Morning Devotional...

On His head were many crowns.                                       Revelation 19:12

The Jews cried out at His crucifixion that if He was a king then He should have a crown.

The crown that He wore on that day was made from cruel thorns, a product of the cursed earth. These were pressed down on that holy brow into which never an evil thought passed.

Praise and thank God that today He is the Victor and not the Victim. He is today crowned with glory and honor and He is worthy of it all.

May our hearts be full to overflowing as we come to worship Him today.
                                                                --John M. Clegg

The head that once was crowned with thorns
Is crowned with glory now!
A royal diadem adorns
the mighty Victor's brow.

We were so saddened to read of Beverly's father-in-law passing away...

Good morning all....

Great devotional, Pat.  Yes, Jesus in his shining glory.  I pray that he is looking down upon us and longing when we will be with him forever as Beverly's father-in-law is.  I know that will be a happy day for me.

I am ready for church services for this morning.  I have no idea what the rest of the day will be.  Probably listening to the race in Indy.

I'm also saddened by your loss. May he rest in peace. And, my prayers will be that you and those who loved and were associated with him will be held close by our Comforter as you grieve.

I'll be heading off to church this morning as well, and then the church is having a picnic at a nearby park this afternoon. We gather and our minister first leads us in a short worship service, followed by dinner on the grounds and fun and games. How nice to fellowship with the saints of God!

Y'all have a good day.

Good Morning. Pat thank you for the lovely card over in the prayer folder.
I am much better today after a good nights sleep and no headache this morning. I spent some additional time in prayer yesterday and the Lord reveal somethings to me that I had to change in my life, nothing drastic just something that I have failed to do for awhile. I think that is why I feel so much better today.
Well the londlord is jup here again today and the wife has just come in the house and Bebe is going crazy. I must go now.

Back to finish posting. She just walked into the house without knocking and  Bebe wasn't having that I had a hard time  settling her down. They just don't understand that they can't legally do that. Well it won't be long and I won't have to put up wit that.
Must get read for church now. time's a wasting.

Hi to each and everyone this beautiful Lord's Day.  We have a beautiful day here in Georgia.  I am not going to go to church today as am still having angina.  Sure hope today is a little better in that regard than yesterday.  I didn't even feel like being on the computer very much and that is unusual.  I went to bed early and finished reading the 5th book in the "Left Behind" series and starting the 6th book.

Beverly, I send my sympathy to you and your family on your loss.  I am glad to read that he was a Christian.  I sometimes think we grieve for our loss and rejoice for the departed at the same time when we know they knew Jesus as a personal savior and are therefore in Heaven.  At least this is how I have felt the last couple of years in losing my own folks.  Hope you have a safe trip to Vermont.  It must be comforting to you to have spoken with him last evening before his passing.

Marilyn, glad your headache is gone today.  I will be looking forward to your report on your worship service today.  I can't image having a landlord who just walked into my house without permission.  I am glad you will soon be free from this type of thing.

Jen, your message was just "bubbling" and it sounds like you all have a marvelous time together in your fellowship and Bible study.

Ruth Ann, hope you have a nice day in Nashville for the church picnic.

Etta Sue, I liked your "Life's mystery" at the end of your posting.   :D

Good morning to Pat and to all who join us later today.

Ruth Ann Bice

I surely hope you'll feel much better shortly, Larry. I appreciate your christian leadership, and want only the best for you and your wife. The way they discovered my hiatal hernia was after a heart catharization when I was in my early 40s. They thought the chest pain was angina, but it turned out to be hiatal hernia and accompanying reflux causing the pain instead of angina. So, I can somewhat imagine the pain you're enduring must feel like. You're in my daily prayers.

As for the weather here in Nashville - well, it's turned out to be very cool and with showers. But, the pavilion at the park is supposed to be a large one, so I'll plan to attend anyway. I

had to come in to work this afternoon, but my blood sugars are acting up, so I must head home to work on getting the blood glucose count raised. It's not easy managing blood sugars - seems always something is causing it to go awry.  :( So, I'm feeling a bit grumpy with this diabetes management this afternoon.

Y'all have a good day. I hope after a bit of sugar intake and then a rest, I'll feel like the picnic. Something special is supposed to happen at the picnic, and I'd love to attend to enjoy the fun.

Well, this is a slow day on CP, isn't it?  Darrel's Mom and sister just left, so this is the first time I have had a chance to get in here.

