Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional...

He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

John 8:7, 11

I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in
darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 8:12

What wealth is found in the words of the Lord Jesus! He dealt with the evil treasure of their self-righteous hearts. "He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone." He showed the good treasure of His own heart. "Neither do I condemn thee, go, and sin no more."

Then He reached beyond this scene and promised to alleviate the darkness of our own hearts.

"He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
--Tom Steere

with boundless stores of grace.

Well, it's the Lord's Day again - the day to fellowship with the Lord's people and hear His Word.  That's got to be the best day of the week!  I always look forward to meeting again with some of the best people in the world!

Janet

Good morning!

We had a lovely time watching Abby's dance recital last night.  So many beautiful girls, so many proud famililes....just wonderful.  The auditorium was packed.

Mark wanted us to come down early, so I could help him with an English paper (expository writing) that he was struggling with.  His teacher had written notes all over it, and he still doesn't understand what she wants---nor do I!  But we worked on it, and today he will come up and we will have another go at it.  His final is this week, and that paper must be in before he takes the test.

Boy, this group sure keeps one humble.  :-\  I was (well, still am) so excited about getting my prints, yammered on about it, and not one comment.  It's as if I never wrote a word.  Is God trying to tell me something? ???

I'm sorry, folks, but not one of you can convince me that liver can be "delicious."  The texture of it almost gags me.  And I have tried it many ways.  The only way I could choke it down was fried very crisp, and NO onions, no water to sog it up again, either.  :P  Now, CHOCOLATE???  That's another story!  ::)

Etta Sue, I watched my mom attempting to teach my eldest sister to sew.  She screamed at her, yanked the item from her hands, slapped her around, etc.........screaming at her the whole day!......and I decided right then that she was not going to have a chance to treat me that way about sewing.  I wanted to sew, but waited until I was out on my own, then bought a very old machine, a pattern, and learned to sew by closely following the pattern instructions.  I used to make all of my 4 girls' dresses, and shirts for my boy, plus gowns, pajamas, etc. and once even made my husband a SUIT!!  I can't believe I had that much courage, but it turned out really nice.  That jacket alone had 14 pattern pieces to it!! :o

I must hit the shower and get dressed for church.  See you all later.

Happy Sunday to all,

There is a heavy and dark cloud bank forming over the mountains to the SW of us but it will probably stay south of our area.  It reminds me of the darkness that can be experienced in all of our lives - unknown and never timely.  But the SON shines on and gets us through the darkest of times.  Thankful for today.

Janet:  I did read about your prints and know that you were excited to get them framed - sorry, I did not comment.  I came from a family where there was never an "atta girl" - you were just expected to work & perform acurately & then no one ever mentioned what a good job.  My children do a much better job of praising.  A belated "ATTA GIRL" to you!

QuoteBoy, this group sure keeps one humble. ...........and not one comment.  It's as if I never wrote a word.  Is God trying to tell me something?

Boy Janet I know just what you mean and Jane has mentioned that before also. That happens to me all the time except for Larry to comments most of the time on everyone's posts. It makes me feel so small and insignificant like I haven't even posted anything. Just look at the amount of posts  under my profile picture.

On a different subject, my second son is 48 years old today , I can't believe how old my kids are getting.  This is one of them that I have not heard a word from in  many years, I mailed my grand daughter and told her to tell her dad that I said Happy Birthday.

Gotta go now, get ready for church.

Good morning! Well...afternoon now. Congrats on your prints Janet! I think , speaking for myself, we tend to overlook what doesn't directly affect us. "...Friends, this should not be..." I appologize for not offering a comment. I think the volume of things to comment on here may also be a little intimidating to some. (Me included.) I'll try to do better. Peace <3,Ritz.

Golly Gee, Folks!  I thought this site was simply about sharing our day/week.  Most of my posts go totally without comment for weeks on end....considering the mundane state of this persons life, that is not a problem.  Most attention ever received was when I made the mistake of trying to explain something to a little boy who once came to post....

Janet, I like your art work and know what is involved with prints, framing, etc.  You do nice work and it is worthy of praise.  I am not looking for more art, as that is rather like bringing coals to Newcastle...as the old saying goes.  Certainly recommend your work as worthy of purchase, to any and all in the market.  Honestly didn't think to comment, as rarely do so.  Certainly appreciate how you and Larry both take the time to remark on our posts and it does warm the heart  <3

Watched People's Church this morning and was greatly blessed by the message from Charles Price.  Think those who live in Toronto and attend are lucky folks.  Love the way he teaches the Bible and applies the message to the present world.

Time to go.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Marilyn and all others....I enjoy reading all the posts and pray for many who come here to chat.  Have done so for years.  Will continue to do so.
CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

Now, really, I wasn't angling for compliments or whatever.......but it is a good lesson that others are never as excited about what affects our life as we are.  And that isn't wrong; it is just a fact of life.  The only reason I brought it up was that several of you had said you wanted a print of "Cast the First Stone" when I got them.  'Nuff said.

