JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

There came a leper to Him, beseeching Him. . . Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth His hand, and touched him.
Mark 1:40-41

Our Lord's was a limitless love which knew no frontiers.

It reached beyond the boundaries of convention and culture.

It transcended custom and ceremony. He touched the untouchable and loved the unlovable, and for poor Gentile sinners His compassion has gone over the pale of Israel to reach those in ignorance and darkness.

How grateful we are.
--Jim Flanigan

It reaches me! It reaches me!
Wondrous grace, it reaches me.
Pure, exhaustless, ever flowing,
Wondrous grace, it reaches me.
Mary D. James

Wonderful Grace of Jesus
(Click to hear music)

"The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you."
Romans 16:20

Words and music by Haldor Lillenas

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Greater than all my sin;
How shall my tongue describe it,
Where shall its praise begin?
Taking away my burden,
Setting my spirit free;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Refrain
Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus,
Deeper than the mighty rolling sea;
Wonderful grace, all sufficient for me, for even me.
Broader than the scope of my transgressions,
Greater far than all my sin and shame,
O magnify the precious Name of Jesus.
Praise His Name!

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching to all the lost,
By it I have been pardoned,
Saved to the uttermost,
Chains have been torn asunder,
Giving me liberty;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Refrain

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching the most defiled,
By its transforming power,
Making him God's dear child,
Purchasing peace and heaven,
For all eternity;
And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Refrain

You have closed early tonight Pat. Thank you for the devotional.

Gloria and I went over to the church this afternoon to help with getting the place ready for the Luau. We cut up pineapples, and I washed up the dishes, put meatballs in plastic bags and put chairs around the tables. I stopped onthe way to Gloria's house to buy a brace for  my left wrist and hand. It sure does help.

Well I guess I will say good night and talk to y-all in the morning.

Good Night

This is the day the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice in it and be glad
.

The Lord bless you all this day and give you His peace.  Let our mouths be full of praises today for all His goodness to us.

Love,
Jenny.

What a great devotion to start out the Lord's day.

I am all ready for church.  Looks hazy out there but the sun will soon change that.

I am wondering about Ali.  She isn't drinking water.  I don't know if it has something to do with it but ever since I turned off the A/C and opened the windows, she isn't thirsty.  She acts normal in every way except not drinking.

Hi everyone.

Got up fairly early this morning as was again having some shortness of breath .  Guess I am going to have to see the doctor this next week as this keeps coming back along with a hacky type cough.  Fairly sure I am beginning to experience a bit of congestive heart failure.

Etta Sue, I am also ready to leave for Sunday School and church but we don't start until 10:15 so still have almost two hours before we will leave.  I expect we will go out to lunch with friends from the church as we usually do after church on Sunday.

Jenny, glad to see you were able to get back on the computer since you mentioned you were having big computer problems.  Is your son your computer guru as mine is for me?

Marilyn, hope you enjoy the Luau.

Pat, thanks for the good devotional this morning.

Carol

I tried to post last night but was locked out - so it was a rather sad day of memories yesterday.  Still cry whenever watching or reading about the terrorist attack.  It also makes me sad that we were in several countries last month where they act like nothing happened at all -

Larry:  When I read your note, I just stopped and prayed for you and your health.

Jenny:  Mega puter problems?  That sounds grim.  I will say that we had a ton of problems and after working for several days this puter is still in action.  Sorry that we cannot help you in any regard to your computer - especially me, but I could bake a scone.

Welcome Vec2
We live in northern Colorado.  Where do you live in England?

We went to church last night after m issing almost two months.  Well, I can't understand French, Flemish, Dutch, or German and that is what we have encountered in Belgium.  What a loud service, a young couple brought two toddlers and so much screaming - they could have easily sat in the outside area where service is piped in.  It doesn't help Don with hearing aids as he had to turn it down and then as we went to communion, one fellow in a wheel chair ran over the tail of his beloved dog and there was howling that just echoed in the sactuary.  Such a good message from the younger pastor and both pastors work a lot with Habitat for humanity and we work with them through the homeless situation in this town.  I look at the opportunities for serving and think we can fit in another spot in our lifestyle to volunteer and then again, we do have to have time to put our feet up these days.  Literally put our feet up.

A beautiful day here and that strong hurricane is wrecking people's lives and homes in other areas as it heads towards the Florida panhandle.

A good Sunday to all.
Carol

Marilyn

Good Morning 7 AM here. I just finished writing a long email to a former client in Lucerne Valley. A funny thing happend to me this week.

