Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit.
John 15:5

If kept in the enjoyment of the Lord's love, it flows out; you cannot help it, there is no effort.

No apple tree tries to grow apples. Do not try to be anything.

You keep yourself in the love of God, and you will be like the Son of God; you cannot help it. The atmosphere we live in will tell upon us, just as the ointment on Aaron's head went down to the skirts of his garment and diffused an odor wherever he went.

If we get near to the Lord, we shall carry away some of the savor of His presence.

We always become like the thing we are occupied with.
--W. Wolston

'Tis the treasure I've found in His love,
that has made me a pilgrim below;
And 'tis there, when I reach Him above,
as I'm known, all His fullness I'll know.

I add to the devotional...........

And our Lord says:

"IF YOU LOVE ME, YOU WILL OBEY ME"

The evidence (Fruit) of our love for Jesus is our daily walk among men.

My Turkey was wonderful-I forgot to put out the salad I made though lol-guess we will have that tomorrow sometime..I made my dressing last night and put it in the fridge then, I stuffed the turkey this am..It was soooo good...My daughter Courtney said it smelled good in the house when they got home-they helped someone along the road on their way back home and the person gave Wayne 10 dollars lol-he said he would of done it otherwise but, they insisted.
Good night to all..
Rachelle
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thy own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct thy paths.

Iain

Jenny & Chris - Has England not got anything to be thankful for or have you run out of turkeys?

Marilyn - Nice new pic sis. Is Pastor Al a good chef?

Pat - Praying that you will have a pain free day today.

Ria - Do you celebrate Thanksgiving?

Rachelle - I'm drooling here!!

LOL

Iain

Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, my foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Psalm 94:17-19

Professing to be a born again Christian in this day and age is an act of courage as well as grace. It is like placing our lives on a pedestal for all the world to view.

Like those at a shooting gallery, they are all there ready and waiting for the 'easy' target to come along that they may shoot it down.

The fact that we are simply sinners saved by grace makes no difference to the snipers when a foot slips here or there.

Why are my brothers and sisters in the faith to quick to judge and find fault with me? Why does it hurt me so much? It is a pain like no other! Why do some folk delight in cutting down instead of building up? Is it really that important what others think of me?

Is it my imagination or is it a fact that those who seem to shout and condemn the most are those who do the least for the Kingdom?

Thankfully our Saviour provides a shoulder to lean upon and a listening ear to our complaints and moans. He also provides the balm that heals the ulcerated pain caused by a wayward tongue.

No matter what the world may think of the Christian, or for that matter what they expect us to be, we are not supermen or superwomen!

We all have our shortcomings and failings which for many of us are there for the world to view on a daily basis.

The longer I go on in my Christian walk the greater the fear that I carry within me of letting my Saviour or His cause down. I know I fail Him on a daily basis. I am sinner and would hold my hand up to being the chief of sinners alive today.

It is a difficult path we must tread and there are many places where our feet may slip. Attractions, distractions, lust, envy, greed, need I go on? There are those who fear to make a commitment to Christ for fear of failing Him.

Is this commendable? No it's sin!

He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. He that hath begun the good work in us shall perform it until the day of Christ. Thankfully He has a greater grip on us than we have on Him.

We cannot but speak of the things which we have seen and heard. Oh that we had that dynamic spirit each day of our lives!

We have to confess though that there have been many times when we have had the opportunity to speak good to someone and yet silence prevailed.

Other times we have spoken and wished that we had kept our mouths shut! Many a preacher has a sleepless Sabbath night thinking over what he would like to have said and what he failed to say.

Many a faithful preacher would have given up altogether had the Lord not been his help.
Amidst all these failings and faults, stumbles and slips is there any comfort for us?

The One who keeps us from falling said, 'I came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. They that are whole need not a physician but they who are sick. Who is he that is without sin, let him cast the first stone. Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.'

Our comfort my friend lies in the atoning work of Jesus of Nazareth on the cross at Calvary. The One in the middle stretched forth His hands beckoning sinners like you and I to come unto Him and be saved. Are you aware today my friend of the comfort of having your sins forgiven?

Washed in the blood of the Lamb. Cleansed at the fountain He opened for sin and uncleanness. Having the sure and certain knowledge that before you lies an Eternity with the One whom you love.

There may be many a day when we cannot grasp these precious comforts.

Let us take hold of them today with both hands. I am His and He is mine. I would not have it any other way. He teaches me daily the way in which I should go.

He loves me and cares for me despite all my faults and failings. He may chasten like any good father would but He never condemns me!

Unless the Lord had been my help I cannot imagine where I would be today. In a gutter no doubt! He was my help yesterday, already He has helped me today and if I am spared to see tomorrow then I can confidently commit my way to Him.

No matter what others may think or say, I am a sinner who is looking forward to spending an Eternity with my Saviour.

LOL

Your brother in Christ

Ria, I can honestly say if you only have one book besides the Bible, "My Utmost for His Highest" would be an excellent choice.  Chambers's writings are timeless.

Good morning all!  What a great day to be thankful for.  We survived the big meals.  Now to get back to some normalcy with anticipation of the big family gatherings at Christmas.

Now I am trying to decide about decorations.  The one place I would and should put a tree is Ali's spot to watch the birdies outside.  I know last year, I was constantly putting ornaments back on the tree.  I don't have many visitors to see the inside decorations but then, Jerry's son, DIL and grandson are coming from Italy to visit this year. Sooooo......

