JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

May 30 - Awake to Righteousness

"Awake to righteousness, and sin not."
(1 Corinthians 15:34)

When your alarm clock goes off tomorrow morning, don't just wake up to another day. Do what the Word says to do and "awake to righteousness!" Reawaken yourself to the glorious fact that you've been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and given right-standing with Almighty God.

Why? Because tomorrow--and every other day of your life on this earth-- Satan is going to try to convince you that you don't have any right to the things of God. He's going to try to bring you into bondage again to sin in order to control your life. But he won't be able to do it if you'll reawaken yourself every day to who you really are in Jesus.

Here's a prayerful confession to help that revelation come alive in you:

"Father, I confess anew Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior today. Lord, You are the head of my life. I completely yield myself to You. My will is now Your will. My plans are now Your plans.

"As a new creation in Christ Jesus, I accept the gift of righteousness and all that gift includes: health, prosperity, peace, joy and life abundant. I put aside every weight and the sin that so easily besets me. I now look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith.

"According to Your Word, I can now reign in this life as a king. The power of sin and death in my life has been overcome. No longer am I ruled by the forces of evil but by the God above all gods. I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me.

"I determine today to walk conscious of my right-standing with You, Lord, and with every step to draw closer and closer to You. Thank You for the gift of righteousness. Because of that gift, I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.

"In Jesus' Name. Amen!"

Good morning everyone.

Thankyou Pat (er - I  mean Janet :-[) for the devotional.

How true it is that enemy of our souls will try to get us to fall backwards in our faith.  Sometimes we can feel so weary that it seems he may be getting the victory over us, but God never lets go of His sheep.  He will never leave us or forsake us.

I trust everyone will have a blessed day today.

From yesterday:

Ruthie and Carol, that's how the children of Israel were requested to greet one another wasn't it?  "The Lord bless thee and keep thee.  The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee.  The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.  It's a wonderful blessing to pray for one another isn't it?

Kevin, I hope that you managed to get that time of relaxation in at the end of the day.  It seems like you enjoy your time with the dog.

Sue, that does sound like a busy day that you had yesterday.  It's a great blessing to have a job of course, but it can get a bit much at times.

Ruth Ann, I am glad that you enjoyed the holiday yesterday.  We had a holiday yesterday too here in the U.K. and I think that the children are off from school all through the week.

Marilyn, sounds like you've been busy again, but I'm sure glad that you are friendly with your neighbours - it makes life a  lot easier doesn't it.

Well, I've got to sort a few things out today so I'll see y'all later on.

Anthony.

Good Morning Janet what a wonderful devotional this morning.
QuoteBecause tomorrow--and every other day of your life on this earth-- Satan is going to try to convince you that you don't have any right to the things of God. He's going to try to bring you into bondage again to sin in order to control your life.
Satan is a LIAR. Sometimes when things get me down I have to  remember that it really is Satan trying to bring me down and that he is a LIAR. Oft times it is difficult when I get into the self pity bag and wallow in that  self pity.

Anthony I moved into this little house last September and I am so thankful that God gave me this place. My neighbors are so nice to me and so friendly. I already knew two of them before I moved here, it was one of them that told me about this place being for rent.

It took me 8 months and lots of prayer to  find a place where I could keep my dogs and this place is perfect. They have a nice fenced yard that they can see out of (the fence is wire).  The house was completely remodeled inside before I moved in because the druggies who lived here before had trashed it. So it was like moving into a new house.

I am so happy with my house and my neighborhood I can walk to church I am just  the 10th house up the street from the church. my neighbors and I all look for each other and share. One beings me plates of food to eat, another shares from her garden, Bill across the street is always doing little things for us, my new lawn mower is stored in his garage.

God is so Good.

Five years ago today Ali adopted me.  Just look how she has grown!!  She is such a delight!

Carol ~ Last fall I got an email from church asking to drive a couple to Bloomington so the man could receive speech therapy.  He suffered a stroke two years ago and she was told he would be a vegetable.  He now walks and talks.  Now I am driving them to Grand Rapids (6½ hours including stopping for lunch each way) each Thursday and back on Friday for him to have Bio-feedback to get his brain connected to his muscles in his right arm and leg.  They pay me for this so we are both helping each other.

Two weeks ago I got a sesame seed between my gum and my partial plate.  Ever since it has been painful and a knot has come up on my gum.  So I see the Dentist this afternoon.  Hope I get immediate relief.  Not as painful as it was but it is still there after two weeks.

Other than that...nothing today.  I mowed yesterday because it was predicted rain for today.  It is bright and sunny!   :idiot:  I could have waited a day.   :clobber:

:P I had my post all ready, proof-read it, went to backspace to remove one character, and poof!  Off to cyberspace it went!  Guess that wasn't what I was supposed to say this morning.

Good morning, Anthony, Marilyn and Etta Sue.

Ali has been such good company and entertainment for you, hasn't she, Etta Sue?  I still haven't seen Dinah's kittens.......... :-\

Two hours' sleep is not enough, so I am drooping today, but must keep on keepin' on............... ^-^

Janet 2 hours sleep IS NOT enough!!  You might want to think of having a rest later on today.

Etta Sue I have three more kittens ready too go.  You want one?  One is grey and white the other two are black with tiny bits of white under their chin.  Cute but the dogs are enough to look after.

The puppies have grown.  They are so BIG and training is easier than one alone.  They learn from each other.  They know not to jump up on me if they want a pet, the sit ever so nicely and look at me.  That had to be the first lesson as I hate having dogs jump up on people.