Marilyn, I am so glad you're feeling better today!  And Larry, I hope you feel better, too!

Abby is still here.  Her Daddy called and wants her to come home, he is missing her.  But she said she wants to stay here until Tuesday! ::) ;D  At lunch, Darrel's sister told her that every time she comes to see us, Abby is here, and Abby said "Yes.  You're lucky!" ;) :D ;D

Ruth Ann, a picnic with your church family sounds just lovely.

We had a bit more rain last night and it is quite cool again today, but I like that much better than really hot!  And much, much better than wind! ::)

I wonder what everyone is doing today????

Beverly, sorry to hear of your father-in-law's passing.  He got promoted, but the rest are left behind for a while and will miss his presence with all of you.

We didn't go to church because of having company who do not go to church. :-\  And Abby wanted to go to Bethel Friends (Hugoton.)  So we all stayed home.  Not a good way to start the week, but God knows our hearts.  We did take the flowers to the cemetery, so that chore is done.  I enjoy going out on Memorial day to the services the Legion puts on, and visiting with people.  That will be in the morning around 11:00.

See you all later!

Hello everyone.  I hope I didn't scare anyone away with my "bubbliness" yesterday!  I had a wonderful evening, and I have a tendency to be really.....well....noisy I guess.  It's something I have to work on, especially in case there's someone who's down, and my enthusiasm can be like a slap in the face.

Anyway, we had a wonderful message this morning on the deep love of Christ.  It often becomes cliche, but I never tire of hearing different people's perspectives on it, and how it's come into play in their own personal lives as well.  Me, I know  I haven't learned or experienced nearly enough to really be able to know what I'm talking about, but I still do anyway.

Well, I must be off.  God be with you all and bless you.  Jen.

Marilyn

The worship service was absolutely wonderful. So Annointed. We started out with God's Got an Army, most of the congregation got up and started marching around the sanctuary, we went right into We will go up and take the Country, they still marched. then right into Victory in Jesus, Congregation was still marching.  Then we sang We will Triumph in the Lord and I'm telling you the annointing hit Peggy and she got off the platform and began to preach.I couldn't hear what she was preaching because I was singing. Then we prayed for my family and everyone who was depressed or had a depressed family member. During the offering we sang Psalm 100.  after offering we sang All He wants is You, then My God can do Anything, and he O the Glory

Before we began the worship service we sang God Bless America and one of our Veterans who had twice beenm a POW spoke a few words on freedom.
Pastor spoke of the behavior of the church, we should be out there telling people about Jesus and inviting them to church, evangelizing and walking the commandments of God.  Instead of just talking about what is in the Bible we are to be examples to ohters of just exactly what is in the Bible. It has been a great day in the Lord. I love church.

What a wonderful service we had this morning.  We could feel God in His house.

Jerry came here after we had breakfast out.  I am going to have Crockpot Short Ribs tomorrow so instead of broiling the ribs, Jerry grilled them for awhile.  I can taste those ribs now!

I got a wonderful surprise when I looked outside today.  I will post photos in Photographs.

I pray that everyone has a happy holiday weekend....even our Canadian friends since it isn't holiday in Canada... ::)

Papa John

Good afternoon everyone.  Good to see each one of you today.  We enjoyed our Bible study and worship this morning very much.

Pat, thank you for the devotional.  Artaxerxes was called "king of kings" in Ezra 7:12.  Nebuchadednezzar was called "king of kings" in Ezekiel 26:7, and Daniel 2:37.  But OUR king of kings and Lord of Lord's is our God and savior Jesus Christ.  He is the king who rules in our lives. I Timothy 6:15, and Revelation 17:14.

Our sympathy to Beverly in the passing of her father-in-law.  My father-in-law, Cornelia's dad passed away a few years ago at the age of 91.  He never retired.  He had worked that day in his office and died in his sleep with his clothes laid out to go to work the next morning.  He was a great Christian man who had served as an elder in the church when he was younger.

Good also to see Etta Sue, Ruth Ann, Marilyn, Larry, Janet, and  Jen in here today.  Not a big crowd but a nice group non-the-less.  I agree with Marilyn who said yesterday that we are a help to each other with our fellowship and care, like a family.

We went home with some friends after church to enjoy a good home cooked meal and it was three o'clock before we got home.  It will be time to go back for evening service in a little while.

