JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and He strengthened me.
Daniel 10:18

What a comfort to know that there is a Man at God's right hand who can be touched with a feeling of our infirmities.

A Man who has traversed the sands of time, and who knew what it was to be a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

He is able to succor them that are tempted, because His sympathy is born from His direct experience of our human condition, apart from sin.
--W. H. Burnett

HE TOUCHED ME

Gloria Gaither

He touched me, O he touched me,
And O the joy that floods my soul!
Something happened, and now I know,
He touched me and made me whole.

Shackled By a Heavy burden,
'Neath a load of guilt and shame,
Then the hand of Jesus touched me,
And now I am no longer the same.

He touched me, O he touched me,
And O the joy that floods my soul!
Something happened, and now I know,
He touched me and made me whole.

Since I met this Blessed Savior,
Since he cleansed and made me whole,
I will never cease to Praise him;
I'll shout it while eternity rolls.

He touched me, O he touched me,
And O the joy that floods my soul!
Something happened, and now I know,
He touched me and made me whole.

Hey I'm first again!   ;D   Actually, it's only accidental because I'm, once again, not getting email notification of new posts.   :-\   I'll just possess my soul in patience and wait for the day  moment when it all resets itself.   :)

Thanks for that song, Pat ... I love it!   He Touched Me!!!    <3
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Good Morning everyone!

Sorry you aren't getting your email notifications, Jane.  I checked the things that need to be ticked and all are ticked so has to be some kind of glitch.

It's frosty here in Guelph today.  But no snow!

Judy and I had a wonderful day yesterday at the Women of Grace conference in a nearby city and the speaker was really good.  Her name was Carol Kent.  She recently wrote a book "Laying my Isaac Down" about her one and only child.

I'll be back later.  Hope to see everyone here today.

Good Morning. Thank you Pat for the devotional and song. Ah yes He touched me and made me whole.

We are having an Evangelist this morning and this evening as well. After morning service we hare having a Soup and Salad Social with the proceeds going to the Women's Ministry to purchased things to fill the Christmas stockings that we put together every year for the needy in this community. I am not sure if we are sending some to Portland this year or not.

This is the Day the Lord has made  and I will rejoice and be glad in it. May you all have a very Blessed day.[\b]

Hi everyone.  I slept in this morning and waited until the house warmed up a bit before getting up.  However, am now ready for church and have had breakfast.

Pat, thanks for the link to the webcam.  I have bookmarked the site so I can check on it again when they get it going.

Speaking of animals, we had an enjoyable evening watching two hours of programming about the new Atlanta Acquarium, that opens this coming Wednesday.  They had a tour of the finished facility and then did an hour about how it all went together, including acquiring some of the fish and animals they have brought there to live.  They have rescued 5 beluga whales, three of which were in amusements parks, and have lots of fish that can only be found in exquite places.  To get some idea of its size they said you could fit 243 regular sized houses in the area covered.  One tank holds over 6 million gallons of water.

Our choir this morning is singing one of the two anthems we will use with the community choir when we have the Thanksgiving service at our church this year.  We should have a choir of 40 to 50 voices, which will be nice.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Well I won't be preaching today.  How will they ever get along?  Actually, it's more than nice to go, relax, listen, and learn.

Larry, I sure wish I could listen to y'all sing in that choir.  I love a good choir.  We have an acquarium down not too far from where we used to live in Campbell, Cal. - at Monterey.  It's called the Monterey Bay Acquarium.  There's a somewhat smaller one at San Francisco, and there's also a somewhat smaller one at Victoria and another at Crescent City, CA.  I don't know if there are any others on the W. Coast.Actually, come to think about it, I left out the most wonderful one of all on the W. Coast - at Newport, Ore.  It's not only an acquarium, but also an outdoor wildlife zoo, with some quite exotic exhibits.  Anyone going to Oregon should definitely stop there.

Carol

Pat:  The piano music was so relaxing - thank you.

We just returned last night after I spent time with daughter & Don was at a board meeting in Colorado Springs.  Rushing around as daughter is now driving here today with her two children for a two-night visit.

Al:  I have a nephew in the Newport area and would dearly love to see him & visit that aquarium as well - some day.

Larry:  Your new aquarium sounds so interesting as well.

