Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional...

Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Isaiah 65:24

The Shire River in Africa rose rapidly, burst its banks and destroyed fields. Finally water stood four feet deep, causing all mud brick houses to collapse.

Believers from five assemblies gathered on the hillside to pray--only God could help in such a devastating situation!

When they opened their eyes, there were three brethren at the door with relief food! God had heard not only their prayers but the prayers of believers in other places who were asking their Lord, "How should we use the money you have blessed us with?"

Are we working with God in prayer?
--David Croudace

and saint meets saint in heavenly light,
Tho' sundered far, by faith they meet,
before the common mercy seat.

Oh, goody!  I get to be first (unless someone else is posting and is not as long-winded as me!)  ;)

I am waiting for my sister and her husband and their exchange student to arrive.  They should be here any minute now.

I got some of the cleaning done, but didn't get the floors vacuumed.  I'm sure they won't care, though.  It will be so nice just to get to visit with them a little bit.  There is never enough time.

It is raining here, which should cool things off a little, but also lightning is flashing, so I'd better shut down.  See you all later!

Titus 3 : 4-5
But when the kindness and love of
God our Saviour appeared, he saved us,
not because of righteous thing we
had done, but because of his mercy.

   A LOVE THAT OVERWHELMS

Thank You, Lord, for saving me,
in spite of my sin, in spite of myself...
I praise you for a love

2 Corinthians 5 : 21
God made Him who had no sin to be
sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Jesus was perfect, spotless, holy, righteous,
and clean.
Yet He became what He hated, sin.
Why would He do such a thing?
Because He loved us and wanted us to be
what He is today,
the righteousness of God.

Almighty and loving Fahter,
thank you for making me holy --
your righteousness -- by the sacrifice of Jesus.
Thank you, dear Saviour, for paying such a
horrible price, not just by dying on the cross,
but also by becoming my sin and carrying
away my guilt.
All praise to You, dear Fahter, for your plan,
and thanks, and glory to You, dear Jesus,
for your loving sacrifice.  AMEN

Bye love Ria

Ria, I can certainly understand about the snoring. In the small home where I grew up, my grandma slept in the other twin bed in our shared room, and Mother and Daddy's room was only one room away.

Many hot summer nights, my mother and I would bump into each other because the person snoring in our bedroom awakened us.

Now, guess who snores ??? - I do use the CPAP machine, though, so no one is disturbed and when I use it I feel much better the next day because the oxygen level in my blood is much higher.

Your hubby will feel much better after the doctors either arrange for the CPAP or do the surgery. Two cousins of mine have had the surgery - the doctor says my body is not a candidate for it, or I would have done so.

I'll be away for the weenend, so may not have the opportunity to post until Monday.

In the interim, y'all have a really good weekend with the Lord. Take care of yourselves!

Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  Welcome to Youthguy04.

This being Friday we had our men's coffee at our local Senior Center.  Only had about 10-12 men there today but enjoyed the time visiting.

Today is our last computer user's group meeting until September and we are having the technology writer from the Atlanta Journal/Constitution, Bill Husted, as are speaker.  This is the third year he has come to speak to us and we feel very priviledged as he turns down many invitations.  He seems to enjoy being with our group.  He basically answers our questions and always has a bit of humor in his answers.  Last year he even brought his wife with him.

Pat and I are going to have lunch early at the cafe, where I usually have morning coffee, and then go to the County Senior Center as I need to help get some materials ready for our meeting.

Rachelle, happy birthday to your young daughter.  It sounds like you have a fun weekend planned.

June, do hope you are feeling much better today.

Ruth Ann, have a safe weekend on your time away from home.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  I plan to enjoy this day.

Janet

Good morning from a very tired Janet.  I waited up until 2:00 AM and then didn't go to sleep until 4, still no sister.  Finally, I decided she either mis-spoke, or I misunderstood her.  She is actually coming tonight, not last night!  :-\  Well, that gives me today to vacuum the floors, I guess.  Besides still having their visit to look forward to--so it's okay.

Darrel took me out to breakfast at McDonald's this morning.  That is something different! ;D

I'll be back around later!

Pat, I don't remember where I read this or maybe I made it up but memories held becomes sorrow...memories shared becomes blessings.  Your memories yesterday were blessings.

It is a beautiful sunny day in Indiana today.  I think this will be a great day to get my book and sit in my swing and finish 'The Glorious Appearing'.  I can't wait until Jesus returns and calls me by my name.

Charlene, her mother, Charlotte, and I went to the Pampered Chef party.  It was great.  I got to see a couple of ex-sisters-in-law.  (I didn't divorce them!!!)  Even my ex and his wife.  I got to hold their month old granddaughter and see two of their daughters.  Like Charlene said...she spent the evening with her mother, mother-in-law and her step-mother-in-law.  How awesome is that?

Hi to all and many thanks for your words of comfort for me.

Sure needed them.

Thanks , Eddie, for reminding me about In Touch website.

I did go back and listen to the message and WOW (it was good
when I heard it last Sunday ) but more powerful when I needed it today.

The message was "when things seem impossible"

He mentioned the song --some of the words are:

Are there any rivers that seem un - crossable

Are there any mountains you can not tunnel through

WithGod -Nothing is impossible

He knows a thousand ways to make a way for you.

Let go and Let God have HIS way

Your sorrows will vanish when

You let go and let God have HIS way.

I hope that is enough for someone to recognize the song and maybe post the words and music here.

