JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

We will remember.
Song of Solomon 1:4

"This do in remembrance of Me". It was the Saviour's parting request on the night of His betrayal.

Those who love Him respond and say, "We will remember".

What memories fill our hearts at the supper! Memories of a lowly birth and a lovely life. Memories of sinless perfection and silent suffering. Memories of a thorn-crown and a scourge. Memories of the cross and the nails, of the loneliness, the darkness, the spear and the tomb.

From adoring hearts we say, "We will remember."
—Jim Flanigan

To Thee, His God, we bring—remembering,
this our thank-offering—remembering.
Remembering Him as He never again shall be.
His journey to the tree—remembering.

Preaching: The Authority of God

..I am sending you to them, and you shall say to them, "Thus says the Lord God." As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse--for they are a rebellious house--yet they will know that a prophet has been among them.
-Ezekiel 2:4-5

I don't want to be unkind, but I am sure there ought to be a lot more authority in the pulpit than there is now. A preacher should reign from his pulpit as a king from his throne. He should not reign by law nor by regulations and not by board meetings or man's authority. He
ought to reign by moral ascendance.

When a man of God stands to speak, he ought to have the authority of God on him so that he makes the people responsible to listen to him. When they will not listen to him, they are accountable to God for turning away from the divine Word. In place of that needed authority,
we have tabby cats with their claws carefully trimmed in the seminary, so they can paw over the congregations and never scratch them at all. They have had their claws trimmed and are just as soft
and sweet as can be....

I believe in the authority of God, and I believe if a man doesn't have it, he should go away and pray and wait until he gets the authority and then stand up to speak even if he has to begin on a
soapbox on a street corner. Go to a rescue mission and preach with authority! They had it in those days--when they stood up, there was authority!
The Counselor, 150-151.

"Lord, may I always preach boldly like the Apostle Paul, like Ezekiel, like Jeremiah and the prophets. If I have the Word of God; if I have the Holy Spirit; if I have a humble spirit of dependence on You--there's no reason I should preach like a de-clawed tabby cat!  Amen."

Good Morning Everyone.  We had a very nice rain during the night and expect a few more showers this morning.  Then we are suppose to have a nice afternoon.  We really needed the rain so was happy to hear it raining.

Today is Pentecost Sunday.  I put on my brightest red tie this morning to wear to church and this is the only Sunday each year that the choir wears the red stoles.

I don't think Pat is going to feel up to going to church this morning so I will just be going for the Worship Service.  We are hopeful that our choir director will be well enough to be back with us.  She had to cancel practice Wednesday evening due to illness and having to go to the ER.

Not much else planned for today.

THE HABIT OF RISING TO THE OCCASION

That ye may know what is the hope of His calling ...

     Ephesians 1:18

Remember what you are saved for - that the Son of God might be
manifested in your mortal flesh. Bend the whole energy of your powers
to realize your election as a child of God; rise to the occasion
every time.

You cannot do anything for your salvation, but you must do something
to manifest it, you must work out what God has worked in. Are you
working it out with your tongue, and your brain and your nerves? If
you are still the same miserable crosspatch, set on your own way,
then it is a lie to say that God has saved and sanctified you.

God is the Master Engineer, He allows the difficulties to come in
order to see if you can vault over them properly - "By my God have I
leaped over a wall." God will never shield you from any of the
requirements of a son or daughter of His. Peter says - "Think it not
strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you." Rise to the
occasion; do the thing. It does not matter how it hurts as long as it
gives God the chance to manifest Him self in your mortal flesh.

May God not find the whine in us any more, but may He find us full of
spiritual pluck and athleticism, ready to face anything He brings. We
have to exercise ourselves in order that the Son of God may be
manifested in our mortal flesh. God never has museums. The only aim
of the life is that the Son of God may be manifested, and all
dictation to God vanishes. Our Lord never dictated to His Father, and
we are not here to dictate to God; we are here to submit to His will
so that He may work through us what He wants. When we realize this,
He will make us broken bread and poured out wine to feed and nourish
others.

Yes, today is Pentecost Sunday!  Our pastor preached a great message on that subject.  It is another beautiful day here in the heartland of America.

I posted pictures HERE if you want to see some pretty quilts.  I have more to post of other subjects a little later.

Hi, friends,

Y'all probably finished celebrating Mothers Day earlier, but I got to celebrate again. My daughter took me to lunch, then presented me with a sweet gift - she knows how cold natured I am, so she purchased a flannel sheet set complete with pillowcases. Now, y'all go ahead and have your hearty laugh - I'll be warm instead of shivering through chilly nights this summer, since my son's as hot natured as I am easy to get cold.  :P Gotta find some way to compromise!

Ruth Ann, I cannot sleep either, if I am the least bit cold, so I understand!  Bless your sweet daughter for that thoughtful gift!

I am chatting with my young friend Joe, in Thailand!  He says his Mom says he should save his money and come to Kansas and spend time with us; so his English will improve.  Wouldn't that be great?

Oh..........I have posted photos of Abby's dance recital and of Little Drummer Boy, if you would like to take a look at those.  Thanks.

Hi Alma...  Nice to see you here today.  Glad you had a nice time away.

Larry, hope that Pat is feeling better soon.  I think it's time that we had a chat on the telephone.

Ruth Ann, got the message.  I was in the shower when you phoned and I'm sorry I missed your call.

I'll be back in a few minutes.  Have someone at the door!

I just called Diane's house, and Curtis answered!  I didn't know he was home, said he got there around five this afternoon.  While we were talking, the rest of the family came in, just home from Amarillo.

I have had a blessed day, hope all of you have as well.  Good night!
