Morning Devotional...Above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness .
Colossians 3:14
What is the well dressed Christian wearing these days?
Is it the seven piece suit of Colossians 3:12-13? We are to put on: tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, forebearance, and forgiveness.
The outfit is not complete, however, without love, that which brings all the other virtues into harmony. "Above all these things put on love."
That's what ties us all together.
Not sure what to wear today?
These always match and look (and indeed are) good on everyone.

Arr. By Lowell Mason, 1792-1872
And the multitude of them that believed
were of one heart and of one soul:
neither said any of them that ought of the things
which he possessed was his own;
but they had all things common.
Acts 4:32
Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like that to that above.
Before our Father's throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.
We share each other's woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.
When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.
This glorious hope revives
Our courage by the way;
While each in expectation lives,
And longs to see the day.
From sorrow, toil and pain,
And sin, we shall be free,
And perfect love and friendship reign
Through all eternity.

Pat, I was expecting it to be the armor! ;) Yes, these look and are good on everyone. May we all be appropriately dressed as Christ followers.
Marilyn, I'm so happy you get to take your grandkids to church in the morning (as you can see it's still Saturday night as I'm typing this.) I know this is something you have desired for a very long time.
I waited until after the mail came before I left to go crop; I was hoping for mothers day cards........didn't happen. :-\ But I love 'em anyway.
I WISH ALL OF YOU A HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! (You don't have to be a mother to be loved!) :)
Night night! :sleepy:
:coffee: Good morning everyone! Happy Mother's day!!!! <3
Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers here on CP. Sometime this afternoon our son is planning on coming over to spend some time with his mother.
Marilyn, so glad to read that you will be able to take your grandchildren to church with you this morning. Little steps forward and planting seeds and let God do the rest. Hope you had a great time with them yesterday.
This is youth Sunday at our church and the youth do the entire service. Today there is just one combined service at 10:30 with Sunday School at 9:30. We are planning on going but doubt that we will eat out after church although I will suggest to Pat that I take her out so she doesn't have to cook on Mother's Day.
Janet, sometime you may want to get a little memory card reader that will read a whole variety of different memory cards. I have one here on my desk that will read 9 different cards and the Windows Explorer comes up and asks what I want to do with the files. I can even see thumbnails of the files before I highlight them and drag them into whatever folder I want in My Pictures. It is easy to use and would probably have read and saved your older pictures unless when your camera went bad it damaged the existing files. I realize it is too late now to salvage the files since you have reformatted the card.
Ruth Ann, it sounds like your children have really remembered you for your special day. That is very nice.
JudyB, falls for older folks can be so harmful. Glad they are replacing the carpeting. I am sure they don't want your MIL to fall and break a bone in their apartment.
Tbear, always good to see you posting along with everyone else. I don't always mention everyone but I assure you all that I read and appreciate your postings.
Hope everyone has a nice day.
Good morning Pat, Janet, Ritz, and Larry.
Another Lord's day and we are looking forward to getting out to church this morning.
We lost our Mother many years ago but I still remember how sweet she was.
I hope all of you who are mothers will have a nice day today.
John 19:25-27
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!"
27 Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.

Pat when I first read the devotion I too thought it would be the armour. Good to see you here this morning Papa John, Larry, Ritz, and Janet. The grand kids are still asleep in their sleeping bags on the floor in my bedroom. Bebe and I shared the bed as usual. There is no way that dog will sleep on the floor. ya gotta <3 her though.
They spent yesterday making things for their mom for mother's day. I have a big box of cards that they cut up and made a huge card on poster board for her.
I am really looking forward to having the kids at church this morning, I may even go to class with them so they will be more comfortable.

Marilyn - I pray they will hear something, get some little word, some little thought, that will start them on their way to knowing Jesus Christ. I know that's what you want.
I thought earlier that that was a very fuzzy looking bear! Also, thank you for that spectacular thing in PP that you sent me in email!