We didn't sleep well last night.  There was a terrifically LOUD thunderclap that woke the house and the puppies started barking, I am sure I don't know what they thought it was.

It is hot here now woohoo I love it.  28 *C here so far this am.  We just had a friend in to  till our garden.  He has enlarged the garden, and we will be able to plant potatoes in the new part.  I will be picking up seed today for the veggies.   It seema strange to be planting so late in the season, but we have frost up to and including the holiday weekend.  We are safe now though.  Also we choose veggies that that have a short growing season.

Well I am off and running.  I need to drop John off at work and I am slipping in to see a friend's brand new kittens, born last night.

Have a good day and I will continue to pray for the needs represented here.

Janet, thank you for reminding us that we should be Christians every day and let Jesus be our Lord and Savior.

Anthony, it is always good to see you.  I hope everything is going well over there.  It is amazing that we communicate so easily with friends so far away.

As I read this I thought how nice it has been for you in your situation from when you moved north from the dessert some years ago.  God has blessed your life.

Etta Sue, as you make those trips up to Grand Rapids maybe you could meet my good friend Norm up there.

Hello Judy B. and Alma.  I hope you all have  good day today.
Ps 1:1-6

1   Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
2   But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3   He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
4   Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5   Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6   For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
(NIV)

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We are busy getting things ready for our trip on which we will leave very early in the morning.  We are driving to Springfield, Ohio for a couple of days visit with our former neighbors and wonderful friends of 25 years.  They moved there, to be around family, about 18 months ago and finally they finished building their retirement cottage in the retirement village.  There are in their mid-80's and almost waited too long to make the move.  We will be very happy to see them again.  Then on Friday we will drive to East Lansing, Michigan and spend the weekend with my cousin and his wife.  We have been wanting to get up there to see them for several years so are really looking forward to seeing them.  Fortunately, they had lived here in the Altanta area for about three years before they moved to Michigan and so they come back here occasionally and we have gotten to see them.

As I have a lot of things to get done this afternoon and evening, I won't write much here.  I probably won't be posting until we return from our trip next week, probably Wednesday (however, you never know I might be able to post before then).

Janet, please give yourself a break and get some rest even it if is just laying down with your eyes closed.  I think we are all very worried about you.

Ruthie

Etta Sue, what a beautiful cat!   I have one the same.  I call him Rusty.   He is so loveable.  He is outside and when I come home he runs to meet me.  A sweet personality.    I should have called him Morris because he is a red-headed cat and that is my maiden name and we have a lot of red heads in the family.  ha ha.   Oh well he knows his name now, so can't change it.

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Carol

Janet:  Two hours of sleep for you - that is never enough.  You need to rest.

Etta Sue:  That is some drive for you.  I do hope that they have an alternate driver for any time you need to just stay home & get your own stuff finished.  Gray and white cats have always been my favorite - one son is very allergic to cats so no way in our house.

Larry:  Enjoy your visiting.  It is fun to see everyone, isn't it?

Anthony:  That blessing is something we hear occasionally and it is usually near the end of service.  So, that is how it is figured out here.

Don just returned from his basement workshop & did produce two pens this afternoon but he is saying that it was an exercise in frustration because things did not go well today.  He does love his hobby and is going to branch out with more things.

JudyB

The temp hit 35 in the shade today.  That would be about 95*C.  Such a change from the snow of last weekend.

Our dragon flies are back!  We watch and wait for them because their food source is those pesky black flies.

Hi Papa John I love reading your posts.

Hi everyone else as well I am not naming names as I will surely miss someone.

Bue for now
Judy

Anthony

Thank you all for the great fellowship today.  I've read all of the messages just, but I've had a problematic day today so I thought I would just say God bless and drop into bed.

We had a missionary meeting at church tonight and it reminded us all of the sacrifices that missionaries make to spread the gospel in far away places.  Perhaps we should have a missionary time here on New Every Morning at some stage.  We could each bring our own missionary concerns to the forum and we could all pray over them.  Just a thought.

Anyway, feeling tired, so God bless everyone and look forward to  reading your posts tomorrow.

Anthony.

Here is one for Etta Sue, Liz, Anthony and all the cat lovers among us (me, too.)

VETERINARIAN Louis J. Camuti used to tell of one of his more unusual house calls:
My client, Mrs. Rouben Mamoulian, wife of the stage-and-screen director, lived a life of luxury. Her cat, however, was an ordinary gray tabby named Dinah. Or so I thought. Actually, I found out that Dinah was the cat's meow when Mrs. Mamoulian one day asked, "Would you like to see her wardrobe?" She led the way to a room dominated by a large French armoire.
Holding up several tiny outfits, she asked, "Aren't they fine?"
"But your cat wasn't wearing anything when I saw her just now."
Mrs. Mamoulian looked at me as if I were a fool. "Of course not. The cat isn't going anywhere." She kept pulling out more cat-size garments: gowns, petticoats, a cape.
"It's incredible," I exclaimed. "These clothes look tailor-made."
"Well, of course they are," she replied, giving me a scorching look. "How else could we get a decent fit?"

The cat's wardrobe story amuses me. But I don't see how they can justify such extravagance.  :D

I just came in from potluck dinner at church followed by such an interesting Bible study. Right now we're in the book of Acts.

It also was a good, moderately busy day at work. So, I have MUCH for which to be grateful.

G'nite, all.

Willa had surgery at about 2, They removed the whole breast as that was her choice. She did not want the Radiation or the Chemo so told the DR. to take it off. She is in a lot of pain and they are keeping her overnight in the hospital. Please continue to pray for her. Her daughter Loreda is going to stay the night with her.
