JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

If anyone saw Charles Stanley this weekend--during his message, he mentioned a song.

Can't remember it but if anyone knows please let me know.

I wanted Pat to post it.

It was so good.

Sorry that I can not type anymore; I just posted about my neighbor in Prayers and I am still quite shaken.

Please take care and as always,

Love in Christ,

Joyce

By the way,  43 years ago; I was married less than two years with one daughter.

My hubby had that serious motorcycle accident I had mentioned previously and

by the grace of God; he recovered and we went on to have another child, my son.

Praise the Lord that I was not made to carry on alone because it was my hubby prodding me along to "grasp
the good LORD's love and become born again.

Thanks for reminding me of that --I solely need it today.

Love in Christ,

Joyce

43 years ago today, Donna & I were stationed with the US Army at Ft Ord, Calif (Monterey Peninsula) and our first born son would be born next month.

We were very young and very much in love, yet
really really homesick.

We looked forward to becoming parents, yet we knew nothing about partenthood.

Your wedding pictures reminded me of the wedding dress style from that era.  And both you and Jack look very much in love......

That is what I was doin' 43 yrs ago.

JOYCE:  As for Chas Stanley www.intouch.org will take you there and you should be be to get back to last weeks program and listen for the song.

Thanks, Eddie,

I was just telling Karmet in the other forum (Manna for the Soul)about Charles Stanley and giving her the website.

I just had a senior moment and forgot myself; so I will head
there now.

I really need to hear his comforting words at this time.

Love in Christ,

Joyce

I must say that you've all made my heart smile with the memories you've had (or not had) of 43 years ago today.  43 years ago today at about this time of day, we were on our way to our honeymoon spot where we were going to be for the weekend.

The night before the wedding, my father was driving me down to the church for the rehearsal and he gave me a verse.  He said, "Patsy, this is a verse that I've tried to remember during my years of married life with Mum.  It hasn't always been so but most of the time, we tried to do what this verse says..."...let not the sun go down upon your wrath:" (Eph. 4:26).  I thanked Dad.

Then the wedding rehearsal took place and after it was over, the pastor took Jack and I aside and said that he'd like to leave a special verse with us.  It was "...let not the sun go down upon your wrath:"!!!

My brother and his wife "kidnapped" us and drove us all the way to our honeymoon spot near Lindsay, Ontario and the owner of the lodge had a lovely late supper prepared for us both.  He was a retired missionary and he and his wife had opened up this place.  And we were the only guests as the season hadn't opened yet.

After we had our strawberry shortcake and refreshments, he came over to the table and sat down and talked to us for awhile and then said that he'd like to leave a verse with us on such a lovely occasion of our wedding...

Yes, you guessed it.

It was the same verse...  "...let not the sun go down upon your wrath:"

Wonderful, wonderful memories!  I have enjoyed reading them all.

I'm off to piano recital.

I also loved the time to sit and reflect today. Pat, while Jack is gone from this earth, he's alive and waiting for you "over there" and also he's very much alive in your memories and those you've shared with us.

It's so good to see everyone and our newbies, too!

Papa John

Pat, I have enjoyed the stories today and your comments about your wedding etc.  Cornelia and I were married 55 years ago the 1st of July.  It is hard to realize that so much time has gone by.  And then I think that our Beth, our first born, will be 54 this August.

I love the song: VICTORY IN JESUS

QuoteI heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing, And the old, redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

It is good to have seen each one of you today.  Have a good rest tonight.

Pat, that was a wonderful story.  Thanks for sharing that.  Sounds like you had a wonderful family!

The things kids will say:

Chandraya danced at the Old Folks home today.
She had mentioned that a girl didn't show up to the dance and I told her that this other little girl didn't want to come because she was afraid of the old folks.  Chandraya looked at me in a confused state and said, "Do you think she is afraid of her Grandma too?"  I had do laugh. :D  I told her I wasn't sure.  She walked off and started to play with her friends.

Just stopping in for a moment toread theposts and tell you that I posted some photos in the "where we live thread and some pictures in the PSP thread.

I have enjoyed reading all the memories today and what everyone was doing 43 years ago today.

I have to get my car fixed, I think it is just the 2 radiator hoses, at least that's what I am praying for it to be andnothing more, it is also time for an oil change. I need to see if I can find someone to do is for next to nothing as the parts are all I can afford at this time. Al know anybody?

Wonderful Grace of Jesus
(Click to hear music)

"The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you."
Romans 16:20

Words and music by Haldor Lillenas

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Greater than all my sin;
How shall my tongue describe it,
Where shall its praise begin?
Taking away my burden,
Setting my spirit free;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Refrain
Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus,
Deeper than the mighty rolling sea;
Wonderful grace, all sufficient for me, for even me.
Broader than the scope of my transgressions,
Greater far than all my sin and shame,
O magnify the precious Name of Jesus.
Praise His Name!

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching to all the lost,
By it I have been pardoned,
Saved to the uttermost,
Chains have been torn asunder,
Giving me liberty;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Refrain

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching the most defiled,
By its transforming power,
Making him God's dear child,
Purchasing peace and heaven,
For all eternity;
And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Refrain
