Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free.
Exodus 21:5

So spoke the Hebrew servant on the day of his release.

Absolutely nothing hindered him from going out free.  But because of his love for master, wife, and children, he chose to stay, and suffer, and serve forever.

What a picture of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At the end of His ministry, having lived a spotless, sinless life to the glory of God, He could have gone out free, no claim upon Him.

But His love for His God, and His Bride, compelled Him to voluntarily go to Calvary, there to suffer and to receive the marks that identify Him as the One who loved us and gove Himself for us.
--W. H. Burnett

Like shoreless seas, Thy love can know no bound:
Thou lovest me;
Deap vast immense, unfathomed, Lord, profound,
Lord, I love Thee!

Behold, What Love!
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Robert Boswell, 19th Century
Musician:  James McGranahan, 1840-1907

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.   Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.   And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
1 John 3:1-3
[/list]

Behold, what love, what boundless love,
The Father hath bestowed
On sinners lost, that we should be
Now called "the sons of God!"

Refrain
Behold, what manner of love!
What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
That we, that we should be called,
Should be called the sons of God!

No longer far from Him but now
By "precious blood" made nigh,
Accepted in the "Well beloved,"
Near to God's heart we lie.

Refrain

What we in glory soon shall be,
It doth not yet appear;
But when our precious Lord we see,
We shall His image bear.

Refrain

With such a blessèd hope in view,
We would more holy be,
More like our risen, glorious Lord,
Whose face we soon shall see.

Refrain

Well once, just once, I think I'll be the first on here from the West Coast!  It's only 5:05 here, and we're getting ready to head out to go up to Oregon today.  If you think of it, pray both for us and for the people up there - that our Lord would move them, and grow them, and make them more like Him.

Etta Sue

Pat ~ I will certainly pray for the little girl from Hamilton.  To think how her father must feel.  He needs God's loving arms around him along with the rest of the family.

Marilyn ~ Don't steal the tubes.  Use them all you want!!!  I didn't create them so they are already stolen, I guess.

Jerry and I are ready for church.  He is reading his morning devotions.  I read them earlier.  Today is my day to work the lights...the next time it will be in the Santuary where there are a lot more lights to work.  Then Jerry and I are having lunch at church and then we will attend a study.  Dennis and Julie are suppose to come and work some more on the landscaping.  It is coming along smilingly!!!

It is dark and gloomy....looks like rain any minute!!!

God Bless All on God's Day.

Hi everyone.  Just read all the postings from yesterday and those here today.  Pat, sure hope the little girl will be OK.  These accidents happen so quickly and unexpectedly.

Rachelle, sure glad you didn't have an auto accident and also that your toe wasn't broken.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you and Jerry have a very busy day ahead.  Your yard project sounds neat.

Good morning Nard, hope your little one finally got the needed sleep.

Al, know that the folks will grow from hearing the proclamation of God's word in your preaching today.  Hope you all will have had a lovely trip up to Oregon as well.

Shawnee, good to see you posting and was sorry you had to reschedule your MRI.

Janet, surprised to read that Abby likes Broccoli as know that children often don't like that vegetable.  I like it raw but really don't care much for it cooked unless it has lots of cheese on it.
Glad Darrell and Mark made it hope before the storm.

Marilyn, know you are saddened to see your son and family in the moving process.  Hope you get good neighbors.

Chris, do hope you will be feeling better today.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  Pat and I will be heading out to Sunday School shortly and then church.  We are welcoming new members today.  This evening the youth are having a dessert auction to raise money for their mission trip to Puerto Rico in a few weeks.  We are not attending but will make a donation.

Carol

Good Sunday to all!

We attended the service last night and learned some new music - I don't know, it takes me time to adjust to new songs at church  :)  Our teens, along with a few adults do a mission work in Nicaragua every other year and one in Mexico yearly.  We belong to a real outreach church and last night Pastor told everyone to to get up and get out there and work for the Lord - it was great.  He was just trying to pry loose some who have the capabilities but are not so involved.  This is not the largest congregation in town but it certainly is the one with the largest number of volunteers involved in so much good work.

Pat S:  Sorry to hear of the little girl's lawnmower accident and pray for healing.

Larry:  Enjoy your Sunday!

Carol

Marilyn

Good Morning< Here I am ready for church. i came in earlier and couldn't post, the browser froze up when i was ready to post.

Well the kids have just about got everything  over tothe new place. Just a few things left like potted plants and the stuff in the yard. However they have until the end of this month to get it all done and cleaned.

Shawnee How nice it is to see your family and meet you face to face so to speak. Please keep on coming in and besure to let us know about your MRI. As I stated yesterday. My DIL has MS and she leads a normal life.

WEll I have to go clean up after the dogs in the back yard before I go to church. Gilbert said he was going to try to get it weed whacked  today if he has the time. He does these things while I am at church.

