JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Soni - I love the family portrait.  Wish more of our members would post their family photos!

Marilyn - Where is Gilbert and family moving to?  I hope they will still be nearby.  Our kids are at least a 4 hour drive from us., and it gets very lonely here sometimes.  Its times like this when I wish the kids were around.

Ruth Ann:  How are you feeling today?

I'm missing Papa John and Iain....has anyone heard from Iain lately?  Seems like an awfully long time since we have heard from him.

Jeanne:  I would have LOVED to have heard Gene's testimony!

Acts 1:9-10
9   After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
10   They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.

Soni:

Thanks for asking...my arm is feeling some better.  Last night, Norm took the cast off for me., and I was able to wash it (my arm that is...lol)., and because it was so itchy., and driving me crazy., I put some cortisone cream on it.  Feels better now.

Norm should have been a doctor.  He put the cast on better than the doctor did!

Thank you Pat, and from all the members of C.P., for the annivesary wishes.

When Norm and I married, we were so young...19 and 21.  So many people said "it will never last".  Well, here we are, forty-six years later.  We thank the Lord and Him only for getting us through all the rough times

Such is true of all relationships - marital or not - if both allow the Lord to guide and lead, the relationship stands the test of time.

My college roommate and I were discussing that we've known each other longer than almost any others on the face of the earth. We have been friends for 46 years.

We spent the day together yesterday - she is now a double amputee, and it was so good to be able to take her out and just "do things" like the bank, the grocery, and eating out. I had awakened dizzy, but the medication helped yesterday.

Today, it's been around all day. So, I'm grateful tht my friend I were able to be together yesterday. We had planned this outing for about a month.

Y'all have a wonderful day in the Lord.

Ruth Ann

I got my Newsletter.  BTW, they aren't my graphics...some that I copped from an email.  But they made me smile when I looked at them and thought CPers would smile when looking at them also.

Jane ~ So sorry to hear of your church closing.  Uh, you have relatives not far from me.  Move to Indiana and go to church with me!!!  How is that for an invite?

It has been a very long day.  We got up at 6 a.m. and got to church a little after 8 a.m.  I printed the labels for the audio cassettes and then left the rest for Jerry to do while I went up in the mezzanine to man the lights.  The praise team did a powerful job today with the music.  I don't think it was possible for anyone to stand still while singing or listening to the music.  Awesome job!  After the second service, we went into this huge room...bigger than my house, for sure.  We had lunch of pizza, chips, snack cakes and drinks.  Then the 'lesson' was called 'Introduction To Our Church Family....Class 101'.  Literally it told about Park Chapel Christian Church and our Salvation (what God has done for us), our Statements (Why we exist as a church), our Strategy (How we fulfill our purpose) and our Structure (When and where we fulfill our purpose).  I have been going to PCCC over 6 years and I learned a lot today about PCCC.  Very interesting.  Well, the 'lesson' was long...about 4 hours...so Jerry and I ate dinner out and came home.  It was 6 p.m.  A very long fulfilling day.

Julie and Dennis worked on the yard this afternoon.  They aren't done yet...maybe will be back tomorrow.

Is there anyone at all who did NOT receive their May Newsletter?

Papa John

Judy Mc, it is true that I didn't get in here yesterday.  Well, I did come in and read but didn't post.

Today we had a good day at church.  After the morning worship we had a delicious dinner in our fellowship hall.  This afternoon when we got home I took a good nap.  I got on line and was getting ready to write something and Cornelia said, "It is time to go to church."  Well again tonight we had a good evening service.

Anyway I am here now.  I did just have time to check out Pat's question.  And now Pat comes up with another question and the answer is here:

1 Sam 7:1-2
1   So the men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD. They took it to Abinadab's house on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to guard the ark of the LORD.
2   It was a long time, twenty years in all, that the ark remained at Kiriath Jearim, and all the people of Israel mourned and sought after the LORD.  (NIV)

In our Sunday School lesson this morning we looked at I Corinthians 13, which has to be one of the favorite chapters in the Bible.

CHAPTER 13

1   Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2   And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3   And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4   Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5   does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6   does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7   bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8   Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
9   For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
10   But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
11   When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12   For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
13   And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Ruthie

Well Papa John has the right answer for both quizzes.   Next time I will look up the answer in the Bible and not just think about it in my head.   haha

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Ruthie

Thank you for that lovely song Pat, "Be Glorified"   We sing it at Peoples

Tonight Pastor Charles Price was interviewing different people who were involved in "going out to the streets and witnessing and handing out sandwiches and tacts"  during the missionary conference.  There were some wonderful testimonies of how God blessed people out on the streets.

I think a lot of people will want to get into EE to be trained to talk to people now.

Time for bed.   Have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Ruthie

By the way,   I was thinking of getting a white flowering crab apple tree, but now I'm not too sure.   Pat was saying that sometimes they attract the bugs and worms.   Yuk!  I would have to do a lot of spraying.    I guess I should rethink this.

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1
