JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST

"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ...."
(2 Corinthians 5:20)

You are an ambassador for Christ! If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you have been sent to act as a representative for Him in this world. Just as nations send ambassadors to represent their interests in other countries, you've been sent here to look after the interests of the kingdom of God.

Think about that. Everywhere you go you are representing the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. That's a very high honor. It may also seem like a rather tall bill to fill. But God has equipped you to do it. He's given you His Name and the power of His Word. He's even put His very own Spirit inside you. And He's given you the ability to hear and obey the directions of that Spirit.

I heard a prophecy years ago that said there would come a time when men on the earth would walk and talk and act like God. They'd be motivated by His power and His Spirit so strongly that people would say of them, "Look at those believers. They think they're God." "No," the Holy Spirit said, "they are not God. They are agents of God, children of God, ambassadors of God, sent to do the works of God."

I believe we're living in the day and hour that prophecy was talking about. We're seeing that army of light begin to grow.

This is no time to be half-consecrated and half-dedicated. This is the time to go all the way with God, to give Him your whole life. If you'll do that, He'll give you back such anointing and such power and such glory and goodness that you'll shine for Him, as Philippians 2:15 says, as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.

Begin to think about yourself today, not as just another ordinary man or woman but as an ambassador of Almighty God. Let the interests of His kingdom be foremost in your mind and heart. Submit yourself to Him and say, "Lord, show me how to be Your representative in everything I do."

You are an ambassador for Christ. Begin to live like it today.

Good morning, friends,

I'll be on a business trip today and tomorrow. I'd appreciate a couple of prayers that I will stay well and keep a clear mind during this trip. This is my first meeting of this type where the top, top heads of a client will be there. Kinda scary for a down home Southern gal...

Y'all have a good couple of days. I most likely won't be back until Thursday.

What a great night of rest.  I needed it.  I awoke fully rested and raring to go today in whatever God has in mind for me to do.

It is bright and sunny...suppose to warm up today.  It has been way over 6 weeks since that Groundhog saw his shadow so it is time for Spring weather.  The grass is turning green.  The sod farmer is already cutting sod for all the new lawns around the new homes being built.  Birds are singing bright and early in the mornings.  The trees are budding beautifully and will soon have their new green foliage.  What a wonderful day that God has given to us to enjoy!!!

Well, I gotta see if I can see my chiropracter again this morning.  I like him very, very much, but he did something yesterday that resulted in pain half way down my right leg (the right one never even bothered me before), so I have to go back.  I'm having pain just trying to walk.
I pray I can be the "ambassador" Janet was talking bout while I'm at it.
Ruth Ann - God gave you what you have to do, so He'll also give you grace to do it.  Actually, He'll give all of us grace if we ask for it!

I am so sorry I have fallen behind in welcoming our new members.  So with that being said....

Hi Everyone...

Just getting ready to go for a doctor appointment.  I haven't been driving much at all for the last 10 weeks due to the pain in my left side but I'm going to try getting out and getting some photos very soon.

I think that the whole of Christendom is upset by what's happening in Florida and it truly is (as Janet says) disgusting.

I realize that we can't expect leaders to break the law in order to help this dear lady but it is exasperating.  Do you agree?

I know that if is was my daughter, Janice, I'd be doing absolutely everything possible to save her from this terrible end.

Marilyn, I'm so happy that you have this new position.  I do pray that it will be satisfying to you.

I'll be back folks.  Have to leave the house very soon.

Pat

Pastoral Ministry: What a Great Responsibility!

For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?
--Revelation 6:17

What a great responsibility God has laid upon us preachers of His
gospel and teachers of His Word. In that future day when God's wrath
is poured out, how are we going to answer? How am I going to answer?
I fear there is much we are doing in the name of the Christian
church that is wood, hay and stubble destined to be burned up in
God's refining fire. A day is coming when I and my fellow ministers
must give account of our stewardship:

What kind of a gospel did we preach?

