Morning Devotional...

He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore His arm brought salvation unto Him.
Isa. 59:16

The Lord hath made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Isaiah 52:10

Some seek to demonstrate their strength by rolling up their shirtsleeves and arm wrestling another.

Likewise, Isaiah metaphorically uses the arm eleven times to speak of God's delivering strength--Calvary being the greatest display.

At Calvary, God's bare arm hung between heaven and earth, took the nails I deserved and brought deliverance to my soul.

What strength!
                                                                    --Warren Henderson

Jehovah lifted up His rod--
O Christ, it fell on Thee!
Thou wast sore stricken of thy God;
there's not one stroke for me.

Hello, from Janice.  It's late as usual, I can't seem to ever get here until the door is closed already.

I hope Pat & Ruthie enjoyed the concert tonight.  I love the Gaither's music.

Etta Sue, I am glad you enjoyed the reunion.  They can be fun - you get to see all the little ones you never saw before, etc.  My family is having ours the Saturday after Thanksgiving, back home.  I look forward to that.  Glad you and Jerry had a good day.

Thank you, Carol.  I needed strength today, I just wanted to sleep.  It all caught up with me, the stress of the last couple of weeks.  Longer than that really, hubby has had to deal with staph infection and cellulitis, going to the wound care center for treatment.  Also he has been having dizziness and some "black out" spells.  I had nosebleed so bad I had to go to ER to get it stopped.  Doctor thought it might be my blood pressure causing it.  Some days I wonder what is going to hit next!  (*^_^*)  God is taking care of us, though, and we are thankful.

Jona, I am sorry to hear about your sister's grandson.  I pray that the little boy will live, and not only live, but thrive and bear witness to the grace of God.  It must be awfully hard on the whole family, especially your sister.
My sister's grandson was in a bad accident a couple of weeks ago too.  Only he is grown up, and the daddy of a new baby boy just 3 weeks old when the accident happened.  Marcus and his dad and brother were trying to pull a vehicle out of a place where it got stuck.  It all involved a jeep, a winch and a cable.  I don't understand completely how it happened but the cable broke, and caught Marcus just above the right ankle, drug him downhill and took his foot off.  He had to have surgery and the doctors had to amputate just below the knee, because of all the damage.  What a burden  for a young man.

Hello to everyone else who comes in today.
I must get to bed, we like to go to the 8:00 worship service, and that comes pretty early!
G'Night!  Love, Janice

Hello All..
I apolagize for not being around very much lately-I don't get on the computer to much anymore except for when I am searching for things for school-How has everyone been? Tomorrow I am starting back on the Prism Program-So, pray that the Lord helps me get through this-I really desire to loose weight. In Janaury Lord willing I am flying to Kansas to be with Shawnee when she has her baby-so hoepfully all goes well with that. My husband and I were blessed with being able to refinance our house.
He has also been given the opportunity to go to swing shift starting on Monday evening-He has worked graveyard for such a very long time.
Tomorrow our plans our church and then coming home and relaxing.
Hugs to all of you..
Rachelle

God's morning!  Good morning!  What a short night.  I was sleeping soooo good when the alarm went off.  But I am all ready for church now.

Today we are having one service only.  The Senior minister and the Teen minister will be sharing the sermon...our first Sunday of sermons on 'The 40 Days of Purpose.'  Next Sunday we will be back to two services.

Then at 2:30p.m. we are to be back at the church to witness the renewing of the vows of our Adult Education Minister and his wife.  Also our Small Groups leader.  Mark and Deborah were married 25 years the 22nd.

So a big day today!

Good morning everyone.  It is hard to believe that Florida is being ravaged by a hurricaine when it is sunny and calm here in Georgia.  Currently it looks like our area will be pretty well spared, just getting some rain.  We are keeping on eye on the weather.

Jona, I certainly will be praying for your family.  One tragedy on top of another there.

Janice, also so sorry to hear of the strange accident involving your sister's grandson.  It sounds like you need a couple of days of rest.

Rachelle, good to see you posting.  Know you are busy with your home schooling.

Sonja, thanks for the devotional this morning.

Carol, hope the weather cooperates on your camping adventure.  It sounds like fun.

Papa John, you probably know this already but to limit your time online you can download multiple pages and then read them.  For example, on the CP site just hold down the control key and cleck on the next page and it will open in a new window.  Keep doing that through all the discussions you want to view and then you can read them and respond at leisure.  Hope you all don't get too much rain their later this week.

Pat, hope you had a great time at the Gaither event last evening.  I watched an hour program he had on TV where he honored Vestal and Howard Goodman using clips from events over the years.