I was with Gilbert at the new clients house when suddenly my cell phone rang. It was a friend from down south that  is a long time Christian, My friend Kitty. She hurriedly ask me if there were people before Adam and Eve, I told her 'No" and that was the end of the conversation.

I called her Friday night and asked what that was all about. It seems that a friend of ours has been receiving teaching that  teaches otherwise. I told Kitty to get  her away from that teaching. Ugh! FALSE TEACHERS. We must be getting very close to the "last days".

Our Sunday school classes for the next 6 weeks is on the book of Ezekiel. I have always found that book so interesting, and hard to understand in places, but every time we study it or I read it I understand a little bit more.

Must get ready for church now.

I will be back this evening, but will take photos of the Luau. No roast pig tho. we are not doing that.

Oh Dear, try again!

I just did a good post telling you about my trials with the puter., and the diallers that have been adding to my phone bill. Then just as I was posting I got cut off.My telephone company has now blocked all Premium Rate numbers and all international numbers.

Please dear ones do not send me any well intentioned software info ..someone did the other day and it made matters much worse. I hereby declare that even if I know you very, very well indeed I will not use any software that comes across in e mails.

I won't beat about the bush....

Carol  Yes please a nice plate of hot scones would be a comfort to me...and some of Marilyn's jam  ;D

Larry.  I am so sorry you are not well again and you still such a young man. I am glad you are using wisdom.  It is proved right by His servants.

Bye for now all.

Revival: Time Is Running Out

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off
the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
--Romans 13:12

The absence of spiritual devotion today is an omen and a portent.
The modern church is all but contemptuous of the sober virtues--
meekness, modesty, humility, quietness, obedience, self effacement,
patience. To be accepted now, religion must be in the popular mood.
Consequently, much religious activity reeks with pride, display,
self-assertion, self-promotion, love of gain and devotion to trivial
pleasures.

It behooves us to take all this seriously. Time is running out for
all of us. What is done must be done quickly. We have no right to lie
idly by and let things take their course. A farmer who neglects his
farm will soon lose it; a shepherd who fails to look after his flock
will find the wolves looking after it for him. A misbegotten charity
that allows the wolves to destroy the flock is not charity at all but
indifference, rather, and should be known for what it is and dealt
with accordingly.

It is time for Bible-believing Christians to begin to cultivate the
sober graces and to live among men like sons of God and heirs of the
ages. And this will take more than a bit of doing, for the whole
world and a large part of the church is set to prevent it. But if God
be for us, who can be against us?  We Travel an Appointed Way, 50-51.

"Lord, speak to me this morning as I pray slowly through that list of
'sober virtues'-and also that list of attitudes with which much
religious activity reeks. Convict me; change me; cultivate within me
the 'sober graces.' Amen."

Our pastor preached on humility today.
I said "thats one of my strong points! I'm great at being humble!" lol

Pat

I have a question for you in the UK

I have a phone number for a friend I used to keep in touch with near to Dudley (west of Birmingham) and the telephone code I have is 0384 and when I dial it now, I keep getting a message that my call cannot be completed as dialed.

Could someone over there tell me what this code might have been changed to please?

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY
(Click to hear music)
John W. Peterson, 1921-
Alfred B. Smith, 1916-1998

A pilgrim was I, and a'wandering,
In the cold night of sin I did roam,
When Jesus the kind Shepherd found me,
And now I am on my way home.

CHORUS:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life;
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life.

He restoreth my soul when I'm weary,
He giveth me strength day by day;
He leads me beside the still waters,
He guards me each step of the way.

CHORUS:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life;
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life.

When I walk thro' the dark, lonesome valley,
My Savior will walk with me there;
And safely His great hand will lead me
To the mansions He's gone to prepare.

CHORUS:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life;
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life.

FINAL CHORUS:
And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever,
And I shall feast at the table spread for me!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life,
All the days, all the days of my life!

Happy Lord's Day,

I watched the replay of the terrorist's attack yesterday and realized again how terrible it was!  But God protected many people and there were many miracles to tell also.

I am on my way to church and then tonight I will be on the platform with my EE team.  They are graduating from last semister.

God Bless

That Voicerferous Sam is interesting commentary. Chris Thank you.

I am so TIRED, the work at the Luau really did me in. I am a fast worker but I sure couldn't keep up today., cooking, bussing, preparing the tables and all that what not.On top of all that I woke up with a bad headache that is still there but not as bad now.

I only got pictures of the displays. So I am sorry. We had ababy dedication this morning, and our Power Point system is all set up, it still has some bugs wot work out, But it is up and running. I had someone else pick Gloria up this morning and they will be picking her up every Sunday, So I can finally call Sunday mine and Lords day of rest.

