Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

He appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Chron. 20:21

We are told that Jehoshaphat appointed "singers," then we're told they were to "say." Which did they do: sing or say? They did both.

When we sing to the Lord we should also be saying something--thinking of the words and meaning what we sing. "I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." (1 Cor. 14:15).

Whether our singing is congregational, individual, or "making melody in our heart to the Lord," our singing should be saying something to the Lord.
--David Logan

His Eye Is On The Sparrow
(Click to hear music)

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

"Let not your heart be troubled," His tender words I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears
Tho' by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

The verse today on the left sidebar is one of the favourites in this home.  We had our daughter-in-law's mother paint it for us and it's haninig where everyone can see it when they come to our door.  It's hanging over the stairs.

Today's Verse

-----------------------------------------

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Yes Pat that is a favourite here as well.

It was quite an evening.  I sat enjoying the setting sun and reading while I waited for Bpnnie.  Dr gave her a medication and in about 20 min the pressure started to go.  I pray she is better tomorrow. I know what migraines are all about.

Well it is late and I am tired.  Night all and good morning as well.

I am feeling bad that I neglected to mention that today (still Thursday!) is our National Day of Prayer.  We attended a short service and prayed for our nation and all our leaders.

Great Ladies's Bible Study tonight.  God is knitting our hearts together as we share and fellowship with each other.

See you later!

Edit:  I came back to say that I wanted to do a puzzle, and it told me I'm not authorized to view that page.  :o  How about that?

Well Janet, you shouldn't be puzzled about it.

Howdy all!  Janet our local Christian radio station (one of them) had a day of prayer and praise today.  All day, they took prayer requests and praise reports and then aired them.  It was really cool to hear what God is doing in lives around.

Unfortunately, I am afraid that some people prayed today that did it just because they were supposed to.  I know that for the sincere saints, the prayers going to Heaven were probably sweet music to God, but I wonder how many pray just out of routine or ritual.  But, at least maybe some people were reminded today of how important prayer is for our community/state/country.

I hope all of you ahve an awesome Friday.  WooHOO almost the weekend.  Yeah!!!  I'm shooting pictures Saturday night for the local Christian Academy formal.  I really hate that kind of thing -- it is so stressful for me.  I'll probably make Bernard shoot beside me so if my shoots are bad (or I goof up and leave the camera on ISO 1600 or something), we can salvage teh image.  ;)

Nite nite (or morning morning, afternoon afternoon, whenever you see this)

Janet

Al... :P............. :clobber:   But, I have to admit it, that was a good one. :)  Thanks, Karma.

It is RAINING in SW Kansas this morning!  ;D  Yea, God!  Actually, it was heavily misting when I came home last night, and it continued to drop moisture all night, at least the 30 or so times I was awake, I could hear it still hitting the air conditioner.  This is exactly what this area needs, slow, soaking, wonderful, heaven-sent RAIN.  Thank you, God.

I have quite a list of to-dos for today, not even including the Beth chores.  So I'm up early to get started.  I hope, after not much sleep, that I can get them all done.  :-\

Blessings, everyone!

good morning all!

It's raining here, too.  We don't need it as desparately as Kansas, but when we have a wet Spring, the Summer seems to go better.

today is the first day this week that I haven't had to get the kids up early and rush off to test some kid or work somewhere.  Travis is enjoying hanging out at home, though Kristi has already started saying "nanananan" (what she calls my mom) and "mamamamam" (sounds a lot like mama, but said in a way that means Mimaw -- bernard's mom).  She's ready to go.

The other day, we were on the way home from somewhere, and Travis had to "go."  We were still several minutes away from home ("NO, I can't hold it"), so we had to pull over in a parking lot.  This particular time, it was the parking lot of a pre-school that was already closed for the day.  Travis asked what it was (the swings and playground peaked his interest).  We told him a day care, so he asked what a day care was.

Travis:  What's a day care.

Karma:  A day care is a place where mommies and daddies can take their kids to stay while they go to work.

Travis:  (Thinks for a second).  Ohhhhh, that's where grandmas live.

We are blessed to not have to use anyone but grandparents when we need babysitters.  :)

Thought I'd share wit ya!

Carol

Karmat:  We have to drive an hour & a half to see one grandson & we were blessed to be with him for five days!!!!

Will check in later.

I just looked at Sara's orphan pictures.  Beautiful children.

