Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

He Was Proud Of His Humility!

Humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and in his good time he will honor you (1 Peter 5:6, NLT).

Dear friends:

God's people are not immune to false pride, but it is something we must desperately avoid. It is very unbecoming, affecting our witness and fruitfulness.

Some years ago I had a pastor friend who was an egotist and very impressed with himself. His father was a minister and my friend had all of his father's sermon outlines. He had mastered them well. He was a good preacher. He also had a singing voice. Sadly, he was not quite as good at anything as he thought he was.

Surprisingly, one day he said to me, "Please pray for me. I spend so much time asking God to keep me humble."

He reminded me of the fellow who jokingly said, "I am so proud of my humility."

I replied, "How would you like to save a lot of that prayer time?"

"What do you mean?" He responded.

I said, "First of all, just acknowledge that you're a creature of God. Everything you possess is a gift from God, whether it's talent or time or treasure. It's all a gift from God. And you know, He can take it all away from you any moment with a car crash or a heart attack or any number of things." I believe my words were sobering to my friend. He never said anything but I suspect he will always remember my biblical counsel.

It is so true. Who are we, merely creatures of clay, born in sin, limited physically and mentally, to have self-pride in anything? Any positive trait that we have is a gift from God. He is the all-powerful One who created us, and we are less than a termite compared to Him. While I can do all things through Christ, I try to keep a termite perspective concerning my human nature. I am regularly reminded of Romans 8:7-8: "For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will. That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God" (NLT).

We do not have to pray and ask God to humble us. That is something we can and should do ourselves. Peter wrote: "Humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and in his good time he will honor you" (1 Peter 5:6, NLT).

Paul wrote: "Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment" (Romans 12:3, NIV).

There is a special reward of grace for humbling ourselves, but the terrible prospect of resistance or opposition from God if we do not: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6, NKJV).

Having God resist us is not a good idea. Receiving His grace is a better idea.

Yours for helping to fulfill the Great Commission
each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

Janet, sorry you are so tired.  Glad to hear that your "walk" was <karmat searches for the right word> edifying (?).

Just thought I'd breeze through to say "HI!"

I am truly sorry for not being on here as much as I should.  No excuses, really, just super busy.  It seems like I sit down to post and Kristi wakes up or Travis needs something, or it is time to do something else.  Always something.

Anyway.  The weather is slowly starting to get nice here, which makes Trav happy because he can go out and play.  And makes me happy because then he is not like a caged little tiger.

Etta, I was just thinking the other day, Kristi is almost the age that Travis was when we came to visit you.  man, time flies, eh?  Are you sure you want a husband?  I think the cats might get a wee bit jealous.

To the others, thanks for posting -- I've enjoyed reading about your life.

Laters!

Jane Walker

I received your email, Pat... and I so enjoy being a part of  CP.  I may not be a photographer but I do enjo the fellowhip here.

I am scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow (Tuesday) and my neighbor has agreed to be the designated driver since they say I'll be sedated and not able to drive myself home afterwards.   :-\

I do enjoy this site and, though I am not a photographer, the Christian fellowship is essential to  my wellbeing.

I'll be back and talk with y'al later....  Jane
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Nita

I didn't get an email.   I saw Angel's old address but she's not here now, so you can remove it. (angel_eyez@isp.com)

I came to post, but now am too sleepy to do anything. :)  I'm off to bed.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I am back to normal and Pat and I have a full day planned.  This is our Explorers Senior's Luncheon day and we plan to go.  Then I need to take her to the Social Security Office so she can complete the things she needs to do before she turns 65 in July.  She also needs to stop by a friends house to pick up a video tape she loaned to this friend.

Janet, sorry to hear that you are so tired and certainly sorry to hear that Beth continues to get worse.  Glad your weekend was so awesome.

Pat, looks like quite a long list of bad e-mail addresses.  That will certainly be a good point to start some paring.  They can always reregister if they wish to return and become an active member.

Karma, good to see you posting.  Your busy days seem about right with two little ones at your knee.  It won't be long before they will be in school and you will be wishing for a return of the good old days to have those little voices and hands near you asking for something.

Jane, I sort of feel the same way you do in that I really make no claim to being a photographers but I do enjoy our fellowship here and the good friends we are able to make as we share a little glimpse of our lives.

Marilyn, when you get your things from layaway and decorate it will be like being in a new home again.  I know you are looking forward to it.