The other day I couldn't believe it when I heard Gloria tell someone I wasn't a good worker. I pray that the Lord witll convict her of that statement. Fortunately it was someone who KNOWS me and knows different.

Enough of my grouching TTYL

Oh Marilyn - What a horrible thing for Gloria to say.  Boy... I wish I had someone like you to help me out around here.....glad the person who Gloria told, didn't believe a word of it.  She is probably angry that you aren't picking her up as before.  The Lord needs to do a work on her heart!

Larry:  We are all VERY concerned for you.  Please don't let this ailment go unattended....promise now...ok?

Such a large turnout at our church service this morning.  It was also communion, and our Chinese brothers and sisters shared communion with us this morning.  One a month, the service is combined.  It gets to be quite long that particular Sunday, with our English speaking pastor, then its translated into the Mandarin language.  Today was a barbeque after the service.  Each family was to bring a casserole and dessert to share.  Well, wouldn't you know it.....I completely forgot about it, so of course, we didn't stay for lunch, as I had nothing prepared to bring.  We wern't alone.....several other couples did the same thing, so we all met at a restaurant and had lunch together, so, it was nice after all.

Do any of you watch "Charles Stanley".....what an excellent speaker, and I don't think he even uses notes.
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

I just got back from church.   We had an outreach ministy night and all the people in EE were on the platform.  I called up my Level 2 people and told everyone that "Level 2 builds on the EE presentation to bring confidence and ultimately equip and produce good trainers.  A trainer is a person who is responsible for a team of 3 people"

There were a lot of new people who were interested in getting involved in EE this semester in the after service.  Praying that this semester will be a dynamite class with many faithful servants who are trusting the Holy Spirit to bring many people to the Lord.

The weather is just about perfect in Ontario, Canada.  We all need to pray for the people in the Carribean and ask God to keep them safe during this terrible IVAN HURRICANE.

Pat, trusting everything is good with you.

God bless

Hello Everyone!

Hope that Janet gets home tonight.  What a long drive!  I was sitting here at supper time and Andrew phoned and invited me over for supper so I'm not that long home.

It's a beautiful day here today.

My goodness, it's been a quiet day here on CP today.

It's quiet on here, Pat, because someone, not to mention any names - NINAW - (that's Karma's Mom) gave our fine little boy two chocolate brownies at Homecoming this morning.  ALL THE NOISE HAS BEEN HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Larry, wow, buddy, hope that heart does better.  Praying for you, man.

Looks like Ivan has us in his sights.  Not because it's me, because we really had it easy, but because so many of our neighbors literally have lost EVERYTHING, I hope the route will be different enough to not re-flood our area.  I really just pray that Ivan will weaken and not make it out of the gulf....  Jesus stopped a storm once just for 12 little guys in a boat, you know :)

Jenny, hang in there will that computer.

Chris, humility is a lot like perfection.  Those of us who possess it can only pity the rest of the world.  Hmmmmph.

Etta, cats are the weirdest creatures.  Give her a laxative in case it's a hairball and she can't swallow easily.  Of course, you ask, Bernard, if you are so smart, how is Etta to administer the laxative.  Foot if I know.  That's just a brilliant idea I had while typing this post....

Gotta get for now and start resting for my Monday at work.  It will be bad tomorrow, just coming off of vacation (holidays for you UKers).  It's been great, but Karma is tired of me now, and has put in a special request to my employer to start taking AWAY vacation days next year....  just kidding.

Bye!
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Hi, Pat!  ;D ;D I'm Hoooome!  But I am exhausted, so this will be short.  Beth's little doggie Mieka had her puppies this morning, under Beth's bed.  She couldn't reach them, so as soon as I got home, I went over and got them out for her.  She had FOUR!!  And she is so tiny!  And they are BIG puppies, too.  Unfortunately, two didn't survive.

We stopped for a bit at Abby's and she is really missing her Grandma.  ;D  So that is the only thing she doesn't like about this full-time schooling.  (first grade.)  So I pormised to check my calendar and see when I can pick her up for a little visit.

We went to Santa Rosa, NM and finished up the Scuba class.  I only made one dive.  I dislike getting into the wet suit, it is exhausting work, especially when it is hot weather.  Well, I will talk to you more tomorrow.  I'm headed for my pillow!

I'm thankful the terrible back problems I had earlier today have settled down. Certainly, there's a bit of pain, but nothing like the earlier part of the day.

Y'all have a good rest this evening.
