Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Pat and Janet ... I am so sorry to read each of your posts.  This is indeed one of those times when we say "in times like these" ... and lean heavily on Jesus' breast for comfort and strength.  In times like these we have to trust Him and not ourselves ... we have to know, as Karma has said, that whatever seed has been sown will take root and that our dear loving heavenly Father knows exactly how to make all things work together for good ...
Janet, I know you have a heavy heart and are so weary ... Have a good night's rest and awaken refreshed to a new day.

Same for you, Pat.

I'm praying ... for Beth; for Janet; for Pat; for Katie and her family ... and for all concerned and touched by these lives.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Carol

Janet:  So sorry to read that Beth has such a difficult road in this life. It just has to change someday.

Pat:  I am going over to SN to check on the latest news on Katie - I wish that you could see and talk with her.

Jane:  Your post says it all.

Carol

Pat

Good Morning friends.

Thanks.

I've not heard anything new from the family.

I didn't sleep much last night but that was time for my Father and I to communicate.

Praying too for you, Janet.

I've got some errands to do so I best shake a leg here.

Pat, I thought about Katie and prayed while trying to go to sleep last evening.  We were both praying.

Lots to do today after I get back.  May be back today, may not.  Pat, let me know if you can't do what I asked.  I will understand!

Hugs to all of you and God Bless!

MMMMmmm, Kevin!  That does look yummy!

Thank you, Karma, Jane, Etta Sue, Pat and Carol, for remembering us in prayer.  In times like these.......it is indeed precious to know dear brothers and sisters in Christ are lifting us up in prayer.  There are SO many needs, all around us---never a lack of things for which to be praying!  A little baby in our congregation was taken to the hospital with a fever of 107 degrees, and the soft spot on her head was bulging.  Last night we had a message from Pastor saying she had taken a turn for the worse; the diagnosis is viral menningitis.  :'(

Pat, I'm so sorry Katie has gotten worse; I was also praying that you would have another opportunity to witness to her.  But as Karma said, you did plant seeds, and it is our prayer those seeds have sprouted and Katie has realized her need for the Savior.  (((hugs)))

Well.......are you ready for the next installment in the saga of Beth's struggle with Neurofibromatosis?  :(  Dr. Usala was shocked at her decline.  And for the first time, Beth heard herself described by the ugly  word "paraplegic."  He still thinks she may have thyroid cancer; and says she has a tumor on her pitituary gland.  He ordered blood tests, another sonogram of her thyroid, and another MRI of the brain.

Then we went to Dr. Cone's office where we SAT and SAT and....well, you know......for over FOUR hours!  :P  He, too was shocked at her decline.  He looked at the two sets of MRI films we had brought, said he found more stenosis in her neck and middle back, two more herniated discs, lots of neurofibromas in the spinal column, none of which should be causing the degree of disability she has.  So he wants her in the hospital for extensive tests, and will get all of her doctors, plus maybe some new ones, to collaborate on her condition.  He said "We need more information."  He also told her "You are never easy, Beth."

So, Monday at about 11 AM she will check into BSA Hospital and start the next chapter........... :'(  Oh, how I dread it. :(

Today is our ladies' luncheon which happens once a month.  I will take Beth, as we are eating at Alejandro's, her favorite Mexican place.

I finally got to sleep sometime between 3 and 4 this morning.  I am getting more and more weary, and the tears are lurking just below the surface.  Jesus, please help me.

I will come back later, and I promise to  be more cheerful, or else not say anything!  :) 8)

Thanks, Marilyn...........we were posting at the same time.

Hi everyone.

So sorry to read these reports regarding Beth and now about a SeniorNet friend, Katie Sturtz, who I so remember as a very vibrant person.

Pat, did the sowing in Katie's life and now we have to depend on the fact that the Holy Spirit has been working in her life.  She has had several days to face her mortality and perhaps she has sought Jesus as her savior.  Put this in God's hands and try not to worry beyond the concern that is natural for a good friend in such a sitation.

Janet, I just don't have words to express my concern for Beth and also for you as you walk this difficult path.  This terrible disease she has had so long has really played havoc with her body.  It is obvious that you all have done and continue to do everything possible to make her life as tolerable as possible.  Don't be afraid to cry if this helps relieve your own emotional pain and, by all means, confide in your minister and your good friend.  You know that your many friends here on SN are praying for this terrible situation and are concerned about you both.

Jim, I was happy to read that things have turned around for you.

I am still pretty tired from our excursion yesterday but did have a good night's sleep and should be fine by tomorrow.  Fortunately I don't have anything on my schedule today other than choir tonight, which I always find refreshing.

Our daughter was asked by a friend of hers to go with her to see the doctor.  She hadn't been feeling well for a couple of weeks.  She was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer and the doctor told her that she probably doesn't have more than 6 months more to live.  She is 42 years old and has never smoked and has tried to follow a healthy life style.  My daughter is emotionally wrecked with this news and could only tell me about it in tears.

Our daughter found out last week that she has staph infection on one of her legs.  She has been taking anti-biotics but the lesions are looking worse everyday.  So she has to go back to the doctor today for a sensitivity culture.  She also has a severe kidney infection but can't start to treat that because it requires a different anti-biotic and wouldn't work with what she has been taking.  Obviously she isn't feeling very good but it trying to keep up with her college class.

