JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

      Morning Devotional...

But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near to Me to minister unto Me.
      Ezekiel 44:15

Ezekiel records the rampant idolatry of Judah--even in the temple (Ezek. 8) where some had turned their backs to the altar to worship the sun.

The Lord severely punished them through invasion and captivity, but then showed mercy by forgiving them and returning them home.

      Yet their sin had consequences.

Only the faithful priests, the sons of Zadok, were allowed into the holy places to conduct worship.

Yes, our sins can be forgiven, but let us never think our worship is unaffected by them!
      --Warren Henderson

light and love upon my way,
From the cross, the radiance streaming
adds more luster to the day.

Oh, you're so welcome, Al!  Jack also took courses from there and the fellow that introduced Jack to me became a professor there.  And Dr. Young came and taught for various semesters at Toronto Baptist Seminary from Westminster.

Gregg, hope you got your PM that I sent you.

      Papa John

Good morning.  I just stopped in this morning to say hello.  The weather man promises us a beautiful day with sunshine and the thermometer getting up to 87 degrees.

Cornelia and Martha have gone for a walk in the neighborhood.  I'll get my walking in later today.

What a beautiful morning here!  God has given us a new day.  We can sing of his love in the morning like the Psalmist.

Ps 59:16-17  But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.  O my Strength, I sing praise to you; you, O God, are my fortress, my loving God.  (NIV)

Marilyn and Jane I know you enjoyed meeting yesterday.

I hope you all have a good day.

Pat - who is that man that introduced you & Jack?  I probably know him well!
Dr. Young was a very special advisor to me.  His office and my study carrel were both down in the basement of the library.  In many ways he was a beloved father to me.  No man could know the OT like he did!

      Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I will be brief today as have lots to do.  Just got back from walking and coffee with the men's group at the senior center.  I always enjoy that time as we have a great group of men.

Ria, I have not heard from my granddaughter in a couple of days.  I know she has her hands full as is still trying to hold onto her job and fighting the migraines.  She had to cancel an appointment for an ultrasound as the migraine pain was too severe.  I hope to hear more today.  I don't know whether there will be surgery or not.

I will be gone most of the afternoon but hopefully can stop back by this evening.  Hope everyone has a good day.  Papa John, it sounds like you will have very warm weather today.  We are suppose to get up to about 75 degrees today.

      Sonifo

Hi Larry, I am still praying for your granddaughter.   :(
      Have a fun, busy day.

      Ria~awesome poem...mind if I copy that?

Morning to the rest of you.

Afternoon, Jenny!  I sure miss you.  I am wondering if you went on vacation and i didn't read about it.

I better get going. Troy is waiting for me to work out.

      Janet

      Good morning!

I tried to post last night, but kept getting Page Not Found,  so I gave up and went to bed.

Thanks, Ria.  I am still doing what I can to relieve the pain from my neck, arm, etc.  I did get a pretty good night's sleep last night, which is always a blessing.

I wish I were near a nice warm, sunshiny beach to walk on, Papa John!  And glad you and your family are so blessed.  Enjoy!

I took Abby back to her Mom last evening, so it seems really quiet here today. :)  I was ready for her to go home, but I miss her already. :-\

I have errands to do today, will be back later.

Ria it would be nice if we could post the music for the poem you wrote out.  It is such a beautiful song.

My back is still sore, I go for x-rays today.  I really will be surprised if there is anything cracked.

I am heading into N. Bay in a bit to get the x-ray done.  It is +1*C and we are feeling chilled

This is the day that the Lord has made,
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made,

      Woke up humming that today.

      JudyB

Janet I had that happen as well, so I let Pat know and it was soon fixed.

Had a late night call from John last night.  He won't be home till the wee hours of the morning if he pushes.  I hope he takes time to have a rest first.

      I am off.

Pastoral Ministry: Where Are the Prophets?

      O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You;
my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no
water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power
      and Your glory.
      --Psalm 63:1-2

But it is within our hearts and our beings that God searches and
looks. It is our spiritual heart life that is to be simple. It is in
our hearts that we are to meditate and be silent. It is deep within
our beings that we must be courageous and open to God's leadings.

If there ever was an hour in which the church needed courageous men
of prophetic vision, it is now. Preachers and pastors? They can be
turned out in our schools like automobiles off the assembly line.

      But prophets? Where are they?

The simple, humble, and courageous men who are willing to serve and
wait on God in the long silences, who wait to hear what God says
before they go to tell the world--these do not come along too often.
When they do, they seek only to glorify their God, and His Christ!
      Christ the Eternal Son, 134-135.

"Oh Lord, I long to be one of those 'courageous men of prophetic
vision.' I've been around long enough to see the futility of the
assembly line product. I quiet my heart today; I will 'wait on God
in the long silences;' and then I'll go with only the word that I
receive from You--only for Your glory. Amen."

First of all, I was sorry to hear of Sarah's grandfather passing away.  I pray that God wraps his loving arms around Sarah and her family.

Then, I wish I had been with either Jane, Marilyn, Al & Marbeth OR Ruth Ann and John.  No, I take that back.  I wish I had been with both groups.  It is really great to meet people that you correspond with on the net.

I didn't post yesterday...that was a first for me and me being at home.  BUT I had that test at the hospital and was told I would be sleepy the rest of the day.  Boy, were they right.  Jerry was here when I got back home.  I think I fell asleep in the recliner before HE knew I was here.  Then I fell asleep on the couch.  And then back in the recliner, I went to sleep again.  And then I went to bed early and slept good all night.  So much for sleeping.  But I don't have any after-effects from the test at all.  And I was told 'everything is normal'.

Now today, Jerry has Physical Therapy.  So we are leaving in a few minutes to eat Chinese....Hi, Mieka!!!....and then go for his therapy.  He says it helped him so that is one big plus!!!

       Good afternoon everyone.

Chris, How "today" our dear gone-home brother Tozer is.  His heart teachings can make me cry with longing, and still be excited, for I know the same Holy Spirit is still moving in our hearts.   As long as we are hungry, as long as we are poor in spirit and sitting at His feet with our need.......surely we will be drawn to that place of intimacy, that place where Holy Secrets are whispered to the listening heart.  My forever prayer is that I receive the gifts of silence and listening in patience.  Our precious Lord.....He is all that matters.   :)  I wonder how often He would have shared His own heart........and we were to busy to listen?   I am convicted and can only repent and throw myself into and onto the forgiveness in Christ.

      Lord.........we would be like you!

For any who want to look at Angel's photos.  I've posted some for her.  She's my 14 year old grandaughter.

I've been very quiet, both within and without.   Sometimes I don't like to post here because I know this is our "hello time", and it's usually light and for fellowship.    You know how it is when God grips your heart in something, and you can't think of anything else, but can't talk of anything less......so you don't say anything.  Well, I hope you understand.   :)

Pat, I LOVE the picture of you and Jack.  I was so blessed to see it, and of course, it brought tears to my eyes.   I know you miss him so very much.  Aren't you glad that your Father has you in His hands and Jack too?  Only the whisper of the veil between the visible and invisible separates you and your beloved life partner.  One of these days, and it's so near, Jesus will call you, and Jack will be just on the other side, smiling and reaching for you.  The mercy of our Lord sometimes almost drowns me.

Sarah, I'm so sorry about the loss of your grampa.  I pray that you all will have the peace of Christ as you go through the funeral and say your goodbyes.  It's only goodbye for now.

      Pat

Servers had to re-boot at the Webhosters and this has to be done a few times a year so we were down during that time.  Looks like we're ok now.

      How's everyone doing?
