Morning Devotional...

When they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him.
Luke 23:33

Calvary is the center of world history.

It is the highest measure of love, the deepest measure of suffering, and the widest measure of salvation. All before Calvary looked forward to it, all after Calvary look back to it.

Our Lord Jesus Christ stands at the center of God's purpose for the world.

The cross of Christ is the key to our understanding of God's grace, His love, His justice and His holiness.

AT CALVARY

Musician: ?Daniel B. Towner, 1850-1919

And when they were come to the place,
which is called Calvary, there they crucified him,
and the malefactors, one on the right hand,
and the other on the left.
Luke 23:33
?

Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.

Chorus:
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

By God?s Word at last my sin I learned;
Then I trembled at the law I?d spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary.

Chorus

Now I?ve given to Jesus everything,
Now I gladly own Him as my King,
Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary!

Chorus

Oh, the love that drew salvation?s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!

Chorus

Well, I am so sorry to keep missing posting.  I hope that in the future I will do a better job.

Thanks for the devotional this morning Pat.  It is good to be reminded what took place on Mount Calvary.  What a weight of sin the Saviour bore.  It makes it more meaningful when we think that it was our sin.

Have a great day everyone.  I have woken up ill and I do  not know if I am going to make it to church this morning, but you never know.  God bless and catch y'all later.

Anthony.

p.s. Dear Sonja, I just got a free hug from yesterday.  You can have one back, but it will cost you $10.00  ;D
"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things."

Jenny

Goodmorning folks.

Soni I shall go and catch up with that hug  ;D

The sun is shining here and everything looks hunky-dory.  Thank-You God! Thank-You Jesus You did it all for me...and here I am enjoying the fruits of Your labour.

And He opened His arms wide on the cross and said I love you.

May you all "Behold the Man." (John 19:5)

May you all receive much love and many hugs today,
Oh and remember to give some away too.
Jenny.

Good Morning Everyone!

I am sorry I have not been communicating this past week. It hs been one of those doozies and I just gave it up to prayer and thanking God forthe unknown outcome. We are still reelig from some things in my family but we are also still standing. So this is more of a hallelujah message than anything else.  ;D

I pray that everyone is well and if we have any Floridians on board, we here in Minnesota
are praying diligently for those caught in the storm.  All for now!  Just checking in to let you all know Im thinking about you. I missed being here last week.

In Christ, Zeebers

I got a hug from Sonja yesterday, too!   :-* :-*

I am all ready for church.  I man the lights today so will be going in a little earlier.  After church I want to go to Meijer's to purchase some of the real fluffy yarn to make some scarves to wear with winter coats and jackets.  I have a few birthdays coming up and I think they will work for gifts.

It is rainy and cloudy.

Good morning, also, friends,

A special hi to Zeebers. I think you intended to  post here in New Every Morning. I find myself having to think about the differences in software when posting, and in this one, it is the "reply" button which helps us stay in the conversation thread.

I'm sorry your week was so difficult. I understand. I've been having some rough spots in the road this week, as well.

At any rate, I tried to move your post into today's thread - most probably Pat will want to do that for us..

Y'all have a good day, and let's all pray for Florida (both the victims and those who are assisting them). I noticed a newsman nearly blown off his feet this morning. Hope the media also stay safe and take care of themselves.

But Frances is still down there and the cruise line is still going out on Monday evening.   ::) ::)

I will be back next week.  (Maybe even earlier :'() All of you have a wonderful week.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life.  No man cometh unto the Father but by me.  John 14:6

Jenny

It is generally easier to commit our unknown future to the Lord than to commit to the present.  I knew a Christian lady whose temporal burden left her sleepless and with no appetite.  One day she saw a tract, "Hannah's Faith," the story of a poor woman who had been carried triumphantly through a life of unusual sorrow.  A kind visitor once exclaimed. "Oh, Hannah, I do not see how you could bear such sorrow!"

Hannah replied, "The Lord bore it for me.  When I take my burdens to Him, I leave them there.  If worry comes back, I take it to Him again and again until at last I forget I have any worries and am at perfect rest.

.......Do you recollect the delicious sense of rest at the end of a hard, weary day? How delightful to relax every muscle, no longer to have to hold up an aching head or weary back.  You trusted yourself to the bed and you rested.

Suppose you had dreaded each moment to find the bed giving way and landing you on the floor.  Would not every muscle have been strained to hold yourself up and the weariness greater than if you had not gone to bed at all?

