JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

The Mercy of God Is His Multiplied Grace

Oh how we need His mercy!

Exodus 20:6.  "For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,. visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generatiion of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandmen."

Grace is God's favor to undeserving sinners.  Mercy, on the other hand, is grace to those who ARE deserving - of everlasting wrath!  We surely do need God's grace, but even more His mercy, for we have rebelled against the only and perfectly holy Lord God. We surely deserve wrath, but His grace has been manifest toward us in giving His only begotten Son for us!

Oh may we thank Him today for His continuing mercy!

Just As I Am[/size](Click to hear the music)

Author:  Charlotte Elliott, 1789-1871
Musician:  William B. Bradbury, 1816-1868

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

Please forgive me coming in here with this NEM so late.  I didn't know I was going to do it 'til a little while ago!  And please forgive if I bonk a few people on the head by locking the previous one.  Anyway, here's a new, new one now.

Marilyn

Thanks Al for posting the devotional this morning. I am so grateful for the mercy and favor of God.

Rain again sun was short lived. I have already been cleaning my house this morning. Thought I would get it done early. I hope the rain stops for a little while this afternoon so I can walk the dogs. Actually I could put on my rain gear and walk them anyway a little rain never hurt anyone. We will see.

Pat if you look in we miss you. I hope your computer probelems are solved soon.

It is cold here today and we had to put black plastic over our flowers that we recently planted.  It is suppose to be cold all day and freeze tonight and I think tomorrow night.  I am ready for it to war up again.

Pat's aunt and cousin should be here this evening to spend a couple of days with us.  We are looking forward to their visit.

Jeanne, you might want to check out the Open Office version that works with MACs.  Here is a link that you can check out.  I think it will read MS Office documents and will save changed files back in the MS Office program formats.  It is free as it is open source.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

A dull day so far.  Like a surgeon in ICU says...dull days in ICU are great!  That's what I feel about my house and me lately.  Dull is great!  I am paranoid though.  Everytime I think I hear a noise from the basement, I have to go look!  I think it is time to get my sponge mop and try to really dry it up!  Wish the ShopVac hose was long enough!

I did get a phone call at 3:36 a.m. this morning.  Scared the daylights out of me.  I said....Hello!  This childish southern accented voice said....What's your name?  I said.....Who are you?   He said....What are you doing?   I said....You should be in bed sound asleep.  I hung up.  My heart was really racing.  No phone call at 3:36 a.m. is good news.  I have caller ID but it said Private.  If a number was on it, I was going to call that number and let the parents know what their son was up too.  Probably a slumber party or a sleep over.  Bet they will wonder why my number is on the phone bill!

Tomorrow afternoon Ivalou and I are going with some of her church members to Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, to see their Easter Pageant.  I have seen it before.  They have a website about it.  Click Southeast Christian Church to see what I will be seeing.  Also be sure an scroll down to read the 'Facts and Figures'.  Very interesting.  I think there are around 25,000 church members in this church.

We had another snow last evening.  A sleety snow.  When I took a letter to the mailbox this morning, my deck was covered with thick ice/snow.  But it should be melting now...38° F.

Thanks Al, I hope my last post didn't hurt anyone's feelings...that was certianly not my intention. I understand the complexity of the cyber world...just enough to get logged on!  ;D
Peace, Ritz. :coffee:

Thank you Al for the devotional.  I love that hymn.  Got any more?

We have a bug going on in the family.  Kassie seems to be hit the worst, then John and I.

The puppies are really great.  They know as soon as the cage door is opened they go out,  training seems to be coming easier these days, of course the warmer weather helps.

Well I am up to my elbows mending.  I won't do zippers but getting seams reinforced and such.

Bye for now I will be back.

Janet

Hmmm.........no reply button, so I discovered I wasn't logged in.  Wonder how that happened?  Oh, well, I do have a couple of grandsons here who have been using my machine.

