Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

"It is impossible to be a true

J. Gresham Machen

Morning Devotional...

She went forth out of the place where she was...on the way to return unto the land of Judah.
Ruth 1:7

Sometimes without realizing the consequences we take detours in life and end up paying a heavy price.

Naomi had lost her husband and sons—everything except life itself, and was returning empty handed from a place of fellowship with the world. But she was doing the right thing. Returning.

There was no blessing for her in Moab. She did like the prodigal son when he finally came to the end of himself. He returned unto his father.

If you get out of God's will, know this, that God cannot bless you unless you return.

There is a way to return, and blessing awaits you there.

Lord, I'm Coming Home
(Click to hear music)

Words & Music: William J. Kirkpatrick

I will set out and go back to my father
and say to him: Father, I have sinned
against heaven and you.
Luke 15:18[/color]

Kirkpatrick wrote this song at a camp meeting in
Rawlinsville, Pennsylvania, with a very specific purpose:
to win the soul of his soloist, a nonbeliever.

After Kirkpatrick prayed for the young man,
these words came to him. He wrote them down
quickly, and after the soloist sang them that
night, he became a Christian.

I've wandered far away from God,
Now I'm coming home;
The paths of sin too long I've trod;
Lord, I'm coming home.

Refrain
Coming home, coming home
Never more to roam;
Open wide Thine arms of love;
Lord I'm coming home.

2
I've wasted many precious years,
Now I'm coming home;
I now repent with bitter tears;
Lord, I'm coming home.

3
I'm tired of sin and straying Lord,
Now I'm coming home;
I'll trust thy love belive thy word;
Lord I'm coming home.

4
My only hope, my only plea,
Now I'm coming home;
That Jesus died, and died for me;
Lord I'm coming home.

5
I need His cleansing blood I know,
Now I'm coming home;
O wash me whiter than the snow;
Lord I'm coming home.

Isaiah 45:18
For thus says the Lord,
Who created the heavens,
Who is God,
Who formed the earth and
made it,
Who has established it,
Who did not create it in vain,
Who formed it to be inhabited:
I am the Lord and there is no other.

Morning all (sorta, still not quite 9:30 at night here lol)

Nita

Oh, it is raining sooo hard.  I love it.  The guys did digging today, for the job tomorrow.  I know it isn't helping that the holes will be filled with water and mud, but I can't help if it rains, and can't stop it, so I might as well enjoy the sound.  Right? lol

Jane, thank you for inviting me to your house tomorrow.  Actually Kim is having some of the wives of the workers at her house, and I told Her I'd like to meet them.

Ty and Rock will go to a doggie daycare service from 8 am till 4 pm.  I feel bad about that, because they won't know why they're there, but it seems to be the only option.  They'll just have to forgive me later. haha

'TeresaDawn, thanks for posting that Scripture.  :)

Samantha, I'm really glad your eyes are ok.  Your mother in law is going to have a hard time being still this Thanksgiving. haha  I guess you'll all just have to be lovingly firm and let her know how much you enjoy doing for her for a change.  It's hard for us older folks to stop doing and let others do for us. :)

Pat, I still remember that sense of being "home" when I fully understood Christ's love for me and gave Him my life.  Home is a beautiful word, but for us who belong to the Lord, it is life itself.  Home is where He is, and Home is our destiny.  I can get pretty happy thinking of that.

Night all.  Gotta go and sneak up on sleep and see what happens.  I won't be in tomorrow, or today for some of you, but I'll see you later.  love, nita

Marilyn

`Here it is just before 3 am and I am awake, decided to get out of bed instead of just laying there, now I'm cold and I don't want to turn on the heater so I am going back to bed. Just thought I would stop by and read the devotional.

To answer Pat....Today is the '60 Chix luncheon.  I am taking Kitty with me.  She is a wife of one of the graduates.  Then we are going to Bluffton, Indiana, to her sisters.  Yes, I am taking my camera.  I really wonderful day.  Bright and sunny.  But I must hurry or I will be late or worse, hair not combed, dirty teeth and no makeup!

And then, of course, tomorrow is church.

