Morning Devotional...

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.
John 10:28

People buy insurance to be assured of recompence at a time of financial disaster, but what of spiritual disaster?

No man can pay the premium for the redemption of a soul (Ps. 49:7).

Our Lord speaking to the Father says "Those that Thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost" (Jn 17:12).

Do you enjoy the certainty of this eternal assurance?
—Duncan Maxwell

His forever, only His
Who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss,
Christ can fill the loving heart!
Heavens and earth may fade and flee,
firstborn light in gloom decline;
But while God and I shall be,
I am His and He is mine.

We BUY insurance to insure something the only assurance we really can have from this is that the insurance is assured of making money from you.
However God Gives us Eternal life.  No comparison:  we buy vs. we freely  recieve

Good Morning everyone.  The morning started out with sunshine but I see it is now a bit cloudy and we are to have rain later today.  Pat just told me she is planning on going to church this morning and then we are suppose to meet our son and DIL at a restruarant to celebrate her birthday.  That will be plenty for today.

Yesterday I attended the graduation celebration from highschool for our choir director's daughter.  There were only 3 of our choir members present and a couple of her friends and her family members.  We had a nice time and I think she enjoyed it.  I had a problem in finding the place as the route that I had from Google Maps took me over a route that had the road closed due to a bridge being out.

Not much else new down here.  I hope everyone has a nice day.

And because we can't buy it, it's just as true that it can't be taken from us.  In fact, we can't even make it lapse.  We don't have a hold upon Him, but He has a hold upon us!

UNDISTURBED RELATIONSHIP

At that day ye shall ask in My name ...

      John 16:26,27 (http://www.searchgodsword.org/desk/?query=joh+16:26,27&sr=1)

"At that day ye shall ask in My name," i.e., in My nature. Not - "You
shall use My name as a magic word," but - "You will be so intimate
with Me that you will be one with Me." "That day" is not a day
hereafter, but a day meant for here and now. "The Father Himself
loveth you" - the union is so complete and absolute. Our Lord does
not mean that life will be free from external perplexities, but that
just as He knew the Father's heart and mind, so by the baptism of the
Holy Ghost He can lift us into the heavenly places where He can
reveal the counsels of God to us.

"Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name. . . ." "That day" is
a day of undisturbed relationship between God and the saint. Just as
Jesus stood unsullied in the presence of His Father, so by the mighty
efficacy of the baptism of the Holy Ghost, we can be lifted into that
relationship - "that they may be one, even as We are One."

"He will give it you." Jesus says that God will recognize our
prayers. What a challenge! By the Resurrection and Ascension power of
Jesus, by the sent-down Holy Ghost, we can be lifted into such a
relationship with the Father that we are at one with the perfect
sovereign will of God by our free choice even as Jesus was. In that
wonderful position, placed there by Jesus Christ, we can pray to God
in His name, in His nature, which is gifted to us by the Holy Ghost,
and Jesus says - "What soever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He
will give it you." - The sovereign character of Jesus Christ is
tested by His own statements

Good Morning: I am ready for church and will be leaving here in about 30 minutes. I have already had the opportunity to intercede for someone on Yahoo IM. It is so awesome to be called upon to intercede. I love it.

This afternoon will be an afternoon of relaxation for me, I have nothing else planned for today ecxept for church and prayer meeting later in the day. i will take the dogs for a walk this afternoon tho' , the weather is beautiful right now and hopefully it will be for the rest of the day.

Got go now and read the classifieds on the internet, see if there are any new rentals available.

Pat, can I get a link to that other photosite of yours?  I lost all my favorites. :(  Thanks!

Is there an easier way to enter the challenges. I browsed there a few weeks ago and wanted to enter a challenge but couldn't find where to enter.  <soni is a little slow>

Hello Soni (with the new photo)!

http://photography-cafe.com

And when you want to enter a comp, you just upload your photos as you normally do to the point of where you place it in an album and this is where you choose the comp album.  It's Macro Photography right now.

Haven't been there much today...  Been lying down.

Here's a link to the next comp, Soni...  http://www.photography-cafe.com/forum/index.php?topic=615.0

Well, I think that today and yesterday and maybe tomorrow are going to be slow days so I don't expect many to be in here.  I know too that SeniorNet attendance is way down for the holiday weekend in the USA.