Marilyn, Microsoft released the SP2 update for Windows XP on a slow basis so it is possible that it hadn't been released for automatic update for you.  Also, the size of the download would take a long time (as I am sure you know by now if you have downloaded it.)  Did you get the update installed?

Pat and I will be heading to Sunday School and Church shortly.  We haven't decided (or I should say I haven't been advised as to what we have decided to do for lunch) but expect we will go out to eat.  I don't have to sing in the choir this morning as we have the Atlanta Youth Choir with us today and they are doing the anthem.  They use our church as their rehearsal base so as a way of saying thank you they sing for us about 3 times a year.  Sometimes it is one of their smaller groups.

Hope everyone has a good day.

It was just so wonderful to be able to spend some time with her.

Today is a bright sunny day with the trees just turning colour.  There isn't a cloud in the sky.  Such beauty and grandure(sp/)

Please continue to pray for Albert, John and Ria's cousin, things are not looking good.

I come to you all with a heavy heart. Our church got an awful shock this morning. Our Pastor, His wife and his daughter have all resigned. They will continue until October 31st, then we don't know what else will happen. We will have to elect a new pastor etc. In the imterim period there is the president of the deacons who will be taking over.. I am very sad. They will evenually move out of town. Probably to Fairfield where their son and grandchildren are.

Ohhh, Marilyn!   I'm so sorry.  This is difficult news to get.

Thanks for the updates, Judy on the news from Holland.  We'll be praying.  What a sad situation there as well.

Yes, Larry, it was a lovely evening in Toronto.  The place was packed and the singing was so good.  I didn't have any idea it would be about 5 hours long!  We sure got our money's worth!  Gloria Gaither wasn't there.  Apparently Bill Gaither's father (90 years old) has developed lung cancer and one of them must be with him at all times.  She was missed.

Etta Sue, you DO have a big day in your church today.  Lots of food too?  Be careful!  LOL  :o

We do miss you when you are away, Rachelle.  I'm sorry that you can't come to CP more often but we understand.  Have you been to our Weight Loss Support Group?  Lots of help in there.  Drop in when you can.

Thanks for the good devotional today, Soni!

Thanks so much, Janice for posting.  We don't mind what time you post!  It's always so nice to see you.

Jona, thinking of you and your family today...and praying about the terrible situation regarding little Garret.  Thanks so much, Jenny for putting that request in our Prayer area.

MARILYN~I know, so well, the sense of loss you are feeling today.  As you know, I've been going through more than the resignation of a pastor (and death of a much loved pastor) but the closure of the church in this town.  Today, there is another congregation meeting in the building that used to house ours.  Some of my dear friends have chosen to rejoin their fellowship (and I am not able to because I know too much). Two groups have merged and our former pastor has been chosen to be associate pastor to this new group.

I am praying for you and your friends there.  There will be an answer and you'll go on ... just not with much joy for a while.  I know ... yes, I do know.  ((((HUGS))))

Oh Janey that is so sad to hear your news about the church you used to attend. I remember all the things we talked about when you were here. Of course the circumstances here are much different. Our church isn't closing and most of Pastor's family will remnain here. We will only have another Pastor.

I have posted some pics of the displays at the Women's Ministries Luau 2 weeks ago. Here (http://christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=3436.new;boardseen#new)

Hi, friends,

I arrived in Nashville feeling good after a great two days with my friend and her daughter and grandson, then had a great time being with my brother, who was speaking at their church last night and this morning. Since I had to work today, I ate breakfast, then hurried on home. My boss and I were to meet at 2 p.m., but when I got there it was 1 o'clock and we bumped into each other at the service area. So, I only had to work until 5:45.

I'm thankful I'm home and can get a good evening's rest.

Love to everyone.

Ruth Ann

Well, we went to church here this morning.  We have been coming here for about eight years the 31 week of the year and we really enjoy the worship and fellowship with this church.

Larry, yes that is what I do.  I am off line now reading this and writing.  Then I will go back on line and copy and paste.  The reason I am limited is when I’m not at home I use my daughter’s aol.  She keeps aol for email but uses my cable connection and has limited phone line access.

Hi Marilyn,  I downloaded SP2 in just a few minutes with this high speed connection.  Also you can get a CD for that type down load and with a CD it doesn’t take long.  Sorry to hear your pastor is leaving.

Well tomorrow is another day.  We mostly take it easy here, do a little shopping in the many outlets and sometimes take in a musical show.  I’m not sure what we will do tomorrow.

1 Cor 15:12-17
12   But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13   If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
14   And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
15   More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.
16   For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.
17   And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
(NIV)

Welcome home, Janet!   It's great to have you home.

Glad you had a shorter day than you expected, Ruth Ann.
