Morning Devotional...All Thy waves and Thy billows are gone over Me. Psalm 42:7
The Lord on high is mightier. . . than the mighty waves of the sea. Psalm 93:4
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. Psalm 23:2
The formidable waves of God's ocean of righteous judgment in their entirety crashed over the Lord Jesus as He was sacrificed for our horrific transgressions.
Only He could have survived the pounding turbulence of such an onslaught.
Having borne in full the punishment that should have been ours, He now leads us beside the still waters.
Oh, how much we have to thank Him for!
--David LoganThen that closing scene of anguish;
all God's waves and billows roll
Over Him; there left to languish
on the cross to save my soul.

       Happy Birthday to dear Judy
         Lots of Love,
            Jenny.
Thank-you Pat.Â
That fits...Chris heard on the radio today re the "Face on the Ocean Floor" so I had a look. Surely if anyone looks on the face of God he shall die. Well they have drawn over the mapping so that you can understand where they are coming from wkithout actually looking at the face.Interesting ....     . www.777news.com Topographic Maps.

The sun is shining...the sun is shining...Praise God! The sky is blue...don't know how long for but I shall enjoy it.
The Lord bless you all.
Love,
Jenny.
Bigger is better Pat. Surely you have improved the size of the type...
;D
Good morning. Jenny, good to see you. I'm up early and decided to stop in for a good Lord's Day greeting. It is another two hours before we go for Bible classes and worship.
Thanks for the devotional Pat.
Rev 1:9-11
9 I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
10 On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
11 which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea."
(NIV)
Papa John.
I Jenny, in the Lord's presence on this Lord's Day send you loving greetings from England..
In Jesus Name.
Hugs for you and Cornelia...

The wedding was wonderful. So beautiful. The bride was elegant and the groom handsome. My DIL looked like a dream and my son looked distinguished in his tux. My DIL asked for a Mother hug so I gave her two. But I am sure they are all so glad it is over. Today the newlyweds are off to Hawaii for 9 days.Â
I am all ready for church and the sun is shining!!! Woo Hee!!!

Good morning to all. The Lord's day here is a drizzling rain day. I need to get myself ready, but wanted to visit here first.
Hello to
Jenny, Papa John, Etta Sue and PatNow off to fix the breakfast from SB diet. Then to get ready for SS and church.
Have a blessed and thankful Lord's day.
Good morning, friends,
Today is the new day for us to praise the Lord. Judy, hope your birthday is wonderful and that life gets better and better as the year progresses.
Jenny, I'm anxious to follow that link. Sounds intriguing.
Marilyn, the humor discussion is near the top of the list of discussions close to the introduce yourself section. I explored it a bit and think it's going to be a great addition to our site.
Y'all have a wonderful day with the Lord.
Ruth Ann

Ruth Ann..
Scroll down as well with that link..it
is an awkward site...
Christopher said that the man who did the book said that he studied all the scriptures etc., feels that this is not a "graven image"...see what it says to you.
Hugs
Jenny
Jenny - it's an interesting site about the face.Â
However, I think we need to take careful heed to Isaiah 40:18. It says, "To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him? The workman molds an image, the goldsmith overspreads it with gold, and the silversmith casts silver chains . . . Have you not known? Have you not heard? Hs it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He Who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless."
The meaning of it all is that God is so far greater than anything on this earth that there is no way to make Him visible to human sight or understanding. If we could "see" God, we would not necessarily see anything human-like. We don't know what we would see. We would certainly be overwhelmed to the point of fainting as John did in seeing merely a vision in Revelation 1.Â
It's a far stretch of the imagination to assume that a "face" on the floor of the ocean is like God! It's gratuitous to say the least. He is not like anything we can imagine. It's what theologians call an "anthropomorphism" - an attempt by humans to imagine a god like ourselves.Â
We must for now be content to say that we do not know what He "looks" like - He is far, far greater than such thoughts.
Nice to see so many visiting NEM today.
Pat what has happened to "Gallery" ???????
Just been out taking some lovely pics of trees and a rowan tree in bloom...no'where to post..
Jenny ;)
Good Morning. Â
Pat, the "clickable ads" have disappeared.
Time to turn off the computer and enjoy the rest of the day.