MIEKA!!!  How wonderful to read your too short post!  And of course I am not mad, you silly!  In fact, when I put that about "getting the plumbing problems licked" I smiled to myself thinking how you would see that phrase!  And you did not disappoint me.  We love you so much, and hope you will come and post as often as you can.  I wish I were on board the Reverie, so I could eat some of your good cooking, Chef Choy!  ^-^ <3

I have just read all the postings from yesterday, and now I must go to town and work on that mobile home some more.  Darrel called a bit ago and told me to bring more stuff........we probably have two more days of hard work to do and it will be ready for occupancy.

It is so good to "see" all of you here, and I will be back later.  I have news of Beth to share, and other things.

Well I see a little sun out there, so I guess no rain for today.  Hope y'all are being constantly aware of our Lord today - that's the best way through the day.  I have to prepare to preach tomorrow, so I guess that settles what I'll be doing today.  Saw the movie, "Dreamer" (Sonjador) last evening, and I'd recommend it to all.  Take a box of kleenex with you though!

Janet you must not work so hard.

Mieka you are working on a Cruise boat? How Fun  :thumbsup:  :thumbsup:

Nita Shame on you your doggies in a day care, I think they will be  :ticked off:.
I just leave mine at home no day care they have each other to keep them company, but hen your are still young enough to get into trouble at home alone. When Bebe was young I left a Bible on the chair arm when I rushed out to help a friend and she became a Holy Dog. 0:-) Good thing I had other bibles. Gotta love that dog.

Etta Sue you have a safe trip and y-all come back now ya heah.

I'd love to see Dreamer, but I usually wait until movies are out on DVD since I prefer to watch them at home.  If I watch movies in the dark I get a headache :(

Hi everyone.  Another beautiful weekend here in Georgia, although a bit chilly but think it will warm up a bit this afternoon.  This is a big football weekend here in the Southeast.  Georgia plays this evening.

After coffee this morning I had to go do some grocery shopping.  When I got home my neighbor came over and I copied off some photos his wife had taken yesterday at the Memorial Day event.  She has a new digital camera and has never tried to remove any of the photos or look at them on the computer.  I then downloaded the pictures I took yesterday and some of them turned out OK.  I will try to put a few of them up so you can see what I was talking about yesterday.

Samantha, certainly glad you had such good news on your eyes.

Pat, thanks for the devotional for today and the hymn you posted.

Nita, hope they are able to work today with all the rain.  Know you want to get the plumbing fixed.

Marilyn, you were certainly up early.  Hope you were able to go back to sleep.

Nothing much exciting planned here this weekend.  I need to rest up from yesterday.  Tomorrow is the service at church where we make our stewardship commitment for the next year.

Al, thanks for the report on the movie you saw.  Like you, Teresa Dawn, we will probably await it on DVD and watch it at home.  I haven't been to a movie since I saw Phantom of the Opera with my son.

Ruth Ann Bice

I had another nice surprise today - my daughter is at a nurses convention out west, and she has called me 3 times while she was away! I'll pick her up at the airport tomorrow afternoon.

And, I've been taking care of her black and snow white cat, colored so much like one of those black and white cows that she laughingly began to call the cat who adopted her "Moo." And, the name stuck. So, I've been taking care of Moo this week. Moo is really a talkative kitty, and I'm very certain she will be very happy to have her mistress back in town tomorrow!

Y'all have a good day, friends,

Ruth Ann

Whew! We worked hard all day again.  We only intended to do a few things, but got started and one thing led to another, and another, and........well, you get the picture.  At least it is that much we don't have to do next week.  Still have probably a day or maybe a bit more to finish it up.  Sue came and was busily cleaning when we left.  I'm surely happy to have her help.  :)

Here is the report on Beth I promised this morning:

Beth is in Rehab at the Dodge City hospital, and is doing really well.  She has been there for two weeks, and they work with her for a minimum of three to five hours per day.   They don't think she will ever be free from her wheelchair, but they are teaching her how to do things for herself better and more safely.  They also have her ankle straightened a lot, which has been a major problem.  The orthopedist was to come in yesterday and measure her for specially made shoes and a brace for the ankle.  That will probably be the first shoes she ever had that will FIT!  :D   They are going to release her on Monday, as Medicare will not pay after they are classified as independent.  We went to Dodge yesterday for a family meeting about her care and progress.  It was good.  Dr. V. also has her on an anti-depressant.  She informed him she was NOT depressed----and he said "Yes you are, or you wouldn't be so negative, and argue with everything we are trying to do for you!  We are only here to help you, and isn't that why you came to us?"  So she has changed her attitude a lot, and promised me she will continue to try to be positive, and to go to therapy when she gets home.  She is to continue as an out-patient with the facility here in Ulysses at least three days a week.  All GOOD NEWS, and isn't it time for some good news for and about Beth?  Praise God!

