Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Louisa M. R. Stead, 19th Century
Musician:  William J. Kirkpatrick, 1838-1921

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
And to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, "Thus says the Lord!"

Refrain

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Refrain

Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

Refrain

I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

Refrain

My lesson of the day was -- when every room in the house is a "play" room to a toddler telling him to take his toys to his room makes no sense.  If he is sleepy, when you take his toys to his room to show him how, many tears and pleas of "Mama, stop" will ensue.

Right now he is trying to cut his fingernails himself.  ::)

Oh, yea, Nards, he said he put something down the register in the computer room.  Should I be concerned.  I think it was a sticker, but it might have been a crayon.  And NO I didn't let him. :P

I hope everyone is having a good afternoon.  More later, perhaps.

Jeanne Lee

Any hint of our having a budget is a figment of the imagination.

 My monitor kicked the bucket and had to be replaced ASAP so I could continue with the Town web page using FrontPage, so off we went to Staples and home we came with a new 17". It's a CRT, not LSD but it does have a flat screen and after rebate the price was only $89.  Sounded pretty good to me.  Hooked up like a dream and I'm using it now.

And still the gusty, biting wind blows.  There are trees and limbs down all over the place, lots of people without power.  We're well prepared for loss of power but so far all is well.

Naw, there's never anything of any consequence that makes its way through that register anyway....

Some contractor or the other really let me down on that particular situation.

We now return this channel to its regularly scheduled programming... :)

Jeanne Lee... while your budget is all to pieces, can you go ahead and ship another new monitor to Karmat and me???? :)
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

I got this today in an email.  Really makes you stop and think.

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. Well, as such things go, one thing led to another. The sales meeting lasted longer than anticipated. Their flights were scheduled to leave out of Chicago's O'Hare Airport, and they had to race pell mell to catch their flights back home. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of baskets of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.

All but one. He paused, took a deep breath and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned. He  told his buddies to go on without him and told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the floor. He was glad he did. The 16 year old girl at the apple stand was totally blind!

She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping or to care for her plight.  The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them into the baskets, and helped set the display up once more. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.

When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $20 for the damage we did. Are you okay?"  She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly."  As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister...." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?" He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?"

Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace. If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church.  It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.

That is a beautiful story, Jeanne Lee.  I did make me think.  Thanks for sharing that!

Etta Sue

Hi everyone!  We all had a wonderful lunch and then went to Kaye Don and Barb's for coffee and a great visit.  Well, Kaye Don and Libby, the dog, took a nap.  I just got home and it is getting mighty dark.

Hi Jerry.....see, I told you people missed your posts.

Congratulations on the new monitor, Jeanne Lee.  That story is really something, isn't it?  We are to act like Jesus...hmmm!

Janet, your story of the lady in southern Indiana was really sad and glad.  With Christmas around the corner, we become more aware of families in this predictament.

Good night all....I am calling it a night.  Don't party too much!!!!!

Janet

Jeanne, that is a great story.  Makes you stop and think how much pain a quick and thoughtless action may cause someone, and how much a kindness can mean.

Thanks, Etta Sue!  ;)

Paul said we're to be "conformed to the image of Jesus Christ."  That does indeed mean that people should mistake us for Jesus.  Oh that it may be true of me!

Janice

Hello friends!  It's so long since I have been here, I forgot how to log in!
We are OK, just have had so many things going on.  Trips, health upsets, etc.  I was at the doctor office in Lubbock yesterday and my blood pressure was too high.  He had the nurse give me a bp pill and water, when he learned I had to drive home.  He told me to go home and get some rest!
Earl has gout again.  He had it 3 weeks or so ago, and the med caused him to start retaining fluid again, he gained 9 pounds in about 3 or 4 days!
Not good, with his history.
Well, I will go now.  Hope everyone here is doing well.
The Lord provides for our needs so all is well.
Love,  Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Larry Hanna

Janice,  glad you were able to post.  It sounds like you have really had your hands full and do hope Earl is doing better and that you get your bp under control.

Enjoyed the stories related today.  These little stories cause us to think and that is good.

Jeanne, I am sure you will enjoy your new monitor.  My wife's 19" monitor, that was only about 2 years old, we had to trash as it went black and wouldn't come back on.  We had sent it to California once but that cost $75 to ship and our son had only paid $190 for it new when he gave it to his mother.  So she went back to using the smaller monitor that came with her computer originally.  She would like to have one of those thin monitors but doesn't want to spend the money as long as what she has is working.

I went over late this afternoon to help the same lady I had yesterday with her computer.  I set up her new color printer and went to install the software and it said her computer was too old, didn't have enough RAM and there was a third problem.  So I had to unhook that printer and hook up her old black and white one.  I had to call the technical support department of her ISP to get help in getting her e-mail to work and to even get online.  We did get that straightened out.  Her son had given her this old computer and a monitor that is very grey and difficult to read.  I told her she definitely needed to buy a new computer, which she plans to do after Christmas.

Jerry, we always enjoy seeing you post so don't be a stranger.

Welcome to MFD Mary.

Well I am tired tonight so going to sign off for now.   See you all tomorrow.

I have no knowledge as to what I've said to offend a brother/sister in Christ.  If I have truly offended, I offer my sincere opology to both of you.  You may rest assured I'll not give further cause.

Hi Everyone!

I lay down after my supper and promptly fell asleep!  LOL  I woke up and found both Geordie and Lauren snuggled up with me on the couch and I was so warm and toasty!

Lee, I have no idea what your post means.  Let's see another "Guess the Hymn"!

Let's sing!

AMAZING GRACE
(Click title to hear music)

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

Lee I have no Idea who would be offended.  I have an idea for a hymn shall I IM you?

WE watched the Navy League cadets practice their drill tonight.  What a hoot.  THere were 3 brand spanking new kids, who signed the dotted line tonight.  Watching these precious kids try to copy the drill procedures was really funny to watch. Left turn was a right out of step, I am impressed that they tried.  YOu know I couldn't do it!  That would be funnier!

Nita Tim Hortons has a double chocolate fudge cookie. mmmmmnnnnn yummy,  I will send you some cyber ones ok?

Pat you must be really tired. You have been keeping up a hectic pace.  Soooo go to bed and get some rest.

Al How is the cold?  Hope you are feeling better.

Janice Take care of yourself, and Earl.  We miss you when you are gone!

well Pat John wants to join.  He has read Lee, Chris, Nards amd the other men posting and now he is wanting to join.  Woohoo
Watch out you guys!

Well Talk later.

Thanks Pat.  I especially love the 'lets sing.'

Wonderful stories Janet & Jeanne Lee.  I can relate to the lady with the children and understand the despair.  For a very long time life was extremely difficult and fear was always lurking...

I loved your story Jeanne Lee.  Our Christian life should be about kindness and gentleness.  Funny how so many think that a gentle nature means a weak person.  Fact is, the opposite is true.  It takes much strength to be gentle and kind in the face of adversity.
Something that Jesus wants from all of us.

Nice day on the island and no fog.  I had the Lions Club take my no longer needed 'stuff' as they would come with a van.  They can sell it and use the money for good causes.  Salvation Army no longer does pickups...Decided on a mover and went with the more expensive one as they protect the floors and provide better care for the furniture.  Guess we get what we pay for, even tho' it hurts!!

Haven't a clue what you are talking about Lee.  Please don't stop your great posting.  We learn from our differences and that is important for everyone who is a Christian.  No one person has all the answers.....

Hope you are feeling well  Ria.  Hi to all and pleasant dreams to all.  God Bless.

Ruth