Larry, I hope you get that angina under control soon.  Etta Sue, save some of those ribs for me.  ::)

Hello all!  sorry I haven't been around much.  As Travis gets older, his naps seem to get shorter!!  :-\

Anyway, I just wanted to poke my head in and say hi!  Though I may not be replying, I have read the posts, and prayed where appropriate, rejoiced where appropriate, adn just downright laughed at some of you (or would that be "with" you  ;D).  Hope everyone is having a great day!

I'll try to be back tonight, longer.

Al Moak

Papa John - did you get some email from me?  I'm not sure I sent it to the right address.

Pat

My goodness!  Very slow day here at CP today.

We had a wonderful worship service this morning and then a retired missionary from Chile spoke at the Family Bible Hour.  He's just celebrated his 61st Wedding Anniversary.  He was a very good speaker with a great message on the life of Peter.

Then Janice and the family were here for a little while and then Andrew and Terena and Rebecca came and they've just left.

So it was a lovely Sunday for me.  I feel so refreshed to have been able to worship the Lord with the rest of the congregation at Milton.

Glad to see those of you who have posted.  Hopefully, the rest will return tomorrow.

Al,

Yes, I got your email and have answered it.  You should have it by now.

We got back from our Sunday night worship while ago.  It was a good period of singing, praying, and listening to our youth minister give a fine lesson on remembering.  He related it to Memorial Day tomorrow and talked about the more important memorial we have when we remember Jesus as we take the bread and fruit of the vine.

It is a cool 57 degrees and is drizzling rain a kind of miserable night weather wise.  I hope you all hve a good night's rest.

Good evening everyone.  Happy Memorial Day to all.

I haven't been around much the last couple of days - due entirely to frustration with Microsoft XP which I installed on my PC.   >:(   I keep losing things.  Nothing seems to be where it should be and it seems much more complicated just to get into something like "My documents".    By the time I give up working on that I'm so disgusted I don't even want to turn on the Mac - and believe me, that's bad! ;D  Oh well.    This too shall pass.  I know it's just a test, but it's sure a tough one to pass.  ;D

We, too, had 2 wonderful Sunday services.  Our new pastor is soooo great with the youth and our attendance has increased.
Pat, the devotional is something I miss when I don't pop in here every day.  God is using you to bless others with your ministry.  Thank you.
Marilyn your Sunday service sounded very uplifting.  I know you get a blessing when you go.
Al I hope this will find you feeling much, much better!!
Must go and search some of the other forums to see what I've missed.

Good evening everyone.

Sympathy to Chapin & Beverly in the loss of your father you will miss him and at the same time have many a happy memory.

I have not been well (I think the flu) fever and head ache was awful to say the least, the fever is down but not normal but I can live with that part  now.

Pat I guess you knew before me but my daughter Suzzanne has now joined.  Perhaps we will not see her very much as she is going to work and studying a difficult University Course which she must pass and the wall is very thick.  We are doing our best to give her our support.

Blessings         Ruth

Just home for evening worship service. It was another great service.  There were only 24 people there, but our Pastor has always said he would preach to just one person.

I see we have had a few more visitors since I left for church this evening. Good to see youall posting.

We must all remember that Francylou's surgery is Tuesday the 27th.

I heard a story once, don't remember where but when Marilyn said her preacher would preach to one, it reminded me.

An evangelist was called to a small church in the midwest ot lead a revival.  He went, and was shocked when he got there.  There was NO ONE around.  NO one inside, the place was completely barren.  He heard the small still voice say, "Preach."  So, he figured he would.  After all, he was prepared, might as well.

As he neared the end of his sermon, he obviously saw no need for an invitation, but again, he heard the small voice say, "Give the invitation."  So, he did, and led the empty church in a prayer.

Years later, he was preaching in England (I think) and a missionary came up to him and introduced himself.  He said, "You preached one time at a church in [whatever the town's name was] didn't you?"

The pastor was shocked and said yes.  The man continued.  "I was chopping wood in the area that day, when I heard you.  I was so intrigued, I listened underneath one of the windows.  I would have come in, but i was too embarassed because it was empty.  When you gave the invitation, I accepted Christ into my heart, and now I work for him."

Supposedly, this is a true story, but I can't remember the names to validate it, so I won't vouch for its authenticity.  It could happen though . . . .

Pat