I hope that you're all well.

It's nice and sunny here but I'm feeling chilly.  Not sure why.

I just got in from church, then lunch with several people from our church and then 2 hours of working. So, that's behind me for the day, and I can rest now.

My respect goes to our veterans, past present (and future), who have done so much for our country. I'm always thankful to be rminded of the armed forces so I can pray for those in harm's way right now and for those who survived, albeit with lasting scars from their tour of duty.

Y'all have a good dya.

I was like that kitty in the night but not since I got up and going today.

Church was great.  I was told last week we were getting a new duplicating machine for audio tapes.  We did.  This one copies 4 where the other one copied 3.  Great!  We copy 24 tapes for each service.  After I got about 12 copied for the first service, I noticed one of the bays wasn't working.  Then I noticed another bay wasn't rewinding.  I had a lone last tape to copy so I put it on and went in the CLC for the Teen Service.  I went back out to the kiosk about a half hour later and the machine ate that tape.  So much for new equipment.  Hope they paid more than a nickel ninety-eight for it!!

After church I went to my nephews for a cook out.  Great food and awesome company.  Ivalou's four-month old great-grandson is the happiest baby I have seen for a long, long time.  Connal laughs out loud at everything.  Loves to play peek-a-boo!!!!

The race is over.  The girl lead a few laps but didn't win.  She came in fourth, I think.  Now the clouds are coming in.  I just got home and thought I had better water my plants but maybe God will water them.  If He doesn't in the next hour, I guess I will....

Not a lot new in my neck of the woods either, folks.  We attended a wedding yesterday...a real Scottish wedding, complete with bag pipes.  The groom's mother made each guest a little scottish shortbread to take home.
Now - that was 180 little cakes!  Wonder how long it took to do those?

It was a lovely Christian wedding.  The couple met in Scotland, when they were each on a mission trip with YWAM.
Is anyone familiar with Y.W.A.M.?

Its to bed early for me, as I didn't sleep at all last night.

- Judy

I'm somewhat familiar with Y.W.A.M. Judy.  They're a good organization.  They work in many parts of the world.  They have quite a training center on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Just stopped by to say hello to everyone.

We had a nice rain yesterday about 1 inch.  More is predicted for tomorrow.  We are slowly catching up with our average.

Etta Sue, yes I live in the area of Big Sandy, probably 40 miles away.

Thanks for the devotion today, Pat.

We have company this weekend, so will not tarry on the computer.  The Grandchildren want to use it.

Hi Everyone...

Sounds like you had a nice time at the wedding, Judy.  Was it at Calvary?

I've had a day of resting today.  I'm feeling so very tired.  I just can't get rested it seems.  Today was like a day in autumn here.  It was nice and sunny but there was a crispness in the air that made it feel like fall.

Hi Boots.   I can't tell you how nice it is to see you back on here so regularly.  I'm so happy we got that figured out.

I agree with you Ruth Ann that our troops in each of our countries must be prayed for and thanked for the job that they are doing for us to keep us free.  On Photography Cafe, one of the members sent me a Private Message saying that the military was sending him on a "trip" very quickly and that the area he was going to was quite a sensitive area so he was very limited in taking photos.  This young fellow is a medic and expects to be very, very busy.  That to me is so sad.

Hope you had a relaxing afternoon, Marilyn

Well, I'm going to see if Geordie and I can take a short walk up the street.  Yes, Marilyn, it's dark and late but very safe here.  I don't go far and I feel very safe with Geordie with me.

When We See Christ  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/when-we-see-christ.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you." I Titus 2:12-15

By Esther Kerr Rusthoi

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
We're tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;
But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,
All tears forever over in God's eternal day.

Refrain

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race 'til we see Christ.

Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
We're tossed and driven on, no human help in sight;
But there is One in heaven who knows our deepest care,
Let Jesus solve your problem--just go to Him in prayer.

Refrain

Life's day will soon be o'er, all storms forever past,
We'll cross the great divide to glory, safe at last.
We'll share the joys of heaven--a harp, a home, a crown.
The tempter will be banished, we'll lay our burden down.
