Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

  • Songs of Worship  Next time you want to read a Psalm, read one of Pastor Al's devotional on it as well.

Morning Devotional...

He is altogether lovely.
Song of Solomon 5:16

Not just lovely "all together," but in every detail. He bears scrutiny. All
that is found in the Lord Jesus is lovely to God and lovely to His people.

A botanist, through his microscope, once showed to the humble shepherd something of the detailed beauty of the heather bell. Overcome by its amazing intricacy, perfection and beauty, the shepherd wept and was heard to say, "Just to think, I trampled it."

May we always elevate Him through our words and deeds!
--J. Strahan

Purer than any dewdrop, whiter than driven snow,
Fresh from the clouds of heaven, carried by winds that blow,
In Him no trace of defilement, perfect in all His ways,
Sinless and spotless and holy through all His earthly days.

Today is a special day for my B.W.  She is now as old as I am.  (At least she will be at midnight.)

I won't tell you her age but she qualifies for Medicare now.

Pat, little Elsie is now TWO years old, not five!  ;)  Thought you might want to correct that in the above link.

Ed........hmmmm........now, how many years young would that make her ???  ;)  When I had "that" birthday, my husband told folks I was "on the Government payroll now."  :)

Can anyone tell me how to not feel guilty for feeling relieved that the doctor told me I can't do all I have been doing?  And we still do not have reliable help for Beth.  I'm hoping that by the time she gets out of the hospital again, we will have someone lined up to help her on whom we can depend.  :-\

Marilyn, glad you had fun with the kids today.  I look forward to seeing your photos.

Pat the devotional reminded me of the experience of a nephew of mine who was questioning things about God at one time.  He was outdoors, walking around and mulling over in his mind about life, creation, etc.  He sat down on the ground, absently pulled some blades of grass and sat examining them.  Then he thought...man can make something that LOOKS like grass, maybe even FEELS like grass, but he cannot make it GROW.  And through that experience his faith was strengthened and he grew closer to the Lord.  He was killed in an accident a few years later, and this little story was told at his funeral service.

I GOT MY NEW CAMERA TODAY! :) :) :) 8) ::)  I just got the battery charged up, so tomorrow I will experiment with it a little bit.  It's a Kodak P850 with a 12X zoom.  I surely hope I will like it.  I have SO missed having a camera.  Well, we have several film cameras, but I missed my digital.

Time to pop a pill and hit the hay.  I think after about 4 or 5 more good nights of sleep, I will feel human again!

Janet you have no reason to feel guilty.  You have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Rest in the Lord and allow Him to heal your body (tiredness) and spirit.  He is able.

There is so much sadness in the world.  Sometimes wonder how to cope.  One thing I know. Our Lord is holding us in His hand and there we will remain.

God bless all of you and may you feel His presence.

Good Night

Judy

Pat:  Thank you for devotions again.  It just shows that we need to look closely at what is happening around us to understand the big picture.

Jeanne Lee:  Nice to see your post.  How are you doing?

JudyB:  We need to be reminded not to feel guilty so often.  Thank you for your post.

You are right Carol about guilt.  How often do we continue to beat ourselves up over an infraction or sin that we have committed.  We have gone to Father and confessed and repented yet we continue to beat ourselves up.  At times like that I turn to John 3:17

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (KJV)

So the condemnation and guilt we feel is not from our Lord, rather from our enemy.  As that sinks into our consciousness our relationship with our Lord becomes even sweeter.

This is turning out to be a beautiful day. The sun is shining and the rain has gone.  We have a problem with our lawn tractor.  There is a hammering at the front of the engine.  I have had a small engine guy that we know take a look, and I thinkk he is not looking forward to taking the engine apart.  I am going to put some new Gas into the tank and see if it is the old gas that is causing the problem.  Don't ask why this would make a difference, I really don't know but that is the first thing he wants me to try.

Rick is becomming increasingly bitter.  He is blamng God that his dad is suffering.  As he puts it, "Dad doesn't deserve this." I have pointed out to him that Jesus didn't deserve to die on the cross for us either.  I have told him to go to his Dad and let him see his (Rick's) heart, and see what Dad says.  Rick's dad is a wonderful Christian Man.  Please pray for the family and Rick

I am continuing in prayer for the other needs here at CP.

Have a good day folks, and feel His Presence during this day.

Janet

What a relief it is to have this place where we can pour out our hearts, and folks will understand, care and pray.  I feel it is a safe horbor from the many problems in the world.  I love you all.

