Well what a great discussion in here today.
Mieka....it is good that you come in here to ask these questions...if you do not ask.....how will you find out the answer?
It also puts us on our toes to help you find that answer as well as confirming in our own hearts what God has done for us and given to us.....His precious Son Jesus Christ....Who died on the cross in our place.....for we are all sinners and undeserving of this gift...no one is worthy...but He loved us and wishes that none should perish...not even one.....and gives them plenty of opportunity to come to Him through His son...and yes....there are those who do not wish to accept this precious costly gift.....oh sad that must be....

I received an email this morning from Jissup requesting urgent prayer for a friend of hers here in California. I posted it in the Prayer section and it really is urgent that some prayers begin to go up for the lady who has only 2-3 days to live. and for her daughter. I posted the whole letter from Jissup there. check it out.

I have had a busy day and find myself tired tonight so am going to make this short, at least for me.  It has been a great discussion yesterday and today based on the question asked by Mieka.  I have nothing to add to what has been so well said.

Pat has called supper so will signoff for tonight.  

  It is a wonderful day in here today, for me. I hope I am not too much trouble at times.

Mr Moak I thank you for your new words. I think I undarstand them well. I was a sinner before I was born, yes? and that is why it is such a gift that God might allow me to go back to be with him in heaven, yes?

Mr Anthony Your words are of much help to me today too. Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else."

???So Jesus is also found in God, yes? If I find God, I have found Jesus too? and Jesus is the only way to God, If I have not yet found God. I think I undarstand.

Ms Jane Walker, your words are a help to me too, I thank you for them. I have always thought there is a plan for me. I have try to stay on his path.

So if Jesus said if I do it unto the least of these my brother, ye have done it unto me.
and if Jesus is Love.
then those who do not know his name may have "found Jesus" through the kindness and Love they share with the least of these brothers? yes?
Or must they know the name of Jesus to be saved?

Thanks everyone for all of the ideas and replies to our Mieka's question...

Yes, Mieka, everyone was born a sinner.  The verse in Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

And we must reach a point where we repent of all of our past sins and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to be our Saviour.  

When this happens, it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17   "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

And let me assure you, Mieka, it's a wonderful life.  The Lord Jesus is the best friend I have and ever will have and as a widow, I really need to have a friend like Him.

If someone was offering you a gift, if you didn't take it from the person, you wouldn't have it.  Well, the Lord Jesus is offering you the most wonderful gift and it's a ticket to Heaven where we'll be so happy to worship Him for eternity BUT if we don't take this gift, it's not ours!  We won't get to heaven any other way.  There is no other way!  And he made this possible by giving His only son as it says in John 3:16...  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  NOT ONE OF US deserve this wonderful gift.  We aren't worthy of it but through Him we can accept it and become one of His own.

I hope I haven't further confused you as I am not the greatest at explaining things!


Now, I must go and do some errands.  The dog wants to go with me.

It's been sort of an overcast day here today and I had a headache so I lay down this afternoon for a nap!  (I felt like a "senior"!  HAHAHAHA)  

Good evening everyone!  It has been a cold breezy, windy, dismal, cloudy, rainy day today.  I had the A/C on this morning but now I have the furnace on.  Typical spring weather.  

I have been hunting this house high and low for some pictures that are in an envelope.  I can't remember where I put them.  I have looked in spots that hasn't been looked in for a year and a half.  I almost shut Ali in a closet  more than once.    If she hadn't have cried, I would have closed the door on her.  But Mom used to say....go to bed, pray and tomorrow you will find them.  I will find them or at least, remember where I put them tomorrow!  God is good.

What wonderful answers to Mieka's question.  This is good that we have someone here that asks questions to make us think and learn.  We are never too old to learn.

Now, my own question.....Where did the word 'Easter' come from?  How did the word 'Easter' come about for the resurrection of Christ?  I am just wondering.

I'll say an early good night.  It's been so beautiful today, with sunshine everywhere.

It's also been a sad day for me.  I gave my 6 month old Golden Retreiver away today.  I didn't know how hard that would be.  She was just more than I could take care of.  Her vet assured me that it wasn't my fault and not Katie's.......that she was just too much dog for me.   Her siblings are normal Golden's.....but Katie is an alpha....and large for her age.  When I made the decision to let her go, I spent the day in tears.  And today, she left to go to a home with two other Goldens, 6 acres, two kids, and people with the energy to take care of her.

 I know it was right...but it doesn't stop the sadness.  I've been crying all day.  

   I drove around some......to get away from the house after Katie left, and took some pictures.  I'll see if they are worth posting.

 PS.......Hi, Jerry.  Did I trip you?  We came in at almost the same time.

Oh Nita - I know that feeling.  When I was just a teenager I had to give my Cocker away.  We gave her to a farmer with lots of room, etc. too.  But I sure missed her.  We lived in the city, and it was quite inappropriate to have her there.  God bless you and supply all your need.

Pat ~ Thank you! gosh with all the hugs I feel so warm and loved.

Nita ~ I know how you feel. I had to leave seven of my cats at the farm for the new owner when I left, but I couldn't find anyone to take my two year old golden retreiver so I had to have him put to sleep. I still miss him yet today and wish I would have been able to have kept him.

Yesterday I thought I'd get started a little earlier and turned on the computer all ready to come here and catch up.  Before I could even get here the beautiful sunshine disappeared behind big black clouds and suddenly I saw a flash and then heard loud thunder.  So...  not only did things get turned off, but plugs got pulled.  So much for an early start!.

By the time the storms had passed I had managed to sleep through most of President Bush's speech and could still hardly keep my eyes open.  

The last couple of days have brought some wonderful thoughts and  scripture verses about salvation.  How wonderful that we can come here and express our opinions and beliefs without fear of recrimination or ciritcism by loving friends, and learn from those more mature in Christ!

Hello everyone! I've been enjoying reading the devotionals and all the messages here in your new home, but my login wouldn't "take" so I couldn't post.  After a chat with Pat I tried clicking on "forever" and it worked! I had been checking off the login for 60 minutes but apparently that one doesn't work.

Sonja - I'm sorry to hear about Travis' illness. Chron's  is not an easy disease to live with.  He's lucky to have a Mom who will help him with his diet. And aren't we lucky to have so much information available to us on the internet?

Most of the rest of your faces I already know. Nita probably doesn't know me but I have heard so much about her. (All of it good!)  

Larry - That is scary about those dogs. Last night on the Orlando, FL news there was a story about a pack of dogs tearing through the screen on someone's lanai. They killed the woman's pet Siamese cats.

The next few days are going to be very warm here..............in the 90s. We played golf today but our tee time wasn't till 5:00 so it had started to cool off a little. Last night we played bocce ball. This retirement life is tough.