Marilyn, when there is work to be done and only us to do it, I have not much choice but to work hard.  And I have been working hard most of my life, so it isn't anything new for me.  But I do enjoy some days off occasionally. :)

I am too tired to respond to each of you, but please know that I love you all!  I will try to get in for a few minutes tomorrow afternoon.  Sundays are really busy now that we are practicing for the cantata at 4:30 on Sunday afternoons.

Janet, so happy to see the good news concerning Beth and the progress she has made.  We will be happy to see her posting on CP once again.

Carol

Thanks for today's devotion on that if you get off track, you can return and you must return for blessings.

Judy B:  If I recall, you heat your home with wood.  I hope that you can stay warm throughout the winter!!!

Larry:  Thanks ever so much for the nice link to veterans.

Anthony:  I hope that you are over the weather now & not still under the weater... ;D

Mieka:  Oh, you know a few photographers!!! :lol:  I think that I know a few myself.  It is wonderful to have you posting.  What is happening?

Etta Sue:  Ouch, the sciatic nerve is so touchy.  Mine was just a little off a few times this week - I try stretching.  It was from standing & cooking & baking so much.  At least, I think so.

A very full week here & I made two vegetarian quiches and two pans of sausage/egg/cheese casserole and a pan of sweet rolls for a woman's group brunch this morning.  It was very windy last night & looks like a storm front is coming but the wind woke me at 3:30 A.M. and just a bit of dozing after that.  It isn't that chilly yet but not many miles away, son mentioned 6 in. of new snow at his cabin.  The entire family is going there for Christmas & that will be cozy with 13 of us but thankful for the 2nd. bath he installed.

We went to see a small band from Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs - they came to our town along with two great singers.  Dressed in 1940's uniforms, they had all the songs of the era.  I saw an elderly gentleman in full dress uniform.  All of the branch songs were sung and the veterans stood at attention & so did Don when "Off we go into the wild blue younder....."  We both had tears over the program and so many just loved being able to hear the music.

Have a good weekend.
Carol

JudyB

Carol Yes we heat with wood.  We have nearly all that we need, just some skid wood to get.  Skid wood is the edges of a piece of timber that is being cut up intoo boards, and yes we have a mill (sort of) nearby.  It was a father/son business.  The father did the wood for homew fires and the son does the cutting into boards.  Unfortunately the father shot himself 2 years ago and the son has cranked the prices up.  So we now look elsewhere for our fire wood.  His skid wood is still affordable though, and that is basically all we need now.

The temp is at 10*C  tonight. about 50*F  That is quite a change from the snow and  snain we had earlier this week.

Good night everyone
Love Judy

Nita

Good evening all.  Today has been an interesting day.

First, Marilyn, I couldn't leave the boys at home because the plumbers would be in and out and they'd be in the way.  Also stressed at all the activity.

The guys were here from 8 to about 4:30.  They were so happy to have it done and feel they had done a good job.  I could tell they felt good.  Kim said, "I know you just can't wait to run some water", so after all but she had left, I decided to wash some rugs that had gotten muddy from the boots.  What happened is not good. :(

When the washer started draining, something like sewer came up in my tub!  Ugh.
I stopped the washer immediately.  It was even gushing out of the casing around the thing that you flip to stop the tub from draining. (very technical, I am). Before they redid all the plumbing, I used to have gurgling come up in the kitchen sink when it drained, but never in the tub, and not sewer.  That is not a good thing at all.  Kim was still here, so when Paul came back to get her, she told him.  He called the plumber after he got home, but he can't get back over till Monday or Tuesday.  I won't be washing till after that. :)  I feel more bad for them than for me.   I think the drain is plugged somewhere.    Kim was so happy that this was being done for me.  I could tell she was really let down. haha  Not me.  I know it'll get done.

I'm tired tonight from doing nothing.  Maybe I'll sleep tonight.  The dogs are already in bed.  Night, all.  nita