Marilyn, I hope your son got your birthday wishes for him, and that he will respond by getting back in touch with you.  Separations in our families are one of the most painful things in life, at least to me they are.

We had a wonderful service this morning.  We waited on the moving of the Holy Spirit, had a very meaningful praise and worship time, a baby dedication, and then the preaching of the word.......subject today was GRACE, and how it is abused in today's world.  We were quite late getting out, but I sure didn't mind.

Mark called to say he was just leaving Hugoton, so he will be here before long, and we will try to figure out that English paper of his.  :-\  Nice that he thinks Grams can be of help!  :)

Hello there, Liz!  I hope I didn't stir up a hornet's nest with my comments, really was just contemplating how insignificant I am, in the overall picture.  It is good for us to feel humbled sometimes, and today was one of those days that it wasn't painful for me.

I always enjoy your posts, and admire you for maintaining a sense of humor in the midst of often painful circumstances.  Since both of us have daughters (Larry, too) who have serious health challenges, we do have a common bond.  I pray for you and wish the best for you.  ((((hugs))))

I routinely don't comment on posts, more because I don't want to offend someoneby missing them than any other reason.  Janet I am always amazed at your energy and activitiea, sometimes to the point of perhaps envy or intimidation. Same goes for you Marilyn.  I read all the posts and where I see prayer needs, let the individual know I am praying.  Nuff said.

A senior couple in our church celebrated their 50th anniversary.  Their son-in-law had his guitar and he took the service.  My what a guitarist he is.  Obviously conservatory trainned.  Absolutely amazing.  His message was unusual.  He had a prepared message which was set aside, and he was obviously speaking as the Spirit spoke to him.  It was unusual to say the least, but very touching at the same time.  More than one person was touched.

There is a little girl, 4 years old, who has been asking questions.  "Mommy where is God? Does God live in the planets?  How long has God lived?  Does God talk to us?  This child has asked these questions and more.  Mom and Dad are not Christians, so Mom took Hope to Bonnie (my daughter) and asked Bonnie if she could take the family to church with her.  Now this means 4 children, and 2 adults to be picked up every Sunday Morning, in time for church.   We were running late today and this Mom was so determined to take her family to church that she called a cab just to get there.  Wow is all I can say, more dedication from this mom, than from a lot of "Christian" moms.

It is cold up here in the north this weekend. A high of +10.  Brrrrrrrr

Well I must go.
Be back later.

Think nothing of it, Marilyn - I do.

Papa John

We had great time this morning at worship.  For the first time Cornelia went without the oxygen.  We had it in the car but when we got to church we turned it off and left it in the car.

This morning we honored all of our high school graduates.  There were 21 of them and they each received a Bible.  They gathered at the front and we prayed over them.  We have a very talented youth director and he gave the sermon.  It was excellent.

Rachel came and took us today and by coincidence an old friend of hers who roomed with her in college in who now lives in Texas was there.  They had a good surprise reunion.

Marilyn our oldest daughter will be 56 in August.  Kind of scary isn't it.

Hello all!

What great news!  Cornelia attending church without her oxygen!  Woo Eee!!

This morning I had help with the duping of the Cassettes and CD's.  One of the elders helped me.  Now he knows it isn't an easy job.  He said I was bossy!  Me?  No...just that a retired Supervisor in Electronic Assembly knows that you don't do the work while telling what you do.  You tell them what to do and them to do it and then they will remember it.  And explain 'why' helps a lot also!  Anyway, for some reason I was later leaving church than usual!

Then I had lunch  and then to WalMart.  I got me a Red Hat for the Red Hat Society....no one commented about that here on CP but that is okay!  And a shirt and a pin.  I already have red/purple earrings that I always wondered why did anyone put those two colors together for earrings.  So now I have a good reason to wear them!

After I got home I had a call on my answering machine from a step-daughter.  So I called her.  She is in Ft Wayne...a couple of hours away.  Seems her little granddaughter has won Miss Indiana Baby Contest.  She was one in January.  She was in Indy and was going to stop by but I wasn't home.   :'( :'(

Then Tony, my son, sent me an Instant Message asking if I was going to be home.  So a few minutes later he came on his cycle.  He rode the Harley this time.  When his wife is with him he rides the BMW.  We talked about him and his wife taking a vacation out West.  I have always said the way to vacation out West would be on a cycle!  So he is hoping .....Next Year!

Now it is catching up on the computer so I can get my feet and legs up!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I have had a very nice day although it rained very heavily almost all morning.  It didn't deter folks from being in church.  We had a good Sunday School lesson and then a very good worship service with communion.  The choir sang an anthem called "One Communion" that was very nice and almost brought our choir director to tears (good tears because we did it well--not tears of frustration.

