JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Brethren. . . this one thing I do.
Philippians 3:13

Priorities.

Originally it was only used in singular form, priority. Makes sense, doesn't it? When you have more than one priority it no longer takes priority but soon becomes a juggling act.

How many of us know all about that!

What was Paul's priority? He pressed on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Everything in his life was with this one, single, glorious, priority in full and constant view. He could say, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."

What's your priority?

No juggling, please!
--Rex Trogdon

Have ye counted the cost,
have ye counted the cost,
ye warriors of the cross?
Are ye fixed in heart
for your Master's sake,
to suffer all earthly loss?

Jane Walker, that is great news that your grandson Tim is back from Iraq!  I know you are so happy.

Pat, I hope your cold is better by now.  Did you find the Zicam that the others were telling about?  Take care of yourself, lots of fluids and plenty of rest.  (Everyone is the expert in telling you what to do!  :-)
Hope you don't mind.

Marilyn, I know what BPV is, have had that off and on for 25 years or so.  It can be very bad, I have to keep my head level and straight forward or I am asking for problems!  Like some other chronic ailments which I have, I have learned what to do or not do in order to avoid it getting bad again.  I hope you have relief from it soon.  Mine will come and go regardless, sometimes.

We had a great day at church, our pastor has begun a series on the Seven Last Words of Christ.  Today it was on "Father forgive them....."  This is all leading up to Easter of course.

It seems like the only time I can manage to get here is late at night.  I really have my hands full, being caretaker, sort of, to two people.  Hubby has had fibrillation again, and is now taking warfarin.  That takes a long time to get settled in on the correct dosage.  I have had a time getting prescriptions refilled - what with the drug store and the insurance - red tape!  "Why are you asking for this refill early?"  I just told you, the doctor has increased his dosage 3 times...."Well the insurance won't cover it until next Wednesday"...gives me a headache sometimes, dealing with all this.

We thought we were about to lose his sister in the nursing home, she has had so many health concerns the last 2 1/2 months.  She was in hospital, etc.  She is somewhat better now, hope she will continue this well.  I have been doing her laundry and ironing these 3 years.  There is more of it now as she has become incontinent.  Also I do shopping for her when she needs something, and now I am taking care of her business.  She got so confused she couldn't handle it.

You all have a good day.  It is still 3/07  here, but will soon be tomorrow, so I better get to bed.
G'Night!  Love, Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

A lovely sunny morning here today, though still icily cold.

Pat "Warriors" fits the theme today as I had in mind Tim when I logged on this morning.

Janice God bless you for noticing re Tim.  I have come on especially this morning to praise and thank God for bringing Jane's Grandson Tim home safely from Iraq.

Lord Jesus,
Thank-You and praise You for bringing Tim home to his family in safety.  Please bring Bryan safely home and the other boys also. Amen
.

Soldiers of Christ arise
and put your armour on,
strong in the strength which God supplies
through His eternal Son;
strong in the Lord of Hosts
and in His mighty power;
who in the strength of Jesus trusts
is more than conqueror.

Stand then in His great might,
with all His strength endued;
and take, to arm you for the fight,
the panoply of God.
Leave no unguarded place,
no weakness of the soul:
take every virtue, every grace,
and fortify the whole.

From strength to strength go on;
wrestle, and fight, and pray;
tread all the powers of darkness down,
and win the well-fought day,-
that, having all things done,
and all your conflicts passed,
you may o'ercome through Christ alone,
and stand entire at last."

Charles Wesley (1707-1788).

GOOD MORNING ALL 11.11AM in Holland

PAT thank you for the devotional this morning and the very nice hymn yesterday

but now it was to busy.I am tired

When someone is sending a mail to mail before i get the mail my provider is scanning the mail. The last
1 1/2 week i have had 5 messages from my provider
that they have destroyed the mails because there was in the Netsky virus. Yesterday late in the evening when we are coming home i have take a look in my mail box
but again two messages from my provider that there has been twice a mail with here in a message that there have been again mails with The Netsky virus

But that virus is terrible i have just scanned my computer but no virussen my provider also say make not open envelopes because that can they not control

My son Marcel has flu he is home not at work.
My husband must today to the hospital for his snoring

Pray on,then child of God, pray on;
This is your duty and your task.

Dear Ria

I get these warnings too from my provider AOL.  They say "unless you know the person who sent this we advise do not open it." AOL is an excellent provider.

I open if I know the person.

I had crashes last year on this "puter" but I use McAfee now and Stinger and Ad Aware., also I have just downloaded Spy Ware Blaster, a brilliant, fully recommended freebie.  I have double checked sister and my computer is clear. We still have to be vigilant.

When I had the crashes I was using Panda ant-virus ...that is an anti-virus that abolutely messes up your files...ouch!!! It clings to everything and it takes a lot of hard work to get rid of.

Hope you get this problem explained dear sister.