Judy, do you have a special reason to have the PowerPoint?  It is fairly easy to use and I hope you enjoy it.  Good to see you posting.

JudyB, I am not sure I could down lemon and honey as really don't like honey.  Fortunately my flu seems to be over and I obviously had a light case, although it didn't seem light on Sunday.  :)

Hi Ritz.

It is about time to leave for coffee at the Cafe.  I missed yesterday and missed not going as it is a part of my daily life routine.

WinterRose

Just a quick HELLO before I head out the door ... hope that your all well ... busy around here so have a blessed day / morning / evening whatever the case so take care and see you soon !!

Pat

Hi Karen!  Nice to see you!  Enjoy your day!

Site Emails:

If you didn't receive the email, it's because of some items in your profile that are not ticked.

I've changed yours Nita and Marilyn.

If you click on your Profile, and then Notifications and Email and the

Nita, what is your granddaughter's login name?  I'll delete her.

Good Day,
We are still with almost ten-year-old grandson while his parents are away.  He has been easy & such a great kid - still immature in some ways but very mature in others.  Spending much of our time looking at places to relocate closer to the children & I am frazzled to say the least.

Pat:  I did receive your email.  Please keep me on the list.

Larry:  Sorry that you had the flu but glad that you are recovering.  I haven't heard about anyone having the flu this season.

No - must run grandson over to school.

Carol

Marilyn

Good Morning, great devotional Janet thank you.

Pat I sent you a PM on two of the addresses that I recognized. Oh and thank you for all the work you do to keep this site going smoothly. Thanks for changing my profile for me.

Jane I haven't had a colonoscopy in years.

My Doctor appointment yesterday went just fine,  I am healthy and nothing to worry about.

Today I am only going to Fay's, we are making her robe/dress as she calls it. It is made from woven cotton/polyester and has a zipper up the front, a very easy task. Then I have borrowed my neighbor's lawn mower and willow th lawns  when I get home. I also have to iron a few piece of Leroy's laundry So that is the plas for my day. what are your plans for your day?

Al Moak

Well, praise God, I'm still living in His world this morning, though minus about 60% of normal energy.  This cold, while it's definitely lighter than it was, is still coating my trachea and making weird noises when I breathe out - and causing coughing to try to clear it.  Sometimes it just won't clear.  So the night wasn't the greatest I've every had.  But, as I say, thank God - here I am.
Pat - I'm going to go look at my profile, see that it's the way it should be.  God richly bless all y'all today (I live in the south - a little south of Marilyn).

Janet

Good morning!  I had a much better night's rest, so am feeling more like me today.  I'm in a hurry just now as I want to go swim today.

Pat, I believe Beth's login is Primrose.

Badk later!

Good morning everyone. I'm praying that you will all find what you are looking for. What a great idea Pat, sending out that email seems to have waken some sleeping members ;) More and more photos are being added all the time to our gallery and the challenges. If you haven't looked lately, don't cheat yourself... Even if you're not into photography :o. You don't even need to own a camera to appreciate and comment on, and encourage others in their craft. ;)

What lovely photos we have in the gallery today! Get 'em while they're fresh!

Peace Y'all  <3

Marilyn ~ When you hold down Alt, click 0, 1, 7,  6 , you end up with °.
Alt + 0189 = ½.
Alt + 0190 = ¾.
Alt + 0188 = ¼

You have to use the calculator numbers...not the numbers above the letters on your keyboard.  And yes, when you find what you want on the Character Map and highlight it, the Alt #### is in the lower right corner.  Does that help?

Pat ~ I got your email and it was just great!

Karma ~ When was that that you came here?  Spring of 2001?  And I am not looking for a husband but if a rich, Christian man is looking for a wife, send him my way!

Today is a cloudy day and only 58° F in Indiana.  Not much planned today.  No long walk today...tomorrow.  But then yard mowing tomorrow, walking, weed-eating AND posting Thursday's devotion.  Busy day tomorrow!!  All of this is God-willing!

Have a GÔ¿ÔD DAY!!!

Good morning everyone :) indeed it is 1 AM here as i am living half the world away from Canada - USA. A quick message to say hello and to let you know that i am glad to find christianphotographer web.

I am wondering how is spring time like there? as here in Singapore we  have 3 temperature everyday that is hot, very hot and extremely hot ;) ;)

My little one is happy & healthy and sleeping nicely. Now it is time for me to catch up for some sleep.

God bless ya all...

Coni

Janet

WELCOME, CONI!!!  It's great to have you here, all the way from Singapore!

