Morning Devotional...

Revival: Let Anyone Seek His Face

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
--Hosea 10:12

It will require a determined heart and more than a little courage to wrench ourselves loose from the grip of our times and return to biblical ways. But it can be done. Every now and then in the past Christians have had to do it. History has recorded several large-scale returns led by such men as St. Francis, Martin Luther and George Fox.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no Luther or Fox on the horizon at present. Whether or not another such return may be expected before the coming of Christ is a question upon which Christians are not
fully agreed, but that is not of too great importance to us now.

What God in His sovereignty may yet do on a world-scale I do not claim to know. But what He will do for the plain man or woman who seeks His face I believe I do know and can tell others. Let any man turn to God in earnest, let him begin to exercise himself unto godliness, let him seek to develop his powers of spiritual receptivity by trust and obedience and humility, and the results will exceed anything he may
have hoped in his leaner and weaker days.
The Pursuit of God, 70-71.

"Lord, today I commit myself to 'turn to God in earnest,' to 'begin to exercise [myself] unto godliness,' and to 'seek to develop [my] powers of spiritual receptivity by trust and obedience and humility.' You determine the results. Amen."

Well today is the last day of revival at Abundant Life center in McKinleyville, California. We have really be blessed by God's word through Brother Craig Lorick, If he ever comes to your area I hope you will go to hear him.

We had our Spaghetti feed and fellowship before the service. We had an altar call at the beginning of the service and another at the end, there were 4 salvations, and a lot of breakthroughs.

I was blessed to pray for a brother who has been troubled with depression as he received his blessing from the Lord. The teen challenge men's group has been there for 2 nights and many of them were blessed too.

Two more services and I am praying that our church will be forever changed. God knows that we needed a changed. There was another brother that had told our pastor the first night that after the revival he was moving on to another church, Friday night he repented and is now staying on. He told me that he had let the lies of Satan convince him that he was unhappy with ALC.

Oh how that old slime ball satan lies to the people of God. Do not listen to him children for he only comes to steal, kill and destroy. He is the chief liar of all liars and will destroy your life if you let him. Come to Jesus and cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you.

Janey God loves you and is going to take care of all your expenses that have come because of the IRS.

There is a message here for someone, I do not know why I have said the things I have here this morning it is not Marilyn who has said that which is in the purple and the blue.

Thanks for todays devotional

Pat: You must be very tired with all the moving of furniture.

I got a call from a friend this morning asking if I would like to go for a short drive she was making a donation to help those in the south. These people in Caledon East are filling a trailer - closing their store for a week and headed south to deliver the treasures.

Saturday I picked up my Aunt and headed to her SIL's in the Barrie area for a lovely visit.

Soon I will headed out the door to go over to Sue's for my Mary Kay make over, I will be taking my camera for the before and after pictures.

It is a beautiful sunny day

I've had a couple of friends drop in today and had no time to come to CP till now.

I'm sort of surprised that only 3 people have posted since last night.

Where is everyone?

Hi everyone, yesterday and today have been pretty much lost days as I just haven't felt like doing anything.  I got up this morning and got ready to go to church but after being up a little bit I decided I just wasn't up to going.  Pat, however, went to church.  She said our choir only had two men there and about 7 women.  Our choir director sang a solo.

Ruthie, good to see you joining us again and glad you got your computer fixed.

Marilyn, be careful with what you move.  The men will be able to move those boxes for you.  However, I understand your desire to get some things moved as we did the same thing when we moved here.

Ruth Ann, nice to see you had a good day yesterday and that your voice is improving.

Since I don't feel like writing a lot today I am going to share something someone sent me the other day.  It is about 4 years old but equally current today, especially in light of the hurricane.

AND WE SAID OK!!

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11).

Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.

And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

When someone said you better not read the Bible in school . the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing?

Still, Still with Thee  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/still-still-with-thee.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"When I awake, I am still with You." Psalm 139:18

Words: Harriet B. Stowe, in Henry Beecher's Plymouth Collection, 1855

Music: "Consolation (Mendelssohn)," arranged from "Song Without Words," by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)

Still, still with Thee, when purple morning breaketh,
When the bird waketh, and the shadows flee;
Fairer than morning, lovelier than daylight,
Dawns the sweet consciousness, I am with Thee.

Alone with Thee, amid the mystic shadows,
The solemn hush of nature newly born;
Alone with Thee in breathless adoration,
In the calm dew and freshness of the morn.

As in the dawning o'er the waveless ocean
The image of the morning star doth rest,
So in the stillness Thou beholdest only
Thine image in the waters of my breast.

Still, still with Thee, as to each newborn morning,
A fresh and solemn splendor still is given,
So does this blessèd consciousness, awaking,
Breathe each day nearness unto thee and heaven.

When sinks the soul, subdued by toil, to slumber,
Its closing eye looks up to Thee in prayer;
Sweet the repose beneath the wings o'ershading,
But sweeter still to wake and find Thee there.

So shall it be at last, in that bright morning,
When the soul waketh and life's shadows flee;
O in that hour, fairer than daylight dawning,
Shall rise the glorious thought, I am with Thee.

Thanks for that, Larry - it's so "right on."  I'm glad you're at least able to post here and let us know how you're doing.  May our gracious and merciful Father give you more and more strength and energy, along with a lessening of the pain.

It was a nice productive day today.  It is evening and I am only now turning on the computer to check my mail and come here for coffee.

Now will check out the photo gallery and see the new additions there before shutting down for the night.

Ann Graham-Lotz is going to be at the Palace in Aurburn Hills, Michigan for a "Just Give Me Jesus" crusade.  it is a free event and is this Friday & Sat Sep 23-24

DR SPOCK:  Before he died Dr Spock admitted that because of him there is a generation of spoiled kids running around.  My sis-in-law believed in Dr Spock's book.  I told her the only thing that the book was good for was giving her kids a swat on the seat of knowledge.  She didn't agree.