Karma - I didn't even feel that kick.
I've been up since 5, so at least I've gotten some things done.  Now I gotta go do the rest of 'em.

Good Morning: good devotional Pat. Whether we are "singing" or "Saying" talking to God is  what we are doing. Praising continually., as David said "I will bless the Lord at all times, your praise shall continually be in my mouth."

Today I will finish Fay's dress/robe all I have left to do is hem the sleeves and put the collar on. Pray that she will stop telling me how to do it and just let me do it, I do know what I am doing. I have been a professional seamstress in a the past. I got such a headache Wednesday from her constantly talking to me telling me how to do what I already had done. ANNOYING to say the least.

Then I am taking Leroy back to Eureka so we both and pick up a Seniors food box.

Hey Al get busy will ya.

GÔ¿ÔD Morning!!

The vision didn't go away so I went out and did my weedeating yesterday.  Thank God, it is battery operated and I can stop when the battery goes dead or I might still be out there weedeating!

Then I got two phone calls.  First from Ivalou.  She asked me to go with her Red Hat Society ladies next Wednesday and asked if I would like to join their society!  YES!  So I will be joining the rest of you Red Hatters!

Then I got a call from my telephone company.  I am getting DSL high speed hookup for the internet!!  I am jazzed about it but I am thinking it will be a lot of work.  So I won't be posting my graphics until I find if I have space on earthlink to call my own and put my graphics on there.  So some of my pictures and graphics in old post will disappear when I close down my old ISP.  I can't imagine how fast it will be.  I sometimes have to wait 45 minutes to get an email that has pictures on it.....whew!  Anyway, they are sending me a modem in the mail and then I hook it up myself.

Then Kitty called and asked if I wanted to come over to talk.  So I showered and went over to her house and talked until 10 p.m.!  I sure do miss her when she is gone.  She has been spending a lot of time doing Grandma duties in Ohio.

Today is my walking day.  I noticed that I have both big toes bruised from walking.  So I have to find more comfortable shoes.  I don't think I should wear my sandals which are the most comfortable shoes I own.

I washed a load of clothes and have them hanging on the line outside.  Love line dried clothes!  It's breezy so they should be perfect!

Yea, I agree with Papa John.  Dinner is a big meal either at noon or evening.  More than two or three things being served and more than two or three people eating!!  So if someone asks me to come over for dinner...I have to say, noon or evening?

I weighed Inky yesterday.  She is 16 lb!!!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is a cloudy day and we just had some thunder.  This seems so much like Saturday that I have to keep reminding myself that it isn't.

Last evening we went out with two other couples for dinner and then they all went back to one of the couples retirement community clubhouse and played bingo and then at dessert.  I had forgotten that I had the committee meeting at the church so left after dinner and went to my meeting, which lasted less than an hour and then came home.  I made a birthday card and little banner for my friend Rod's birthday.

This morning Pat got up early and fixed egg, sausage and cheese breakfast burritos for me to take for the men at the senior center to honor Rod's birthday.  She had them all ready when I left at 7 am.  They were very good and we had the largest turnout of men I think we have ever had at once, around 20.

By lunch time I was feeling very weary so after an early lunch laid down and slept for two hours.  I am now continuing to work on recording sermons for our church website, working on some other webwork and doing some other choirs.

I think I finally got my connection problems solved with the new router we put in yesterday and my telephone system seems to be working well.  Still have a few problems to iron out but these were major aggravations.

Etta Sue, you are absolutely going to love the DSL and will see such a difference.  I had Earthlink DSL for quite awhile and they are a good company.  As I recall I had webspace with my account and could link from it.  If you look at the Earthlink website you can see what is available.

Janet, perhaps the help will become available more quickly.  However, sure hope you can find some help in the interim for Beth.  Have you ever thought about getting some help for yourself such as someone to do heavy cleaning?  Maybe that would take some of the stress off of you.  We have a housekeeper come every two weeks and cleans the entire house as my wife is no longer able to do it and I feel it is money well spent from our budget.

Ritz, thanks for all your activitity in the Gallery and reminders to visit.

Maryilyn, that must be very annoying to have someone tell you how to do what you already know how to do.  Hope you finish the project so that aggravation will end.

JudyB, I can certainly feel for Bonnie and the headaches.  I am so thankful that I don't suffer from them any more but did for many years and they are so debilitating.  I hope she gets relief soon and something to treat them in the future.  Sure would like to see those puppies as they sound so cute.