I will have to decide....

Iain: I have no idea what kind of chef Brother Al is. We ate in a resturant. There are photos of all of us in the photo area and you can see for yourself that we didn't eat at home. Thank you for the devotional Ian you always have good things to say that  touch my heart and bring prayerful thoughts to my mind.

Thank you all for the compliments on my new profile photo. I haven't changed much in less than a year since the other one was posted. If I have I don't see it.

Yes Pat I forgot to ask you last night about you visit to the dentist. What did you have done this time?

Be back later.

Good Morning everyone
I'm new here at Christian Photographers, but am very thankful that I found you.

I have been an active hobby photographer for about 15 years, and just love the art.  I'll get some pics up soon for you to critique!

Blessings to you all!

Hi everyone.

Ria, I think your selection of the Oswald Chambers book is a fine one.  I learned of it from Jane some months ago and purchased it and have been reading the devotionals from "My Utmost for His Highest" on a daily basis since receiving the book.  I hope you get a lot out of his writings.  Some of it is very deep and some of it hits me right in the heart.

Marilyn, I like your new photo and I saw the pictures from the luncheon yesterday and could see you all were having a great time.

We had a nice family gathering yesterday and delicious food.  I took some pictures and when I get them worked up I will post a few of them.  We are very grateful for all of the many blessings God has bestowed upon our family.

We had a call last evening from our step-grandson and we hadn't heard from him for several months as we had no way of reaching him.  He will graduate from highschool in May and has already signed up with the National Guard and will go to 26 weeks of training at Fort Knox, KY starting at the end of June.  He has been in ROTC for a couple of years in highschool and really likes it.  I feel this will be a very good thing for him.  We found out where he is working, which is at a Waffle House a little north of us, so we are going to go there and have lunch and see him.

Pat and Iain, your devotional messages were certainly meaningful today.  Thanks.

Jenny, couldn't you get a Hotmail or Yahoo e-mail account to use?  Also, believe you said you had signed up with AOL and I know they have e-mail as a part of their service.  I can't image not having e-mail.  ::)

Rachelle, you all will have something else to eat today since you saved your salad.  You must have had plenty of other things to eat if no one missed it.  My wife has done the same thing on occasion and almost did that yesterday with a dish she had heated in the microwave.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Jenny

3.50 p.m..U.K.
Hi there Marilyn...blue suits you!.....the colour I mean, I already said how glamourous you look...God is good...surely He does renew that which the locust has eaten!  Wonderful!

Well I don't know how I got in to C.P. this afternoon. I seem to have two programs running for you at the moment.. I just went for a ride in the icy cold to blow the "web"  cobwebs away...brrr, it sure is cold out there! Anyway I was able to have a little chat to a nice neighbour of mine, Robin.  That broke the day up for me.  I didn't stay out there long.  My body just can't cope with it anymore.  Well "His blessings are New every morning", tomorrow always has good things in store. We must look forward..........

My Christmas Cactus is blooming.  It looks wonderful.  Very bright pink and seasonal.  Thank-you God!

I have been thinking of dear Sonya today and Melaura.  The Lord Bless them both in their necessity.

You all seem to be enjoying the Thanksgiving celebrations.  Christmas is our high spot over here.or it was, now however it follows close on Hindu Divali and the Moslem festival celebrating the giving of the Koran  to Mohammed.  Fireworks are still going off each night round here...Oh dear!  Lord Jesus we are Your "little flock".  Thank-you that it is "the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom"....We cannot have the Father without the Son..who reveals Himself to us...Wonderful Jesus!

I am going to feed my two cats now. Sunday dog is fast asleep on the settee.  Then time for a cuppa and drawing the curtains on the outside world...It's getting dark and something icy and wet is falling from the sky!

I tried to download some new drivers from microsoft but Nachi worm is in the way...Have to get somone to take it out!  It sure is slowing things down...P'raps that'sGod speaking to me!

Love you all... :-*
Jenny

Marilyn

That sweater is really purple, I don't know why it came out blue. must be the color setting on my computer for the photos. My hair always comes out looking darker than it is too. I think that is due to so much red pigment in my hair. It always looks so dark on film.

Gotta go to work shortly. Every body have a God blessed day. Talk again when I get home.

Ria...........

Why are you having trouble receiving "Our Daily Bread"?  RBC Ministeries mail them monthly.  If for some other reason you aren't getting it, let me know and I'll go to work on it with you.

As others have said, O. Chambers is not only excellent reading, and he's on target.

Jenny, it's so good to see that you're still able to post here.  That sure makes me happy.  What are your plans to get rid of the virus from your computer?

Thanks so much, Iain.   I always get such a blessing from reading your posts.  What I do is copy and paste them to my folder I have on my computer simply entitled "Iain" and then when I have some quiet time to myself, I go back and read it more carefully.  I'm collecting quite a book!  I hope that you never stop.

Ria, I love that new book of yours.  I have one of his right here beside me as well.  I enjoy any of this man's writings.

We had a great organist at the first church that I attended years ago, and he would play it at the prelude to the Christmas eve midnight service, I just fell in love with it.
It is so haunting.

Pat

I'm going to look for a CD with it on.  I have it playing here in the background.  I think it would be nice to have it in beautiful stereo.