After church we went out to a Chinese place for lunch with 5 friends and had a very nice time, as usual.  I came home and rested for a short time and then our son came over and did a couple of things for his mother and then was able to solve my file and printer sharing problems (at least I hope they are fixed).  So it has been a very nice day.

I have participated in discussion boards on the Internet for probably 10 years.  In that time I have learned never to expect comments on what I write nor that I should read anything into that.  I am sure it is not that people don't read what is written but just may not see anytining they wish to comment on, they may not have the time to make many comments, and as Judy said, may be concerned that if they comments to a few the others might feel left out, may not feel up to writing much or have any of a dozen other reasons.  Just as it is easy to reach the wrong conclusions on things being said because we cannot see facial expressions and other clues we have in verbal and face to face conversations, I hope we will all vow never to take personally either the comments made or not made in terms of the negative.  These are just my views and I know we each think about things differently so am certainly not trying to lecture anyone but just raise some areas for consideration.

Same here, Janet ... Last I read you hadn't decided.   :-\

JudyB~That is really a great testimony to that mother's determination.  As you said, more than a lot of Christians.   :-\

Papa John, I echo Etta Sue's elation at Cornelia getting to attend church without her oxygen.  And that your daughter had such a pleasant surprise with a good friend.  I pray the good news just keeps onacomin'   ;)

Marilyn and Al ... 'member when I was with y'all a couple years ago? I know how you two are with each other.  Good friends!  (I like to tease like that too)   ;)

Larry --- I agree. ;)

Hi Jeanne ... You snuck in while I was editing.  Sounds like you had a great time at church today.  :)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Ritz

Wow Etta Sue! Everythings coming up roses for you it seems ! Congrats on the invitation to be a red hat, and the baby winning the contest!

Pappa John, That's such good news about your wife!  <3

Jeanne Lee

Another wonderful Sunday.  My boss, the town supervisor, and his wife are members and usually attend the early service.  But today, being Communion Sunday, they came to the second service and brought three of their granddaughters.  And with my boss sitting there, the sermon was on working.   :clobber:  We got a good laugh out of it.

During the Offertory one of the ladies who is a member of a lady's barbershop, and her son who is one of the 4 to 1 group who sang last week, sang a beautiful duet.

Then after the benediction when the pastor had reached the back of the church to greet everyone, the organist (the pastor's wife) started playing "Happy Birthday, just as the overhead showed "Happy Birthday Pastor John!"  We all stood, turned toward him and sang.  Our church is definitely not quiet or dull!

Oh yes Jane I remember how you like to tease too, you just joined right in.

Etta Sue, One of the ladies at my church came up to me Wednesday night and said she had been shopping and saw something that made her think of me so she bought it and gave me a beautiful Red Hat pin with a Red feather on it. I wore it to church today. I have worn a couple of my red hats to church from time to time on Wednesday night, I told my friend that one of these day I would wear my Fancy red hat to church on Sunday.

Hi Jeanne, Carol I didn't forget you either. Hi Papa John.

We had a Missionary from Spain speak after prayer meeting he also had a Power Point presentation.

I am gonna have some Top Ramen now. I like it very once in a while.

Would y-all help me bombard heaven this week Interceding with me that my Gilbert will let me take the kids to church on Mother's day.

Hi, all.  I'm relaxing from a relaxing family reunion. :)  We had some family at a beach house in Bandon.  Same as we did two years ago.  It was nice, but still....Sue and I agree it's also nice when it's over and we get back into a routine again. (right now she's cooking hamburger patties and steamed cabbage for our dinner/supper.

Very seldom do I comment on posts.  I do read, but I'm afraid if I reply to one person, I should to another, and what if I leave someone out? :)  I keep thinking I'll take more time here and respond to comments but so far I'm rushing in and out.    It makes me feel bad too.  I feel like I'm not contributing much, but still I want to read and be a part of your day.  Nita

Janet

Oh, dear, oh, dear!  I inadvertently stirred the pot, and I am so sorry.  My post was NOT intended to scold anyone nor make anyone feel bad at all.  I was only commenting, and that only because I felt good that "being ignored" didn't hurt my feelings, so I felt I am growing in the Lord.  Still........ :-[ I apologize!

I have brain drain tonight!!  Grandson Mark drove up after church for me to help him with his Expository Writing II papers.  Whew!  Let me tell you, that is NOT an easy course!  We just finished a few minutes ago, and he headed back to Hugoton.  He doesn't have to go back to college until tomorrow evening.  I'm sure he is even more relieved than I am that those papers are ready to hand in on Tuesday! :P

To those who have expressed an interest in my prints, I will be contacting you later.  I haven't received the credit card bill for them yet, so can't tell you the price.  But I will!  ;)

I must get to bed, talk to you tomorrow!