Learn to trust the Lord.  Let your souls lie down upon the couch of His sweet will, sure He will hold you up.  Your part is simply to rest. His part is to sustain you and He cannot fail."

Revival: The Arrow of Infinite Desire

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they
shall be filled.
-Matthew 5:6

These words are addressed to those of God's children who have been
pierced with the arrow of infinite desire, who yearn for God with a
yearning that has overcome them, who long with a longing that has
become pain.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for
they will be filled."...

A dead body feels no hunger and the dead soul knows not the pangs
of holy desire. "If you want God," said the old saint, "you have
already found Him." Our desire for fuller life is proof that some
life must be there already....

In nature everything moves in the direction of its hungers. In the
spiritual world it is not otherwise. We gravitate toward our inward
longing, provided of course that those longings are strong enough
to move us. Impotent dreaming will not do. The religious urge that
is not followed by a corresponding act of the will in the direction
of that urge is a waste of emotion.  The Size of the Soul, 17-18.

"Oh, God, I have that longing to know You, that hunger and thirst
for righteousness, that 'desire for fuller life.' Move me along in
the direction of that hunger, Lord, and give me the strength to
follow 'in the direction of that urge.' Amen."

"GOD IS LOVE"

~1 John 4:15-16~

If someone says, "I believe that Jesus is the son of God," then God lives in him. And he lives in God. And so we know the LOVE that God has for us, and we trust that LOVE.
God is LOVE. Whoever lives in LOVE lives in God, and God lives in him.

If you are a Christian, He is a part of you.

Shouldn't that LOVE be evident in our life?
Shouldn't that kind of LOVE be our example?

There comes a time in every Christian's life when he or she is not living the way that God wants us to. It could be big ways like getting in trouble at school, breaking a law, or disobeying your parents, (Obeying your parents is one of the ten great commandments God gave us). Or it could be in a lesser way like having a bad attitude, being mad at a friend or complaining alot. When we are not being loving it is hard to take our problems to God. He is holy, and we are not. God knows everything, and that includes all the bad things we have done, said and thought. God is just and fair, and we are afraid that He may give us what we deserve, and that is not what we want, so we usually do not go to Him with our problems.
When those times come remember that God is holy, He does know everything and He is just, but He is also LOVING. In fact in the Bible 1 John 4:16 which we read above, says that GOD IS LOVE. Because of that we do not have to be afraid to go to God and get things right with Him.

Be LOVING!

There are many, many verses about
"LOVE" in the Bible.

"GOD'S LOVE FOR US"

Think of the Biggest thing that you have ever seen:
A Mountain?
A Whale?
The Tallest Building In a City?
Or Even a Dinasaur that lived long ago.
Whatever it is, God's LOVE for us is much BIGGER

One day long long ago King David was writing a song about God's Love for us. He thought about the tallest mountain, and he wrote "Your Goodness is higher than the mountains. He then thought about the deep ocean, and he wrote "Your justice is as deep as the great ocean. When King David thought about God's LOVE he looked up into the endless sky and he thought God's LOVE is bigger, much much bigger than anything I have seen. So he wrote, "Lord your Love reaches to the heavens."

David was overwhelmed by God's endless Love. Take a few minutes right now and think about how huge
God's LOVE for YOU really is!

Psalm 36: 5-7
Lord, your Love reaches to the heavens,
Your loyality goes to the skies.
Your goodness is as high as the mountains.
Your justice is as deep as the great ocean.
Lord, you protect both men and animals.
God, your Love is so precious!
You protect people as a bird protects
her young under her wings.

It is so important
for God's Children
to read the Bible.

Actually the Bible is God's
"LOVE LETTER"
to us His children.

Do you read the Bible?
Do you know what it says
about God's love for us?

Let's read more scriptures
about God and His Love for us.

How Long Will God Love Me?
F O R E V E R !
It is easy to believe that God Loves us when everything is going great. But what about those times when life gets tough? Maybe your best friend no longer likes you... Your parents are fighting or maybe getting a divorce... Your broke you leg and can not play baseball... Your family is moving to a new city.... or your favorite Grandfather died. What about those times? Does God still care about you in times like that?
GOOD NEWS ~ He does! God does not abandon you when the tough times come. In the book of Psalms King David wrote another song about God's Love Continuing FOREVER. In fact David repeats it over and over in Psalm 136. No matter how bad things are God's LOVE for YOU will never fail. Even when we feel that Nobody Loves us. You can know that God LOVES YOU.