Failure and Success: Co-workers, Not Competitors
And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the
preeminence.
--Colossians 1:18
It is too bad that anything so obvious should need to be said at this
late date, but from all appearances, we Christians have about
forgotten the lesson so carefully taught by Paul: God's servants are
not to be competitors, but co-workers....
A local church, as long as it is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, cannot
entertain the psychology of competition. When it begins to compete
with another church, it is a true church of God no longer; it has
voided its character and gone down onto a lower level. The Spirit
that indwells it is no longer divine; it is human merely, and its
activities are pitched on the plane of the natural....
The Holy Spirit always cooperates with Himself in His members. The
Spirit-directed body does not tear itself apart by competition. The
ambitions of the various members are submerged in the glory of the
Head, and whatever brings honor to the Head meets with the most eager
approval of the members.
We should cultivate the idea that we are co-workers rather than
competitors. We should ask God to give us the psychology of
cooperation. We should learn to think of ourselves as being members
in particular of one and the same body, and we should reject with
indignation every suggestion of the enemy designed to divide our
efforts. The Next Chapter After the Last, 56-57.
"Lord, forgive us for the sin of comparison and competition. Replace
it in our hearts with a spirit of cooperation as co-workers. May the
glory all go to the Head. Amen."

Good morning!! Â This is going to be a beautiful day here on the coast, I can tell. Â :D Â Every day (and night) is beautiful and filled with joy and goodness when God is present! Â :D
Yesterday, a friend from SN was visiting and Nita came over and visited too. Â We had a lovely afternoon together then went to a local restaurant for something to eat -- (we, all three, had salad!) Â BUT... I have to tell you something else wonderful that God did for me yesterday ......
While Nita and Bobbie were here visiting the phone rang (it has been busy with people calling regarding the coming elections).  I answered, and it was a voice from the past.... The man who has brought me fire wood from the mill where he works.  He told me, the last time, that he would not be able to bring any more wood because he had changed jobs and was going to Crescent City, CA.  Well, he cheerfully asked "Jane, do you need any more wood?"  I started to say "no" because I am well supplied  ::)  But knew I shouldn't turn down a gift so told him I could use it.  He said "I have my truck loaded and I'll be there in a few minutes." Â
Sure enough, within a few minutes he was unloading a huge pile of beautiful cedar fire wood in the front yard! Â God is soooo good! Â All the time!! Â I remembered the truck load of wood that I had given a friend recently, for doing some work for me. Â Actually, that was the first load that Ralaigh had brought this year and I had stacked it near the carport because he brought it when I was not home and dumped it there and I couldn't get it around back to the wood shed. Â But, since it was near the carport, it was very easy to load into my friend's truck! Â Â That made us both happy! Â :D
Soooo now I will have a project to keep me busy for a while: Â I need to stack this cord of wood and/or get it around to the woodshed. Â I will probably just stack it where it is and cover it since I'm not sure there is space anywhere else. Â A blessing like this is not a problem, and my Father and I will take care of it. Â ;)
AL~ I applaud you on your very scholarly and thorough explanation ... That is "right on" ! :D
Thanks, Chris!
I pray the Lord shines into each of your hearts and gives you His wondrous presence to warm you. Â
Hello folks, and Happy Birthday Judy...................
I agree with Al Moak, every few weeks we see the " face of God" somewhere, in a cloud or in the sea or in smoke or somewhere.
Well it is cetainly not our God!
He is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth!
The handiwork of our God is everywhere, but His face is not, every so-called "face of God or of our Lord Jesus" is different from the last!! lol.
We are becoming like the catholics who chase after the so called appearances of " mary" in every glass window!
Seriously folks, lets not build our faith on "signs" those are for a "wicked generation" as Jesus tells us.
I have just watches a wonderful nature programme on TV full of God's creation, rivers , waterfalls, mountains, seas and lovely flowers, I did not see His "face" in any, but oh, His beautiful handiwork filled my heart with gratitude and praise.
Regards and love to all, Chris.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
JUDY McKENNA!

Here are some roses for you!

