Pastors are usually too busy to spend much time with anyone, and also pastors come and go, but the  faithful church members are always there, please try to find a good prayer group, even if is not from your own  church.
When I was a young Christian, I went to many charismatic prayer fellowships, mostly inter, or non-denominational, and I was ministered to  by wonderful Spirit-filled men and women, that is where I grew up spiritually, sitting amongst these Godly people, where you could bring your problems, and be prayed for, then when you were stronger, you in turn could pray for them too.
Some prayer fellowships lasted for years, mostly house groups, which are far more relaxed than church meetings.

Ria, I am sorry you are feeling so down but I also understand how things can temporarily.  It is good that you are seeking some help.  

I haven't accomplished much today and don't seem to have anything to say so am going to post the hymn again that I did yesterday but today I wrote out the music as a midi file and added it to Pat's treasure trove of hymns.

I have this evening called a psychotherapeut i also have had him for your years.
Now he has a group also depressed people he is a christian and i can come wednesday in the afternoon
first in a little group 6 people and also himself
He have told me what they all are doing talking
reading in the Bible and praying. This psychotherapeut
is not working in a clinic but for his own but he is busy
i know him. First i must talk with him alone

But i thank you Chris and Margit for

Hope your health is better--I see where you mention osteoporis (spelling is lousy) any way; I , too, was diagnose with it about a year ago.  I take -Actonel--once a week and remember calcium, calcium and more calcium.

I have doctors appointment on Wed. 12th and will see how I have progressed.

I remember a long time ago on SN when we were posting with unbelievers; how hard it was for me to hear those words of hatred and disbelief about our LORD.

But you and Al and Don (how is he???) would just fill the forum with your biblical wisdom and this little old lady was just filled with HIS love.

I think my child like innocence helped me alot when I was on the forum.  By this , I mean, I listened to everyone; even the unbelievers and then I was led to research more and more about the Bible and learned so much.

I even thanked the unbelievers for bringing me closer to the LORD.

Sometimes I think it was a good thing to be quiet and listen for then I was able to discern the purpose and plan our Father has for our lives.

Sometimes, we "think" too, too much --People, especially, unbelievers can analyze things to death.

I love the quiet times with the LORD the best of anything

Yes, being "child like" is a very gooOOOOD THING.

JudyB - sorry if I was too hard on you about Melaura.  Sometimes just a couple of words can really make a statement sound completely different, and I'm supposing we all "heard" you say something a little different from what you really meant to say.  I think you are exactly on track to look for the spiritual significance in her sickness and look for the lessons to be learned, but I think we all got a little paranoid that you were simply going to let her be sick until God chose to heal her, rather than letting a doctor try to treat her.  So sorry if I misunderstood.

Etta, you keep those taxes paid, girl.  Else they'll turn up the buzzer on the power lines and you won't be able to sleep at night...

Ria - I'm praying for you, praying that God will comfort you.  We love you, and I'm so glad you have US to talk to.  Please don't ever feel that we won't listen.  We're always here.  

I'm gonna go for now; gotta do another hour or so of real work.  It's been a busy day!

Our winter seems to have begun - not with snow yet, but certainly winter-like temperatures.  

Yesterday Gene was down with one of his headaches again so I went to church alone and then in the afternoon to an American Legion flag-lowering ceremony, also alone.  After that we just spent the afternoon together, reading and watching football, car races and golf on TV.  

Judy, I only have one comment to make about Melaura's illness.  Maybe I'm not understanding correctly, but you say the doctor can only treat the symptoms.   I find that unacceptable.  Why isn't the doctor finding, or trying to find, the cause - the physical cause - of the fever and nausea?   If she's not looking into that, I'd find another doctor.  


EDIT:  I forgot to mention, the site for photo editor that Marilyn mentioned is http://www.irfanview.com - she just had a little typo. It's an excellent program and the price is right - free.  I've used it a lot - until I got PSP and Photoshop Elements.  It's very good for changing the pixel size and the file size of pictures and will open (and save to) many different graphic formats.

It is almost dark and not 6 p.m. yet!  But it was a bright sunny but cool day.  I think it only got into the 50's!  I did get my leaves mulched by the mower and I also closed the vents in the crawl space and put some styrofoam on the outside.  That helps some, I hope.  

Then I did a couple of PSP lessons.  I took some photos at the little church we went to last evening.  I didn't use flash and it was too dark so I deleted all of them.  Maybe next time.  The puppets are hilarious!  Teenagers are the puppeteers!  They are really good and you forget that they are puppets instead of people singing to the CD's!  Well, almost.


I am talking to Jerry on IM.  I missed him this morning while I was spending my money and eating.
Hahaha!  Uncle Sam needs my money....

I have to agree with Janet-we do not serve a God that would want to punish us with sickness-after all it says that by HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED GODis not the Author of Confusion about this but Satan is..He wants all of us to be Healthy..It is His will that we are Healed..I think that Melaura needs to express how she feels and be able to talk with someone about it-and for someone to teach her to ask God to forgive her.. Jesus wants to set her free from that-Yes, Sin, unforgiveness will cause our bodies to be sick if we do not get rid of it-

Melaura is under Doctors care.  She has been since last June 30th.  When the doctor sees her she deals with what she sees.  Our family Doctor is useless.  I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get into the pediatritian.  

