Morning Devotional...The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord. . . because the brazen altar that was before the Lord was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings. 1 Kings 8:64
Think of the blood that flowed that day and the aroma of those sacrifices ascending one after the other. Surely God must have been well pleased. Yet Hebrews 10:6 tells us, "In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast had no pleasure." There was no satisfaction in all these offerings because they could never measure up to that once for all sacrifice made at the cross of Calvary. Oh the value of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Author: Horatius Bonar, 1808-1889

No blood, no altar now,
The sacrifice is o'er!
No flame, no smoke ascends on high,
The lamb is slain no more,
But richer blood has flow'd from nobler veins,
To purge the soul from guilt,
and cleanse the reddest stains.
We thank Thee for the blood,
The blood of Christ, Thy Son:
The blood by which our peace is made,
Our victory is won:
Great victory o'er hell, and sin, and woe,
That needs no second fight,
and leaves no second foe.
We thank Thee for the grace,
Descending from above,
That overflows our widest guilt,
Th'eternal Father's love.
Love of the Father's everlasting Son,
Love of the Holy Ghost,
Jehovah, Three in One.
We thank Thee for the hope,
So glad, and sure, and clear;
It holds the drooping spirit up
Till the long dawn appear;
Fair hope! with what a sunshine does it cheer
Our roughest path on earth,
our dreariest desert here.
We thank Thee for the crown
Of glory and of life;
'Tis no poor with'ring wreath of earth,
Man's prize in mortal strife,
'Tis incorruptible as is the throne,
The kingdom of our God
and His incarnate Son.

The common cold. My Vivian has two very effective methods in either stopping a cold in it's tracks, and getting rid of one. If the cold is just starting, I assure you Zicam no drip liquid nasal gel stops the symptoms in eight hours. The other is Zinc.
Never overuse Zicam as it can cause loss of smell in some people. I've used it and it's great.
You're absolutely right. LEE! My daughter told me about Zicam a couple years ago and it really does work ... FAST (or should I say quickly ???).
Ruthie.............
I'm always pleased to read of your E.E. team's successes in bringing the lost to our Lord. You folks surely are keeping the heavenly choris very busy. You're a true blessing to Him.
Good night everyone!!!! See you tomorow!!
Zachery
Jane..........
Both ;D
Thanks for that, Lee...
I'm going to see if I can get some tomorrow. This is really coming on quickly tonight. I do have zinc and I've been taking that today.
We have a new member so please everyone, welcome KIM!
Well, I am not entirely sure where my last post disappeared to, but I did post a reply earlier this afternoon.
Mom is partially correct in her description of the employer I work for. It is one of the largest places in North Bay to work for. However, I am sure my mom didn't know, the new call center is now open, and only has about 20 empty seats for either the day shift or night shift. I am almost positive, although I haven't been there in a few weeks, they are almost back up to capacity at the old call center as well now.
Also, the pay we are getting to start is only $1.85 above minimum wage, and IF we meet quota then we are "blessed" with a bonus of another $1.25. It isn't a lot of pay for the verbal abuse we sometimes endure. Some of the things that I hear on a nightly basis would make your toes curl.
Dad, I appreciate the fact that you mentioned you selling life insurance. Although I don't remember that when I go to work at night, I do remember watching your frustration every time you came home, and listening you your stories about George. I only remember his name because I remember calling him George of the Jungle....LOL
My career goal is to become a graphic design artist. I don't know what the pay is like, and it really wouldn't be an issue anyway. I have learned with playing with PSP, and having my printing business that I have a real passion for graphic art. It is something that I would have no problem working on for hours and hours on end, and Jon can attest to the fact that I have, on many occasions. I remember telling you a while ago that I was thinking about becoming a social worker. I firmly believe this was an emotional reaction to what is going on with my family. Although I am interested in what happens in the life of a social worker, I have learned how studying social work can turn a warm friendly caring individual into a cold unfriendly uncaring one, and I don't want that for my life or my family.
Anyway, it is again time for bed.
Love to all,
Heather

Good morning all.
I slept soooo good last night. Probably because I was so tired from the lack of sleep the night of the retreat. And from all the walking while shopping tires me as well.
I am ready to leave for church. Really looking forward to hearing the word today. We are all truly blessed to have our Lord in our lives.?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`