I am going to ride down to Hugoton with Pat, she is going to Yardmaster to buy plants for around the church, and I will get a chiropractic adjustment in hopes that will stop the headaches I have been having.  I know it is mainly stress, but my neck feels stiff, and I don't want to head to Amarillo hurting.

This afternoon I need to pick up Beth's commodities, then this evening is our Mother-Daughter banquet at the Senior center.  Diane and Abby are coming  :) and I will also be taking Beth.  It is always a special time, and they are promising that this year's entertainment will be extra good.  :)

Talk to you wonderful people later.

Pat, thanks again for the morning devotions.  I especially liked the quote at the beginning by George Whitefield.  I never heard it expressed in those exact words.  I printed it out on a card do keep on my desk as a reminder from time to time.

It is a cloudy, overcast day here in Ohio.  So, I'll keep on more inside lights to overcome the "gloom".

My thoughts and prayers are for all of you, for all of us humans need God's help in one way or another.

Just for fun I voted for that photo #11 - he really made me smile.  :)

Well it's gray and cool this morning, and that's the way it's supposed to be for the next week or so.  But may all of us who love our Lord find it bright and shining in His house this week!

Janet, I'm glad you're getting some rest.  My doctor gave me Ambien awhile back.  I take it only when I've days of not getting good sleep.  I don't want to depend on it, but it does give me a good night's sleep.

I think we always feel guilty when we can't be everything and all to our loved ones who can't care for themselves.  But the truth is, we are not everything and all.   You can't make your body do more than it can.  In fact, you already know this.......our body begins to "act out", trying to send you that message.  I know you would do everything and more for your Beth, and have...but what you can't do, you can't do.  You want to be there for her, so have to take good care of yourself to do that.  I'm praying you find the person to care for her if she continues to live in her own place.  Whatever happens, you have done everything for her with everything you have.  Believe the doctor.  You can't do it anymore.  It's hard when a chapter closes.  You as Beth's primary caregiver has ended.  A new chapter in the book of Janet's life in Christ has began. :)  Rejoice and trust God.  He loves Beth more than you ever could.  You are both His.

We have so much wind today.  Nice sunshine, but the wind keeps us inside.  The Oregon coast....we do have our wind. :)  But, oh, the lovely days we have also.

I'll be 65 in October, so I'm beginning to get calls (and even a drop by visit)from people wanting to sell me supplemantal ins.  I have ChampVa, so don't need to purchase more.   I think our names get put on a "ATTENTION: Turning 65" list.

Well, I just wanted to check in and say hello while seeing how you all are doing.   Nita

I love these temperature icons.

Good Evening (in the voice of Alfred Hitchcock)- Do y-all remember how he started his program way back there in time?

I have been busy in PSP since I got home from work, creating new stationery, resizing and posting some photos on flickr (Yahoo) in the Older Photographers group. Then I had to make a sign for the Kingdom Kafe at church. We have coffee, tea or hot chocolate and bagels every Sunday morning before Sunday School.  :coffee:

I am glad that Etta Sue got her log in problem solved. You get some rest Etta Sue after your long day today. Sure was nice talking to you on YIM. :yakyakyak:

I have an early day tomorrow only because I can't have any coffee before we go to the graduation, I think ya know why.   I have to pick up Jan at 7:15 she wants to go real early to make sure we get her in there in the wheel chair the school is  providing.  8)

I am back home from a very rainy two days going to and coming from Grand Rapids.  Not hard rains but constant!  And cold??  Let me tell you how cold it was in Michigan....BBBBBBBbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Yes!! I have DSL!  Yes!! I can get on CP!!  Yes!!! It wasn't as easy as 1-2-3 getting an account set up with my DSL!  The disc would do what it should and ended up calling 3 different numbers and waiting on 3 different people to talk to.  Finally a guy named Carrington...isn't that a regal name?....walked me through on the internet and got everything set up.  And would you believe there was already a user name of ettasue and etta taken at earthlink?  Then I was blocking cookies and ended up not getting emails.  Then I had to go to bed so I could stay awake to drive to Grand Rapids.

I talked to Tony and he told me to 'restore' when I got back home.  I did and everything is great now.  I LOVE this faster service.

So sorry to hear of everyone's bad news, bad times, illnesses and all.  God loves you!

Tomorrow I go to the Indiana Historical Society to receive my second place award....maybe I should take my wheelbarrow to carry all that money back home, hunh?