Sorry to hear that, Ruth Ann. :-(  I will keep you in my prayers.

Pat, that is very sad to hear.  She is in my prayers as well.

Chandraya and I bought some flowers yesterday and we are going to do some planting today.  She is a little gardener.

Hope you all have a fun day.

Good Sunday Morning to everyone who graces this place with their presence (seen or unseen  ::))

I have been away for a few days.  I was invited to accompany some other ladies to Portland for Thursday and Friday and they got me back home about 4 o'clock Saturday.

I managed to read all the forums and messages that I had missed while gone, so now I have caught up with y'all!  :P   I see there have been several new members sign on but, rather than post a greeting to each one, I will just say a general (but heart felt)
WELCOME!
to each and every one of you--that includes all of my other friends who have been here all along!  I guess we didn't get an official fancy welcome cuz we have been here from the beginning?   ;)

Our little church has been closed (May 2) and I still have not felt led to any other, so I will again be staying home to worship, pray and enjoy God's presence RIGHT HERE!  I brought home some new(er) worship cds, so I will add them to my collection and have a greater group to rotate.  I love listening to good worship music!   :D

It is nine o'clock here in the Pacific northwest so I guess I better look alive and get something accomplished sometime today!

I'll be back ....  Jane
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Janet

Hello!  I decided to visit the Assembly of God church here today.  I was a member there years ago.  They have recently gotten a new pastor, and he really preaches the Word.  I love to go where the Word is proclaimed and I am challenged to be a doer and not a hearer only.  I think Darrel and I will be going back there.  I feel we should find a church home here in our town rather than driving to Hugoton each Sunday.  We will pray and do as God leads.

Yes, Larry, Abby LOVES broccoli!  A bit unusual, isn't it?  One of her very favorite things is wilted lettuce salad---she can really chow down on that!  She wanted to do some painting, so we did that, plus visiting great grandma and Aunt Jeanie, and having a picnic at her favorite park and letting her play for a while there.  Busy day!

Pat, I will also pray for the little girl.  Like Etta Sue, I was concerned for her dad, too, as it must be so awful for him!

I guess I need to go look for something for lunch now.  Talk to you later.

MAY NEWSLETTER?

I've decided to send out a monthly information letter if possible and sent the first one today.  I've had some bad email addresses but not many.

I've also heard from one member who was so happy to get it as they had lost their login name and could never come back to the site and now they can.  So that was worth it.

Thanks so much for praying for this wee unknown named little girl.  I've heard no more news but if she was airlifted to Hamilton, she's passed two large hospitals on the way and so that is a sign of very serious injuries.  Yes, the poor father.  I will listen to the news later and see if there is anything on this.  Elora is so close to Guelph.

Janet, what did you find for lunch?  Did you enjoy it?

Jane, I'm so sorry about your little church.  That's so sad when that happens.

I can see the next photos we see from our Soni... Chandraya planting flowers in the garden!  Won't they be so cute? ;)

Ruth Ann, I'm so sorry about your dizziness.  I've had that so badly that I clung (is that a word?) to the bed so hard thinking I was going to fall out.  Please get well soon.

Hi Marilyn and Carol...   (By the way, Carol, your email address was one that was returned as being undeliverable.  Could you check your address for me?  Thanks!)

A "Dessert Auction"....yummy, doesn't that sound just awesome?  Larry, what did you bid on?

Let's remember Al Moak in prayer as he's ministering up in  Oregon today.

Love your little graphics, Etta Sue!

Hi Everyone..
How is everyone today-Im doing pretty good-Lindsey is feeling better so I am glad about that.
Today, I have to go and get some groceries for the week. and, then I have some computer stuff I have to take care of, grading and laundry.
Not much else going on around here-My husband is working day shift this week-so, it will be nice to have him home in the evenings.
May the Lord Bless all of you.

Pat, we are not attending the Dessert Auction this evening as Pat isn't feeling well.  In fact, she didn't feel up to going to church with me this morning.  Just the fibromyalgia cycling again.  She has been through this many times.  I did leave a small check with the leaders of the auction so we can help out with the youth trip.  They have many items to auction so it will be a long evening.

karstmom27

Afternoon all. Pat I will pray for that little girl as well.
Rachelle: Glad to hear Lindsey is better.
My day is pretty much going to be laid back today. We may go out in a bit but we are just enjoying our family today.
We have yet to find a church here in Kansas which is hard because I was raised in the A/G church but Jason is very conservative so that doesn't work for our marriage. LOL. Some churches in the area aren't very kid friendly and having five children I really need a church that is.
We really need a church that has an evening service and growing up we had one that had a Wednesday night, Sunday morning, and Sunday night service but I'm finding in the midwest that is very rare.
So just pray the Lord would lead us where he would have us to go. For now we have been teaching the kids at home about Jesus and his word and giving them verses to learn.
Anyway, Kiefer woke up this moring extra early 6 am. He was ready to play and came in our room and woke both Jason and I up. It was socute. He has one of the biggest smiles with those dimples. LOL.
He made me smile and every day reminds me of God's grace and love.
Well I better get off here and get some house work done. I have to get some groceries today too.
Have a blessed Sunday.
Oh and Pat you did a beautiful job on the newsletter. I loved it!