Good Morning Folks Just thought i would make a quick post to say I got home okay last night after doing a course and then some other business while I was down south. Pat and I had a great visit and the time just seemed to go by while talking anout different things and viewing pictures Pat has on the computer.
Pat take care of that cold. I was supicious you were coming down with one when I was there the other night. If you can't find the zicam in the drug stores here let me know and I will try to find a drug store I can get into with the truck in the US and get some. I have to find somthing for Judy as well.
Heather good luck with your carreer plans. hope things work for you. I'll throw you a challenge. By the time mom and i were your age we had bought our first home. Get digging. some help from a spouse helps to.
Well have to go and get ready for church and then I'm off to Virginia again this afternoon. Be in touch when I get back
God Bless. Bonesy.
Pat that is a hymn that I don't know. Did we used to sing it at church? It isn't one of the common ones. Nice though.
EtteSue I am glad you had a good sleep last night. Hope today is a good one as well.
Pat zinc works well as Lee said. There are zinc lozenges you can get too. Taste terrible but they work with throat soreness. :P
Thanks Lee I had forgotten about zinc, a good reminder..
I had a rough night last night, My hip was aching and I couldn't get comfortable. All the usual ways were ineffective. Two Tyleonal finally worked.
WE are having out College and Careers Sunday this week. I am looking forward to this, these are the young people who are going to be the leaders of the future. They are getting in the race, and in training to take the baton. They will do well, as long as they get the training they need. :)
Cute story from yesterday. As most of you know we have 2 rottweillers. Jake is not long tobe with us and Bruno is the young upstart. These guys are buddies. I rarely let them out alone together as I know Jake does like to go into the bush. I don't want him to do this and wind up in trouble. Anyway yesterday, they went out together and as they started down the road I let them go, and watched. When it was evident that they were heading beyond hearing, I called. Jake turned and started back. Bruno stayed with Jake till he was almost at the deck. then Bruno came to the deck and waited with me. Jake was taking too long so Bruno ran out to see where he was. He went back and forth till Jake was coming up to the deck then and only then would Bruno come in the house. He has become so protective of my buddy.
Well have to go,
Have a Godly day

Hi everyone and a special welcome to Kim and Stephen. We are always happy to welcome new folks to the CP site.
We have a pretty and sunny Sunday morning. We will be headed to Sunday School and Church in a little while. We have two special musical guests at the church this morning and this evening who will take part in the services. Kyle Matthews will give a concert at 7 pm, but we will also have Integrity Recording Artist Dave Lubben participating in our morning services and giving a special concert during the Sunday School hour. I don't know who either of these gentlemen are but expect some of our younger folks will know of them. Our youth minister is only part-time and he has a Christian recording artists agency as his other work. I think this is why we have special concerts several times a year.
Pat, sorry to hear you have taken a bad cold.
A friend from church sent me the following and I thought I would share it this morning:
QuoteThe next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember...
Noah was a drunk,
Abraham was too old,
Isaac was a daydreamer,
Jacob was a liar,
Leah was ugly,
Joseph was abused,
Moses had a stuttering problem,
Gideon was afraid,
Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer,
Rahab was a prostitute,
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young,
David had an affair and was a murderer,
Elijah was suicidal,
Isaiah preached naked,
Jonah ran from God,
Naomi was a widow,
Job went bankrupt,
John the Baptist ate bugs,
Peter denied Christ,
The Disciples fell asleep while praying,
Martha worried about everything,
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once,
Zaccheus was too small,
Paul was too religious,
Timothy had an ulcer...AND
Lazarus was dead! ...no more excuses now.
God can use you to your full potential.
Besides you aren't the message, you are just the messenger. Share this with
a friend or two... In the Circle of God's love, God's waiting to use your
full potential.
"God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change...the
courage to change the one I can ... and the wisdom to know it's me."
Hope everyone has a good day.
Good morning, and thank you all for the welcome!
I thought I would tell you a little about myself, if that's okay?
My husband, Dennis, has been a United Methodist pastor for the past 5 years. Before that, he was in retail. We have a son, Dustin, 22, a daughter Melissa, 19, a son, Mitch, 18 and ....our grandbaby, Dylan, 1 year old on Mar. 3!
I work for a company that works with schools to teach technology. Dennis and I also started a Christian website a little over a year ago, GoPraise.net. I have a few of my photos on that site.
Not much more I can think of to say right now, which is good, since I need to get ready for church! :D
A friend and I were having a discussion and he was telling me how a person had wronged him and then threatened him.
My friend told this man that something bad was coming his way. The man retorted with great anger, "From who?" My friend responded, "From God."
That led to the discussion of "getting even" or standing up for what is right when you being wronged.
I am reminded of this: If there was ever a time for someone to do something to overcome a wrong, it was during punishment and cruxifiction of Jesus.
The movie "Passion of the Christ" depicts the terrible and painfull way that he was whipped and punished. If ever there was a time for a bolt of lightning to strike the guard with the whip or the stone thrower.
While He carried the cross and was being spit upon and stoned, if there ever a time for Him to drop the cross and say to the crowd, "Now you've really made me mad."
While He hung on the cross and looked down and saw His mother crying, if ever there was a time for Him to jump down and run over and comfort His mother.
As he hung there and looked from side to side at the two thiefs. One teased and taunted him and said, "If you are REALLY the Christ, save yourself and us." If ever there was a time to jump down and prove to that man He really was who He said He was, surely this was the time.
The other man knew he was getting only what he rightly deserved, but "This Man did nothing to deserve His punishment." If ever there was a time to say, "Yeah, you're right, this has to stop here and now."
The next time someone cuts you off or tells an untruth about you....before you react.
The next time someone says something to make you angry..before you lash out with your two-edged sword.
The next time you even think about evening the score...put it in perspective....
Do you really want to get even? If ever there was a time!
WELCOME, KIM!!!! We even accept Methodists here! (lol) (and Baptists, Presbyterians, etc., etc. - and me!) Mostly, we're just glad you're here, and we pray you'll enjoy this site - it's full of your brothers and sisters.
There's something strange going on here in McKinleyville, CA this morning. There's something bright and shining out there. Someone said it was sun, but we know that went away months ago, so I doubt that.

