JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.  O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in Thine anger, lest Thou bring me to nothing.
Jer.  10:23-24

Jeremiah lived in treacherous times. He had many enemies, both political and religious, because he spoke for God.

As God spoke to him, so he spoke to them. He suffered severely at their hands. His only recourse was to God Himself.

And so he sought the guidance of the Lord, for there was the danger that he might try to solve things for himself and plot his own course. We also must learn that we cannot plan things independent of God. Such plans will surely go astray.

The Lord is my shepherd...He leadeth me.
--Reg Jordan

Lord, I would clasp my hand in Thine;
nor ever murmur or repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
since 'tis my God that leadeth me.

The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want
(Click to hear music)

Psalm 23

The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; he leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

My soul he doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E'en for his own name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill:
For thou art with me, and thy rod
And staff me comfort still.

My table thou hast furnished
In prsence of my foes;
My head thou dost with oil anoint
And my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me;
And in God's house for evermore
My dwelling-place shall be.

Janet

Good morning Pat, Jane and Sarah!

Jane, seems you were up pretty late yourself!  ;)  I sacked out early, and this morning I do feel better.  I will put the hangers on the items I finished framing yesterday, wrap them all up and take them to Hugoton today.  And (of course!) I will go to see Abby while I'm there.

Tomorrow is a very busy day, and the week is packed full!  We do have a taker for one puppy and likely another, so that's looking better.  We really want them out of here before we leave!

Lord, my prayer this morning is that I might do everything I do today, to please YOU.

Alma

Dear all,

  Pat, Thank you so much for this mornings devotional, I have to say it is so true, I have found when my life seems to be off track it is when I have tried to do things without Gods blessings, I have just made things so much harder ..

  Jane , Good morning to you, And How are you? God bless..

  Sarah, It sounds like you have a lot going on with school and all, Thank God for youth..

   Janet, Sounds like you to have plenty on your plate today.. God bless you..

   Marilyn, Hi and how are you??God bless you..

    I have been up early this morning as Craig left for the week again, and it is just Cheryl and I .. There is  so much to do, I hardly have time any more for much, as Cheryl requires so much care..

   We did find my daughter and her new husband a new house to move into,m, we have been praying alot for them a new place and God finally opened the door he had planned for them.. It is a 4 bedroom  2 bath on an acre of land, the neoghbors that live next to them right now are on drugs and they are not nice people.. We have tried to witness to them about Gods love, by loving and caring about them but to no avail..They are a gang of quite a few.. So now its time to move my kids and grandbabies.. I have been paying my daughters rent since her first husband left her and the baby with no help or money.. The rent will be double but the house is 4 times better then the triplex they live in now..And I have known the lady that will live next door for about 5 years, and they are good people..Please keep them all in  your prayers..

   I spoke with my mom yesterday, she is doing much better, she is in a wheel chair now all the time as she falls over when she walks..I don't think she will be coming home again to live.. She will problably be staying with my sister..This is very hard on me because I miss her so but I work 24/7 and am not able to go and stay with her at her home, I did tell my sister that mama could come live with us but she dosen't seem to want to overburden me because of the care Cheryl requires..

   Well I  will end for now I have a chores to start and I hear Cheryl awake.. God bless you all and Hello to all of you who come in after this..

Good Sunny Morning to all:  It has been below the freezing mark but when the sun shines, the temperature just doesn't feel as cold.

Larry:  I too hope that you can find out the reason for your clammy episodes.  Sometimes, an almost dormant virus can cause that problem but I can't be the one to tell you what can be wrong.

Papa John:  Oh, I do miss the water (Seattle girl landlocked in Colorado) - so glad you can enjoy a beach.

Janet:  Ouch - Take care. Pamper yourself a bit as you will need to be walking a lot on your trip.

Sarah:  and, your dad had a fall on the ice.  Sorry to hear that - it sounds like he is recovering.

