Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

It seems our Pat is having a long day!

I'm back home again, and the weather is getting colder.  A "wintry mix" is predicted for tomorrow!  We will see.

Larry, I hope you will feel much stronger tomorrow.

Like Karma, I have nothing to say, and I've already said it!  :o :-X

I am getting ready to shut this down.  Winds are 23 mph.  The electricity is going dim...not out...but dim and then back bright.

I had a wonderful time today meeting a SeniorNetter that lurks.  I hadn't even seen a post of hers.  But she has three children and 5 grandchildren within 20 miles from me so emailed me to see if we could meet.  A lovely lady.  I invited her to CP.  Sure hope she joins us.  We met as strangers and parted as friends.    ;) :-* :-*

Wow, what a lot of reading!  I haven't had much time the past couple of days, and now have spent the better part of two hours just catching up.

Mom, I love your new photo   :)

Pat, I hope you had a great day at the Royal.  I have heard from a couple of people that have already gone this year that it was quite enjoyable.  I doubt that I will be able to go this year.

I got home from work this evening to find that my Christmas lights were up, just not turned on yet.

And now must go and get some chores done.

Have a good night everyone!

ps.   Welcome Ami Yuy

We have a high wind watch for tonight and tomorrow.  This is supposed to happen in MARCH!  I guess it means there's a big new front coming in, probably with cold and snow.  It is that time of year, and it looks to be right on target.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hi just stopping in for a few minutes to read some before I go off the Wed. Night Bible Study. Been doing some laundry since I got home and giving the dogs some of my attention that they have been begging for. Took some photos of the horses that live here and petting one of them for awhile.

Got to go now.

Lest we forget.

Yes the great sacrifice to sit and talk to the veterans of all wars.  My great uncle who lost a leg and probably many friends in WW1 to shout my friends that my uncle was here the one who you could push a fire poker through his false leg.  We would all laugh about.  Now a mature adult I would like it very much to take him in my arms and say I know what you went through.  Please forgive me I was a child doing childish things.

He passed over many years ago.  It was through my Uncle Edward and Aunt Ada that I took up my walking.  Passing the streams of Burnley and Clitheroe and sampling the real ice cream.   And my aunts home made lemonade.  I have a lot to thank these two.

Many years later I joined the Royal Marines and passed the commando course then the parachute course for airborne forces being told I was a member of special forces.   Dashed to the phone tell my dearest mother I was a special type of person.  Funny I felt the same and the pay was the same except for parachute pay.  The balloon descent I can say was something out of this world.  Three hundred feet in what was it three seconds.  How those guys are supposed to shout that Indian chiefs name is beyond me all I could manage was  Ehhhhhh.    I only joined to walk mountains and see the world.   Not jump out of WW2 balloons,.

But they did say that if you can jump out of a balloon you can jump out of anything.  Like jumping off the top of a chimney.  The basket creaking as it took you to 850ft.  Then the PJI [parachute jumping instructor ]shouting 850ft ten men jumping.  First out the side of the basket was a American who had joined the parachute regiment through being attached to somebody over here probably a grandma.

He jumped no problem.  Then it was me I thought if he says No!! I am joining him.  He said yes so I followed him out the door/opening.  I am a born coward.

They did tell me when your chute opens it is not the "Good Lord" talking to you it is Sgt Wreford down below with his hailer.

Best voice I have ever heard.  Telling me things I already learned in the hangar supended from the roof by harness and thrown to the floor for over two weeks!  Like check your canopy assess your drift look out for other paratroopers.  If one is above you move over you will rob his air and he will come crashing down.

Then that stupid weapons pack on a rope swinging here there everywhere.

Night drops the only indication you have of nearing the ground is when that weapons container rope goes slack then a second later you hit whatever you are landing in.  For weapons container read backpack!!

WW2 paratroopers[and other servicemen from the free world] I salute you going into the great unknown to rid the world of a great evil.  I passed my airborne and Royal Marine Commando course in the early seventies.   In 1940 this was all new sheer guts and courage rid the world of that evil.

Pity these young do not feel the same way today??

I can tell my brothers and sisters in the USA that the oncoming demonstrations in the UK against Iraq do not show the true feelingof the people in the UK.

How can anybody say the coalition forces should not have gone in when that person bombed and gassed thousands and his sons practised wholesale rape on any young woman that took their eye.  Not counting the executions by hanging from a crane in the footbal stadium .

The western world should help the third world but not for greed or profit.  But as Christians.  Do not put into power people that our sons and daughters have to remove with their lives later,  Not counting the misery and suffering to the people in those lands.   And the parents of service personnel!!

Think I have wrote enough.

Peace be with you wherever you maybe.

Alan

Welcome Ami Yuy to Christian Photographers ;D ;D ;D

Janet :o

Unfortunetly right now Lindsey doesn't want to go back to the homeschool skate-but, they have a gal that teaches figure skating lessons that the girls did last year and I will probably try and get them signed up for those lessons once the new year gets here.
I am going to just let her have some time, and my husband said if we do go back that he will go and if those people are there then we will all talk about it.
Anyway Lindsey and I talked about it and I said sometimes when we apolagize there are people that just cannot accept it, and I said you did all you could do-Now we just need to ask the Lord to help us forgive and put it behind us and go on-she agreed.
Her auction ended yesterday for her dolls she was selling-and it was at 46 dollars, the last 4 minutes I was watching it and prayed Lord let it get to 50 dollars to lift her spirits-so the last minute I clicked refresh and guess what? It jumped 10 dollars-she sold those dolls for 56 dollars lol, she was so excited about that.
For the rest of my day-been busy with school and catching up on things-I stayed home tonight to catch up on grading and recording grades so, I need to go do that-
Hugs to all of you

RIA-I am so glad that your doing better-
Pat-Have you heard from Meika?

I'm exhausted; it has been a long day.  Another long day tomorrow.  We have to go to Bernard's uncle's funeral -- Bernard is a pallbearer and is supposed to sing with some of his cousins.  Pray for the man's widow, please, she is obviously heartbroken, but when I saw her tonight, she is having an incredibly difficult time coping.

Have a good 'un, y'all, and I'll "see" you tomorrow.

PS -- Any of ya'll wouldn't happen to be able to get your hands on a Sammy Sosa jersey would you?  My niece is really wanting one for Christmas, and we can't find them anywhere around here.

Elizabeth

Enjoyed all the posts and Judy B., that is a great site.  Like some of the others, I haven't much to say...Was a tiring day and a busy one ahead tomorrow.  Marilyn, I liked the pictures and that cat is sure cute.  Jenny, hope you feel better soon.

I have to go to my daughter's tomorrow to see the firm member who is coming to design the kitchen, etc.  The kids are getting over a bad virus....so hope my Vit. C and Echinacea will protect from their flu.  Feel like I'm popping my head in the Lion's den....

God Bless and Pleasant Dreams.

Brother Alan.........

You're my kind of guy.  Too bad we can't sit and share in person.  Every time I went up (Flying) I wanted just once to let er rip and jump.  I was always glad the reason to jump never happend.  You've got a lot more guts than this guys has.  I don't think I could jump out of a perfectly good plane (As they say).