Oh Al you are so funny...guaranteed to cheer us all up...
The sun? It was here earlier, now it has disappeared and it's raining.

Bye for now Brethren.

Welcome Kim We are glad to meet you

I am feeling a little bit better today. I also want to ay something about Zicam, I am using the lozenges and they work great too.
I am going to try to stay up as along as I can today. Yesterday was the whole day and night in bed except to get up for a few minutes when Gilbert brought me something to eat. I couldn't stand up long enough to fix it for my self. I am still stumbling a little bit when I first get up but then it goes away. I am staying home from church today and taking it slow. I need to shower and wash my hair and if I feel up to it I will vacumm.
Janet to give you the rest of the story on the telemarketers. They usually hung up on me but I did get one young man to let me pray for him.

Hi Everyone...
(Sniffle, cough, shivver!)
Just to let you know...
Some of our members were on Photo-World and have been enjoying that photo site. Recently the site was put up for sale and after working on setting up a new site called Photo-Sense, Neil aka Tragicharpy on here, has bought the old site but right now we'd love to have as many photographers as possible to show your photos on the new site.
Here's a link for you...
Photo-Sense (http://www.photo-sense.co.uk/news.php)
It's free and you're all welcome!
If you set up a gallery there with photos that are the size for posting here on CP (500 pixels on longest side and no larger than 35K), you can deeplink from that site and post your photos on Christian Photographers!
Neat, eh?

OH, THIS IS SO TRUE, WE JUDGE OUR NEW PASTORS BY THE OLD ONES!
DO WE WANT THE OLD PASTOR'S FAULTS AND FAILINGS TOO? :)
March 7
Pastoral Ministry: Personal Identity
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in
word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
--1 Timothy 4:12
This problem of personal identity not infrequently troubles the
faithful minister. The congregation has called him as their pastor
and teacher, but the members have a hard time forgetting the saintly
predecessor who died or who was called to another ministry. They
find it hard to make room for the new minister--mainly because he is
not enough like the former one. His voice is different. So are his
gestures. His hair is not gray. His wife is not as friendly.
Be careful! God blesses people for their faith and obedience, not
because they are old or young, bald or gray, pleasant voiced or
raspy. God expects each one of us to let Him use us in helping
people to a walk of spiritual blessing and victory. Not necessarily
must we have had a long record as heroes in the faith to qualify.
Jesus, Author of our Faith, 70.
"Lord, I pray for any of my brothers who may be facing this
struggle today. Challenge the congregation to move on and love
their new pastor. Give grace to the pastor; help him to faithfully
demonstrate faith and obedience. Weld pastor and people together
in a deep love relationship. Amen."
Thank you Pat for the devotional this morning. It speaks of how the blood of animals can never pay for the remission for sins. After seeing The Passion of Christ and all the blood that was spilled, it gives me a greater love for Jesus my Lord.
Thank you Lee for your kind comments.
This morning I was truely blessed myself. Charles Price gave an evangelistic message and quite a few people came into the counselling room. I usually counsel women, but there was no man counsellor around, so I talked to a 25 year old young man. He came from a Christian family and said "He had waited until now to accept Christ" After talking to him for a while, he repeated the sinner's prayer with tears running down his face. Later I prayed for him and said something like "Father, I thank you that David is a child of God now and someday will be in heaven with all the saints of all the ages for all eternity." He had more tears. He will join the young adults group and I know will grow in the Lord. I was touched and blessed myself and felt the tears coming. Please pray for David. This is a new beginning for him.

