they are saying that tonight we will get down to freezing again.

We will be heading to Sunday School and Church in a little while and then this afternoon I have a homeowner's association meeting to attend.  Fortunately it is right next door so it is handy.

Ria, one day saddness with the death of the Queen Princess and the next a new life in that family to celebrate.  God is good.

Pat, a very fine devotional this morning.

Yesterday, while out driving, I was thinking about how the Lord has changed the whole direction of my family.  After I became a Christian in 1972...I have watched the miracle take place .

First my wife, and now all of my children and their spouses are serving the Lord...howbeit, some more closely than others.

We are beginning a new generation that will serve God.

I got home and my wife had great news for me....Maryjo, the wife of our nephew Jeff has accepted the Lord....She's going to the alter this morning to make public profession of her newfound faith.

Praise God!  I went to sleep last night more thankful than when I woke up.  This morning my heart is filled to overflowing.

I told one of my daughters the other day:  "People who don't know Jesus miss so much, AND they don't even know it."
I am a nobody
Telling everybody
There is a somebody
That can save anybody

Hello Everyone!  (from cold and really blustery Guelph)

Ed, I'm rejoicing with you on the news of yet another family members being saved.  That's the most wonderful news!  Thanks for telling us in here so that we can rejoice with you.

Ria, I see you have the wind too.  Actually, the wind kept me awake in the night it was howling so much and I saw things blowing around outside.  Yes, where I used to live before moving to Guelph, there was a huge tract of land that was owned by the Royal family in Holland.  It's the property of Don Head Farms and it ran for 1 1/4 miles square and we always knew it as "the Dutch land".  There's a big shopping center now on the land and lots of buildings and apartment buildings so I guess it was eventually sold to the city of Richmond Hill.

I hope you had a wonderful time worshipping the Lord at church today, Zac!  I'm so happy to read that you love going so much.  You're part of a great family!

Sounds like you have a busy day too, Larry!  Enjoy!  Good you don't have far to go to your second meeting!   ;D

Talk to you later, Sarah!  8)

Etta Sue, Geordie and Lauren are starting to warm up to each other as well albeit rather slowly.  LOL

A wonderful day here.  I seen some tulips coming up in a neighbors yard.  :o  I hope they survive.  We don't start getting tulips here till end of May or June.

Another awesome day at church.  We talked about the commitment Jesus had to have died for us.  He stuck with it and didn't give in to the Devil.  Thank you, Lord!

We are going to do some running around outside and Chandraya is waiting for me to go play.

Talk with you later.

Heather Brunet

Hi Aunt Pat!!

Hi Soni!!

I was just reading thru yesterday's posts.  We were busy yesterday fixing the car.  We had no brakes left, the pads on the passenger front side were down to the metal plates that hold them.  So we haven't been driving the car for a little over a week.  It was so nice last night to be able to go out for a drive, and spend some time alone with Jon.

I am not going to be staying online long today.  Jon and I were talking and we have decided that Sundays will be a day when we can spend time together, away from the distractions of the world, to be able to talk, and study together.

And so with that, I am going to go.  God bless ya'll.

Love to all
Heather

Hi Heather.  Great to study together.  Hope everything it going well for you both.  Too bad about the brakes but good that Jon can fix them himself saving the cost of labour.

Nice devotional Pat.  Since I couldn't get to church, watched on TV.  Also saw a fine program (Living Truth) from People's Church in Toronto.  Charles Price is a fine speaker.  Talked about Demons.  Scary stuff!

I did a little searching about Pets & Heaven, since Amanda is still upset.  Found an interesting site that is from a Rev. Anne Robertson, United Methodist Church.  Printed it out for Amanda.  The site is:

Will Mr. Pooper Go To Heaven.  It has good scripture.

The Bible is silent about lots of things.  I have never felt that silence is a negative answer.  We were given brains, and are meant to explore, using our hearts and minds.  To search for answers in logic and love.
Like Etta Sue, I believe God uses pets to teach us about love.

When God is silent about an issue, we are meant to decide with our own hearts and minds.

1 Corinthians 2:9

"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of men
The things which God has prepared for those who love him.

We need to love our Pets and when we get to Heaven, we'll find that God had a perfect plan worked out for them.

Little Zack....go find,  Will Mr. Pooper Go To Heaven. It has lots of great stuff on it....Go ask Jeeves!  You are a great little thinker!

God Bless.  Liz

Pastoral Ministry: A New Type of Preacher

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to
myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry
which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of
the grace of God.
--Acts 20:24

If Christianity is to receive a rejuvenation, it must be by other
means than any now being used. If the Church in the second half
of this century is to recover from the injuries she suffered in
the first half, there must appear a new type of preacher. The
proper, ruler-of-the-synagogue type will never do. Neither will
the priestly type of man who carries out his duties, takes his
pay and asks no questions, nor the smooth-talking pastoral type
who knows how to make the Christian religion acceptable to
everyone. All these have been tried and found wanting.

Another kind of religious leader must arise among us. He must be
of the old prophet type, a man who has seen visions of God and
has heard a voice from the Throne. When he comes (and I pray God
there will be not one but many), he will stand in flat
contradiction to everything our smirking, smooth civilization
holds dear. He will contradict, denounce and protest in the name
of God and will earn the hatred and opposition of a large segment
of Christendom. Such a man is likely to be lean, rugged, blunt-
spoken and a little bit angry with the world. He will love Christ
and the souls of men to the point of willingness to die for the
glory of the One and the salvation of the other. But he will
fear nothing that breathes with mortal breath.  The Size of the
Soul, 128-129.