Grrr! What's with this disappearing act?? In the middle of posting---poof! The page disappeared into cyberspace!
And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created He them. Genesis 2:26, 27
I took a look at those maps, and I didn't see any faces! ;) Much easier to see things in the clouds, I think! And one day soon Jesus is coming on the clouds---we will see Him then!
I am feeling a little better today, but still have a way to go. I hope the antibiotic holds out till this stuff is gone.
Now I will see if this will post or poof again!
It's me again! I had said this in the post that disappeared, so will say it again:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUDY MC!!! AND MANY MORE!!
Also, I see we have a new Pat today---and just look at those "PERTY" teeth!! ;D ;D
I hope the ads come back, because it's only been the past couple of days that I could click on them; before, they were greyed out.
Jane, I'm thanking God along with you for the nice pile of wood! I love wood fires, wish I still had a fireplace.
Etta Sue, glad you enjoyed the wedding. Those occasions are great, but if you're involved in the work and planning, good to have behind you, as well.
I posted photos in Architecture, and two new threads in Photos Here. I hope more of you will go take a :o.
Well, what in the world would we do without Oldiesmann to fix up my messes?
He's online right now trying to make order out of chaos that I made last night. I should never do stuff when I'm tired and I was tired last night after that wonderful concert.
The Gallery button will come back.
The humungous "Watch This Space" graphic, I hope, will be the right size
The Google ads will re-appear (hopefully)
What happened was, I clicked on an old file and uploaded it and it overwrote the one on the server, of course and it was a very old file.
So, Michael is trying to fix my mess!
We should all send him a PM later and thank him for being on our site and helping this Grandma out.
Good Afternoon: I am soooo late in getting here today. I got up late, dind't sleep at all last night, My mind just would not shut off.I wasn't going to go to church this morning but went anyway and didn't fall asleep in church. ;D