Oh dear Poor Pat :'(, I am sorry you are not well dear.
Surely one of Zach's pills and potions will do the trick for you!
Myself I find unfortunately that a cold has to sweat itself out of me. I use Hall's Mentholyptus and paracetamol.,plus a few drops of Eucalyptus oil on a tissue, held over my nose at night in bed to help me breath., plus loads of tissues!
I popped in earlier but it was so quiet in here and I popped out again.
Ria are you home from Jan's yet?
Marilyn Have a good rest and get better soon. We can't have you going down on us...not allowed!
Later on tonight the film "Saving Private Ryan" is on t.v. I have seen it but Chris hasn't so I will watch with him. He's just taken Sunday dog for a tiny walk on the green. She found some mandarin orange peel to investigate, so her scent is still working., I do thank God for that. It's not much fun for a doggie when the sight and hearing have gone. The vet said that scent is more important to a dog then the other senses.
Papa John and all others who come in later I say "Hello".
Ruthie. I do thank God for the work you are doing for His glory. Every Blessing.
Until Next week,
God Bless,
Love Jenny.
Hi Jenny, I saw that movie "Saving Private Ryan" It is a good movie. I would like to see it again. The last time I started to get a cold I took garlic pills every 3 hours and I nipped it in the bud! The garlic pills are called bear paw garlic from Aim Int. the Barley Green people. I think they are alpine wild garlic. Very good.

Just a quick hello to all. The most beautiful little boy in the world is asleep right now, so I thought I would check in.
Good day to all of you!
Teens- I'm going to post a new "Get out Your Bibles" challenge in about ten minutes, so check it out!

Hello folks.
We had a great day at church. We went to subway after with the Pastor and his wife and a few other friends/members of the church.
It was great getting to know the new Pastor a little better. They are real neat folks.
Hi Kim and Stephen! Glad you could join us here.
Kim~Happy belated Birthday to the little guy!
Great site, Pat!
I will help anyone who needs help with uploading pictures on that site. It is real easy once you figure it out.
Hope you feel better, Pat.
Hello Heather, I am glad to see you posting more in here. It is fun to get to know others from other parts of the world. How are the youngens?
I made some chocolate cookies today. I am going to go up and have a few.
Have a good afternoon. Be back later.
Soni
I've uploaded 4 pics to that site. I will have to copy some off my website that I want to put there. Soni I finally got the hang of the uploading.
I am still free from the dizziness so far today. All the prayers that went up for me sure did help. Willa told me they prayed for me last night and at church this morning. So Prayer works. I got up feling better. Yesterday was miserable.

This morning started off a little chilly but sunny and pretty. Then as the day has progressed the clouds have increased and now they cover the sky. Supposed to snow tonight and/or tomorrow morning.
It's so good to see our Christian Photographer site continuing to grow with new members. :D
Pat, thanks for the link to the new photo site. One good thing to note, in order to upload a picture there (so we can link to it from here) it's not necessary to have your own website. So folks, if you're having trouble finding or setting up a web page of your own, look into this new place. Some of us are already there so if you have any trouble - holler! ;D
I need to let y'all know .... This afternoon I called my granddaughter in Sacramento and found out her brother, TIM is home from Iraq!
So your prayers have been answered for one of my grandsons ... now we can concentrate on the other one :D Thank you.