Hugs,
Shawnee

The Lighthouse
(Click to hear music)

Then Jesus spoke to them again,
saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows
Me shall not walk in darkness,
but have the light of life."

John 8:12

Words and Music: ©Ronnie Hinson

There's a Lighthouse on the hillside,
that overlooks life's sea.
When I'm tossed it sends out a light,
light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness,
now will safely lead me home,
And if it wasn't for the lighthouse,
my ship would sail no more.

And I thank God for The Lighthouse,
I owe my life to Him.
Jesus is The Lighthouse
and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me,
so that I might clearly see.
And if it wasn't for The Lighthouse,
where would this ship be?

Everyone that lives around us,
says tear that old lighthouse down,
The big ships don't sail this way anymore,
ain't no use in it standing round.
But then my mind goes back to that stormy night,
when just in time I saw the light
With the light from that old lighthouse,
that stands there on the hill.

And I thank God for The Lighthouse,
I owe my life to Him.
Jesus is The Lighthouse
and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me,
so that I might clearly see.
And if it wasn't for The Lighthouse,
Where would this ship be?

Thank you Pat for that great devotional.   Yes we all need to realize what Jesus did for us 2000 years ago.

I want to have a flowering tree planted.   Right now there are different shades of flowering crab apple trees in bloom.   They are so beautiful.   I have to decide whether I want white, light pink, darker pink or even a dark maroon colour.   So hard to decide.   I think the flowering almond trees are beautiful too, but they do not grow very big.

Pastor Charles Price is starting lessons from 1 Samuel.   He is so interesting and today was talking about how the priests back in Samuel's day just were involved with rituals and became corrupt.  He explained how the rituals should point to the person of Christ and if it just becomes a ritual and nothing more.  If you get The Peoples Church on TV on a Sunday morning or afternoon, you will hear this sermon.

By the way the grand total for our missionary conference was $1,743.000!    This money will go to support over 500 missionaries around the world.   Praise God.

I will check in later today.

Love Ruthie

Hi Ruth!

This morning our last hymn was the one above.  I had never heard this chorus before and found it very memorable.  So decided I should find it and share it with you all.  There is a brief introduction and then the praise verses begin.

Ruthie, just plant a tree of each color and then you won't have to make a decision about the color1 :D

Pat I am going for Three in white. Jesus, Elijah and Moses.

Gilbert was doing the back yard as I left for church, For those who are Pentecostal the gifts of the spirit were moving in full form this morning.  That is the first time in the 6 years I have been saved that I have seen it like I did today. Hallelujah.

Pat, I, too, enjoyed your newsletter, and you did a great job on it.

For lunch, I went to the Sonic and ate a hamburger.  Now I am really regretting it, because my stomach is really sore and I am running to the bathroom!  I had never gotten anything bad there before, and it may not have been the cause of this.  Darrel was eating lima beans, which I heartily dislike!  Maybe I should have eaten those, anyway. :-X :(

Marilyn, that sounds like an awesome service!  Wish I had been there!

Oops, gotta run...........again!

Marilyn, I think Moses and Elijah were with Jesus at His Transformation, but not His Assension into Heaven.  I have to go along with Ruthie - I think only Jesus was in white.

Finally a day or two without threats of severe thunderstorms.  The temperature has dropped from the upper 80's and low 90's to about 75 and the humidity is minimal.  Makes a big difference.  :D

This morning our pastor asked Gene to give a short testimony during the service.  Now asking Gene to give a short testimony is like asking a politician for a short answer to a simple question.  When he gets started explaining what God has done in his life he gets really wound up.  But he did good.  Pastor asked him to speak for one or two minutes - I threatened to bring a stop watch  ;D - and he did manage to do just about that.

Next Sunday we're giving the pastor a surprise celebration for the 30th anniversary of his ordination.  Nothing will be mentioned in the bulletin and after he opens the service with announcements and prayer requests he'll be asked to sit down and then the rest of the service will be conducted by members of the Worship Team.  There'll be a monetary gift and of course a luncheon - complete with chocolate cake for dessert.

Then the following week, which is also Memorial Day, we celebrate the Pentecost and everyone is asked to wear red.  We'll have several people reading the first few verses of Acts 2 in different languages, all at the same time.  Gene will read from his Spanish bible, I'll read my French, the pastor's wife will read in Finnish, and we have members from Russia, Germany and Latvia who may be able to attend and read as well.