Now as far as what I was saying before.   If there is hatred and bitterness in her heart and soul it will (and HAS) eat up her spirit leaving her vulnerable to all the attacks of our enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)  I can only do so much so can medicine.  If the root problem is not killed, the hatred, bitterness, and unforgiveness, the enemy will continue to attack her where she is the weakest. her health.  I had the opportunity to talk extensively with her about the problem on the way home from taking John to work.  Her words were I don't want to forget, forgive , or stop hating.  I want to sue that  person.  I understand that feeling.  It has now come to a head.  We talked and talked, I directed her to think about how her Lord was saddened at the sin in the world and He died for it.  I told her that God was not requiring her to "feel" forgiving.  I told her God required obedience.  Forgive, out of obedience and then let the love of God flow through her to these people.  I shared with her how I had been on a similar journey 2 years ago.  I knew the Holy Spirit was directing my words.  the tears flowed.  I suggested that somewhere there would be a little girl who will have gone through the same journey that she has taken, and she would be able to help that person.  Also that until she was obedient in this the next step God was wanting her to take would be stalled till there was obedience.  You see until we obey His Known will we won't know his unknown will.  She, with tears   streaming down her face prayed asking God to forgive her for the unforgiving attitude and anger.  When she had stopped praying she was glowing      .  Tonight she ate more than she has eaten in a long, long time.  The healling has begun.  The healling of her spirit and the healling of her body.

Tomorrow is the doctors appointment and We will see what she says.  This too is in God's hand.  Melaura has read this and agrees with what I have written  

Again I do and will continue to take her to the doctor, a lady she likes, one who is very thorough.

As usual both Devotionals ( I only remember two, hope I did not miss any) were very up lifting.  So thanks..

I do have a two part question to ask, and Pat if this belongs some place else let me know, or just move it.  Please!!

If the Bible is divinley inspired although written by men (and I believe it is) then would it not stand to reason that God would grant interpretation to everyone coming to Him in ernest prayer?

(2nd part)  If the first question is true, then could not God also grant interpretation of some Scripture according to the Holy Spirits understanding need, of the person reading the Scripture?

Just something that is worth consideration.

How do you take a much-needed nap or get a good night's sleep when you must be alert to danger? Human beings designate people to stay awake and watch for danger when they sleep. Then, they set up warning systems.

Since birds are much more vulnerable to danger, God gave them the ability to do these things on a simple scale, and then He gave them one more amazing gift. Many birds are able to put half of their brain to sleep, while the other half stays awake and alert. The eye that serves the sleeping half even closes, while the eye that serves the waking half of the brain stays alert, searching for danger. After the first sleeping half is nicely rested, it wakes up, and the other half goes to sleep. Of course, these birds can also put both sides of the brain to sleep at the same time, just as we do. Whales, seals and dolphins are among the non-birds that can half-brain sleep as well.

Evidence of the clever design of this half?brain sleep ability can be seen in the fact that where two birds sleep next to each other, each bird will put the half of the brain that faces its partner to sleep. Once that half is rested, they change places, so the other half of their brain can sleep.

When Scripture tells us that God looked at His creation and declared it "good," God's standard for good is perfection. His ingenious design, which would allow birds to protect themselves even when sin and death entered the creation, is part of the goodness of God's creation.

Prayer: I thank You, Lord, that You made a creation perfect and so beautiful that even in could not completely destroy it. Amen.

Janet, as usual, I agree with your clear and biblical thinking.  So many scriptures are taken out of context and confusion can result.  Blessings can come when illness strikes and people seek a closer walk with God.  It is the personal seeking that results in the blessing.  God does not cause the illness.

Ria, I am so sorry that you are having problems.  Chris made a valid point about a change...even a small one.  Have you thought about attending a different church?  I do pray for you and will continue doing this in the future.

A grey, wet day here on the island.  Not cold tho' and that is nice.  Had a moving company come to give an estimate.  They will email the figures in a couple of days.  Highly recommended by a friend who just moved and it is a small, family company.  Sometimes better to pay a little more and avoid problems.  Movers sure can cause problems!!

The kids have been doing well at getting everything lined up to build the kitchen, etc.  The three of them are working together on the project and hopefully even having a bit of fun??  Made marvelous deals on appliances, etc. and my daughter excels in cutting a good deal!  The age of discounts has not totally died.  I have always called her 'Mighty Mouse.'

Did Lee go somewhere?  

Enjoyed reading all the posts and always come away much wiser and certainly feeling much closer to the Lord.  This site has given me a great deal of comfort.

Oh, PAT ... That is so interesting about the "bird brains" ... I remember my mother often slept with one eye open ... does that mean she was only half asleep?   Or does that mean she was a bird brain?  NAH ... Not MY mother!!

hey ya'll
i am still here extremely tired and sore. we had a scrimmage tonight against a neighboring town. we got some pretty good bumps and bruises from it! i got knots on my shins and bruises on my knees. i got a small knot on my head! but i'll be alright! 1 week from tomorrow is our season opener for basketball! it is awesome but it means that the year is gonna be over before i know it! oh well i got to go i'm seriously thinking aobut heading for bed

sarah -- you playing basketball or rugby?

we play basketball but it's pretty much full contact like a mixture of football, hockey, basketball, and volleyball without any of the pads that the football and hockeyplayers wear and our net/goal is smaller than theirs! it's a lot of fun but we play "oklahoma" rules from what people say which is a rough form of basketball. if you can't stand the pain then it's not your game is our motto so to say! lol