Hello Heather, I am glad to see you posting more in here. It is fun to get to know others from other parts of the world. How are the youngens?
Hi Soni,
The kids are amazing. They are going through alot right now, but they are doing amazingly well. I am hoping to have more news really soon whether we will be getting them back or not. We see them every Monday, before I go to work. Johnny, (our 7yr old) asked for chocolate chip cookies last week when we saw them, and I was busy yesterday fulfilling that request. I can't wait until they see that I remembered. I don't use real chocolate chips for my cookies. I use carob chips instead. They taste just like chocolate, without the "hyper" effects. Johnny has always become really hyper when he eats chocolate, so this has been a nice alternative for both of us. I don't use cocoa either, I rather use carob powder. Just a warning tho, if you use carob powder in baking you will want to cut down on the amount of sugar you use, because carob is naturally sweet, unlike cocoa.
I am going to be posting a topic in the photography section in the next couple of days where you will be able to see pictures of the kids. Since I lost my old web space, the pictures I posted last summer are no longer here, so I will repost them. Then as I get up to date pictures, I will post them as well.
Enough for now, I don't want to take up too much space.
Love to all
Heather
We enjoyed a wonderful Bible class this morning and then a very inspiring time of worship. This afternoon Cornelia and I had a nice walk in the neighborhood and I got my mile in. My doctor wants me to walk every day I can.
I have read all the posts and would like to comment on each one but I think I am a little lazy. Welcome to the new comers. It is always good to see some new ones here.
Well, tomorrow is the day Cornelia and I will go see "The Passion of Christ". We went by the theater yesterday and bought our tickets. As I mentioned we have a special class discussion on this on Wednesday night. Then Saturday we drive down to Bradenton, Florida. I will take my laptop so I can keep up with the internet the time we are down there.
I'm sure we would not agree with all the arguments of Zophar, Job's "friend" in the 11th chapter of Job. But he did express some truth when he said, "Can you
fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens-- what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave-- what can you know? Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea. Job 11:7-9 (NIV)
God created the earth and he created man. Only recently have men discovered the elements which make the internet possible -- this great phenomenon, the internet. Yet, even back in Job's day all the ingredients were on earth but men had not yet discovered and developed the technology we have today. I expect that we have only begun to discover some of the mysteries of God. In any case, when I sit here and think that people all over the world will be able to read what I write I am even more amazed at the mysteries of God and his creation.

Yes I am amazed at the mysteries of God too Papa John. Thank you for the scripture and explanations. I went on Friday night with the pianist of the church to see The Passion movie. It is hard to see but I think it is necessary. At my church we have brochures to help us explain some probable questions about the movie to unbelievers. It will have an impact on you for sure.
Hi Heather...looking forward to seeing pictures of your little ones. They are wonderful aren't they! God bless.

Marilyn..........
Looks like you have company. I've been extremely dizzy today and can't seem to walk without feeling I'm going to fall. All the symptoms are classic.
Pat I think I cought your cold. I have been sniffling and sneezing all day.
John left this afternoon and when I called last he was in Grimsby, fuelling up before crossing the border. Pat you couldn't hop in, this trip, as he has a trainee with him!
I held the most precious baby in church. Zoe was born just after New Years and she is such a quiet little one. Now if you hear me talk about babies I say they all are the most precious I have seen! I think all us grandma's are like that.
The youth did a wonderful job leading Praise and Worship today. The young lady who was in charge has a wonderful voice and a winsome way when leading. I was impressed with their dress. They all were dressed modestly, such a difference from the young men and women you see, walking down the street, with bare midriffs.
Welcome to our newcomers, We are glad to have you here!
Well I am off to bed early. I have a big day ahead tomorrow.

The last hymn we sang in church today was I Surrender All. After the last prayer, a lady asked me this question.
"When we surrender all to Christ, do we also surrender our depression and lack of focus too?"
My answer was "Yes!"
Any comments?
I haven't read the posts yet but between cups of hot lemon tea and honey, I thought I'd post this as JudyB paged me and asked me to...

Truly know that Thou art mine.
Refrain
All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
Refrain
All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!

We had a blast tonight. We had 8 different churches come to our church and sing praises and play music. Our youth group did a play with puppets and the young Sonshiners sang 3 songs and Chandraya did a solo. It was great. The adult choir sang 3 songs.
We had finger foods and deserts after the singing. We got to visit with so many folks. It was fun. The kids also enjoyed it.
We have been so busy this weekend that it is going to feel weird not starting the week with the normal activities.
Way to go, Marilyn! I knew you could figure it out. Now we need to get others to figure it out. It wasn't that hard, just a bit confusing.
That is great, Heather! I can't wait to see the pictures of the young ones. Such cute kids. I am still praying for you.
Pat, how are you feeling? You need to rest! Now you better be in bed or getting there soon, ya hear? ;) ;D
I better get myself to bed too. Night all.
Soni
Night Sonja!
Sounds like you had a great time at church.
Well, it's time to lock the door on this topic and open the new one for tomorrow.