Take care,

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Ria, that's not always so.  This, my second marriage, is ten times  better than my first.  We've been married almost 15 years and have not yet had an argument of any kind - except over who should wait on whom.   ::)

JOYCE:

We went on an Alaskan Cruise with Charles Stanley.  The entire boat was filled with Christians.  The bar's and casino's were closed.  In fact the bookstore was located in the casino.

We were in church for 7 days.....morning and night.
The only thing that could top that would be a cruise with the Gaithers or Focus on the Family.

Andy Stanley is as good (or maybe even better) than his father.

That cruise sounds wonderful  :) What were some of the highlights can you share what you learned in the services?
I am off to my MRI in 20 minutes. It's shorter than what I thought thank goodness. Only 1 hour (not 3 hours) which is great since I hate that machine.
I'm in the process of getting ready for an interview next week with Andre Crouch for my business sites.  If you have a question you want to ask him just email it to me I'd be happy to add it to my list. He's being honored with a star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame along with a few other gospel artists.
Please pray for my dh Jason who broke his arm at Walmart last night. He's in a lot of pain and really needs a healing touch.
Happy Birthday Whitney.
I'll be back later, after my test.

Hugs,
Shawnee

Oh, how great that cruise sounds.

I keep telling my hubby I just have to go and the Alaskan
one sounded so good.

I don't think I ever heard his son preach.

Do share as Karstmom27said some of the highlights  if you get a chance.

by the way, welcome Karstmom27 and definately will keep
you in our prayers

Take care all, I am off for the weekend.

Staying in New Jersey --have so much housework to do.

Love in Christ,

Rachelle

Shawnee-were praying for your MRI-I know you don't want to do this but, I know you need to get it done too.
Im keeping you in my prayers.
Tell your husband were praying for him-I know how it hurts to have a broken arm.
It stopped storming here for now-that was bad-It suppose to do the same tomorrow so we will probably stay home.
Shawnee maybe we should take a cruise together hehe and leave the husbands home with the kids-we could go on one of those scrapbooking cruises -sounds fun to me.
Hugs

#24
CHARLES STANLEY CRUISE TO ALASKA HIGHLIGHTS:  Well, it WAS two years ago but here goes:

You get to meet the entertainers up close and personal.  Their families travel with them and they sightsee the same as you do.  They also hang out at the pool with their kids and grandkids.  And they will talk to you just like you knew them all the time.

And speaking of entertainers, Chas. picks all of the entertainers himself.  If he likes you, you get to come back...makes for a lot of pressure on the entertainers, but also provides for top-notch shows.

Probably the thing I remember the most and have used the most is from Andy Stanley.  Sermon title was "You just ain't gettin' your way."

When you have an agrument w/someone and you get angry...part of the reason is...you just ain't gettin your way.

"But you don't understand, he really hurt me by what he said about me." was the excuse.  The answer was Y.J.A.G.Y.W.

But you haven't heard all my arguments yet, if you knew this person and what he said about me, you'd understand.  The answer was Y.J.A.G.Y.W.

We get mad because someone cuts us off on the freeway.  Y.J.A.G.Y.W.    You see if he hadn't cut me off, I'd still be driving along enjoying the Bill Gaither song, "Because He Lives." and minding my own business.  He made me mad and now I want to get even.....Y.J.A.G.Y.W.

I know I haven't given near enough detail, but the lesson I learned is:   I don't always get my way.  Things are not going to go the way I'd like them to go and yes, people will say and do things to hurt me.

What I do with that is up to me.  I can look at it and see if most of the problem is Y.J.A.G.Y.W. and do I really have to get my way?  (Maybe the guy that cut me off was on his way to the hospital to see his wife.)

All this for a guy (ME) that has to be right all of the time.

NOW FOR THE ALASKA PART:  We had never been on a ship before and were concerned about motion sickness.  The Inside Passage Cruise has VERY LITTLE motion.  The night we did have some, it was side to side and it seemed like we were being rocked to sleep.

Alaska is very pretty and offers a lot to see in such a short time....and yes, the boat will leave without you!!!!!

We saw MANY Humpback Whales and we saw them feeding on Herring...a neat thing to see.

We saw Orca Whales traveling w/Humpbacked Whales (something you don't usually see)

We got to see many of the things we had only seen before on the Travel channel.

Lastly, for the faint hearted....the trip is not cheap.  We could have gotten by spending less.  But we reasoned that we would only be doing it once and we might as well enjoy ourselves.

ON A SIDE NOTE:  We met a very nice lady at our dinner table. She was traveling without her husband of many years (Alzheimer's)  She was a little scared to be traveling alone, but she had prayed to meet someone who would watch out for her.  I might add she was 78 yrs old.

We were the answer to her prayer.  We went everywhere together, we enjoyed each others company and we still write to her.

One night she called our cabin and asked to come to her room.  We did and she said that through Dr Stanley's preaching, she realized that she was not as close to God as she should have been.  We talked to her for a while and then she asked us to pray for her and we did.

It was so nice to be a part of God's expansive family....and now Margaret is our friend in Seattle.

PS Chocolate night is just that...everything is made out of chocolate.  If that were not enough...you can eat all day long, if you want to.

This is way too long, sorry.

Sonja, I'm sorry things aren't going so well today.

It is good to read the posts.  We have stayed in most of the day.  I has been hot outside and got up to 90 degrees.  We did go to the store this afternoon to do a little grocery shopping.

In our reading we read Esther this week and have started the book of Job.  One of the great passages is when Job had lost everything, all his riches and all of his children:

'"At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.' In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing."  Job 1:20-22   (NIV)