I have sewn patches on a Girl Scout vest for granddaughter - my daughter had used glue.  She is brilliant but can't touch a sewing machine.   ::)

We had another wonderful meeting with the presence of the Lord so strong.  Now we are home and have eaten lunch and are waiting for my sister Doris and husband Vernon to come by for a short visit on their way home to Hershey, Nebraska.  I think I just heard a car door slam!

It's them!  So I will get off here and visit with them a while.  See you later.............

Good Evening folks...

Been a busy day here for me.  Thought I'd drop in and just say, "Hi"!

I agree, Larry, that acquarium sounds so nice.  Maybe I'll zip down there sometime and visit it.  LOL

Enjoy your visit with your sister, Janet!  Someday, I'll surprise you and say, "Hey, put the kettle on, Janet!  I'm about to arrive!"   :lol:

Carol, enjoy your time with your daughter!  That's so nice that they can come for a couple of days with you.  Glad you enjoyed the music.

Nice you could sit back today, Al Moak, and enjoy the preaching instead of doing it.  :bible:  Hope you and Marbeth are doing ok.

Hi Marilyn!  :cheer:

Here's a hymn I've never heard before...

Safely Through Another Week
(Click to hear music)

"Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God." Exodus 20:10

Words: John Newton, in Conyer's Collection of Psalms and Hymns, 1774

Music: "Sabbath," German tune arranged by Lowell Mason, 1824

Safely through another week God has brought us on our way;
Let us now a blessing seek, on th'approaching Sabbath day;
Day of all the week the best, emblem of eternal rest,
Day of all the week the best, emblem of eternal rest.

Mercies multiplied each hour through the week our praise demand;
Guarded by almighty power, fed and guided by His hand;
Though ungrateful we have been, only made returns of sin,
Though ungrateful we have been, only made returns of sin.

While we pray for pardoning grace, through the dear Redeemer's Name,
Show Thy reconciled face, shine away our sin and shame;
From our worldly cares set free, may we rest this night with Thee,
From our worldly cares set free, may we rest this night with Thee.

Here we come Thy Name to praise, let us feel Thy presence near,
May Thy glory meet our eyes, while we in Thy house appear:
Here afford us, Lord, a taste of our everlasting feast,
Here afford us, Lord, a taste of our everlasting feast.

When the morn shall bid us rise, may we feel Thy presence near:
May Thy glory meet our eyes, when we in Thy house appear:
There afford us, Lord, a taste of our everlasting feast,
There afford us, Lord, a taste of our everlasting feast.

May Thy Gospel's joyful sound conquer sinners, comfort saints;
May the fruits of grace abound, bring relief for all complaints;
Thus may all our Sabbaths prove till we join the church above,
Thus may all our Sabbaths prove till we join the church above!

Thanks, Pat.  It was a very short visit, just long enough for us to fix them a bite to eat, and they were off and running again.  And I will be so happy to get your call telling me you are about to arrive!  I'll keep that kettle handy!  :)

Larry, how I would love to come to Atlanta and visit that acquarium!  Wow!  Sounds just wonderful!

I have a lot on my heart that needs praying about tonight, so I will see you all tomorrow.  We had lots of prayer at church, but I still feel the need for more time with Him.

Hi All  This has been a busy day.  Church this am and after a luncheon as we visited with the Faw's.  They are missionaries in Brazil.   During the luncheon the youth had a practise for the Christmas Concert.   Them we went out to browse around a store to "put in time" until the Drill practise for Melaura and then the childrens Christmas practise.  We just arrived back home.  The girls  are off to bed and we are not far behind them.

Melaura has the opportunity to be the drill commander and for such a tiny lass they found out she has a BIG voice.  At least there she can shout to her hearts content!

Please pray for Bonnie she is going through some tough times right now.   Thanks

John heads out again tomorrow.  I think to Spring City, TN.  He does enjoy that trip.

Well I am off to bed Night all

Papa John

Well I thought I would drop in for a minute tonight.  We have had a nice day.  Chris finished up the book of James this morning.  He asked our elders to come to the front and then asked for everyoe who would like for the elders to prray for them to come .  One or more elders would sit with each one and listen to their requests and pray as we continued singing.  Many came and we had a good time and as Janet said we all felt the presence of the Lord.

We are coming down the home stretch with our Bible reading.  Now we are in the middle of the book of Acts and we will soon be finishing up three years reading the Bible outloud.

2 Tim 3:14-17
14   But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
15   and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16   All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17   that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)