Al, I don't think I ever heard of coffee made like that.  It sounds like it must be a treat.

Carol, you can at least see your grandchildren occasionally and that would be a joy.  Our granddaughter and greatgrandchildren have moved to upstate New York and it is not likely that we will see them anytime soon.  They used to be in Kansas City and we were able to see them infrequently.

Karmat, it is so great that you children are building such bonds with grandparents.  I grew up that way and so dearly loved my grandmother that lived nearby.  Her influence on my life could not be measured.  It was not what she said but the way she lived her life and shared her love with my sister and I.

Pat, that is a great Bible verse and says so much.  Also thanks for the devotional today.

Ruth, I can't image going out to eat and ordering liver and onions.  UGH!!  Sorry it wasn't cooked properly.  I had big sea scallops when we ate out last evening and my wife had crab cakes.  It was the first time we had gone to this seafood place but will likely go back.

Papa John and Marilyn, when I grew up we followed the same meal styling in terms of whether it was lunch or a dinner.  However, on the farm we usually had breakfast, dinner and supper because every meal was a pretty good sized one.

Well I had better end this chapter and get busy with some other things.

Janet

Ruth........liver and onions?  :P YUCK!!   ;) :)  I think that is one dish you either love or hate.  And I'm in the latter group.  When Darrel and I married, he told me that if I ever wanted him to leave, I wouldn't have to say a word; just serve him liver and spinach at the same meal, and he would get the hint.

Darrel took me to lunch today.  We went to Alejandros and had Mexican food.  Yum.

I am not feeling myself at all today.  I'm really tired and have a bad headache, something that happens very seldom nowadays, thank God.  I think I'm just worn out and overstressed.  And I think I might just take a nap!  I do believe the world will keep on turning......

I had to go to the hospital to pick up Beth's MRI films; and it took them over 30 minutes to print them.  Seems that's been my day today, hurry up and wait.  :-\

Talk to you lovely people later.  This tired lady is headed for her pillow for a while.

Huh?? ???  You just let me sleep, and nobody came in here the whole time? :o  Hmmmm.........

How about a smile?

I WAS VISITING A FRIEND for a few days and noticed a "to do" list on her table. It said:  Polish furniture  Scrub bathrooms  Change bedding in guest room  Buy homemade-looking cake  Bring out clock Florie gave us  Throw this list away before Florie arrives.

Liver Yech No Way!!!!!

Now that I am just about ready to fix supper and the news is coming on the TV the sun has come out, and my dogs haven't had their walk yet. Drat and double Drat.

My plan to finish Fay's sewing today went very awry. I got over there and she told me that some of the seams were not the exact 5/8 inch measurement according to the pattern so she had ripped them out.   She had measured all the seams  to a 5/8 piece of cardboard she had cut out.  :clobber: Now IMHO if she can see to rip them out she can't tell me she can't see. I got angry  :ticked: and we had a few words.  I did not do any sewing today. I won't say anymore about that.

Ok I am through venting now.

Janet, I used to like liver and onions the way Cornelia fixed them.  She would slice it thin and fry it and make gravy and cut up onions on it and it was delicious.  However we haven't had that since they discovered cholesterol.

I used to like liver and onions.  I put each slice in seasoned flour and then with some butter and chopped onions, I'd brown the liver and then put water in the pan and the flour made gravy and boy, it was delicious.

Did you all have fun with the poll?

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Al Moak

Well, I have to get into the liver/onions discussion.  I tremendously like chicken liver and onions. That's the only way to go.  And the onions have to be cooked long enough to be very soft.  That gravy would help too.

Larry - a friend showed me the cold-process coffee trick years ago, and I've been doing it ever since.  It's much easier on the stomach, too, because of having no acid or oil.  It's very, very smoothe, yet still has the cafein, flavor, etc.  The keraff is about a liter and a half or so, and you simply place a pound of very finely ground coffee in it, then add water to the very top, then leave it for 24 hours, then drain.  Then you can simply fill it again with hot tap water and let it sit for another 24 hours.  The second batch is as good as the first.  A third batch can be made, but you use it almost full strength in the cup.

Marilyn

Al how much more is a liter than a quart.? Did you order  special Carafe to use for that?  It sounds like something I would lie to try. Although currently I am using  12 coffee maker that is only about 1½ years old. Howe many cups of coffee do you get all together.

Larry I got my Skype straighened out, it was just a matter is going into the options menu and ticking the ringtone to classic.