So when things are Great and when things are Bad go spend time with GOD. He will let you know that His LOVE CONTINUES FOREVER!

Jesus is my true Valentine
His heart was pierced for me
I cannot tell why He loved me so well
But He proved it on Calvary.

Would you like to learn how to Pray to God?
Or how to write a Love Letter to God?

Skief

Well, yesterday we were supposed to go to a wedding, but as I sat down at the computer to get my emails, I had a tremendous migraine come on.  I quickly popped a pill, and went and laid down, and was out of it for about 6 hours.  Missed the wedding, but my wife and daughter still went.  I was able to play around a little with some pics last night, but not much.  (See the Warhol Tribute on the individual photo thread).

Today preached at the International Fellowship (in English), then went about an hour out of town to do communion at a new church plant.  Just got home.  Sorry that you all have rain, but it has been a beautiful sunny day here.

Skief, I do hope you are feeling much better now.

Karma and her dear ones,.  May God keep you all safe and all in the eye of the hurricane.

I am closing down now.  It is 8.p.m. here and getting dark outside.  We have enjoyed a lovely warm sunny day here in this part of England. I had a nice ride out to the park. God is good.

Anthony, sorry you aren’t feeling well today.

Sonja, I enjoyed the hug as well.  Thanks.

Jenny, good day to you also.  The sun is shining here too.  But the sun is not shining in Florida.  We may get the tail end of Frances on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Zeebers, you missed being here last week and we missed your being here.

We enjoyed our Bible study and morning worship today.

Right now it is time for my Sunday afternoon nap.  Good to see each one of you today.

Hello to all!  We're fine here in WNC.  Lot's of evacuees from Florida in our area.  The Interstates are very crowded with Labor Day traffic anyway, so it's pretty hectic.

Good day!

Afternoon all!

You are all welcome for the hug.

We are getting ready to go play some folf.  Be back later.

Papa John

Well, I did have a great nap this afternoon.  I lay down on the bed and drifted off to sleep and slept for a solid hour.  Sleep is so good.

We go to Sunday evening service at the church at 6:00 and we usually leave around 20 minutes to 6:00.  So it won't be long until time to leave.

Now they are saying that Frances will go north through Georgia and will be east of us.  Larry, Atlanta may really get a lot of rain, up to 6 inches.

Hi everyone.

I went to church this morning but Pat was not feeling real good so stayed home and rested.  I am glad to say that she is feeling better this afternoon.

Papa John, it looks like we will be getting a lot of rain during the next few days.  I stocked up on batteries Saturday just in case we have power outages.  I think we are safe from flooding here where we live as are not close to any large streams.  The pictures from Florida are terrible and there will be so many people without homes.  They are already beginning to talk about another hurricane that might get to Florida by next weekend.

Yes, Marilyn, the hotmail address is still current. I can't remember the exact set of circumstances, but for some technical glitch here in CP I had to remove my email address from this site.

At any rate, if anyone wishes to get in contact with me, use the instant message feature here and point me to your email address and we can correspond. I'm not hiding out - it's just that there was some technical reason why i had to turn off my address in CP.

My tummy is a bit upset, so I'm going to rest the remainder of the day.

Y'all have a good evening with our Lord.

It is kinda like Apple Cobbler only different. An old family recipe. More juice and someting like dumplimgs in it.

Our Senior Minister and the Teen Minister is at a retreat this weekend so our Minister of Adult Education and our Media Minister gave the sermons today.  Quite a change.

Also our church is going to do the '40 Days of Purpose' again starting the 25th will a simulcast at 6 p.m. promptly in our Christian Life Center.  Then the 26th will be day 1 in the book.  We will have small groups and all of us will be reading the same things each day.  We did this last year and gained over 300 in attendance weekly in our church.  The last two weeks we have had over 1000 in attendance.  That is awesome.  God is good!

Jerry and I then went to Noblesville to eat and to Meijer's so I could get some of that fuzzy yarn...faux fur, Tickle, eyelash etc.  I got Tickle...it was on sale.  I am crocheting neck scarves for birthday presents and one for me.  They are real soft but not heavy.  Really warm but not toooooo hot.

Jerry took a nap when we got back here.  I started watching a movie and was crocheting.  I put the crocheting down and prompty took a nap, too.  If the phone hadn't rung, I would still be sleeping.