Question: Do you delete your photos with the smart card in the camera or in the computer with a smart card reader? I don't know why but my camera club says you should delete them with the smart card in the camera. But I think it is less work on the camera to do the deleting with the smart card in a reader and delete on the pc. Just me.
Janet ~ You are confused with your new camera and I am still complexed with this DSL. For some reason I had email in the outbox that wouldn't go. Finally I copied and pasted it into a new email and sent it and deleted the one in the Outbox. Even when I went to HELP, it us said Outbox...not even saying what it is for or does!
Church was awesome. Today's sermons were on Jesus' Prayer in John 17. His prayer for his disciples...that includes us, you know!
I also received word that a lady was going to learn how to print the labels for the cassettes and affix them to the cassettes. So I slept a half hour later and got to church almost an hour later than usual. This lady lives a couple of blocks from church and can do this task any day of the week! That will save me lots of time!!
And I had an Elder helping me duplicate the cassettes. So all I did today was teach, oversee and dupe the CD's!
Oh, yes! I almost forgot. For my award for Second Place in the Indiana Historical Society's Photography Contest was a Jay Country Package....which includes
1) a one night stay at Super 8 Jacuzzi Suites with free breakfast,
2) Portland Golf Club Green Fees for two,
3) Lunch at White Linen Hall,
4) Sharlette's Fudgery Gift Certificate (buy ½ lb of fudge, get 2½ lb. FREE)
5) two tickets to see a Musical at Bearcreek Farms Goodtimes Theatre.
All toll, I think it is worth over $200! So I can see Ivalou and I taking a road trip. (P.S. I don't golf but Kaye Don does and his birthday is May 31!!)

WOW, Etta Sue! That's a very nice prize! Congratulations, and enjoy! :)
Larry, I do have a little card reader, but it won't "read" the photos that are still on that card, either. My last hope is taking it to Wal-Mart or somewhere and seeing if they can get the photos off. What I did not do, and should have done, was to reformat the card before taking any photos with the new camera. Now, I'm afraid that card is ruined. Well, better that one than a larger one, I guess.
Our pastor's message today was about the mothers and grandmother of Moses, Samuel and Timothy, and how important is is to give our children a Godly heritage.
Marilyn, did the kids enjoy going to church?
Beth wanted to take us to lunch after church, and since it is Mother's day, of course all the restaurants were crowded and service was very slow. We ate at El Ranchito, and when we finally got our food, I ate too much and too fast, and boy, am I paying for it now! :P I won't be needing any supper, that's for sure. Beth also gave me a balloon and a gift, which she had Diane fix up for her. Sweet.
Curtis called, too, to wish me a happy Mother's Day. Love those Grands! <3
I am feeling a strong need for a little rest and maybe a nap. We will be leaving very early in the morning to take Beth to the hospital, and I don't know how long we will be away or what will happen. So if possible I would like to be rested when we leave.
See you later! :cool:
I went to the children's Bible study class with Forest and Savannah, They learned the 10 commandments and what each of them meant. They told Sarah and Gilbert what they learned and were complimented on how good they learned them.
Then in Children's Church they just had a very short lesson and then made and framed their hand prints with a poem on each one. I have to frame mine because there were only enough frames for the mothers.
I picked up their old lawn mower and the man across the street is going to see if it is fixable. I do know it needs a new rope and some tune up stuff it sat for 2 years outside. It sure needs some paint.
So my Mother's day was very blessed.

Could anyone tell me how to change my browzer back to Internet Explorer? I am using Firefox but I think I would like to change. I know it is simple to make Internet Explorer my default browzer but I have brain putty right now.
Also,HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
Did you uninstall Firefox.? If you still have IE in your computerthat will do i. Microsoft has a new IE7 that is beta and I really like you can download it is free on Microsoft. It too has tabbed browsing.

I just got back from Beth's. She called me to come get her legs up on the bed, and when I got there, she needed the bathroom, which was a struggle for both of us, and to no avail....... :( She was trying so hard, feet and legs just will NOT work, and I don't really know what to do to help, so we both ended up in tears. :'( Then the struggle to get her back up, into the power chair and into bed. Yes, Liz, I certainly DO know. And I am praying for you and Wendy, and for Larry and Pat and their daughter.
We are set to leave home about 6:30 AM so it's time to try to get some shut-eye.
May God protect you and me while we are absent one from the other.
Good Evening/Day to all,
We had a nice day driving into the mountains - it is only about 45 minutes from our house to see small groups of elk wandering in the area & we took a short hike around a little lake, took a lot of pictures and so forth. Read books outdoors and meandered home. All the children called - we are going to see most of them tomorrow & Tuesday now.
Judy B: I see - you don't have to say you are sorry for getting the times wrong. I was teasing about the sermon possibly being too long. I envy you the wonderful fellowship you have with your morning coffee group & then being together with everyone & joining in on your Sunday celebrations.
Janet: Help for Beth and you just can't get there fast enough. As for the children not calling or thinking of you on this day - I say that the speciality days are so hyped with Hallmark cards and so forth - it is the real everyday things that matter.
This is getting late for everyone. I thought you would be closed by now.
Carol
Time to lock the door.