Jenny:  Take care - I would like to send you a bit of our sunshine today.  Just close your eyes and feel the warmth!!!

Sunday was a great day for Jerry and I.  He didn't get his new computer back from a junior minister at church...hopefully he will get it tonight when we go to the small groups gathering.
Jerry and I went out to eat after church and then to his house.  He came home with me.  We went to Meijer's and then back home.  He watched NASCAR and a lady at church let me borrow  huge cookbook that contains 500 LoCarb recipes.  I am typing them on the pc so I can print them out for Ivalou and myself.  Not all 500!!!!

Today I want to catch up on the pc.  Jerry has started to put together little 3-drawer chests that I want to use as end tables in the living.  Then it will be lunch and then I want to cut Jerry's hair.  That's a no brainer....just buzz it short!!!!  After we get cleaned up and dressed warm, we will go to small groups.  They are hoping to start their outside fireplace, the husband is a stone mason, so I do want to dress so I don't freeze to death.  We are having chili, relish plate, peanut butter and honey sandwiches, dessert and my Corn Bread Salad that Mark, the minister, said would go with anything.  Yeah, bring your Corn Bread Salad....as he was salvating.   :P :P  I will take Jerry home, hopefully help him carry in his pc.  Then he will have fun tomorrow putting in his stuff into his new computer.

That's it folks!  Oh, yeah,  the sun is shining BUT it is only 39 degrees F.

Janice

Good Morning, everyone.  I hope all of you have a wonderful day.  It does sound like most are having very BUSY days!  Keep warm and cozy if you can.

I want to thank Pat for fixing my picture.  I messed up big time trying to add a new pic.  Oh well, we all have different talents and different faults.  Some more obvious than others.  It was very obvious that I cannot post photos!
Thanks again, Pat, you're a dear.

Our son-in-law passed away last Tuesday.  He was in hospice care a few months with terminal cancer.  He was a believer though, and today he is with the Lord.  It is easier to let go when you see your loved ones in pain for so long.

"This is the day the Lord has made...let us rejoice and be glad in it"  how true.  Every day is a gift.
Love from Janice

This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone,

Janice, I certainly convey my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your son-in-law.  These last few months must have been really difficult.  I like you new picture.

Janet, just what you didn't need now is a fall.  Sure hope there are no lasting effects.  Abby is certainly a special child and it sounds like she is very gifted.

Etta Sue, why is Jerry getting his computer from the minister?  Is he building it for him or something?  Hope he gets it this evening and that you all have a great time at your small groups.

Carol, I think it got down to freezing here last night but is warming up nicely today, up into the lower 60s.

Alma, glad you were able to find a much better place for your daughter and family. It sounds like that they were in a really bad neighborhood.

Marilyn, you are certainly on a busy schedule.  Don't overdo.

Sarah, how many college classes are you taking?  It is really neat that a person can take college work while still in high school.  When I was in high school that was allowed.

Pat, another fine devotional.

Nita, I use Firefox quite a bit and just now checked and I didn't have any difficulty going to the Gallery and seeing the buttons for navigation.  Don't know what to suggest to you.  There is a new 1.0 version of the software available now.  It seems to be more stable, at least for me.

Papa John, glad to see you and Corneilia are having such a good time at Hilton Head.  Hope the weather stays nice for you this week.

Jane, you should stay nice and warm this winter with all that wood.  God is providing your every need.

Another week and another medical appointment.  I have a CT scan scheduled for Thrusday morning to check out this spot on my lung.  Be glad to get that behind me.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Janet

Janice!!  How wonderful to see you here again!  I miss you when you are away.  Sorry to hear about your son in law, but certainly agree it is easier to let go when you know you will see those loved ones again.

Alma, I'm glad your daughter and family are moving away from the druggies.  Not a good environment for adults, let alone children.  I hope your load eases some, and that you will get to spend more time with your Mom.

Etta Sue, watch out!  Your day is starting to sound like mine!  ;)  As in busy, busy.........