Love Jenny  :)

JudyB

I am reposting this post, I would like to make sure I gave the correct answer!

The last hymn we sang in church today was I Surrender All.  After the last prayer, a lady asked me this question.

"When we surrender all to Christ, do we also surrender our depression and lack of focus too?"

My answer was "Yes!"

Any comments?

JudyB

Ria. I too have been receiving Viruses in the mail, but, the virus detection programs I have keep them out.  This is a good thing.  I use Norton and McAfee as well as a fire wall called BlackIce.  Then to top that off I have a mail washer which deletes any spam I want deleted..  The bad mail I was getting is no longer coming in.

Pat Thankyou for playing that hymn for me last night.

Morning Jenny!  Howdy sis.

I am off to a friends home, I do her laundry which is a problem for her as she teaches Melaura French.  We have a good time with all the kids!

Jane I am so happy for you that your grandson is coming home.  There is rejoicing in the family today!

Well I had best run and will be back tonight.

Love JudyB

Al Moak

I believe we must surrender all when we say we surrender all.  It simply means that we are totally willing to submit to His Lordship alone.  That would include any depression or lack of focus.  It must include ALL.

Pat

Hi Judy...

I think you gave the lady the correct reply.  It's what I would have told her.

Oh, Hi Al!  I took so long to post that you got in there too.  How are you today?

Chris and Margit, tell us all about your wedding anniversary!  What are you doing to celebrate?

I saw you on line.

"Warm fuzzies" to you.  ;) Hope that cold is better today dear.

Love Jenny.

Etta Sue

Good morning.

Great to see Janice posting.  You take care.  Don't wear yourself out being the caregiver.

And what wonderful news, Jane.  I know you are breathing a sigh of relief just knowing Tim is on home ground again.

I tried all afternoon yesterday to use peoplepc as an ISP to see if I like it.  It is cheaper than core.com.  But I couldn't get it to download the software.  I even have the CD but that wouldn't work either.  I called them.  They said it is my virus detector.  I disenabled it and it still doesn't work.  Does any of you guru's have an ideas of what to do?

Since Jerry's neurologist cancelled and rescheduled his appointment a few days back, we are going today.  I don't relish driving in Indy but hopefully and prayerfully, it won't be bad.  My driving seems more confident since I have gotten new glasses.  It does help to see while driving.... ::) ::) :o

Hi Kim!

Lovely to see your photo there.

You're still a llama!  You know you can remove that!  LOL

You have one of my favourite verses in your signature.  I remember in highschool, using the old Inter-Varsity hymn book for our Bible Club, number 160 was based on this verse.  It was lovely to sing.

Kim

I was wondering what a llama was!  :D

Pat

Wait till Lee gets here!  He'll tell you about llamas.  He has one or two of them.  They spit.

(The software that CP uses puts that in there automatically for all new people but you can go into your preferences and change that to maybe where you live or something like that or the kind of camera you use.)

Hi everyone.  We have a beautiful and sunny day here in Georgia but it is also windy and chilly.  We had some strong winds last evening but the power only flickered.  Some folks around the city lost their power and I hear that North Carolina was hit hard with wind damage.  I got up early this morning and did my walking at the "Y" for today.  Papa John, I am like you in that my heart doctor wants me to walk each day that I can.  I like to get it done early in the day.  The housekeeper is here today so we will have a shiny clean house by noon time.  I am taking the Saturn to the dealer for its 60,000 mile service, which is the last I have under the extended warranty.  This is going to be a pretty busy week as have something on the schedule everyday this week.

Jane, certainly good news to hear that your grandson is home from Iraq and know you are counting the weeks until the other grandson gets back as well.

Ria, sorry to hear that your son has the flu and do hope it is of short duration.  Has your husband ever tried the Breathe Right nose strips at night?  My wife uses those every night as she has sleep apnea but can no longer use the machine that she used for about 8 years as the air from it was affecting her eyes.

Happy Anniversary Chris and Margit and welcome to CP lmaupin.

Etta Sue, it sounds like Marilyn gave you good advice in terms of disabling the firewall while you install the software.  You could reboot into safe mode and do the install that way as well.

Jenny, I had not heard of the Spy Ware Blaster software but do use the Ad Aware software and Spybot and they do a good job.  My ISP also scans e-mail for virus and I often get messages about an e-mail having been deleted.  My AVG Anit-Virus also scans both incoming and outgoing e-mails.

Soni, your sing along with other churches sounds like a very good things.

Janice, you certainly have your hands full as a caregiver and helper.  The medication your husband is taking is a very strong drug.  It is really something when we humans have to take as medication the same compound that is used in rat poisoning, but of course, most medicines are poisons, or at least that is what I understand.  Do hope they are able to get the medication adjusted soon for your husband.

Guess I had better signoff for now and get busy with some other things before I have to leave to take my car to the dealer.