Etta Sue, hope they get you all setup with the DSL today.  Now don't forget to go to bed tonight.  You are going to be delighted with the much faster speed on the Internet.

Ruth Ann, glad to see you postings and happy that you got good news.

I know there are many others I should comment to today but am going to ask your forbearance and just say that I have read all the postings.  I will try to do better tomorrow.

Carol

I am so very sorry to read about Beth and now Larry's daughter.

Larry - Janet :  Your loads are far too heavy.  Let the Lord be your guide in every moment of every day.  All I can say is that someone who loves the Lord is praying for you and your families.

Pat:  Oh, no - you need to sleep.  I hope this doesn't start another group of bad nights for you.
Take care.

Carol

We Shall Behold Him
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by Dottie Rambo

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

The sky shall unfold, preparing His entrance;
The stars shall applaud Him with thunders of praise.
The sweet light in His eyes shall enhance those a waiting,
And we shall behold Him then face to face.

Chorus
And we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him
Face to face in all of His glory;
And we shall behold Him, Yes, we shall behold Him
Face to face, our Saviour and Lord.

The angels shall sound the shout of His coming,
The sleeping shall rise from their slumbering place.
And those who remain shall be changed in a moment,
And we shall behold Him then face to face.

Chorus
And we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him
Face to face in all of His glory;
And we shall behold Him, Yes, we shall behold Him
Face to face, our Saviour and Lord.
We shall behold Him, our Saviour and Lord.

May I ask you all to please help welcoming our new folks in the Introductions area?

http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?board=42.0

Just scroll down the list and post a welcome.  Sometimes, you only need to say "Welcome" but it's all part of making our new folks feel part of our community.

Some of you are doing this and for that I thank you so very much.

Just to let any who knew Katie Sturtz, she died this morning.

Papa John

I am saddened to hear about the death of Katie S.   I met her along with some others of you in Atlanta some years ago.  She was active in SeniorNet.

Thanks for the happy birthday wishes.  I have had a good day.  Some of our grand children came in with a big birthday balloon and a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to their old grandfather, now 79 years old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DEAR PAPA JOHN!!  YOU ARE NOW 79 YEARS YOUNG!  I hope you enjoy many more years with your lovely family.  My mother in law is nearing 95, and my own Mom will be 90 this month.......so you are young, compared to them.  ;)

Pat, I'm so sorry to hear about Katie.  I just pray she turned to the Lord before she passed over.

Larry, my heart goes out to you and Pat........and your dear daughter.  I do know that it is so difficult, and my prayers are with you.

I decided I have come to the end of my strength, so saw my (and Beth's) doctor today.  He prescribed a sleeping aid for me, and talked to me and Darrel about possible plans for Beth.  He told me I can no longer care for her alone....in his words, "You're DONE."  So, after the Amarillo thing is over, we will be facing very difficult decisions here.  :'(

And, before I start  :'( again, I will wish you a pleasant evening, and see what I might do around here.  I'm trying not to take a nap, to improve my chances of sleeping tonight.

Ohsuch sdaness today. I fell sort of overwhelmed.

I have been out to take the each for thier walk. Went over to Jan's to take her some more Broth and Jello.

I was going to clean my bedroom today but  I reall don't feel like it.  We have "Master's Commision" coming to  our church tonight to give a presentation. I 'm not sure but I thinkl that is an A/G thing.

Thank you so much Ritz.

It's so much appreciated by all of us to know that you are praying.  Where would we be without our Saviour?

Janet, I'm glad you spoke to the doctor.  We'll chat when you're free.

Well, it was a light day at work again today. The dentist said, see you in 6 months. Now two more doctors this week. I grinned and told my boss it's spring tuneup time!

Thanks for the welcomes home. You know I love y'all.

Stresses have sometimes lately been overwhelming - possibly our Lord knew I needed a break at work, anyway, whether or not I get a break at home.

Brian's mother couldn't help but keep noticing how beautiful Brian's
roommate, Stephanie, was. Brian's Mom had long been suspicious of a
relationship between Brian and Stephanie, and this had only made her
more
curious

Over the course of the evening, while watching the two react, she
started to
wonder if there was more between Brian and Stephanie than met the eye.

Reading his mom's thoughts, Brian volunteered, "I know what you must be
thinking, but I assure you Stephanie and I are just roommates."

About a week later, Stephanie came to Brian saying, "Ever since your
mother
came to dinner, I've been unable to find the beautiful silver gravy
ladle. !
You don't suppose she took it, do you?" Brian said,

"Well, I doubt it, but I'll send her an e-mail just to be sure.

So he sat down and wrote:

Dear Mom:
I'm not saying that you "did" take the gravy ladle from the house,
I'm not saying that you "did not" take the gravy ladle.
But the fact remaing is that
one has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.

  Love, Brian

Several days later, Brian received an email back from his mother that
read:

Dear Son:

I'm not saying that you "do" sleep with Stephanie, I'm not saying that
you "do not" sleep with Stephanie.

But the fact remains that if Stephanie is sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by  now. Love, Mom