I need to get busy and leave for Hugoton soon.  My customer is anxious to see her son's and daughter's framed Doctor of Medicine degrees.  ;D ;D  So would I be!

Marilyn, hope your day goes well, too.

Just stopping by to say howdy!

Hi Everyone...

I'm sorry about your son-in-law, Janice.  Wonderful to know that he's with the Lord and no more suffering.

Yes, Larry, it will be good to have Thursday over.  We're all praying for you brother.

Janet, how are you?  I'm so sorry about this fall.  I sure hope that when you are in Thailand that maybe you'll find an internet cafe so that you can check in with all of us.  I don't think it will be nice to have you absent for so long.

Hi to the rest of you.  I'm missing Jenny!  I hope that Jenny and Ria are both alright and just busy.

Talk to you all in a little while.  Lots to do here.

Victory in Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by Eugene. M. Bartlett

I heard an old, old story, How a Saviour came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins And won the victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow'r revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried "Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and bro't To me the victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing, And the old, redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

Spiritual Warfare and Sin: Self-sins

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but
Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I
live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for
me.
--Galatians 2:20

To be specific, the self-sins are self-righteousness, self-pity,
self-confidence, self-sufficiency, self-admiration, self-love and
a host of others like them. They dwell too deep within us and are
too much a part of our natures to come to our attention till the
light of God is focused upon them. The grosser manifestations of
these sins--egotism, exhibitionism, self-promotion--are strangely
tolerated in Christian leaders, even in circles of impeccable
orthodoxy. They are so much in evidence as actually, for many
people, to become identified with the gospel. I trust it is not a
cynical observation to say that they appear these days to be a
requisite for popularity in some sections of the church visible.
Promoting self under the guise of promoting Christ is currently
so common as to exite little notice....

Self is the opaque veil that hides the face of God from us. It can
be removed only in spiritual experience, never by mere
instruction. We may as well try to instruct leprosy out of our
system. There must be a work of God in destruction before we are
free. We must invite the cross to do its deadly work within us. We
must bring our self-sins to the cross for judgment.  The Pursuit
of God, 43-44.

"Oh Lord, do that 'work of God in destruction' within me today.
I am indeed 'crucified with Christ.' I pray this morning that the
cross would obliterate the self-sins in my life and let me live
only for Jesus Christ and His glory. Amen."

Thanks, Larry.  I do have the 1.0 version of Firefox.  I guess it has to be something in configurations if you are alble to navigate just fine.   Last night even using IE, I couldn't move anywhere.  I'd cliink on a link but nothing happened.  I did a repair just a minute ago, so will see.  Or maybe it's just time to take a break from this computer again. :)

Papa John

We have had another good day here at Hilton Head.  This is really a golfing resort and I haven’t played golf in years.  But we are enjoying being right here on the ocean and visiting the many shops all around.  Today we went to see a movie, The North Pole Express with Tom Hanks.  It is a children’s movie rated G, a fantasy..  Little kids would enjoy it more than we did.

Excuse me for not commenting on the posts.  I am writing this off line because my on line time is more expensive than at home.  I hope you all have a good evening.

Luke 2:11-14

13   And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14   Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Just As I Am[/size]
(Click to hear the music)

Author:  Charlotte Elliott, 1789-1871
Musician:  William B. Bradbury, 1816-1868

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

how are you doing tonight?

Hello there, Matt!  I'm pretty good but it's been a really busy day here in my home.  I had company come and stay over night last night and now they've just left about 5 minutes ago.

Hey, Matt, some of the young fellows are looking for others their age to talk about photography.  I think I sent you a link to the topic.  Did you get it?

Matt, I don't think I've been on the welcoming committee, but I'm certainly glad you're here!

I was dealing with a lot of back pain, so didn't get that camera at Wal Mart. Hope I can find a good deal sometime this week.

Must go - very tired and must eat a bite of supper here at 10 pm at night.

Y'all have a good evening.