TTYL
I like your new photo, Pat. Were you carrying that backpack for your recent hike?
Jenny, I often draw associations from shapes I see in clouds, shadows, etc. It has always been fun to see "the barking dog" - the "elephant with the huge long trunk" etc. Thank you for the link. It's interesting that someone has seen the image of the face on the map.
I can't wait to see the face of my Saviour when I get to heaven. Imagine, just imagine, seeing my big Brother and feeling the awe and majesty found in His presence!
No, I don't want to engineer my passing, but neither do I want my stay to be prolonged should catastrophic illness occur. Imagine transferring from pain and sorrow and loss and grief and the other burdens we bear - in an INSTANT! - just like the snap of my fingers - to see Him face to face.
Ruth Ann
I was able to go to two google ads.
Pat: Just keep reminding us to check out the ads and even if we only looked at one per day that would be of some help, I expect. You are looking great! I know you have been checking calories!
Etta Sue: How terrific to have the wedding over and it sounds like it was a wonderful time for you. Blessings to the new bride and groom!
Jane: You did the right thing in accepting the gift of a load of wood. It will come in handy for sure.
Don just did the sweetest thing. He has been hurting so much from his sciatic problem - at least we think it is that - and went to the downstairs workshop and made me a special pen with wood from Bethlehem. It is so pretty. Tomorrow, we go to VA hospital for his ultrasound to rule out other possibilities.
I am counting my blessings.
Carol
After I had breakfast, I went out to take a look at the wood piled in my yard. It rained during the night so the wood was wet (at least on top and around the sides). I was thinking I needed to start stacking it so I could get a tarp over it before more rain comes, when all of a sudden my Father suggested I stack it on the front porch! It's covered and wood stacked just outside the door will be easily accessable when the weather is bad and I don't want to go out in the rain for wood from the woodshed! HE is so smart!! :D
Well, I started carrying wood from the yard to the porch ... when there was a reasonable amount there, I began stacking it. Worked at it for about 1/2 an hour and had to come in and rest my aching back. :-\ My right arm and shoulder still gives me trouble and is weak since I broke the clavicle, I tire easily, so must rest often. But, after a while my Father and I started in again! It will take a while to complete the job but it will get done and I know I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me! :D
Jane, how about posting a few photos on this site for us, of your place? I think I saw some when you first moved there, on SN, but would like to see them again, or new ones.
I called my server, the kid who answered doesn't know any more than I do about why my photos are showing as red x >:( I think I will check some of the ones that have been on here a long time and see if they still show.
EDIT: I came back to say that all the photos I had posted are missing from this site. I wonder what the deal is? :-\ :-\ :-\
Greetings to all ypu wonderful people,
Happy Birthday to you Judy, and many Happy returns!!
My mom is home finally from the hosiptal.. She has a broken nose, very bad swelling all over her face and a broken wrist. So far so good, she will be staying in Oregon for several months now as she os inable to travel..
It is so nice to read all the posts. I am so Thankful for all you wonderful God loving friends..God bless and keep you.. Alma
Hi everyone. It looks like things are back in order here on CP, Pat, as I see the links to the ads and to the Gallery. Every couple of days, when I think of it, I try to check out the ad links. I have found some interesting sites.
Last evening my Pat did some reflexology on my feet and then applied some Emu oil on my lower back and hips. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized my pain had ceased and I have felt fine all day today. We went to Sunday School and church and then out to eat lunch. When we got home I took a nice nap.
Janet, sure sorry to read that you are not feeling well but glad you are a little better now. Sounds like you got a good bargain at Walmart. You were in the right place at the right time.
Jenny, we have some special wool mattress covers that fluff up like the feathers. I appreciate your suggestion, however.
Jane, glad you got the wood and it sounds like a good idea to place it close to where you need it. Just don't overdo in moving it.
Ruth Ann, that was certainly a memorable event and a blessing you had with the doctor.
Carol, it is about time that Don started feeling better. Hope the tests tomorrow rule out other problems.
Marilyn, hope you will sleep better tonight. It seems that sometimes we just can't turn off our thinker.
Happy Birthday, Judy. Hope you have had a great day.
Chris, good to see you posting again and sharing the Tozar devotional pieces.
Al, thanks for the explanation on the appearance of God.
Etta Sue, the wedding sounds like it was great. Did you get some photos? Is that a new picture of you here on CP?
Kathy, Sue, and Sarah nice to see you posting. Alma, you were posting while I was writing. Glad that your mother wasn't more seriously injured, although it was certainly bad enough.
JANET, PAT, NARDS & JANET: BW does stand for Beautiful Wife. Sometimes BW is easier to write that than "Donna" and at other times I want people to know that I have a beautiful wife. (PAT: maybe now would be the time to unveil the rest of my posted picture showing my BW...)
I borrowed the term from a now-deceased Earl Wilson, a columnist for the Detroit Free Press. Whenever he referred to his wife in the column he used BW.....It was a term of endearment for him and it is for me, too.
Donna is beautiful by more than looks. Once, my brother-in-law was teasing her about how I was BC (before Christ) She terminated the teasing by telling him, "I don't care what Ed did before he became a Christian." She accepted me just as Christ did. She would not hear of my past, only the now and the future....Those words gave me the greatest feeling....second to her telling me that I was her best friend.....
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but yesterday the family was here and time flew by quickly.
Hi I am just running through here to say Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
I got it done! ;D
There is a saying that the journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step. Well, the stacking of a yard full of wood begins with one stick! I was finished by 4:30 p.m. Just in time for Jack Hayford's TV message. I'd work for a while; carrying wood from the yard to the porch for about 4 or 5 arm loads, then I'd come up onto the porch and stack... Back into the yard for a few more trips before my back was screaming for a rest! I'd come in and sit in the recliner for a while, until my face returned to somewhat "normal" color and I could stand again, and then head back outside. ;D
A friend called me during one of my breaks, and we chatted a while, so that was good. There seems to be a movement afoot to have me teach a group starting around the first of the year. I told her I'd have to give it some thoughtful prayer, but, if the Lord is in it then, of course, I am willing. :)
I must run -- or walk slowly -- and tend to some things I have been neglecting for the past couple days. I'll be back later (maybe) and look forward to seeing what y'all have been up to. ;)
CU---Jane
Ruth Ann, yes, that's my camera backpack and I had three cameras in it. I was pretty warm when the photo was taken and Andrew looks so cool and relaxed! LOL
Hi Jane. Great you got all that wood piled.
Hi Pat and Everyone:
I like your new picture Pat. It looks great. I have been away on a hike and so busy, but will post tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing fine. God Bless
Love Ruthie
Hi Ruthie! Glad to see you. Don't be a stranger in here! Don't forget your birthday is coming and we'll have to have a party in here for you! LOL