Our ladies retreat was/is POWERFUL!!  Wow, such good preaching of the Word, and what a response!  It took an hour and a half to pray for all the women wanting prayer at this morning's service.  Praise God, I believe that is the beginning of a great revival in our area.  The speaker is staying over tonight and will be preaching in the morning service tomorrow, so the men who didn't get to hear her yet will also be blessed.

My boys thought I had abandoned them, as I didn't see them from the time I left for church yesterday evening until 1:30 this afternoon!!  I hope the next retreat will not be during spring break from school, just in case they come to spend spring break with me again next year.  And tonight, we are going to a wedding supper/celebration, and they weren't included in the invitation, so they say they want to stay here by themselves.  Justin says he will cook them a hamburger.  ;D  They are such good boys.

We are getting all the boys' clothes washed so they won't be taking dirty laundry home to Mom.  That can wait until college.

Still no report on Beth's MRI................ :-\

Pat, I hope your computer is fixed.  If not, I can do another NEM for tomorrow if you like.  And without a computer, how will you even know I offered?  So I will get one ready, and if a new one isn't done when we get home tonight, I will go ahead and post it, okay?

I have been sort of busy since I came  home from work. I made  a new version of Apple Crisp and some Spanish Rice.

Well the sun came out and went across the street to see if Bill would put the medicine in Happy's ears but He  didn't answer the door. Musat be out walking his new puppy. I willcatch him later.

Nice to see all the posts today.

Janet I have not ever been to a Ladies Retreat. When they have them for our district, last year in Sacramento, I was unable to go. Since I work 6 days per week it is hard for me to go much of anyplace.

Papa John

Well, here it is Saturday afternoon.  It has been a kind of lazy day here.  I enjoy relaxing here in the den in my recliner with Cornelia in her recliner right next to me.  It seems that each day she is able to do just a little more.  She walks to the front of the house and back again.  It did tire her out so much when she made a little walk she had to stop and rest and now she is getting stronger.

Tomorrow we are planning to take Cornelia to church.  She hasn't been out of the house, except to go to the doctor, since late January.

You have heard of the tragic shooting of a preacher in Tennessee by his wife.  Several years ago before they had any children this couple worked for the church where we worshipped.  Such a nice couple.  It is so sad.  The families involved need our prayers.

Papa John, I agree that the shooting death of that young pastor is such a tragedy.  I am wondering what in the world happened there to cause her to do such a thing.  We sure never know how other people live behind their closed doors.  I pray the three little girls' lives will not be shattered by this awful event, and am praying for the mother and the children.  It must be doubly hard for you, having known them.

We are back home after going to see my brother, his wife and their daughter who came to see Mom and my sisters.  They were in a hurry to head for home (corner of Colorado) so we took Beth by to say hello to them.  Then we went on to the wedding supper and celebration, which was quite nice.

My guys say they are more than ready to head home to Salina.  :'(  I know they miss their friends, but I will miss them when they leave tomorrow.  Mark will come pick them up in the afternoon.

I will be back in a while to open a new page for tomorrow.

Gord Brown

Hi to all I just want to let all of you that this weekend again the Lord is answering our prayers and we have a full house. Today Saturday we had missionaries who are home on furloe and go back to Caracas Venezuela in July and they went out over 16 years ago to the field it was so wonderful to here how the Lord has blessed them and there work.

Then tomorrow we have two ladies coming to stay overnight and the one lady I met when I was still drivig long distance bus and she is in her 80.s and you cant slow her down and the other lady is a personthat was witness to by this lady and got saved. So it is so great to see how the Lord is letting us use our house for him  and to be able to spend it with other Christians.

Al. Thanks for your devotional it is always encouraging.

Judy B,  Sorrow to here that you have sickness ther sure is a lot of it going around and it seems that it is all over the world. Talked to Jim the other day.  God bless.

God bless to all and have a great day in the house of the Lord.

Gord, what a blessing to be able to bless the Lord's workers with a place to stay, and in return, get to hear about their many adventures while serving the Lord.  I would love that!

Please come and join us for coffee, conversation and fellowship HERE.