Did we make it plain that men and women who are apart from Christ
Jesus are lost?

Did we counsel them to repent and believe?

Did we tell them of the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit?

Did we warn them of the wrath of the Lamb--the crucified,
resurrected, outraged Lamb of God?

With that kind of accounting yet to come, the question John hears
from the human objects of God's wrath is especially significant:
"Who can stand?" (6:17). Who indeed?  Jesus Is Victor!, 108.

"Lord, how am I going to answer?"

Great Devotional

Marilyn it was good that you spoke up about caregivers let the ones doing the taking try doing what you are trained to do. Your talent is a gift from God.

About what is going on in Florida I am doing my best not to even listen to the news as the case is so disturbing.

Welcome to all of the new comers.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We have a most glorious day here in Georgia after a very rainy and cold couple of days.  We have the door open as it is over 70 degrees.  Unfortunately the air smells of the weed killer that the lawn people put on our lawn today to get rid of the weeds.  The sun has been brightly shining all day.

This was our spring registration at the computer learning center.  We had a good turnout.  I didn't have an assigned responsibility but met with a couple of other folks to do some planning for our computer user group for the summer.   I have not been feeling very good the last couple of days and when I got home I ate a quick bite of lunch and laid down for about 2 1/2 hours.  Hope to be feeling much better tomorrow.  Fortunately the only thing on the schedule tomorrow is choir practice, although I plan to go early as the man who sits beside me recently returned from a 10 day mission trip to India and he is giving a presentation on the experience.

Pat, I agree with your comments that we cannot expect our President or the governor of Florida to act outside the law in the TS case.  Unfortunately this tragic event has become a media circus and a political football.  It is hard to understand why the husband is so insistent when the parents are willing to assume the responsibility.

Going to be brief today as just not up to writing very much.  Hope everyone has a nice day.  Janet, thanks for the devotional thought.

Pat

Let's all sing.  This isn't one that's too familiar to me but I really like the melody.  The words are good.

Sooner or Later
(Click to hear music)

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Revelation 3:20

Words and Music by Lula W. Koch, 1892 - ?

Sooner or later the skies will be bright,
Tears will be all wiped away; (away;)
Sooner or later, then cometh the light,
Night will be turned into day (glad day)

Refrain
Sooner or later cares will have flown,
Sunshine and gladness we'll see; -
Sooner or later God calleth His own,
With Him forever to be.

Sooner or later, our Lord knows the hour,
He'll send His beloved Son (His Son;)
Sooner or later, in His might and pow'r
Our battles all will be won (be won.)

Refrain

Sooner or later, yes, sooner for some,
Darkness will all then be past; (be past;)
Sooner or later our Saviour will come -
With Him will your lot be cast? (be cast?)

Refrain

Words are lovely Pat.  I've never heard this before.  You come up with such appropriate hymns!
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Janet

Hi there, Judy!  Are you home now?  I think I owe you an email reply, but was waiting for you to get back home.

We went to Amarillo again today, had a very pleasant day, as the weather was beautiful, and we (just Darrel and I) had such a good visit driving along.

Larry, I hope you feel stronger tomorrow.  You too, Pat.

I think it was good for me to be away from the news for a day.  It's really getting to the point of overload, and so frustrating because prayer is the only weapon we have to try to help.  Of course, prayer is the very best and most powerful thing there is.

Gotta weed out some more email!

I'm not sure if you heard this - but on CNN tonight, it was reported that Rev. Jerry Falwell is in very serious condition in hospital with respiratory arrest.  He had pneumonia a few weeks ago., and now this.

Regardless of how some feel about him, I respect and admire what he has accomplished with the Moral Majority., and the Liberty Godparent home, where hundreds of babies had a chance at life, being placed in loving Christian homes.

Hi Janet:  I've been busy, trying to get caught up here in C.P.  I've been wondering how our Beth is doing....and also John's Mom.