To answer your question:  Here in the southwest corner of Kansas, USA, the weather in Spring can go from killing frost (we had one about a week ago  :() to over 90 degrees.  And from beautiful and still, or with a mild breeze, to horrible hard winds that stir up the dust and dirt and scour the paint off your car!  (Why is it I live here?  Oh, yes!  Because the man I love is here, along with the rest of my family, and if it were perfect, then it would get too crowded!  ;))

I have done my "Beth chores" for today, now I am watching TBN, my favorite program is the 700 Club which starts shortly.

I'd better go look at those new photos!
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

karmat

Hi all!  I'm glad you like the trumpet picture.  That one was fun to do.  It is basically a "painting with light" picture.  All the lighting was done with flashlights. :)

Etta, we were there three years ago, so that would have been 2003, I guess.  Man, time does fly.

Spring here in the mountains of Western North Carolina is pretty predictable.  The weather consistently changes about every 30 minutes.  This morning I took my children to my mom's and travis had on shorts and a t shirt, and Kristi had on sweats and a long sleeved turtleneck.  One of them was dressed appropriately, I just don't know which one yet. :)

Gotta get back to work.  Laters dudes.

Marilyn

Igot back me t 11:30 It took me an hour to mow the front and I still have the back yard to mow. I wore my sunglasses and a visor but my face i still red, right now I m resting a bit and having a lot of water before I continue.'

It is 60 here right now but it sure feels warmer than that.

Ok Back to work now.

Janet I didn't have the time this AM to read all the devotional so I copied and pasted it to Word and will read it tonight after the girls go to bed.

Etta Sue thank you for those formulae?  Is that the right word?  I have wondered about it.  Thanks

The temp reached 25 here in the north. That is about 78°F.   Hey it worked!!!

Well I have a lot to do before John gets home so I am off for now.

Love to all
Judy

Marilyn

205 PM PST I have finished mowing , I still have to rake the back but that an wait until  tomorrow, I did rake the front in to a bunch of little piles of grass and will pick that up tomorrow as well. I am now going to shower and if I feel like it later I will take the dogs out for walks. I am TIRED. Itis now 58° and there is a nice breeze blowing through my house as I have both doors open and a couple of windows.

Coni, it's so good to see you posting.

On another site I'm on, one of the ladies who lives in Florida said of her weather today, "We have two seasons...Hot and Hurricane!"

Right now, our spring weather is just great.  I've been away all of the afternoon till now and I took my dog and the car was too hot really for him--even with all the windows open but he so loves to go with me and he had lots of water to drink.

Judy, I now am the owner of a disability permit!  :-[  Can you believe that?  Your big sister?  The silly groin problem is just not doing any better so for areas where there is no cart parking (shopping carts--where I part next to if possible and push one INTO the store before shopping), I'll use it.  Otherwise, it will be in the glove compartment.

Yes I believe it John was talking aboout getting a Saturn, and I told him to go for automatic, used you as an example.  My knees are giving a lot of problem so I do understand.

Marilyn I can hardly believe our weather is better than you.  Up here in the +70's  Really nice.

Have a good evening everyone.

Marilyn

Judy I am right on the coast, you are inland as far as I know. It is warmer at my son's only 8 miles inland.

I can only imagine what it will be like,
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see,
When Your Face is before me!
I can only imagine.  I can only imagine.

Refrain
Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus?  Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing Hallelujah?  Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine!  I can only imagine!

I can only imagine, when that day comes,
When I find myself standing in the Son.
I can only imagine, when all I will do,
Is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine!  I can only imagine!

Refrain
Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?

PRAISE GOD!!  PRAISE GOD!!  PRAISE GOD!! The man who was here to interview us last week called Beth today and said she qualified for Medicare!!  He will be here again on Thursday, and then we should be able to get the help she needs.  Oh, what a relief that will be.  GOD IS SO GOOD!!

I have a very difficult choice to make.  I must choose between the class I only get to take once a year, and a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains.  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ Oh, why couldn't they have been on separate dates?  :(

I still am feeling the effects of the 72 hours with God.  He is so good, and after all these years, I now know in my HEART, not only in my head, that He loves ME!!  :) 8) ^-^ <3  Now, that's cool!

I have been getting a lot of stuff done today that had to be done right away, and still have lots of catching up to do.

So, please continue your conversation HERE

Wow!  Some great photos in our "The Blues" Challenge!  It's going to be difficult to vote this time!