"Lord, in the first half of this current century this need is
even greater. Send to Your church today many who have 'seen
visions of God and...heard a voice from the Throne.' Amen."

Mr. Pooper is any pet, cat, dog, etc.  Go to 'Ask Jeeves',
type in Will Mr. Pooper Go To Heaven.  It will take you to 'Do Pets Go To Heaven?'  Scroll down until the end of article and it will give an active 'Will Mr. Pooper Go To Heaven'.  That will take you to a really interesting Bible Site about pets.  Let me know how you like it.  Trust me Zach.  I won't give you something bad.
God Bless.  Liz

It says that pets are atoamaticaly excepted! Before Adam and eve sinned, Pets did not hurt or bite anyone! now they eat meat and do things that are sin'sthey do not know right from wrong but they still sin. why? you ask. well I got bit by a dog and that is a sin from him. before Adam and Eve ate the fruite they did not do that stuff. But now they do. Adam and Eve effectad everyones chance to stay alive. even animals. Some of what that site said was true but alot was wrong. Papa John

Well I hope all of you are having a good day today.

Etta Sue, thank you for remembering that we are here in the land of sun and sand.  And it IS nice.  I had a great swim in the pool this afternoon.

After our worship this morning we stopped at a Chinese restaurant for our lunch.  It was very good.  We will be going back there.

Dennis, the minister where we worship when we are down here had, an excellent lesson for us this morning.  He spoke on God's grace and started with   Ps 145:8 "The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love."  He went on to discuss God's grace which is revealed to us in the gospel.  He emphasized that our salvation in Christ is God's gift to us.  We can't buy it.  We can't pay for it.  It is free if we are willing to accept it by receiving Jesus into our lives.

I'm getting ready for a walk in the neighborhood with Cornelia.  We got up early this morning and took our daughter, Martha, to the airport in Sarasota which is just 20 minutes away.  She is now back in Nashville safely and we have talked with her on the phone.  Travel and communication are so wonderful in our modern world.  It is easy for us to keep up with our loved ones even when we are far away.

Pat, I enjoyed the devotion this morning.

There are so many things which we can wonder about but which are not revealed to us.  Consequently there are often different opinions and often we hold them maybe more strongly than we should.  In any case with reference to many of these questions I have to refer to
Deut 29:29  The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever. . . .

God bless you all today.

Must have been a nice service, Papa John.  Christians are expected to be 'slow to anger.'

They scarce can see one rose,
While others count two blossoms

We now have a nice lawn swing in the back yard, thanks to my son-in-law.  Should make for a pleasant time this summer, reading and sketching.  'course I might get stung by a bee......

I'm off for the rest of the day & night.  Pleasant dreams all and God Bless.  Liz

Zachery - I'd like you to consider reading Romans 8:18-25.  It tells us that the whole creation suffers because of Man's fall.  It also tells us that "creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God."  That's going to happen when Christ returns.
See - the thing is that Adam was placed in charge of all the animals, etc. at the time of creation, and when he fell, it caused great harm for all the rest of creation as well.  But in Christ there is redemption, not only of man, but also of creation.  I must assume that includes the animals as well.

Hi, everyone!  We just got home a while ago from Hugoton.  We enjoyed the church service this morning.  Pastor Eric is still teaching through the book of Genesis, is now up to chapter 45.  Interesting series, and I am gaining insights each Sunday.

Papa John, I'm so happy you're enjoying your time in Florida.   ;D ;D

Zachery, I had no idea that people might have such strong opinions about whether or not there will be animals in heaven.  I just thought it might spark some conversation in here.  I miss Mieka's questions!  There is a video by several well-known preachers titled "Animals in Heaven?"  and I would like to watch it, but I don't want to spend the $25 to buy it.  (Cheapskate!) ;)

Marilyn, I believe the time when the lion shall lie down with the lamb is during the millenial reign of Jesus here on earth.  Of course, I could be wrong!  (Imagine that!?!?!)  hahaha.  Also, I don't know that His horse is a stallion---it just says a white horse!  ;) ;) ;D  I hope you realize that I am teasing you!

Ria and Pat, I hope the wind doesn't blow on either of your houses tonight so you can sleep peacefully.

Larry, how did the Homeowners meeting go?  How often do you have those?

Eddie, that is really wonderful that your family continue to come into the fold.  I have some in my family I am still praying earnestly for---and know the time is growing short!

Liz, I hope to have time to go look at the site you talked about concerning the animals.  Thanks!

Curtis is home for Spring break, sure was good to see him and get some of those great hugs!  I plan to go down this weekend and take pics of him and Toni and Mark all ready for the Prom.  Ahhhh,,,,,,,,youth!

Etta Sue, hearing the sermon twice should help you not to miss any of it!  That would be good sometimes.

See y'all later!

Janet, we always enjoy this springtime in Florida.  I believe this is the 11th year in a row we have come down here.  It is very peaceful here where we are in a nice neighborhood not far from the bridge over to the beach.

Time to say good night.  I hope you all have a good rest tonight and a good day tomorrow.

Pat: Thanks for the devotional this morning. As I have been reading the posts I am enjoying yesterday's music.

It has been such a windy and cold day here and as I was reminded it is still only March what else can we expect.
